Good Job!

Great ROM. Can decrypt data with latest fbev2 twrp

What Gapps work with this? This is only the 2nd rom I've seen for this phone without Gapps baked in. The other was lineage with micro G. I was under the impression Gapps had to be baked in to get it to work on our device. I may be completely over thinking it, just wanted to ask for clarification just in case.

same here, love the ROM by the way...thanks for your hard work

Like the ROM so far. Thanks for the great work.
But the screen sometimes doesn't turn on. I took a log.
Also the raise to wake, raise to ambient and double tap to ambient are broken for me.
Also the back gesture vibration feels like double vibration. Which doesn't feel great imo.
And it would be nice to have color profile options like wide AMOLED gamut.
But again thanks for the work and your efforts.
Edit: screen turn on problem usually occurs with dt2w and sometimes with power button as well

Does this ROM pass SafetyNet? (Or can I make it do so?)

FAQ:
Before using the ROM:
Q. Can I have an ETA for the next build?
A. Yes, just look in the OP to see if your device is built on a nightly or weekly schedule.
Q. Does this ROM support custom kernels?
A. No. You can still use them, but discussion should go in the thread of the respective kernel. We don't offer support for bugs you might encounter while using them!
Q. Why doesn't this ROM support Xposed?
A. Xposed is a hack that is geared towards AOSP, custom ROM's modify the framework a lot, so Xposed can cause a ton of issues on custom ROM's. Now it might work for you, however it is not to be discussed in this thread, and you should refrain from posting bug reports.
Q. Alright, but I still want to flash Xposed, so which version do I need to install?
A. You will need to use the version arm64/arm/whatever for SDK 27.
Flashing the ROM:
Q. What do I need to know before flashing?
A. Check the install instructions in the first post...
Q. Can the builds be dirty flashed over each other?
A. Yes, however make a nandroid backup first as there is a chance of getting a bootloop or encountering bugs. Also bugs may only be reported on a clean flash.
Q. How do I dirty flash builds?
A. Wipe the System, Cache and ART/Dalvik cache. Flash the ROM, GApps (only needed if you wipe the system), your preferred root solution and reboot. Or just use the OTA app to preform that task for you.
Q. How do I flash kernel builds?
A1. If it's a .img file, boot into TWRP and go to the install page in TWRP, in the bottom right corner select "install image", select the desired kernel, then select "boot", then swipe to flash, then go back to the install screen and install your root method again, if you don't want to loose root and reboot.
A2. If it's a flashable ZIP, you can flash it together with a ROM update or separately. Go to the install page in TWRP, choose the kernel zip (or add it to the flash queue right after the ROM zip). Then add your root method to the queue if you don't want to loose root. Now swipe to flash, and then reboot.
Using the ROM:
Q. I installed a bad theme and now I'm getting a bootloop, how do I fix it?
A. In TWRP, flash the substratum rescue zip that's in the substratum folder on the internal storage.
Q. Do I need to provide a logcat if I'm reporting a bug?
A. If you want it to be fixed faster (or at all) then yes, you should definitely provide a logcat. (Note: Please just link the logcat from your GDrive, Dropbox, etc. and do not post the content here. Thanks.
Q. How do I get a logcat, what type should I get and more questions that can conveniently be answered by my pre-determined answer?
A1. Read this thoroughly. Also, here's a good app for getting logs: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tortel.syslog (Root needed).
The ROM should contain everything you need to enjoy Android. You don't need to install any Add-on's, simply download the latest ROM, GApps, flash it and go!
If you want the device to run the ROM "rooted", you can flash a root solution of your choice after the ROM Zipfile.
It is STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing and please avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup as this can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug.
If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience any strange behavior.
- Backup your personal data (Important)
- Download the ROM and GApps and transfer them to your device.
- Boot to recovery (TWRP recommended).
- Wipe the System, Cache, Data and ART/Dalvik cache.
- Flash the ROM + Gapps Zipfile.
- Flash the root solution of your choice (optional).
- Reboot your device.
The ROM has GApps persistence in between dirty flashes, so you only have to flash them once!
The root solution should be flashed together with every update (= ROM Update)
Currently Supported Root Solutions:
Magisk stable
Magisk versions higher than 14.0 doesn't require flash on every dirty flash depending on the device, some devices need you to flash it every time, unless your maintainer says otherwise it should be fine

Oh sorry for that, I thought hardware encryption was related to the FP bug which was present in early builds of some other Pie ROMs. Anyways, is that FP bug present?

i flashed this rom twice because i thought i made mistake while flashing it. But i followed all the steps while flashing it second time. after reboot i didn't connect my phone to WiFi, skipped the setup steps. VoLTE was working fine till 3-4 minutes because i didn't connect phone to WiFi. But as i connected it to WiFi, VoLTE symbol in status bar disappeared and calls, messages nothing was working. Then i again disconnected WiFi and after few seconds VoLTE symbol reappeared and call, messages started working.

Latest Q firmware or latest R? Or does it matter?
edit: no need for R firmware. I flashed directly from Resurrection Remix Q.
I noticed that the quickswitch gesture of swipe up and hold on the homescreen for recents doesn't work from just any part of the screen anymore. It only works if I swipe up from near bottom edge. Is this the normal behavior on Android R or is it just peculiar to this ROM?
edit2: NVM. Google changed the swipe up and hold behavior. You can no longer do it from midscreen in homescreen.

Do you have a step by step guide on how to install Magisk on R? I've tried 2 Android 11 Roms (Arrow, Shapeshift) and I always get bootloops when I install Magisk.

IDK what hapened to mine then. Firmware, maybe? I flashed 12.0.5 firmware on mine before this ROM. What did you do with yours? And yes, I did set that option through the Shapeshifter menu. But I would still like to have the notification for ease of access.

You should use latest firmware available for your region. Download it from HERE
12.0.5 is already the latest stable Q firmware for my region. Anyway I've reverted back to Q for now. The battery drain is too much on the R versions of Shapeshift and the Pixel Experience beta.

FIRST INSTALL:
1. Be sure you are using latest OOS11 on both slots.
2. Download this recovery.
2. A) Be sure you have unlocked bootloader
B) Reboot to bootloader
C) Plug your phone to your PC and do the following commands:
fastboot devices (this one to make sure your device is ok to flash)
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot reboot recovery
3. When on recovery (grab it on Downloads section above), select Factory Reset > format data
4. On this step, you can select either format scheme, F2FS or ext4 ( I highly recommend F2FS)
*THIS WILL WIPE ALL YOUR DATA, BACKUP YOUR *****
5. After format is done, click on the back arrow on top left, and click on "APPLY UPDATE", then "APPLY FROM ADB"
6. Now, on your PC, do the following command:
adb sideload *insert your derp zip package name here* (sometimes, you should get an error, that gives you an option to continue or not, hit "yes" to continue, that's normal)
7. After it's done, your phone should light up on recovery again, and on your terminal, it should have something like: adb failed to read command:no error.
That's normal, just reboot your phone via recovery and you are done
MAGISK:
1. Once your settled your phone, reboot to recovery.
2. Hit "APPLY UPDATE", then "APPLY FROM ADB"
3. On your PC, do the following command:
adb sideload *insert Magisk package name here*
4. Once it finishes, reboot your phone
*DIRTY FLASH (ONLY POSSIBLE IF YOU WERE ALREADY RUNNING AN OLD DERP BUILD):
1. Via OTA (Just hit to download and wait, once download finishes, let it reboot)
1. A) To keep Magisk, you can go to Magisk and select it to "INSTALL TO THE INACTIVE SLOT" before letting it reboot (not supported on A12 for now)
2. Via ADB Sideload.
2. A) Reboot to recovery
B) Select 'APPLY UPDATE', then "APPLY FROM ADB"
C) On your PC, do the following command:
adb sideload *insert your derp zip package name here*
D) Once it's done, reboot.
To keep Magisk, you will need to repeat the steps on *MAGISK* section

If you are coming from custom rom just flash zip with twrp, if you are coming from oos : fastboot flash system_ext_a or (b) system_ext.img. I posted a video in yaap telegram chat. If you get crash dump after flashing from oos to new a11 just change slots and reboot. Make sure to flash the rom on both slots. A11 system has this new system_ext partition and will be present in every rom coming foward. Since a10 doesn't have that partition then it has to be created. Recommended you check the yaap telegram for the video I posted

Also just to make it work install elemental kernel manager and enable double tap to wake and it will start working it seems like the setting is not getting turned on by default in settings, minor bug.

Don't know about g paysince I don't use it, but it does pass safety net if you use magisk hide prop, by decrypt it works to decrypt data just as any other a11 rom use pattern instead of pin and it will decrypt data in twrp. About the bug, The only two I have found is the double tap to wake which I posted the fix to using elemental kernel manager or any kernel manager that lets you activate double tap to wake, and the gboard bug when using hide gesture bar which will leave a space at the bottom and it's not present if you use other keyboards like swift. Besides that it's solid and working great been running it's for days, now I'm running the devs new evo x build which has tons of goodies.
Work very good faceunlock.. i Love it. Ist a TG Group available die Updates?

Appreciate if you could share battery statistic.
It's well known that kernel 4.x is power hungry, even when idle.
Thank you.
Maybe my question is a little bit off topic, but can please someone tell me: Is it known if Google can or will ban accounts when using a phone which spoofs to be a pixel to get unlimited storage on Google photos?

Surely not. I use a rom that spoofs it on my main phone and nothing ever happened. Like if Google Photos wont detect that (which im sure that google is trying to do so to not get cheated on like that), then how would they? If it would detect somehow, it would just switch back to counting it to your quota. No reason for banning.
The fingerprint scanner Goodix does not work in some applications. In several unofficial firmware based on the Pixel Experience project, this problem has already been solved

Flashed the rom two days ago and much appreciate the work done, the battery, animations, performance all are working at their best.
Bug:
1. VoLTE not working
2.Audio/Video keeps freezing after every 3-5 seconds.
Potential solution - Turn off Hey Google
Settings>>Google>>Settings for Google apps>>Search, assistant and voice>> Voice>> Voice match>> Turn off "Hey Google".
Worked for me, hoping to get this bug solved in next update!
Keep doing great work!!
