Share your case. - Sony Xperia 1 Accessories

Hi, I usually don't use cases as I don't see a point of buying a beautiful phone for a lot of money just to cover it with an ugly case. However Xperia 1 is so slippery that unfortunately I will have to buy a case or it won't last long.
Could you guys share the cases you use, preferably with some photos. I don't think there is a lot of choice at the moment as the device is relatively new, nevertheless new models coming out daily and won't hurt if we have a thread to showcase our purchases.
Personally I always buy the thinnest case possible. My previous device was pixel 2 xl and this was a case I had:
Fone-Stuff[emoji2400] Google Pixel 2 XL Case, Ultra-Thin 0.3mm Stylish Fully Protective Case Cover, Thinnest Hard Back Cover, Super Slim Matte Finish Extra Camera Protection, White https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0777QHGSV/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_4YCiDbSQX2SDP
Very thin and I liked it very much. Unfortunately I can't find anything similar for the xperia 1, ordered this one:
Olixar - Clear Case Compatible with Sony Xperia 1 - Slim Gel - Ultra Thin Transparent Cover - 100% Crystal Clear - Flexible Slim Protection - Non Slip - Clear https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07M7DNG16/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_U0CiDbK7BXF7D
Unfortunately, despite claiming to be ultra thin it's actually a regular silicon case.
Looking forward to your recommendations.

Interesting post, I will not put a case in it since I have a good grip on it thank to its really narrowness, and it feels far less slippery than my previous mate 10 pro. But I'm interested to see what you guys choosed.
Problem with transparent case is they stay transparent for like 3 months then turn yellowish.
The sony case is just overpriced at 57€ and heavy (+60g).
I just hope the paint on the edge will last long. The back with gorilla glass 6 should resist well. But I hope edge paint is epoxy or strong like this.
I found out a lot of case for Xperia 1 are labeled for Xperia XZ4. It adds other options when you search for it.

I bought this.
https://www.amazon.it/gp/product/B07RW7TM9Z/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It consists of a gel case and a glass film. It took two weeks to arrive, then I only use it occasionally, I prefer bare contact in the end, I threw the front glass because there are halos in the thin part of the front curve, unacceptable.

I bought this one few days ago:
SLEO Case for Sony Xperia 1 Case - Rubberized Hard PC Back Case Cover for Sony Xperia 1 - Black https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07KXJ2SQ8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_qp5kDbNYE7JT4
Very happy with it. Very minimal, how I like it. Only downside is that it's almost as slippery as the phone itself.

The case is not included in all units, only for the J9110 units.

Bought this one few weeks ago:

Really slim and strong
Fits perfect

Just had this case delivered. Nillkin super frosted shield. Fantastic fit and finish. Feels great on the phone. Best case yet, far nicer feel than the TPU cases which in my opinion end up feeling greasy and dirty.

Don't generally buy cases anymore and haven't bought one for the Xperia 1 either however, I've used Nilkin cases in the past and they have always been of good quality and fit very well. That is the case I'd go for this time if i was going to get one.

Check these out: (from a Japanese case maker, the total price including shipping to my country is still cheaper than the cheapest UAG case)
Black: https://global.rakuten.com/en/store/compmoto-r/item/4549550129305/
Red: https://global.rakuten.com/en/store/compmoto-r/item/4549550129312/

Picked up this slim case https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07T34TPYB/ref=twister_B07W1VLKTW?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 in red
I don't like bulky cases. I got it because I wanted open access to the buttons so the half-press camera button will work just fine.
It is smooth and a bit slippery actually. No drop protection (what do you expect). Pretty good for the price. The other colors like gravel green will have more of a standstone finish though

The rasta banana case is great!

Another case I picked up on Amazon.
The Aeska clear TPU case
Pros:
- Grippy
- Cheap
- 3 colors (purple, black and clear)
- Easy to access the FP scanner (it's not deep)
Cons:
- You lose the camera shutter button feel. Hard to determine the half press
- Power button also a little more difficult to press now.

This basic hard clear PC case is my favorite.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/For-Sony-X...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649
Pros:
- Clear
- Slim, so no bulk!
- Open, easy accessible sides for buttons
- Cheap
Cons:
- Picks up grease/oils from your fingers
- Not very protective

I have just purchased it (zeroshock black) from Amazon Japan directly with international shipping, looks promising.

Got this case for my recently acquired X1:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MBMPQBN/
It's a little pricey for such a basic thin case, but I didn't want to use my phone without a case, and AliExpress would've taken a month to deliver.
Contrary to popular opinion, I actually like the exposed top/bottom of the phone, since the case doesn't wrap around the entire frame, it's not that bulky and I really like thin and minimal cases. No weird branding on the back like many other cases have.
I got it in 'Smooth Black', but I probably should've gotten 'Matte Black' which may have been less slippery than this.
Since it was a really nice case, I might get the blue or green one if I eventually get bored of this all black look.

i hate this case...caus it feels so weird in hand while the phone is not fully framed
i like to get this one from Black Rock i have for my S9 ultra sin

This is similar.

[UserReview] (eBay)Mybat Hard Hybrid Case

This is a case I got from eBay, its a Hard Hybrid Case. Brand is Mybat which is a probably a generic case maker from China .
Where to get it:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=360559673384&refid=store
If you want to see the other cases they have, check here:
http://www.auctiva.com/stores/viewstore2.aspx?id=1621556&page=home&search=nexus 4
This one in particular is called: LG Nexus 4 E960 Hard Hybrid Case Black/ Black Cover Frosted Fusion Mb
I give it about:
8.5/10 -- Material - Surprisingly feels good, kinda like the Diztronic
9.0/10 -- Grip - Doesn't slide off, not bigger than the Official bumper so for you can still touch the other side of the screen with no effort.
7.5/10 -- Ease for button - There is a slight bit more spacing for the buttons and might make a slight clicking sound when pressed.
8.0/10 -- Snug fit/Hole openings - The cut outs are alright, if you don't push it in all the way it may have a slight gap.
8.0/10 -- Style/Look
7.0/10 -- Protection - The hard part of the case doesn't cover the edges but should be able to absorb some shock.
Pros: Adds decent protection, not for 500ft drops though.
Cons: The back material does attract oily hands and the top side as well as the bottom side of the soft part also attracts dust, not a biggy for me, also the top and bottom lips have that rubber band feeling but it doesnt look like its flimsy unless you pull on it.
Price/Value 8/10 - Reason why is, its a nice case and it will offer good protection for the phone, I just see it as a good case for maybe $5.95ish> range and not $10. They do have the other Hybrid Hard case with a kick stand and holster that looked pretty decent.
Overall I like it better than the S-line tpu that I got on day one lol and I feel it has more protection and I actually worry about it less than when I had the s-line (could be a bad thing?). I had the original bumper but I couldn't get use to the extra width, so for a no-name brand.. its not bad at all. They also have a lot of other designs that just came out.
Shipping was free but I ordered on a Sunday, came on a Saturday from CA to FL so yeah.. expedited shipping my ass! lol :silly:
TL;DR: good hybrid case, nothing too fancy

The back feels nice (kinda like diztronic or the non glossy part of the s-line tpu) and I can get a firm grip without it slipping. Since the inner is the soft rubbery part it fits nicely but if you're someone who pulls the phone out of your pocket by the tip and not the screen or sides then you might pull on it too hard.
I've only used it for one full day and it feels pretty solid :good:
thanks for the review !

yeah, there are a few cases out/coming out that are a bit more rugged but this one seems to be good in style as its all black (color preference) and smooth, the double layering also provides good enough protection for regular everyday use. :good:
Nice case, but I don't think it's worth that price.
Yep agree with you. I said in the review that I would probably pay $6 at most not $10 lol too many cases that are pieces of plastic and charging a bit. I'm waiting for the other ringke but if user reviews suck I'll prolly stick to this one a little longer.

Are you still using it?
How are the buttons?
Between this and the diztronic what would you choose?
With shipping to Portugal this is about 23 dollars and the diztronic 18 dollars
Looks like a solid case. Thanks buddy
I bought this case a few weeks ago and have been using it since then and am pretty happy.
Pros:
Feels nice.
Decent drop protection.
Decent price when compared to similar cases.
Doesn't stick in my pocket like an otterbox would.
Cons:
Plastic seems to be stretching.
Doesn't fit 100%. My chrome on the top and bottom is starting to show.
The volume / power buttons seem a little off center.
Decent case for a decent price if you want a bit of protection.

Honestly I'm using the ringke fusion now but from time to time I'll swap. My bro uses the diztonic and says he likes it. The buttons on these are alright. They don't have the best design but they do offer decent protection.

THIN case

Whats the thinnest case you have found for the S4? I've been looking at various cases, and they are all so thick ( I usually go naked.. ) but I would like to put something over it for drop protection ( so no, skins don't work ). And don't suggest any of the crap offered by SPIGEN, I'm done with that worthless company ( ALL support issues with them ).
ITSkins has the ghost and Zero.3, but neither is available STILL ( they where suppose to be on the 15th ) and you can't pre-order them either....
Everything else i find just says "Thin" or some other wonderful adj, I'd like a number and facts. Thin is subjective....

I have the case mate barely there case. I have to say, it feels so nice in the hand.. Because of the matt finish. Better than any other case I had. And I also had the spigen neo hybrid. The look is also casual. Really like the style.
Here some foto's I just took.
Hope it helps.

After everything I have read about Spigen, I am very hesitant to buy one of their products. The casemate looks pretty nice, but I don't like the openings on the top and bottom. I want a thin/light case, but I want a little bit of fall protection in it.
I've just got this one, loving it so far.

Serious recommendation: I was in the same boat, and didn't think I would find anything I liked. I happened to be browsing at BestBuy while my wife picked out case. I noticed some RocketFish branded cases that look really slim. Asked if I could try one on my phone and it fit like a glove, barely added any size to it, but definitely makes it feel like I'm not going to accidentally fling the phone across the roam just taking it out of my pocket.
I also have the Ringke Rearth ultra slim case - which was not only the thinnest I've seen, but also very cheap!
I keep the Spigen Neo-Hybrid case on my phone though - I had an S3 get nicked up at the bottom where the ultra thin rearth case didn't cover. Outside of the neo-hybrid I think the rearth cases are my favorites - considering I bought one for my S4 immediately and had one for my S3 I'd feel confident suggesting it.
I purchased both the Ringke Rearth Slim and the Spigen Neo Hybrid. While the Spigen looks nice it really does add a lot of width to the phone. The Ringke is easily the slimmest case that I have used for any phone. Not to mention it only cost $2. The matte black has also been great for adding grip. My only complaint is that the Ringke case is very difficult to remove.
I have a Spigen Ultrafit. Its pretty darn thin.
I like the matte finish.
Spigen Ultrafit
Edit: it is just thick enough the effectively recess the buttons to protect them from drops, plus it works with a tempered glass screen protector. AND...its only $10 shipped with Prime.
what is the point of cases that dont cover the top and bottom? my dad's s3 has one of those and it got destroyed on the bottom from a small drop

It would have to hit a very uneven surface...the corners are protected. You would have to drop in on gravel or a curb or something like a car door sill. If you drop in on tile or flat concrete it is impossible to hit the edge because of the gap created by the corners. I prefer minimal protection. My main concern is really protecting the corners back and front since those are what are going to hit 99% of the time. And the buttons...you can break the board connections (trust me I know, lol) if the phone lands on its buttons. I actually was thinking of going naked since the battery door can be replaced so easily and it is the entire back. Just a screen protector and a replaceable back. I have insurance. Also, I am a middle aged dad...I am not in the situations that you would drop a phone that often.
All that being said I will probably get another case at some point just because, lol.
I have the Body Glove phone case. Made of soft rubber for a nice all around grip. I purchased it at Walmart for $15. Link is for image of the case.

I had this case for my S3 and loved it......anyone know if there's a case just like this for the S4? I keep my phone in my pocket so I prefer the headphone jack and the charging port to be covered unless I'm using them.

I have the Ringke. It is very thin. I don't feel like it would do anything to prevent the screen from cracking. It would prevent scratches to the back though.
I now have a Chinese knock off neo hybrid. Add with the genuine. .. Pretty thin on the back but it does make the phone wider. I do feel like this will help obsorb shock in a fall.

Slimmest Case Available for the S6

If I end up getting an S6, I'll probably want the slimmest case possible since I won't need uber-protection nor do I wish to add a lot more bulk.
These are the three I'm currently considering:
1) Obliq Ultra Slim Fit

}
2) Spigen Galaxy Slim Fit
http://www.amazon.com/Galaxy-Spigen...UTF8&qid=1426904642&sr=8-6&keywords=spigen+s6
3) Ringke SLIM case
http://www.amazon.com/Galaxy-S6-Cas...e=UTF8&qid=1427082439&sr=8-2&keywords=slim+s6
And just an FYI - I bought a Ringke SLIM case for my Note 4 and what I noticed was that it leaves scratch marks when you try to remove it.
I now use my Note 4 naked, but for the S6 I don't think that's the way I'll go, especially with all that glass material and the phone itself being such a finger print magnet.
Let me know which slim cases you're considering and if there's others out there.
the slimmest would be the Spigen Ultra thin, http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00QU4N7AK/, which Spigen claims to be the "thinnest on the market"

So, basically, what you're saying is that the "clickity click" feel when you press the button is still solid and pronounced?
May have to give it a try then...
the obliq slim case for this phone looks extremely nice. i'm probably going to pick that one up as it offers protection on top corners for the phone and fits snug all around it. just my opinion
Obliq went down to 9.99 on Amazon
Picked up that and spigen to test them out. Will return one of them
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xqWezjnJOZI
This one looks really slim! The Smoke-White version on a white Galaxy S6 looks amazing and also invisible! I just don't like the logo on the side, i wish they didn't put any logo on it... If i buy a 700€ phone, then i really don't need the logo of a 10$ case on it.

Any suggestions?

the Spigen Neo Hybrid is probably one of the best cases because it's fairly thin, has nice "clicky" buttons and offers all around protection without all the bulk. it has separate cutouts for camera and sensor.. plus it's nice as hell, especially the slate color, i ordered one and received it yesterday...

the Spigen Neo Hybrid is probably one of the best cases because it's fairly thin, has nice "clicky" buttons and offers all around protection without all the bulk. it has separate cutouts for camera and sensor.. plus it's nice as hell, especially the slate color, i ordered one and received it yesterday...
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00QU4Q31A/
Spigen also makes just a bumper (Neo Hybrid EX) without a backing which is also pretty nice..

I don't really understand the idea of bumpers. All of the size is still added both around the phone and in depth so there is no value not having the back
I ordered the rearth slims and the spigen ultra slim clear tpu one. Supposed to be here this coming week.
I've always been a fan of the rearth/ringke slims on all recent phones. They are the best compromise of decent protection and slimness imo. Looking forward yo trying out the super thin spigen clear tpu one too

while that is kind of true, bumpers allows you to have some protection while still keeping the device fairely naked so you don't cover all that "fancy" glass back.
The spigen ultra slim looks and feels very nice on the phone. Sending the other clear cases I have back. They all came with a protective film you're supposed to slap on the back of the phone to protect it from the case itself. The spigen has this micro pattern embedded into the back of the case, it's hard to explain but it looks good and seems like whatever they put on the back of the case protects the glass on the back of the s6 from smudging up against the clear tpu

good to hear. this is why i tell everyone to just buy Spigen and save the hassle from buying a dozen different other cases to still not like them, buy once and be done, Spigen rarely ever disappoints and if you're not happy for whatever reason just contact them and they will take care of you.

Recommendation for a very thin "rubber" slip on case for the Note 4?

I'm not a fan of bulky cases that add alot of girth to an already large phone. Also don't like silicone as it's too much friction going in and out of my pocket.
When I purchased my LG G3 at Best Buy I picked up their "house brand" most inexpensive case/condom for the phone and it is fantastic. Just thick enough to provide edge and corner protection from a mild fall but not so thick as to add alot of bulk to it. The G3 was also a very difficult phone to hold... almost too thin at the edges. This gave it a nice grippy edge to hold on to, but it wasn't silicone so it still slid in and out of my pocket.
Going to all the major retailers now is nothing but iphone iphone iphone and MAYBE a few S5 and S6 cases. Bestbuy, Target, Walmart, etc.
I have Amazon prime but this is something I'd like to see in person, maybe take out of the box before buying.
So any recommendations? Hope I have explained the type of case I'm looking for. I really don't want to ding up my new beautiful aluminum sides or god forbid shatter the glass. The edges are just a bit too slippery for my liking.
Thanks!
-Jon
I bought the Spigen Neo Hybrid case for around $14 on Amazon and I love it. It's thin and has a premium feel to it.

Looking for something like this but without the dots on the back just smooth.

Oh that is PERFECT!! Odered.
Awesome thank you very much that is exactly what I was looking for.
Looks like it is too late for my recommendation, but I really like the Samsung Protective Case made by Samsung:
http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Galax...&tag=httpwwwdolphc-20&linkId=OMBRYAX56M45VB35
I have the Diztronic case as well, and don't like it as much because it is slippery, has less protection, and doesn't look as good as the Samsung one.
I second this guy...
I have a Spigen Neo Hybrid, a Spigen tough armor and an orange UAG case.
out of all I found out how well made the Samsung protective case is, also the feel in hand is great, not bulky very durable and it does protect the phone very good.
it has become my daily favorite case.
I still use the UAG case from time to time for looks but still bulky.
and well the Spigen cases I only used them for a while.

in my country, bosnia, cases like this are 3$
I received my diztronic case today. Exactly what i was looking for. Only downside so far is it makes it very difficult to activate one handed mode. I actually use that feature daily.
I imagine any case will do this though. Thank you very much for the recommendation!

The first case I ordered was the Samsung OEM listed above. I used it for two weeks and decided to also order the Diztronic one I linked to. Between them, I use the Diztronic most of the time and actually like how it feels more than the Samsung one. But the Samsung is harder and does provide a little more protection.
I used this approach on my Note 2. Mask off your screen with masking tape. Apply 3 layers of electrical tape to al 4 corners of your device, neatly and evenly trimmed to act as "bumpers". Spray light even coats of Plastidip, 6 coats should do. If you don't like it or it becomes damaged you can peel it off. Apply your bumpers 1 layer at a time . Run a razor around the edge of the battery cover when dry, you can easily remove the battery cover whenever. Thinnest phone case you can imagine, and grippy. Minimal protection though

Yah I bought the Samsung OEM case in blue and I bought a Casology Bumper case in carbon Fiber. Both are superb but the samsung one is a bit thinner. Bot cases, though feel like you have the phone without a case. I like the corner bumpers as well on the Samsung Protective Case. It provides a very slim design without compromising protection.
Using black/grey version of Samsung's protective case. It is very good & slim. From back, the phone looks like Note 4 Active! Only thing I miss is a kickstand.

How is it when taking it out of your pocket? Is it smooth or is it like those silicone cases that are hard to take out? I recently got a Note 4 and I'm also looking for a case that's thin. Also, has anyone ever bought a S Pen from amazon or ebay and recommend it? I bought my Note 4 used and it didn't have the S Pen. Samsung website has them for $30 and it seems pretty expensive for a stylus.

Just get the stylus from Ebay. They have the original ones and theyre like 2 for $5 with rubber tips and everything. As for the Samsung Case, it provides decent protection and is very easy to take out of one's pocket. The silicon around the sides gives it grip but doesn't makenit clumsy to take out as the back is plastic and much more smooth.

Thanks, I think I'll order the Samsung case then. I haven't seen another case that looks as thin and protective as the Samsung one.
Any good suggestions for a very slim case?
Samsung Protective Case OEM is quite slim

I have several Spigens, Ringkes, Verus cases, OEM wireless flip case. The TPU above is the one I keep going back to. Only 0.6mm thick, makes the phone feel "caseless".

Clear Case Comparison Conversation

Enough with the alliteration,
I've recently come to own 3 clear soft TPU cases and thought I'd compare them here for you all.
Spigen Liquid Crystal case
Choetech soft flexible case
Easy Acc TPU case
I'll start by saying the phone case market seems to be about as diverse as the phone market is right now. All 3 cases are almost exactly the same thickness, made of almost exactly the same material even down to the textured dots on the inside of the case to prevent bubbling. So rather than comparing everything I'll point out the differences.
First and foremost the Spigen is hands down the best for fitment, I would hazard a guess at the other two being from the same OEM despite the difference in branding and packaging as they both have the same minute misalignment on the fingerprint hole, and I mean minute, but it's enough to knock a perfectionist sick. The hole is wider on the latter two and the camera gap spans the whole way across for the camera and sensors whereas the spigen has a much tighter, satisfying fit around the fingerprint sensor and camera/sensors.
For protection the Choetech has more exaggerated corners in aide of protecting against drops to the corner and provides a little bit more lift when lying flat without affecting the grip of the device, only the aesthetics, the trade off being have to look at the corner bumps, the aforementioned gappage and that 0.1mm misalignment.
So... I paid £8 for the Spigen, £6 for the EasyAcc and 45p for the Choetech (They sent me a test unit normal price is £10)
The Spigen is definitely worth £2 more over the Easy Acc, armed with this knowledge I wouldn't then be happy paying another £2 more for the protective bumps UNLESS the quality of the rest of the case matched the Spigen.
Take forth this knowledge, look at the prices at your retailers and decide for yourselves!
Spigen - EasyAcc - Choetech

Which ones are which? I to am looking for a good clear case to show off the white and silver design. I was thinking of the spigen tough armor clear silver, but it covers most of the back. Maybe the Orzly fusions clear.
In the photo the choetech is the last to the right.
Im assuming the center is easyacc. I bought this under 5 different vendors with different specifications each, claming ultra thin slim, and they were exactly the same, down to the pacaking with slight vatiations and misalignments.
In the ended up paying $1-8 each. So taking that into consideration, the one from china for $1 shipped via epacket that arrived on the same day as others shipped from variius states in the US, is the better value.
In the case thread I posted over 15 vendors selling the same case with different logos and brand names
My issue with this thickness clear glossy tpu has always been if the cut outs for the camera are too close if rhe flash fires it will cause a glare in thr picture.

All the spigen cases I've had have always been spot on to be fair and in this case it's the best clear TPU I've seen or used. I don't think they get any thinner.
I'm much more fond of the Google Live case I made after all anyway!

If what you claim about all 3 being the same thickness. Then there are plenty tpu a lot thinner, I have a couple and have a few more on order.
The easyacc and choetech are standard thickness. Imho.

I had the clear tough armor. Don't get. It is a nice quality case and it looks really cool on the pixel but I'm telling you it doesn't belong for the pixel. It makes the phone slippery with its matte plastic cover, it makes the pixel too thick and the bottom part of the phone where my pinky touches is pretty sharp. All these in combination makes for an unwieldy phone. Dropped it so many times trying to shuffle my pixel one handed to reach different spots of the screen. I returned it and am currently using a Spigen liquid crystal which is a completely different experience. Get the liquid crystal
Consider the Ringke Fusion
Spigen Ultra Hybrid is the best clear case I've ever owned. I can't recommend enough.
I think the Caseology clear waterfall case is the best out there. Much better than the Spigen.
