I have worked in a project involving a Samsung Gear Live, a Nexus 4 and a cloud service called Kii Cloud.
Since all the source code is available I thought that hackers in this particular Android Wear forum might want to take a look at it.
It uses a library called Teleport which facilitates communication between the watch and the phone.
I thought that it could be interesting for a scenario to monitor the elder and see if they're still ticking

It seems like the future of digital money will take on a new level with the new Nexus 2, as it will work on Android 2.3 (aka Gingerbread), containing a feature called ‘near field communication’ (NFC). This feature allows the phone to interact with NFC-enhanced devices, which basically means your phone could be used as a digital wallet to wirelessly pay for things in retail stores. Some say that this kind of technology will eventually replace credit cards, which I find a somewhat disturbing development. Google is already the emperor of the information age… what is going to happen if they will also have the data on financial transactions? Won’t we be giving in too much to Google’s power?

Is there a website or service that offers cloud storage for games or apps for free? What's the cheapest you know of? I just want to save game progress on the internet in case someone gets a new phone and wants to keep playing my game. Thanks!
Have you tried SkyDrive integration? I do believe our apps can talk to a user's skydrive that's linked to their Live ID and you can use that to store application data.

Personally I'd use the latter since it's the REST API wp7skydrive.codeplex.com was waiting to be out of beta for.
Personally, I find SkyDrive integration much easier than trying to facilitate my own service. What if my service went down or I couldn't make payments? My users would be SOL and if your app *requires* the service it could break certification requirements (not that MS is that strict on something that already passed).

Google announces its Android devices Wear wearable
In the midst of widespread devices wearable glasses and hours clever and others have become manufacturers in front of an urgent need to find a system of distinctive inoperable on these devices , which prompted Google to finally announce its new Android Wear your devices wearable .
Google announced via her blog on the Internet for its new Android Wear and allocated to the wearable devices and is derived from the system Ondorad your portable devices as they posted a promotional video for this system .

I've had a Sony sw2 for a couple of months now. I'm very happy with the device, it's a nice build, good size and has some cracking features not avalible on other smartwatch offerings.
Naturally as with any platform the hardware and it's possible features are one thing but ongoing software development is crucial.
I recently contacted Runtastic regarding the lack of basic functionality in their app (closes after timeout so has to be relaunched every time you want to view progress and doesn't use low power functionality). Unfortunately their response was to say that new functionality (or in my opinion basic necessary functionality) would require a complete rewrite and so at this time they have no plans to update their app for Sony support. They also mentioned that the issue is the multiple smartwatch platforms which they believe will be sorted by Android wear, a platform they are throwing themselves at.
Given Runtastic was flagship app for the device on launch my concern is that this spells out a pathway for many apps as support moves toward android wear. In reality Sony need to either commit to the new platform (android wear) and do something to comfort it's present watch owners or push for developers to truly accept their platform as viable and beneficial. If they can't even do this with partner apps like Runtastic, what does that mean for our watches future?

Don't buy runtastic. The sw2 does a good deal more than Android wear, but unfortunately Sony doesn't invest in the marketing for it. Not too many people have even heard of it, so devs don't want to focus on it. Best case scenario is that Android wear improves more in the future. The smartwatch industry is just in Flux right now. Be happy you got to appreciate the sw2 while everyone else was forced to talk into their watch (which requires a constant Internet connection as well).
The SW2 is sat in a wheelchair with a blanket over its straps, in the corner of the dayroom in 'We care so you don't have to' retirement home.

Runtastic doesn't need a complete re-write. That's bull. The app just needs a small line of code added. Runtastic was made when the Sony SDK did not allow low-power mode. Runtastic just never bothered to update their SW2 app after launching it.
Add some money to my bounty and someone with some know-how might take the time to figure out how to add the code for a mod.

I am a staunch user of Google and Samsung products. With the S3 running Tizen it seems as if I have lost the Google/Samsung marriage I have grown to love. In particular, I am very disappointed that I cannot choose Google assistant over S voice. S Voice seems 3 to 5 years behind Google assistant.
Is it likely that someone will connect Google assistant and the Gear S3?
I suspect it's very unlikely. Google assistant/OK Google is android wear's big selling point. I'm the same as you, I miss proper Google integration with voice and Gmail etc, but I find the gear s3 and the samsung ui to be much better. I'd love OK Google, Google maps and Gmail on the s3 but it won't happen.
@photojonny FYI "OK Google" is the only thing that is _actually_ missing from your list of desired features. you can get turn-by-turn Google Maps power directions for a few dollars in the Galaxy Gear app store by a third-party developer, but I'll admit it has mixed reviews (both the standalone and phone-powered versions). And Gmails pop up in real time via notifications, and there are probably Tizen apps for that too if not coming soon.
@Rkkerby I have poked around Samsung's "Gear Watch Face Designer" and I don't think it has the capability to incorporate calling the google assistant API or whatever. I think Samsung claims that Tizen OS is about as "open" as Android OS for developers, so the only thing stopping you from using Google Assistant on Your Samsung Gear is, well, you. Either as a developer or as a devoted daily galaxy app store searcher, please help do your part to help make this happen!
All that being said, please update this thread if you find an answer, and I will do the same. I plan on looking into Tizen Development before this year is over. There aren't many Tizen devs for some reason, but I don't think 5he platform is disappearing any time soon.

There's no way to directly invoke Google Assistant through the watch face designer; there's a keycode used to summon the Assistant on an Android phone, or it can be launched via intent, however it doesn't support passing extradata (ie, the query). Samsung have locked down the watch like they do with all their hardware, making it difficult to do some things that would at first appear simple.

Tizen is FOSS, unlike Android. While Samsung is the driving force behind Tizen, its source is available and contributed to by many other parties. That's the "Open" side of Tizen. The reality is that the Open Source software implemented on the Gear devices has been secured excellently by Samsung, which means there are hardcoded limitations which aren't mirrored in Android - eg, you can't initiate voice input to the phone via the watch.
Google Assistant as a standalone app on the Gear currently requires the user to pay for their queries (at an extremely low rate, however this is enough to dissuade many users nonetheless). The current best approach is to use a companion app to interface with the assistant.
