Survive with a clear data with stock recovery. Only when you flash full stock rom with BL in odin, is replaced by original images.
Is perfect because you don't worry about more security warnings.
Im making a v2 mod with more images and changes.

Unable to install 5.0 on rooted N5

Hi guys ,
I have a rooted nexus 5 running on original stock rom with clockwork recovery installed. I have been getting pop ups to download Andriod 5.0 for last 10 days , Every time I download it , it takes me to recovery and than gives me a message "unable to open the package etc." and cancels the install.
I have tried clearing up the cache , did factory reset , same result everytime.
Any suggestions what can i do ?
You need to be 100% stock (including recovery) to accept the OTA. Restore your phone to full stock and try again.

This is wifey's phone , if she looses her data 1 more time than I m dead.
Flash the newest factory image in fastboot, just dont flash the userdata image.

So If I just download 5.0.1 (LRX22C) from https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images and flash it via Fastboot , It will take phone back to Factory state and root will be lost ?

Ya root will be lost. Just unzip that image fully. Then flash everything but userdata individually. She wont lose her data or setup. Then fastboot flash twrp. Boot into twrp and install supersu. Good to go.

If its on 4.4 you should do a clean install as its a big upgrade. To save her data, flash the 4.4 recovery, and boot images. That should bring you back to stock so you can just take the ota.
Thatll work as long as you haven't made any further modifications.

OK. So download 4.4.4 and unzip and flash only recovery and boot images via fastboot ( boot images would be files ending with .img , i.e. more than 1 file ?

[Q] Back to stock recovery B137SP03 without recovery image

Hello all,
I have been going slightly mad today trying to get my mate 7 2GB back from CWM to stock recovery. The main problem is that I do not have a stock recovery image. But after being shown where to find one, I noticed that I could not get it successfully flashed either.
Since I do not really know how to do this, I used flashify, but that did not work and either returned me to the CWM or sent me to rescue.
Can someone help me to a) get a stock recovery image for the Mate 7 version MT7-L09 and b) show me how to properly flash it?
Find stock recovery is easy.. only a question why flashify don't work for you? It work fine for me... your device is rooted?

Hi @dzjero86, my device is rooted and I am on the B137SP03 version atm, using CWM. Don't know why Flashify is not working for flashing a recovery image. It works fine to flash a CWM recovery. Maybe I have the wrong stock recovery... If you can find it, can you send me the link or add it as an attachment here?
Please guys help me to . i have that same problem i have been trying to flash the stock recovery again but i couldn't even with flashify after i flash i takes me to bootloader screen and it shows me a fun_error message
I have a tl-10 device

A way to find the stock recovery is : download the whole B137SP03 Rom from the Huawei site , and use a tool called "Firmware unpacker for Huawei" whit this tool you can extract the recovery.img from the Rom and try to flash it using flashify

fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Or try to use this tool

This should work.
The fast boot just stucks at waiting for device

Ok, I couldnt access your firmware unpacker, but I did manage to use the tool you suggested.
I have a different recovery screen, but is this the right one? It has EMUI large in centre screen and the options reboot system now, wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache partition.
If this is the correct one, and I am already on the D137SP03 ROM, I should be able to locally update right?
I tried this, and got a lot further this time, but my phone gave an error message during the update. Do I need to flash the original B137SP03 rom again, even though I am already on it?
I think you maybe can flash using adb commands and also you need adb drivers working

That's right... you have stock recovery... sometimes the update fail if the UPDATE.APP is on the internal storage.. try to flash from a micro sd card or re-download the update ....

No luck so far.... I've downloaded the update.zip, put it in my mnt/ext_sdcard/dload folder and start the local update. It begins OK, as the progress bar moves along. But after about 25% it shoots to the end, and then I get an update failed screen with a red exclamation mark.
What could I try to get it to work??

I am not responsible if you don't know
what you are getting into and end up messing up your phone
In order to root K6 Note you need to do the following,

( It will Wipe all Data)
2. Install Twrp from here>>

Change the value of the following lines
1. ro.secure=1 to ro.secure=0
2. security.pref_harden= 1 to security.pref_harden= 0
(Change only 1 to 0 nothing else & do not forget to save the file )
3.Once done repack the boot image using the above tool.

The supersu installation should be successful now. reboot and you will see supersu app in the app drawer. Cheers :good::good::good::good:
(P.S I have attached the modified boot image for firmware k53_s123_170216_ROW, so no need to modify the boot image if you are on this firmware.)

Something like this has happened to me too. Boot your phone on twrp then select the option 'Wipe', then "Format data", my phone only booted up after I did this

I've retried the whole process: flashed the stock rom, booted the phone on fastboot, used this (https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=962021903579483650) to install twrp, and then i tried booting the phone..... :silly: it's don't started , so i used that noverity.zip that comes with the tool, after this my phone booted, the tutorial that i used demands the installantion of this zip View attachment noverity.zip

Hi, thanks for your help, seems I missed the noverity.zip part. What is the noverity.zip and how did you install it? (flashed via TWRP, ADB or using the tool?) Could you link the tutorial you used?

That noverity.zip disables a mechanism in the boot partition that verify the boot itself and the system partition, when you install twrp a little bit of the boot partition is altered and so the boot is blocked.
Install the zip using twrp. You can take a look at this (https://www.getdroidtips.com/twrp-recovery-ulefone-s8-pro/), but if I remember well, that s8 pro toolkit app is the one that asks you to install the zip

which firmware version are installed on your phone? Have you tried flashing the official ROM from the ulefone site, then retried the process?
Have tried on both v3. 01 & v3. 03 firmwares. Stock firmware wasn't downloaded directly from ulefone site, imagine it will be the same but will give it a go.

That is very cool. There is a root.docx that can be downloaded separately that can be partially translated using the google tools.
Update: Now i am facing a major problem. I have done this steps:
fastboot flashing unlock ok
fastboot boot patch_boot.img ok
now the phone starts and asks for a password. i tried 12345678 but it continues to say wrong password...how can i unlock it? for the phone there was no password set...
Hello,
is this the international rom version?
I tried to download it. To do so i have to install BaiduNetdisk. but after installing it, i still cant download it. It seems that i have to create an account or so...could you please upload it to a source, that offers at least an englisch version of its site?
update: found a workaround. I am using jdownloader. Start jdownloader, copy the url of the directory at baidu from browser. jdownloader asks for provided password "dnjq". Files are then added to jdownloader automatically. Start download and enter the capchas.
This solid is made by Chinese netizens.
Sorry!!!!Forgot to say that it is best to restore ROOT after the factory is out or without a password.

you can use magisk APP patch boot.img
I guess 128G and 64G's BOOT.img are different.
I found another way around:
Restored the factory image.
Set a PIN code.
Installed the patched boot img again.
Now the phone is unlocked and I have root.
Thank you for the instructions and the img file!
Do you know if it is possible to install custom recovery?
Some Chinese netizens are doing this, but nothing has been done.
2018/8/24 add twrp.img to this
