Question huawei health app in IOS 16 - Huawei Watch GT 3

i have a GT3 pro that is pairing correctly with an iphone under IOS16. however, the app is not asking for the login. therefore, it cannot activate the ECG and other features. in another iphone with IOS14, it works perfectly, asking for the ID and activating the ECG and other stuff. contacting the help centre is useless. any clue?
Thanks!

New project to detect heart rate and send it to a cloud service

Hi.
I have worked in a project involving a Samsung Gear Live, a Nexus 4 and a cloud service called Kii Cloud.
Since all the source code is available I thought that hackers in this particular Android Wear forum might want to take a look at it.
It uses a library called Teleport which facilitates communication between the watch and the phone.
I thought that it could be interesting for a scenario to monitor the elder and see if they're still ticking

Airwatch and the Z5 fingerprint sensor ?

Hello!
I'd like to use the Z5 as a BYOD corporate phone. The company I work in requires Airwatch for device management and I know from the Galaxy S6 that Airwatch supports its fingerprint sensor as a valid unlock way.
Can anyone confirm that Airwatch also works with the Z5 fingerprint sensor?
Kind regards,
Sascha

If Airwatch adds support, yes.
New hardware often requires updates for third party apps to work well.
For example, my banking app does support S6 fingerprint scanner but not yet Z5. They have to add support.
I am using my Z5 with Airwatch and unlocking through fingerprint sensor to access my company´s Exchange services (email, contacts, calendar)
Leaving aside that the sensor is little diva it works fine.
Make sure that you install Airwatch Sony Service from Playstore.
If it works for you may depend of your company´s security policy. Maybe it does not allow fingerprint sensors for unlocking.
Anyhow, you have to consider that installing Airwatch on your phone provides your company deep insights to phone usage - business and private. If you do not really trust them, don´t do it
Hi Skarrr,
Your statement about AW collecting business and private data unbeknownst to the end user is inaccurate. There are very granular settings within the console to toggle privacy on/off for certain features, for certain device types, types of ownership such as Corp. owned, BYOD, etc. For example, collecting info on telecom usage, private application usage, geo location, etc. This is a big misconception with BYOD users and the fear of wanting/needing to use their personal phones at their place of employment. It's up to the company to dictate what info they want/need to collect - not a limitation of the AirWatch console itself. You can also create terms of use verbiage that is presented to the user BEFORE they enroll their device to indicate what info the company may or may not be collecting. At that time they can make an informed decision to proceed with enrollment or not. I hope this helps clear up any confusion or fear with using the AirWatch solution. Thank you for your business.
I can confirm that "deep insights to phone usage - business and private" is definitely wrong. AirWatch is a very flexible software, but your company will decide what information should be collected. Generally, Telecom usage and Glocalization are disabled for BYOD devices, and enabled for company owned devices.
In detail:
- AirWatch cannot track the live location of the device, it's not like Android Manager from Google. The location is usually sent every 4 hours by default
- AirWatch cannot read your text messages, nor your emails, nor know what apps you have used or you are using.
If you feel "spied", check with your IT guys what information is being collected from your device.

Gear S3 and Google assistant

I am a staunch user of Google and Samsung products. With the S3 running Tizen it seems as if I have lost the Google/Samsung marriage I have grown to love. In particular, I am very disappointed that I cannot choose Google assistant over S voice. S Voice seems 3 to 5 years behind Google assistant.
Is it likely that someone will connect Google assistant and the Gear S3?
I suspect it's very unlikely. Google assistant/OK Google is android wear's big selling point. I'm the same as you, I miss proper Google integration with voice and Gmail etc, but I find the gear s3 and the samsung ui to be much better. I'd love OK Google, Google maps and Gmail on the s3 but it won't happen.
@photojonny FYI "OK Google" is the only thing that is _actually_ missing from your list of desired features. you can get turn-by-turn Google Maps power directions for a few dollars in the Galaxy Gear app store by a third-party developer, but I'll admit it has mixed reviews (both the standalone and phone-powered versions). And Gmails pop up in real time via notifications, and there are probably Tizen apps for that too if not coming soon.
@Rkkerby I have poked around Samsung's "Gear Watch Face Designer" and I don't think it has the capability to incorporate calling the google assistant API or whatever. I think Samsung claims that Tizen OS is about as "open" as Android OS for developers, so the only thing stopping you from using Google Assistant on Your Samsung Gear is, well, you. Either as a developer or as a devoted daily galaxy app store searcher, please help do your part to help make this happen!
All that being said, please update this thread if you find an answer, and I will do the same. I plan on looking into Tizen Development before this year is over. There aren't many Tizen devs for some reason, but I don't think 5he platform is disappearing any time soon.

There's no way to directly invoke Google Assistant through the watch face designer; there's a keycode used to summon the Assistant on an Android phone, or it can be launched via intent, however it doesn't support passing extradata (ie, the query). Samsung have locked down the watch like they do with all their hardware, making it difficult to do some things that would at first appear simple.

Tizen is FOSS, unlike Android. While Samsung is the driving force behind Tizen, its source is available and contributed to by many other parties. That's the "Open" side of Tizen. The reality is that the Open Source software implemented on the Gear devices has been secured excellently by Samsung, which means there are hardcoded limitations which aren't mirrored in Android - eg, you can't initiate voice input to the phone via the watch.
Google Assistant as a standalone app on the Gear currently requires the user to pay for their queries (at an extremely low rate, however this is enough to dissuade many users nonetheless). The current best approach is to use a companion app to interface with the assistant.

Huawei GT2 and Voice Assistant

Hi everyone,
A voice assistant (like Google Assistant, Bixby, ...) is truly the only feature I miss on the GT2. Are there any known ways to install a voice assistant on the watch or somehow connect to the smartphone's Google Assistant from the watch?
I understand that by default the GT2 doesn't have an assistant and doesn't allow to install new apps. So one solution I had in mind was to develop an app for my phone that when initiating a call to a specific non-sense number would initiate a "conversation" with the phones GAssistant instead. Then one could just use the call functionality of the watch to set reminders etc.
But before I embark on a long and cumbersome project of developing such an app, I was hoping one of you might be able to point out a much easier solution that I have overlooked.
Does anything come to mind?
Thank you,
Henry
hi...I've been looking for something like that since the day I bought my GT2.
Is there any option found/created by you?
I started prototyping it initially and quickly learned that it's not trivial to do this on a non-rooted phone, because one would have to hijack the actual call audio. I don't have time to work on this at the moment, so I might have to look into it again at some future point. But if you implement a solution or find some other work-around, please let me know I'm still interested!

Open HMS for Huawei like Open GApps for Google?

Does anyone know of a replacement for Huawei Mobile Services, that would allow to use for instance the Health app without requiring a Huawei ID?
I have a Huawei Band 4 and the fitness band doesn't work without such app. Such app doesn't work without HMS. HMS requires you to login with a Huawei ID. I find this awful and I'm looking for alternatives.
P.S. there is an app on F-Droid called GadgetBridge which supports several types of fitness bands, but my Huawei Band 4 is not in the list. It needs a certain auth key in order to work with the device, and I don't have a clue how to get it, as all instructions are for Mi Band 4.
There was an RE effort, which resulted in a test GB version supporting Huawei devices. More info can be found here: https://codeberg.org/Freeyourgadget/Gadgetbridge/pulls/2462 .
