Hey guy, I'm trying to port lineage os 14 & 15 to the S8 Pro, do you have experience with twrp, flash etc.? You could help with being my beta tester, next I'll put some betas on android file host, and make a forum here on XDA for the phone

Does anyone have a link to the twrp img file, or any other custom recovery, i cant find it anywhere, all the links just point to the flash tool but it doesn't contain the twrp img file?

I have found it on 4pda.
Just google ulefone s8 pro 4pda.
You need to let translate by google, because of different language.

Doesn't work with the firmware V3.01 and V3.03. Getting in the recovery works fine, but booting the system is impossible. The boot stay stuck at the "S8 Pro With android (something)" splash screen.

Something like this has happened to me too. Boot your phone on twrp then select the option 'Wipe', then "Format data", my phone only booted up after I did this

In the sound recorder I didnt find nothing, but the app GYBeautySnap aka BeautyMakeup open some annoyng processes (that consumes about 40mb of ram) that has something like ads, I think he is the real virus

Tried wiping then 'format system', still didn't work, stays stuck at the boot logo, bit thanks for the help anyway.

It rebootq only to a green TWRP!

That noverity.zip disables a mechanism in the boot partition that verify the boot itself and the system partition, when you install twrp a little bit of the boot partition is altered and so the boot is blocked.
Install the zip using twrp. You can take a look at this (https://www.getdroidtips.com/twrp-recovery-ulefone-s8-pro/), but if I remember well, that s8 pro toolkit app is the one that asks you to install the zip

which firmware version are installed on your phone? Have you tried flashing the official ROM from the ulefone site, then retried the process?

Have tried on both v3. 01 & v3. 03 firmwares. Stock firmware wasn't downloaded directly from ulefone site, imagine it will be the same but will give it a go.

[Q] Back to stock recovery B137SP03 without recovery image

Hello all,
I have been going slightly mad today trying to get my mate 7 2GB back from CWM to stock recovery. The main problem is that I do not have a stock recovery image. But after being shown where to find one, I noticed that I could not get it successfully flashed either.
Since I do not really know how to do this, I used flashify, but that did not work and either returned me to the CWM or sent me to rescue.
Can someone help me to a) get a stock recovery image for the Mate 7 version MT7-L09 and b) show me how to properly flash it?
Find stock recovery is easy.. only a question why flashify don't work for you? It work fine for me... your device is rooted?

Hi @dzjero86, my device is rooted and I am on the B137SP03 version atm, using CWM. Don't know why Flashify is not working for flashing a recovery image. It works fine to flash a CWM recovery. Maybe I have the wrong stock recovery... If you can find it, can you send me the link or add it as an attachment here?
Please guys help me to . i have that same problem i have been trying to flash the stock recovery again but i couldn't even with flashify after i flash i takes me to bootloader screen and it shows me a fun_error message
I have a tl-10 device

A way to find the stock recovery is : download the whole B137SP03 Rom from the Huawei site , and use a tool called "Firmware unpacker for Huawei" whit this tool you can extract the recovery.img from the Rom and try to flash it using flashify

fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Or try to use this tool

This should work.
The fast boot just stucks at waiting for device

Ok, I couldnt access your firmware unpacker, but I did manage to use the tool you suggested.
I have a different recovery screen, but is this the right one? It has EMUI large in centre screen and the options reboot system now, wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache partition.
If this is the correct one, and I am already on the D137SP03 ROM, I should be able to locally update right?
I tried this, and got a lot further this time, but my phone gave an error message during the update. Do I need to flash the original B137SP03 rom again, even though I am already on it?
I think you maybe can flash using adb commands and also you need adb drivers working

No luck so far.... I've downloaded the update.zip, put it in my mnt/ext_sdcard/dload folder and start the local update. It begins OK, as the progress bar moves along. But after about 25% it shoots to the end, and then I get an update failed screen with a red exclamation mark.
What could I try to get it to work??

Help! Did a Format Data on my MXP

I had the brilliant idea to format everything via TWRP...
TWRP is still there and I can transfer files on my phone but other than that I can do nothing else, I tried to flash 3 different roms, but none is flashing, always giving an 'error executing binary in zip /sd card' or something.
What can I do? Also tried sideloading with ADB but my computer is a ***** and never recognizes adb devices, in CMD at least.
Why don't you try rsd lite to flash stock rom? I think there are tutorials for that

I could recommend you to flash a cm recovery img through twrp to install a cm rom as I read in some threads (not for this device) that cm recovery helped install cm rom when twrp wouldn't, but then again if that fails you would lose twrp and end up with a crappy recovery, that's risky

Think i need to flash firmware first? Sideloading with CMD only got to 5% then stopped.
Tried a lot of things but I think it's simply 'bricked' if not hard then at least softbrick.

Hey buddy,
Look through these forums for a thread about TWRP flashable stock images for the X Play by dev>null. That thread SAVED me when I first got my X Play and was stuck in a bootloop.
You can push that file to your phone and then flash it with TWRP. Then you will have a stock 6.0 or 6.0.1 image with root on your phone. You can then go about reinstalling your apps and Xposed modules.
I hope this helps. Good luck, dude.

EDIT: I can flash a rom maybe via fastboot but it says bootloader denies permission.

I didn't make one... only in titanium backup did I make a backup, for the rest I just didn't care.
The problem is that permission is denied when I try to flash via CMD/fastboot.
I got the stock EU rom, but it won't flash because permission is denied, also in TWRP it just says Failed

Windows 10 hehe. Will try out the backups.
EDIT: I can't, there is no EU version for the backups.

i cant not install custom roms!

i have problem installing custom roms... can anybody help me?
Steps I follow:
1- With Stock ROM (bootloader and modem correct for custom rom) without custom recovery.
2- OEM unlock activated in developers settings
3- Flash TWRP recovery 3.0.2-4 with Odin 3.12.3
4- In TWRP recovery, swype for do modifications
5- Wipe - Format Data - Write "yes" (tried 4 or 5 times)
6- Reboot to recovery again (tried without this)
7- Flash no-verity-opt-encrypt-4.1 from OTB USB (internal storage tried too)... no errors
8- Reboot to recovery (tried without this)
9- Flash custom rom from OTG USB (internal storage tried too)
10- samsung logo and nothing...
I think the problem is with the encryption of the folder /data but it is assumed that the no-verity-opt-encrypt-4.1 file disables encryption.

I have the same problem with most all the roms that I have tried. Superman and Phoenix are not working but TheGalaxyProject is.

Try to install a different rom ! Clean flash that ROM hopefully that will solve the bootloop issue !
(Clear the system while clean flashing ) and after booting the whole rom then instal root (superSU/magisk)zip file in twrp.

What are you installing SuperSU TO? Have you flashed a ROM? Flash a different ROM. Some repeat of above post @Mohammed Siamwala . Avoid majisk until you fix this.- I find it buggy sometimes.
I suspect I have corrupted my ROM somehow.
Installing superSU 2.62 Beta seems to boot it but it still gets stuck at the motorola logo screen.Which ROM should I use and how do I install it?Thanks for diagnosing the problem.:good:

Try to install a different rom ! Clean flash that ROM hopefully that will solve the bootloop issue !
(Clear the system while clean flashing ) and after booting the whole rom then instal root (superSU/magisk)zip file in twrp.

hi,
Sorry for getting back so late as I away with my family.I did as you said but the system is stuck at
'patching system image unconditionally....'
I browsed and found this link:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3t/help/twrp-stuck-patching-image-t3623593/page2
It says that sideloading the ROM worked. Will it work here? Thanks for being with me for this long time.

3.2.1
Make sure:
wipe/advanced/check: dalvik/art, system, data, cache - all 4, but NOT internal storage or SDcard
click the thing that says not to install the TWRP app when rebooting
take a screenshot of error (same way as in ROM) and post it.

YOTA3 full firmware and ROOT for Magisk

I'm form China.
YOTA3 full firmware Link:
[国人太利害,不想查水表.终于知道了!我投降!]
Y3-ota-236_Y3MXP1805077_full.zip is a local updata Full pag
Usage method:
Copy to your YOTA3.
Open setup->system update
Click on the top right corner menu.
Local upgrade
Select the file Y3-ota-236_Y3MXP1805077_full.zip
DO。。。。。。。。。
昨日之日不可留,今日之日多烦忧!
That is very cool. There is a root.docx that can be downloaded separately that can be partially translated using the google tools.
Update: Now i am facing a major problem. I have done this steps:
fastboot flashing unlock ok
fastboot boot patch_boot.img ok
now the phone starts and asks for a password. i tried 12345678 but it continues to say wrong password...how can i unlock it? for the phone there was no password set...
Hello,
is this the international rom version?
I tried to download it. To do so i have to install BaiduNetdisk. but after installing it, i still cant download it. It seems that i have to create an account or so...could you please upload it to a source, that offers at least an englisch version of its site?
update: found a workaround. I am using jdownloader. Start jdownloader, copy the url of the directory at baidu from browser. jdownloader asks for provided password "dnjq". Files are then added to jdownloader automatically. Start download and enter the capchas.
This solid is made by Chinese netizens.
Sorry!!!!Forgot to say that it is best to restore ROOT after the factory is out or without a password.

you can use magisk APP patch boot.img
I guess 128G and 64G's BOOT.img are different.
I found another way around:
Restored the factory image.
Set a PIN code.
Installed the patched boot img again.
Now the phone is unlocked and I have root.
Thank you for the instructions and the img file!
Do you know if it is possible to install custom recovery?
Some Chinese netizens are doing this, but nothing has been done.
2018/8/24 add twrp.img to this

password: dnjq
code:
fastboot flash recovery rec.img
fastboot flash recoverybp rec.img
(recoverybp is recovery backup)
Did you install this recovery img?
