Slimmest Case Available for the S6 - Galaxy S6 Accessories

If I end up getting an S6, I'll probably want the slimmest case possible since I won't need uber-protection nor do I wish to add a lot more bulk.
These are the three I'm currently considering:
1) Obliq Ultra Slim Fit

2) Spigen Galaxy Slim Fit
http://www.amazon.com/Galaxy-Spigen...UTF8&qid=1426904642&sr=8-6&keywords=spigen+s6
3) Ringke SLIM case
http://www.amazon.com/Galaxy-S6-Cas...e=UTF8&qid=1427082439&sr=8-2&keywords=slim+s6
And just an FYI - I bought a Ringke SLIM case for my Note 4 and what I noticed was that it leaves scratch marks when you try to remove it.
I now use my Note 4 naked, but for the S6 I don't think that's the way I'll go, especially with all that glass material and the phone itself being such a finger print magnet.
Let me know which slim cases you're considering and if there's others out there.

the slimmest would be the Spigen Ultra thin, http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00QU4N7AK/, which Spigen claims to be the "thinnest on the market"

I ordered that one yesterday

The last one looks pretty nice.

That's actually quite nice, but not sure if I'm a fan of the buttons. I like using the actual phone buttons.

I'm planing to purchase Ringke or Spigen cases but I'm not sure about their wireless charging capability. Any ideas?

in this case is where thin would be best. hard to say which will work and which won't but im pretty sure the one like i posted above (spigen) will work because it's fairly thin.

i am the opposite. after having the Spigen Neo Hybrid on my S4/S5, it make pushing the buttons so much easier than having them recessed due to the case.

So, basically, what you're saying is that the "clickity click" feel when you press the button is still solid and pronounced?
May have to give it a try then...

the obliq slim case for this phone looks extremely nice. i'm probably going to pick that one up as it offers protection on top corners for the phone and fits snug all around it. just my opinion

Obliq went down to 9.99 on Amazon
Picked up that and spigen to test them out. Will return one of them

This one looks really slim! The Smoke-White version on a white Galaxy S6 looks amazing and also invisible! I just don't like the logo on the side, i wish they didn't put any logo on it... If i buy a 700€ phone, then i really don't need the logo of a 10$ case on it.

I purchased this one as well. I really can't tell from the picture, but do you think it has a lip to protect the front screen?

Ugh, all these cases have that nasty huge cutout for the camera and sensor. I've seen a couple that actually have two separate cutouts one for each but they're bulkier.
Any suggestions?

the Spigen Neo Hybrid is probably one of the best cases because it's fairly thin, has nice "clicky" buttons and offers all around protection without all the bulk. it has separate cutouts for camera and sensor.. plus it's nice as hell, especially the slate color, i ordered one and received it yesterday...
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00QU4Q31A/
Spigen also makes just a bumper (Neo Hybrid EX) without a backing which is also pretty nice..

I don't really understand the idea of bumpers. All of the size is still added both around the phone and in depth so there is no value not having the back

I ordered the rearth slims and the spigen ultra slim clear tpu one. Supposed to be here this coming week.
I've always been a fan of the rearth/ringke slims on all recent phones. They are the best compromise of decent protection and slimness imo. Looking forward yo trying out the super thin spigen clear tpu one too

while that is kind of true, bumpers allows you to have some protection while still keeping the device fairely naked so you don't cover all that "fancy" glass back.

The spigen ultra slim looks and feels very nice on the phone. Sending the other clear cases I have back. They all came with a protective film you're supposed to slap on the back of the phone to protect it from the case itself. The spigen has this micro pattern embedded into the back of the case, it's hard to explain but it looks good and seems like whatever they put on the back of the case protects the glass on the back of the s6 from smudging up against the clear tpu

good to hear. this is why i tell everyone to just buy Spigen and save the hassle from buying a dozen different other cases to still not like them, buy once and be done, Spigen rarely ever disappoints and if you're not happy for whatever reason just contact them and they will take care of you.

Poll: Spigen Slim Armor vs. Speck Candyshell vs. Otterbox Commuter

Hey guys,
Got a poll up and looking for feedback on what you guys think of these cases. They are all similar to each other in the sense that they have a plastic outer shell with a soft hybrid inner shell. All of them come in white and they range from $25-35 dollars. Personally I'm between the Spigen and Speck but I wanted to throw in the otterbox as another option. If you guys have something else in mind also let me know.
Thanks for the feedback guys,
JD
1) Spigen Slim Armor - $25 (Really love the price and i believe the speak grill is raised to allow for better sound transfer, not 100% sure)
2) Speck Candyshell - $35
3) Otterbox Commuter - $35

Forgot to mention, that they all have rubber at certain points on them so if anyone has used these, how are they with pocket lint?
I'll have a review of the Speck Candyshell up later today. I have both the Candyshell and Candyshell Grip.
Here's my review of the Slim Armor: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2262605
All three are very nice cases. The Otterbox and Candyshell offer the best protection. The lip on the Slim Armor is very low, but the trade off is the case is very slim. Personally, I would get the Candyshell or Slim Armor. The Otterbox is very durable though, and if you need the absolute best protection, get it.

Spigen are #### ing idiots!
They could have easily made the lip a little larger for better front protection but noooooooooooo.
They probably just made the case like that to try and squeeze more money out of customers to buy their screen protectors as well
Spigen doesn't deserve any of our money for this greedy design flaw!
That was disappointing to find that out, i'm probably leaning towards the speck case now.
The Spigen Slim Armor, slim cases look the best. Personally i'm going commando with mine. I just can't put my phone in a case it makes it look worse and i like it look and be thin. It fits my pocket better. But if your a builder or trades working. I good case is a must..

As I mentioned in the other thread you posted this in, it's called the "Slim Armor" for a reason. It isn't meant to be a bulky, full protection case.

And I'll respond to both in kind: If your case has the word "armor" in it... then it should be able to protect the screen from smashing if its dropped
A little bit more lip would have completely taken care of this problem and allowed it to maintain it's slimness.
They definitely won't get a dime from me, as I will be returning mine, and I encourage others to not purchase from them for making so obvious a cash grab design flaw.

If you aren't going to keep yours, and you're going to get a full refund, why do you continually bash this case?
A design flaw is something that blocks actual function, like some of the HTC One cases that cover the IR blaster/power button. This case was specifically designed to be as thin as possible.
I'm not going to bash the Otterbox Defender because I think it's too bulky, I just won't buy it. Some people want that kind of protection. On the other side, some people want a very low lever of protection.
I just bought the Speck candy shell case at Best Buy as I didn't want to take my new phone to work without any protection. So far I like it. The fit is nice and tight, the rubberised buttons feel good, and the raised lip around the screen allows you to put the phone face down without scratching the glass. I also like the fact that the majority of the case is shiny so it slips into a pocket much more easily than the T-Mo TPU case I have for my original Galaxy S. I'm still going to get one of the Spigen glass screen protectors to go with it, but it'll do without for a couple of days more.
Another plus for Speck is they seem to have some more feminine colours. The Spigen cases are all black + one other colour, which doesn't look right with a white phone in my opinion. The Speck case I bought is white with turquoise and looks pretty sharp. It's also feminine without being pink
Hinduboy, with regard to pocket lint, it's not a total lint magnet like some cases, but it definitely picks up a bit. It seems to be quite attractive to cat fur!

Not difficult at all. It's less flexible than a regular TPU case, but since the front lip is all TPU it comes off pretty easily if you need to get to the battery or SD card.

I did see that they have those cases at BBY but i was hoping they had the white/grey combo they only had the black and white/blue one. I might just end up ordering it through amazon. I've been using the platinum series white plastic case in the mean time.
What about the Spigen Neo Hybrid, Case-Mate Tough, or Incipio DualPro (Regular & Shine Versions)? They are very comparable to the cases mentioned above.

THIN case

Whats the thinnest case you have found for the S4? I've been looking at various cases, and they are all so thick ( I usually go naked.. ) but I would like to put something over it for drop protection ( so no, skins don't work ). And don't suggest any of the crap offered by SPIGEN, I'm done with that worthless company ( ALL support issues with them ).
ITSkins has the ghost and Zero.3, but neither is available STILL ( they where suppose to be on the 15th ) and you can't pre-order them either....
Everything else i find just says "Thin" or some other wonderful adj, I'd like a number and facts. Thin is subjective....

After everything I have read about Spigen, I am very hesitant to buy one of their products. The casemate looks pretty nice, but I don't like the openings on the top and bottom. I want a thin/light case, but I want a little bit of fall protection in it.
I've just got this one, loving it so far.

Serious recommendation: I was in the same boat, and didn't think I would find anything I liked. I happened to be browsing at BestBuy while my wife picked out case. I noticed some RocketFish branded cases that look really slim. Asked if I could try one on my phone and it fit like a glove, barely added any size to it, but definitely makes it feel like I'm not going to accidentally fling the phone across the roam just taking it out of my pocket.
I also have the Ringke Rearth ultra slim case - which was not only the thinnest I've seen, but also very cheap!
I keep the Spigen Neo-Hybrid case on my phone though - I had an S3 get nicked up at the bottom where the ultra thin rearth case didn't cover. Outside of the neo-hybrid I think the rearth cases are my favorites - considering I bought one for my S4 immediately and had one for my S3 I'd feel confident suggesting it.
I purchased both the Ringke Rearth Slim and the Spigen Neo Hybrid. While the Spigen looks nice it really does add a lot of width to the phone. The Ringke is easily the slimmest case that I have used for any phone. Not to mention it only cost $2. The matte black has also been great for adding grip. My only complaint is that the Ringke case is very difficult to remove.
I have a Spigen Ultrafit. Its pretty darn thin.
I like the matte finish.
Spigen Ultrafit
Edit: it is just thick enough the effectively recess the buttons to protect them from drops, plus it works with a tempered glass screen protector. AND...its only $10 shipped with Prime.

It would have to hit a very uneven surface...the corners are protected. You would have to drop in on gravel or a curb or something like a car door sill. If you drop in on tile or flat concrete it is impossible to hit the edge because of the gap created by the corners. I prefer minimal protection. My main concern is really protecting the corners back and front since those are what are going to hit 99% of the time. And the buttons...you can break the board connections (trust me I know, lol) if the phone lands on its buttons. I actually was thinking of going naked since the battery door can be replaced so easily and it is the entire back. Just a screen protector and a replaceable back. I have insurance. Also, I am a middle aged dad...I am not in the situations that you would drop a phone that often.
All that being said I will probably get another case at some point just because, lol.
I have the Body Glove phone case. Made of soft rubber for a nice all around grip. I purchased it at Walmart for $15. Link is for image of the case.

I had this case for my S3 and loved it......anyone know if there's a case just like this for the S4? I keep my phone in my pocket so I prefer the headphone jack and the charging port to be covered unless I'm using them.

I have the Ringke. It is very thin. I don't feel like it would do anything to prevent the screen from cracking. It would prevent scratches to the back though.
I now have a Chinese knock off neo hybrid. Add with the genuine. .. Pretty thin on the back but it does make the phone wider. I do feel like this will help obsorb shock in a fall.

Stylish but Protective Case?

I'm looking for a GOOD case that will provide a considerable amount of protection for my S4 while maintaining a nice look and somewhat slim profile. After my research I haven't really found many that meet these criteria. Do you guys have any suggestions?

Well, how much protection are you looking for?
If you're look at 810g stuff with a 6 foot drop rating, that limits you right there.
If all you're worried about is small dings, not drops, then go with anything that looks cool because i think everything else is just about the same except for style. As long as it covers the sides, gives you a lip over the screen (big doesn't matter) as long as you have a good screen protector. if you end up dropping it on an uneven surface there's very little protection the lip with give you, it will be a matter of your screen protector.
You could go with zagg or some other "military grade" scratch proof, nearly pierce proof stuff.

You could go with zagg or some other "military grade" scratch proof, nearly pierce proof stuff.

I have a Spigen Ultra Crystal Screen Protector I believe. Is comparable to the Zagg? And in that case, would I be good with a Spigen Neo Hybrid? That case is beautiful but it doesn't look very protective

you should see the video zagg has on their invisishield scratch test. Will give you an idea of what kind of protection you're getting. Not familiar with the Ultra Crystal Screen Protector in comparison.
http://www.zagg.com/invisibleshield...es-screen-protectors-covers-skins-shields.php
There are others like zagg out there, spigen's version of it is probably invisible shield.

The neo hydrid will give you edge protection and back scratch protection, might not help with a big fall. Since the back plate isn't going to crack or break, you're really looking at good edge protection and shock protection.
For all intents and purposes, your current screen protector should be fine. If it ends up being pierced, it might leave pocks or scratch on your screen though.
All shock protection will end up being a big case which you don't want, so forego the shock. The neohybrid should be fine for what you want.
Thanks you very much news, I think Samsung mobile phone case is very good with high strength and elastic modulus can be better to prevent fingerprints and dust's role is a very good accessories

Quite like the original Samsung cover. Barely increases the size of the phone, feels great, high lip on the front side as well. Made some images: http://foto.pfeffernuss.com/mime/index.html

got it today! Im huge impressed!! I recommend it for everyone who wants a stylish but protective case!
I have the Slim Armor View and it is awesome. Very stylish, sleek, slim, and I'm completely confident in its protective capabilities. It's the only case I know of that will protect your screen in a fall.

fyi, the Spigen Neo Hybrid can be bought from Spigen through Amazon for around $20, I paid like $22 for mine, sorry but thats not expensive at all for a quality case

Good case that doesn't add to much bulk?!

I always buy a case before I buy my device (I'm just weird like that lol)... so I'm looking for a good protective case that doesn't add to much bulk to my S5. Preferably is raised a littl (to protect against screen cracking if it falls), and also camera and LED flash are protected as well on the back.
Thanks in advance to any suggestions!
I highly recommend the Urban Armor Gear cases. I had one on the S3/S4 and they are great. Protected it from many drops and adds very little bulk compared the amount of protection. Mine for the S5 should be here any minute now (on truck for delivery).
I use Body Glove. It's slim and protects all corners. Also, it doesn't interfere with the fingerprint scanner nor HRM.
Had otterbox, too bulky. Then found Spivey NEO Hybrid case for nexus 5, amazing case, slim yet very protective (dropped nexus yet only little scratch on case but not on phone). Now use Spigen Neo for this phone, check it out.
While you're checking out the Spigen web site, also take a look at their Slim Armor and Tough Armor cases.
I've got a Tough Armor case on the way through the glacial US postal service. Hopefully, it'll show up tomorrow like the tracking information indicates.
SO far I have narrowed it down to these 4 cases, but not sure on the color yet!! But if anyone has any more recommendations to make my decision tougher, I'm all for it!! Looking for the best case that won't add to much bulk, but will protect my screen/device from falls, and also not interfere with the fingerprint scanner as well!

The Tough Armor is amazing! I got it tuesday, it's gorgeous and surprisingly slim. Actually makes the phone more comfortable to hold for games. I'll post some pics later. The Gunmetal one is the bomb on the charcoal s5.

I've tried all of these at 1 point or another... the thinnest and best protection is and will always be a tight TPU.
http://www.amazon.com/Diztronic-Mat...1846&sr=1-1&keywords=galaxy+s5+case+diztronic
i bought the Diztronic again, it is the thinnest case i know that actually protects against light drops. all the other onces look nice but i've cracked a few in my days, or they were just too bulky.

So I have the UAG case. But I am finding that NFC doesn't work as reliably and the finger sensor is very hard to swipe correctly with the case because of the lip around the case/phone. So I may be returning it.

I have the Trident Aegis which might be a good alternative for you as it has a soft flexible rubber lip on the bottom that flexes when you swipe your finger.

i got #3. its definitely thin that its doesnt even go past back camera but that part has its lil hump to protect it too
to me it makes phone feel more solid and looks alot better. i got the white s5 and white case
had #2 b4 on s4 and note3 and its definitely thicker
Protective case
I bought from T-Mobile Tech 21 Impactology and is very thin and protects great
I have the Spigen slim armor on my phone and love it. I hate thick cases and usually find the thinnest I can. I went on a chance and love this one. IT is a very tight fit and adds minimal bulk. My wife bought an incipio and now wants my case as it is a lot less bulkier.
Take a look at the otterbox commuter series.
http://www.amazon.com/Otterbox-Comm...3&sr=1-4&keywords=galaxy+s5+otterbox+commuter
I had the NeoHybrid for the S4. I loved it for the first month, but after that the paint started wearing off tremendously on the edges. It was an official Spigen directly from them, so I was not too thrilled with that. They don't seem to dye the plastic, they paint it. At that time, they were also charging around $29+ for the case.
Something to consider, as I doubt they changed this for the S5. I might give their Tough Armor a try, as it doesn't have the edges of the NeoHybrid, so the breakdown shouldn't be as severe.

Recommendation for a very thin "rubber" slip on case for the Note 4?

I'm not a fan of bulky cases that add alot of girth to an already large phone. Also don't like silicone as it's too much friction going in and out of my pocket.
When I purchased my LG G3 at Best Buy I picked up their "house brand" most inexpensive case/condom for the phone and it is fantastic. Just thick enough to provide edge and corner protection from a mild fall but not so thick as to add alot of bulk to it. The G3 was also a very difficult phone to hold... almost too thin at the edges. This gave it a nice grippy edge to hold on to, but it wasn't silicone so it still slid in and out of my pocket.
Going to all the major retailers now is nothing but iphone iphone iphone and MAYBE a few S5 and S6 cases. Bestbuy, Target, Walmart, etc.
I have Amazon prime but this is something I'd like to see in person, maybe take out of the box before buying.
So any recommendations? Hope I have explained the type of case I'm looking for. I really don't want to ding up my new beautiful aluminum sides or god forbid shatter the glass. The edges are just a bit too slippery for my liking.
Thanks!
-Jon
I bought the Spigen Neo Hybrid case for around $14 on Amazon and I love it. It's thin and has a premium feel to it.

Looks like it is too late for my recommendation, but I really like the Samsung Protective Case made by Samsung:
http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Galax...&tag=httpwwwdolphc-20&linkId=OMBRYAX56M45VB35
I have the Diztronic case as well, and don't like it as much because it is slippery, has less protection, and doesn't look as good as the Samsung one.
I second this guy...
I have a Spigen Neo Hybrid, a Spigen tough armor and an orange UAG case.
out of all I found out how well made the Samsung protective case is, also the feel in hand is great, not bulky very durable and it does protect the phone very good.
it has become my daily favorite case.
I still use the UAG case from time to time for looks but still bulky.
and well the Spigen cases I only used them for a while.

I received my diztronic case today. Exactly what i was looking for. Only downside so far is it makes it very difficult to activate one handed mode. I actually use that feature daily.
I imagine any case will do this though. Thank you very much for the recommendation!

The first case I ordered was the Samsung OEM listed above. I used it for two weeks and decided to also order the Diztronic one I linked to. Between them, I use the Diztronic most of the time and actually like how it feels more than the Samsung one. But the Samsung is harder and does provide a little more protection.
I used this approach on my Note 2. Mask off your screen with masking tape. Apply 3 layers of electrical tape to al 4 corners of your device, neatly and evenly trimmed to act as "bumpers". Spray light even coats of Plastidip, 6 coats should do. If you don't like it or it becomes damaged you can peel it off. Apply your bumpers 1 layer at a time . Run a razor around the edge of the battery cover when dry, you can easily remove the battery cover whenever. Thinnest phone case you can imagine, and grippy. Minimal protection though

Yah I bought the Samsung OEM case in blue and I bought a Casology Bumper case in carbon Fiber. Both are superb but the samsung one is a bit thinner. Bot cases, though feel like you have the phone without a case. I like the corner bumpers as well on the Samsung Protective Case. It provides a very slim design without compromising protection.
Using black/grey version of Samsung's protective case. It is very good & slim. From back, the phone looks like Note 4 Active! Only thing I miss is a kickstand.

How is it when taking it out of your pocket? Is it smooth or is it like those silicone cases that are hard to take out? I recently got a Note 4 and I'm also looking for a case that's thin. Also, has anyone ever bought a S Pen from amazon or ebay and recommend it? I bought my Note 4 used and it didn't have the S Pen. Samsung website has them for $30 and it seems pretty expensive for a stylus.

Just get the stylus from Ebay. They have the original ones and theyre like 2 for $5 with rubber tips and everything. As for the Samsung Case, it provides decent protection and is very easy to take out of one's pocket. The silicon around the sides gives it grip but doesn't makenit clumsy to take out as the back is plastic and much more smooth.
