Thanks for this. Can you tell me if the transcripts for screened calls are available with this?

I'm not sure if call screen saves the transcript, but I've interacted with live transcriptions with multiple responses. You can see my screenshots in the other call screen thread.

No idea. I'll maybe look into it. But it's not something that immediately hits me as "hey I can do that". I'm incredibly lazy and stoned a lot (stage 3 colon cancer survivor). So keep that in mind lol

Well dang, I still can't get call screening even with this. That's the only feature I truly missed when I left pixel 2 xl for a op7pro. I just have the worst luck trying to get it back.
Also I had a super nice stable device on 9.5.13 with root and a lot of nice things and the only reason I even went to 10 was the other thread said it was working on 10 and xxx said it worked on 10 and now I've been on 10.0.1 for 3 days and it's the buggiest thing I've used ever

It's incompatible with your set up or you didn't follow the directions. (I'm not angry). But I've posted screenshots proving it works
So try eliminating variables till it works.

Well I am on the T-Mobile version converted to international so mine is the gm1915 which you already said might not work. I completely clearer out every magisk module I had, rebooted to a stock rooted phone and things were fine, installed your first module, rebooted things were fine, installed the companion module and get a bootloop. Thankfully I have twrp and uninstalled the companion module and now it boots. I just have a gut feeling it's not going to work on here and I REALLY hate wiping my data so I'm just going to wait and see if someone else makes a breakthrough on the gm1915 model

Well you didn't follow the instructions. You didn't install Google phone. Please reread.
If you don't install Google phone before flashing the companion. It won't boot.
I provided clear instructions. Follow them and you'll get call screen.
How to install (Magisk Manager or TWRP):
0. Uninstall kirisakura kernel companion, it's included.
1. Install "Anxious7Pro_v*.zip".
2. Reboot.
3. Install google phone apk from apkmirror or just use the apk in the companion module.
4. Set up google phone, i.e. grant all permissions (including "Draw over other apps" and "Modify system settings"), set as default phone app, open app and set up available features.
5. Install "Anxious7ProCompanion_v*.zip".
6. Reboot.
7. Profit.
Also you should pretty much always have BusyBox installed if you're rooted.

You should follow the instructions. If it says install Google phone, you should do that. If it's already installed that means you should uninstall to install. And it's just a handful of shell script commands. It is NOT the issue.
I'm not trying to be difficult. But you've twice not followed the instructions. If you don't follow them. It won't work.
The instructions were set up specifically for this. The non-boot that is caused by Google phone being installed as a system app prior to being a user app. I have no idea why in hell that would cause a non-boot. But it does. As I said I am very lazy. I did everything I could to make this a one and done module. So I wouldn't have to provide much support.
Kirisakira companion is listed as feature but I actually rewrote it and that will probably be put into the original mod from freak07. It's just to emphasize not needing to install both.

I think it's ridiculous it requires instructions but it's the only consistent way I've found to get all the listed features working. Please please please ? ?? read them carefully and follow them. Meaning the below paragraph is the ridiculous part btw.
It makes no sense Google phone causes a non-boot when installed as system app first. Even in a module by itself. It causes that.
I spent a week figuring out the easiest way to do this. And I got it down to under 10 steps. Please follow them.
I even spent time leanring how the unity module template works ecause the companion module is unity. And I'm really lazy.
Simplified instructions
How to install (Magisk Manager or TWRP):
0. Uninstall Kirisakura kernel companion and Google Phone, if both/either are installed. Reboot if you uninstalled.
1. Install "Anxious7Pro_v*.zip".
2. Reboot.
3. Install google phone apk from apkmirror or just use the apk inside the companion module.
4. Set up google phone, i.e. grant all permissions (including "Draw over other apps" and "Modify system settings"), set as default phone app, open app and set up available features.
5. Install "Anxious7ProCompanion_v*.zip".
6. Reboot.
7. Profit.
If you don't follow the instructions, you'll probably end up in a non-boot/bootloop.

@TotallyAnxious I will post here. I will be doing clean install of Beta 4 in a couple of hours, and post feedback here. One question though... I am a beta tester for Google Phone. Should I not use it, and instead install the nodpi version of latest .APK that you linked?

Didn't you just confirm it works with that screenshot? And I use beta too. But I have stable in the companion module and you can use any verison. I just don't want to provide a non stable starting point. I get less issues reported that way haha you'll learn overtime I consider how to minimize the effort I need to put into support beyond the OP. I'm incredibly lazy.

AdAway (Fully working) with tutorial

Root is required for this application. Thanks to DesignGears & Chainfire for putting in the work for root to be on our phones.
Please try method 1 and 2 before posting that it doesn't work. Let me know which one worked for you in the comments.
_________________________________
Method 1 :
Download FDroid from this link - https://f-droid.org/FDroid.apk
Open FDroid and download AdAway.
Some have reported that this AdAway will install the host file without any issues.
_________________________________
Method 2 :
Download AdAway here - http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23060877490004670
(All credit for the link goes to mrRobinson)
After you have installed and opened the app -
Click "Download files and apply ad blocking"
The app is going to crash, don't worry!
Re-open the application and click "Download files and apply ad blocking" again
This time it will give you a pop up saying "Copying of host file failed", once again don't worry!
Now click the refresh button in the top right, and now for the last time click "Download files and apply ad blocking"
You will now be told that it was successful and to restart.
This is how I got it to work, I apologize if it does not work on your device.
Please click the thanks button if this worked for you.

I downloaded my AdAway from f-Droid, but I've seen the same crash behavior.
After the crash, the download and apply worked on the first try.
(The first time, I had to flash back to stock and re-root. The second time applying AdAway blocking took a couple of tries before it went through (6 more specifically))
you can try adaway 2.3 official
or
AdAway-release_Build-10.09.13
the new release is working like a charm

Thanks for the feedback. I will update the thread to have both methods shortly
I've found supersu leaving dozens of sudaemon's around which sometimes breaks root entirely (until you reboot) or sometimes you can manage to get su to work and then kill apps.
Adaway seems to potentially be a leading cause of this, or maybe it's just the obvious victim, I'm not sure. But I often find it's complaining it could not apply the hosts file, so I get into a shell, find a bunch of stray sudaemon's, kill them, then it's happy again.
I think there's still some tweaking that can be done for su on 4.3.
All I did was install Fdroid, then
Go into to terminal and type this
su
restorecon -R -v /data/data
Then install adaway and run as normal

Just a quick heads-up. I used FDroid to install AdAway yesterday...no problems, loaded first time and enabled without a hitch. A word to the less experienced Android (Note 3) flashers like myself.

Tried hundered of ways here as well,
Mine just keeps asking to install the damn driver all the time mate, and even if installed, after reboot - it just asks again to install/update the driver again.
Tried with the su.policy zip flash as well. Still cant get it to work!
Tried with the MM compatible newest APK and placed it in Priv-app. Guess that's what you did too. Cant figure out what I'm missing here.
It happens to me also. That means you did NOT properly root device.Error with constant driver install is because busybox..I rerooted device ,wiped data for SU, and granted permission to busybox again.DO NOT use any other Viper app then original one from thread !

Do you copy v4a to priv-apps? Where from? What permissions? And about busy box: when I open it it shows me that it is installed in su/xbin... in what folder did you install busybox? And one about reroot: did you go to su and choose: full unroot before flashing su again? And what about mount namespaces: checked or unchecked in su? Have to tell you that I've tried so much different ways and still v4a doesn't work. I would love to try your way but please put some lights here. Thanks!

I've tried my best, in all possible variables and finally decided to give up after wasting 3 straight days of a perfect weekend.
My Driver just doesn't stick and I've tried all alternative installation methods. I've kept backups of system/*.* so all damages were reversed without any flashing. Root, Busybox everything runs perfectly and tested everything for integrity.
So far I've cornered the issue to Systemless Root, which seems to be the only entity having issues with v4a. Until a proper answer is digged up, I'm gonna stick with my Note 5 which has this working on System-Mode Root. (The driver didn't stick on the Note 5 when I tried to use it with System-less) Luckily the Note 5 is still on LP, with Su 2.64.
Good Luck to those who are trying, and thanks to all who helped!

Yes. Actually there is a perfect package from @guitardedhero. You have to be rooted, busyboxed, twrp'ed. Flash this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3701983&d=1459364213
It is Viper Atmos Sony Beats edition working beautifully on ny S7E. Three more step to do after flashing: 1. freeze SoundAlive and AdaptSound, reboot. 2. go to system preferences and check whether Viper has memory access granted. 3. go to SuperSu and DISABLE 'Mount namespace separation', reboot. Done!
Btw. If you want to play with Profiles inside Viper, go to your internal memory using root explorer and inside Viper folder create folder called 'Profiles'.
Btw2. 6.0.1new abowe destroy your conf files. Hope you have backup.
Better flash @guitardedhero mod on fresh rooted rom. hope you enjoy.
Btw3. Sound is AMAZING!

Thanks for your reply!
Just after I asked for help here, i found a driverless package from @guitardedhero that worked! Glad to know you did it too, mate! :highfive:
Working but 10 second later turn normal mod
Why do you think's going on?
For example in youtube, 10 second viber4android active, later deactivate.

Goodbye Pokemon Go- ROOT no play. Update 0.37. (Solved)

Hi.
I just read that you will no longer be able to play Pokemon Go if your phone is has root.
Can someone confirm this? If so.. They have just shot themselves in the foot.
"Ahead of the Pokemon Go Plus launching next week, Niantic (unsurprisingly) is now pushing out a new update to the app that brings support for the accessory, along with a few other goodies. Last week, they announced that a new Buddy system would be added in a future update, a feature you’ll be able to enjoy in this latest release (version 0.37.0). Here’s the full changelog:
Implemented Buddy Pokémon: Trainers will now be able to choose one of their Pokémon to be their buddy. A Trainer can earn Candy for their Buddy Pokémon by walking a certain distance.
Made it easier to select smaller Pokémon on the screen.
Fixed an issue where Eggs would sometimes hatch without displaying the animation.
Improved performance reliability when a device switches networks to no longer cause the application to hang or stop updating.
Pokémon GO Plus support
Minor text fixes.
The exact distance you’ll have to walk Pokemon to gain candies — and the exact amount received — still hasn’t been determined. It sounds like they’ve finally been patching a few annoying bugs and although it wasn’t mentioned in the changelog, we hope the annoying way sounds gets muted whenever you receive a notification has been fixed as well.
In an effort to crack down on the amount of bots, scrapers, and cheating their way through the game, Niantic is also making the controversial move to prevent rooted or jailbroken users from playing the game. It’s unfortunate for those with rooted devices playing the game legit, but since this is how GPS spoofers are cheating — and ruining the game for others — it was a logical move.
It could take awhile before you see the update hit the Play Store on your Android device, so don’t freak out if you don’t see it right away. We’re sure it’s just a matter of time before the APK appears and once it does, we’ll post here for you guys."

This is the right xposed for Magisk.
Xposed v86.5
And the Material Design Xposed Installer
1. Unroot completely and i do mean completely
2. Flash Magisk
3. (Optional flash xposed)
4. Wipe Dalvik/Cache
5. When you reboot don't let the kernel reroot.
6. When booted flash the rest.
7. Use Magisk app to turn off root
8. Play Pokémon 0.37

Well, I wont update until it is in the playstore.. I guess I will find out then
EDIT: I am too curious so I tried to update the app and IT IS WORKING WITH MAGISK ROOT

How and can i use it with my rom and kernel in my sig?
Only a matter of time until they figure a way to block Magisk too. They're just overreacting anyway. Ingress blocks GPS spoofing, why can't this game do it too? I've seen it firsthand, Ingress just says "idk where you are you're using FakeGPS, sorry"
How do I install Magisk anyway?
With Magisk if it works smoothly .. .. because it uses the verification that has Android Pay ..
PoGo is much more popular than Android Pay, but I don't imagine many rooters will give up their root to play a game.
Niantic, and by extension, Google, just upped the ante in the arms race. Things are going to get ugly.
wow i actually liked the game but i guess this gives me more time to look at nature

Niantic made Ingress...and Ingress blocks GPS spoofing, even in the way that it works in Pokemon Go. Why can't they just fix that and not eff with rooted users?

Question... Can't I just uncheck root in SuperSU's settings and run it that way? (I have not gotten the new update yet so I'm asking beforehand). Magisk appears to have this option. Or do I need to totally uninstall SuperSU by dirty flashing the ROM again, and not SuperSU?

Simply unchecking root will not work. You have to use systemless root

So by completely unroot...Can I accomplish this by going into TWRP, clearing cache/dalvik, flashing again the ROM, GApps, kernel and skipping SuperSU..then installing Magisk? I really don't want to have to do a clean install just for this.
Unless you want to do a clean install skip ROM, Gapps and kernel.
Do a unroot in SuperSU. Then look for root-files in system. Like the OP in Magisk says.
After that install Magisk in TWRP.

How to remove Viper4android drivers

Hi all, I've had quite a few issues with Viper4android, including extreme battery drain (since installing my phone will drain from 80% to 0% overnight with no use), and inconsistent volume in various apps (Spotify only has about 60% volume output with random bursts to 100%).
How can I remove all of its components and revert back to stock? I'm guessing it's more involved than just reflashing the stock rom, perhaps I need radio files + others too
My phone is a Samsung s6 edge plus (SM-G928i).
Thank you all, and apologies if this is in the wrong place!

Actually, its much easier than reflashing your ROM (though that would work fine too)
All you have to do is hit the menu button/3 dot icons>uninstall drivers>reboot. And you're done.

This just removes the drivers, uninstalling the app after removing drivers and re-enabling your stock audio(if you had to remove/disable it), this should put you back to stock.

By extracting a copy of the audioFX apk from your stock firmware
Or
By extracting it from a nandroid backup if you have one
Or
Find someone with your device and have them upload a copy of it.
Or
Find a copy with a Google search for:
"Audiofx.apk(or whatever the stock audio is called on your device) for (your model number and firmware version)
FYI, you would have had to manually remove or disable your stock audio yourself. It wouldn't have happened automatically, so if you yourself didn't remove/disable it then you probably don't have anything to worry about.

Did you flash V4A via recovery? Or did you install the app manually?
If you don't see the stock Equalizer in your app drawer then it was probably removed during installation of V4A (when done via recovery) but if it was installed manually then the equalizer app should still be installed/visible in your app drawer. All you have to do is open the app and toggle the on/off button.
If the app was removed though, you'll have to reflash your ROM to get it back.
NB 1. If stock EQ was already enabled, you might wanna disable it and give V4A another shot. As I've personally experienced issues with both of them enabled.
NB 2. Uninstalling the drivers practically kills the app. But you can go ahead and uninstall it as recommended by @Droidriven

Yep, my installations on all devices I've had have been via app which required me manually removing/disabling stock audio.
I've encountered installations on some devices that required using terminal emulator or adb shell to implement correctly, slightly tricky stuff that I don't remember the details for.

I'm guessing your stock EQ was deleted then.
Just flash your ROM and you should be fine. Keep in mind though that any other additions/modifications you made to your system partition will be overwritten.
Uninstall Flashed App - Viper4Android
Hey folks,
I am new to xda and so this question might not be appropriate for this particular thread -- I don't know, I guess I'll take my chance. So, upon rooting my android device last week I went ahead and downloaded the Viper4Android audio enhancer as a zip, and installed it through the TWRP recovery terminal. This flashed the app on the phone drive. However, the Viper4Android driver is not installing properly and all my attempts to fix that are going in vain, thus I think the best solution is to uninstall the app and install a new package following a specific xda thread instructions to the letter. So my question is how do I uninstall a flashed app? I can't seem to find the app folder when the installation files are located. The app is present in my app menu. I am a root user and have directory apps like Root Explorer, Magisk Manager, BusyBox, RomToolbox etc. Btw, I've read most of this thread, and it mainly discusses the removal of the drivers. (Which I presume never installed in my phone anyways, as Viper4Android never worked -- hence why I am looking to uninstall the whole thing, and try anew). I have a Moto g5 plus.
How should I proceed? What's the best tool to uninstall a flashed Viper4Android App?
Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks,

[MAGISK] Andromeda Enabler - Enable Andromeda ON DEVICE With a Command!

Hello, folks! I've written a Magisk Module which includes a modified version of the Linux activation script for Andromeda, allowing you to enable Andromeda with a single command (two, if you count su)! I was inspired by the OTHER local Andromeda enabler script here on XDA, as I had downloaded it but discovered that it only worked intermittently on my device. Now, I know, you may be thinking to yourself "OP, is there something wrong with you? Andromeda exists so you DON'T have to be rooted!" Yes, this is true. However, from what I've gathered, there is a speed boost from using Andromeda, and that alone makes this worth it for me, and hopefully others. Plus, I was bored and wanted to see if I could make it work.
This module is written to work with Magisk v15. It will NOT work on Magisk v14, however, it is a single binary, so you could very easily extract it and place it on your phone or make a v14 module yourself.
To activate Andromeda, all you have to do is install this module, reboot, launch a Terminal Emulator, and type:
Code:
su
andromeda
Substratum should launch with Andromeda permissions, as if you'd used the Desktop Application.
@saccentekennedy has made an app! Flash the module, install his app, and when you launch his app, it will grant Andromeda permissions! No commands needed! Be sure to thank his post!

UPDATE 1/12/2018 - The script did not properly set SELinux back to Enforcing, this is now fixed. Please update! Thanks to @Floydfire for the heads up
Works perfectly!
I've created a Tasker task to run this... But I can't figure out how to trigger it. In other words, how can I get Tasker to detect that the Andromeda isn't properly running and connected? I know I get a notification when the service goes down. I suppose I could use this as a trigger? Any thoughts?

You could potentially use AutoNotifications with Tasker to detect the notification but I'd probably just set the trigger to the device booting or being unlocked, or make a widget with an app, like SManager, so you can just tap it.
I created a little app with Tasker. It works. I've used Tasker plenty but never created an app. Anyway, I don't know if this will work for anyone else, but this works for me at least
You need the Magisk module installed, BTW.

Yup! My first app. Lol.
So congrats this is very interesting!
I'm curious, though.. I'm rooted and I've got substratum and magisk 15.x installed (current version). I purchased and installed Andromeda. I downloaded and installed y'alls zip and the apk. Is there a way to check that it's working properly? What I do have is the module in magisk is enabled but the actual Andromeda app keeps closing when I tap it (wasn't sure if it was even supposed to be opened or if it was a background app)

When you launch it, Andromeda mode should be activated and you can just launch Substratum. You can check if Andromeda mode is on by checking under the Substratum settings. Under System Certification it should say Andromeda mode (Certified). Substratum should also launch after you launch the Andromeda app included here

Yes the terminal emulator works. I was just hoping the app would work to survive a reboot (which I do frequently) I'm just lazy!

Do you own Tasker? If you do, I actually made a profile to enable Andromeda whenever I launch Substratum, and I'll upload it if anyone is interested. I don't know how to make an application-triggered task into an app, though.

I have noticed that I can't seem to use this module alongside anything else that also adds to /system/xbin (specifically "Busybox for Android NDK" by osm0sis). Only one seems to stick. I don't know if that's just a side effect of the way magisk works or an issue with one of the scripts. Could anyone provide any insight into this issue?

I honestly have no idea. It might just be a quirk of the Pixels or something. I have no idea how to fix it. I'll look into it a little to see if something obvious is happening and I'm missing it, but no problems. Can you share your Magisk Log?
