[MOD] S9/S9+ - TWRP+MAGISK - Volume Gain - Exynos&Snapdragon -ROOT ONLY - Samsung Galaxy S9+ Themes, Apps, and Mods

Hello Everyone,
I hope you all are great...
It is sad that the thread got 1 Star rating before even getting the chance of doing something good, well I'll fight my way up...
Snapdragon doesn't have Root, but hopefully in the future it will...
This thread isn't for how to TWRP/Magisk, Bootloader unlock or Root...
It's mainly for Volume controls and any other mic and volume modifications...
To make things Unified and in one place,
Please Go to the Main Thread at:

XDA-Forum-Moderator @TheMadScientist have reopened the thread, thank you...
When commenting, please do mention you're S9+ user so I can Differentiate S9 users from S9+ users...
Don't forget to say :good: Thanks...

It's opening for me...

This DualSound / Dual Speaker Mod is not at all required on the S9+.
The sound as it is outta the box is quite amazing.
For those who had trouble enabling it, Make sure Dolby Atmos is enabled from the Notification Bar.

Additionally, this thread topic implies there is root for snapdragon S9/S9+ variants. There isn't (yet, anyway).

It's possible to increase it, I I only put 3dB gain for the Dual-Speaker and 4dB for the headphones as well...
It can be increased further but doing so won't allow you to use any other SoundMods, these values are considered Mid-level increase...
Thank you for your vote...

Mod works great guys

This thread was rated down because you tried to release a stereo speaker enabler mod for a stereo speaker device, and then tried to repurpose the thread after finding out about its redundancy.

That is True,
However my SoundMod have 2 purposes, to enable DualSpeaker (which is already enabled) and boost the volume (which is not there)...
Thus, renaming the thread to Volume Gain MOD...

Also because the description says Snapdragon. Which it's not. So that's probably another reason the thread was downloaded.

I get that, and that's awesome. But based on the title one would assume It works right now on the Snapdragon. And I'm excited to try it once we do have root. But it's a tad misleading

But I stated in the thread snapdragon is coming soon and that I am aware snapdragon doesn't have root...
I kept it in the title so snapdragon owners wouldn't think only exynos can have SoundMod...
After all, I planned on pre-releasing the SoundMod for both and got 1 star, when exynos got root and tested my MOD, they rated my thread which got me a bit up to almost 3 stars, I'm sure when snapdragon gets root and try my MOD they'd do the same and the thread gets higher than 4 stars...

1° of all, thank you very much for your contribution for the s9 community, despiste some criticism in my humble opinion your effort is very useful.
I just install the new Android pie 9 in my S9+ exynos but the Rom does not bring dual speakers. Can I use your mod without have to Install magystic+TWRP? Because I already have it with the latest version, I only need the dolby atmos [Mod]
Thanks in advance
Keep the good work

[MOD] Note 4 Surround Sound

Saw this neat little trick on the Portal for the Note Edge to utilize the front-facing speaker as a media outputter. Tested on my Sprint Note 4 and it works great, so I figured I'd post it here. Just flash and enjoy.
I TAKE NO CREDIT FOR THIS MOD OR IF ANYTHING HAPPENS TO YOUR PHONE.
Original thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-edge/development/mod-sm-915t-surround-sound-t2955648
Download Link: https://mega.co.nz/#!1IRXCRBT!HOpnLvlkcCuIBDxy8c4yjrYeeGOpeNNH0ZXpXmH2u_0
I flashed it and it sounds better ????
Which one did you flash for note 4 on sprint
Yes n4
Guys, I took a look at this and the file does have a lot of differences comparing return to stock to Sprint stock. I took a swing at the port with the medium volume increase to 87.
Try it and tweak it you like. Share the results here if you think it's an improvement. Credit to the developer linked in OP.
I just copied both return to stock and medium volume increase with surround and compared return to stock to Sprint stock before porting the changes. Tested on YouTube and Pandora stream. No unexpected volume through front speaker when headphones plugged-in.
Sounds like the front speaker could use a little boost to me. YMMV.
Note 4_med_mixer_paths.xml [copy to /system/etc/mixer_paths.xml and set permissions to root, root, rw,r,r (0,0 0644). Reboot]
Sprint_Note 4_med_Test_Surround.zip
Note 4_loud_mixer_paths.xml
Sprint_Note 4_loud_Test_Surround.zip
Edit: I see the OP in original thread is porting to all requested devices soon. Consider this a test for those that want to try. Use at own risk. Volume warning is still in place AFAIK; be safe.

Sorry, late for me when I read this the first time. I thought you were requesting a zip to flash.
Reading the original OP's thread, one poster described a situation where a caller could not hear the user using this mod on a different phone. It was warned that using different mixers could induce unexpected results.
The differences I noted that I can recall were the microphones and fm radio. The original mod was for T-Mobile Note 4 Edge. So beware, you'd have to test a wide variety of calling and recording scenarios to say the modification works for a different model. The OP understood that and was requesting users interested to share their mixer xml with him to properly port to avoid dysfunction across all uses of the speakers and microphones. Using the wrong modified mixer, you may find some loss of functionality at some point. Test calling on all the radios and Wi-Fi, with and without loudspeaker and also with and without headphones to check for full compatibility. Audi test the recording features including in-call recording of both sides of the conversation.
If you prefer the loud, the mod is two in one, I believe. It wouldn't be that difficult to modify the medium to loud. Or wait until the original OP ports his work to all requested mixers across carriers and phones. I may try the loud mod later when I have more time.
Hope that better answers your question.

I've uploaded loud test xml and zip and placed the links in post #5 of this thread.
If you're still using the mod from the T-Mobile Note 4 Edge with no issues that's good to hear but I somewhat doubt that all possible scenarios are working as intended.
To elaborate on what I said before, there are some paths that called by different names and one that totally removes all the variables in a T-Mobile path when comparing the two original files. Hey, the original surround mod in loud configuration may actually sound better; I may have missed something. To anyone concerned as myself, I'd recommend this test version until the original OP ports directly to our device. Loud was the original T-Mobile Note 4 Edge release as tested and fixed for the audio issue resolved so maybe it's more ideal for our device.
I'd also like to know if there are sound quality issues or differences comparing the two so try if you like. Hoping it's the same mod but fully compatible. I've linked this to the original OP so feedback may be helpful to someone. Thanks and don't forget to thank the developer in original thread.

It works but the ear pieces volume is to low to be useful.
Works great in vertical not so much in horizontal. Reduced the bottom speakers to (57), and the earpiece to (87) to remedy this a bit.
In addition to the EQ to get rid of the sub-bass/bass, gets loud enough for my needs. If I need it louder due to noise around me, I probably need to just put in headphones at that point.
I suggest anyone (regardless of your volume levels) if you apply this mod, also apply the EQ settings recommended by OmegaBlaze with your prefered EQ program as to not blow the earpiece speaker.
Great work.

Alright, I'm using the Exynos Version, so I don't know which is best for Snapdragon. But, to help at least a little bit here are the Threads for the different Versions:
Miniusers - V4 takes pretty great Pictures, especially with "slow shutter"
Arnovas - Great and solid Mod overall
Cstarks - Never tried this, but I hear it's pretty good on Snapdragon (don't know if this is the correct thread)

Hello there,
Which version do you recommend for Exynos?
I'm using this mod: MGC-5.1.018_FullManual_v1.2_Android-7.0+_SG7Exy.apk

[ROM] AospExtended v4.6

Hi i found this in 4pda forum. I haven't tried it.
https://cloud.mail.ru/public/AGLC/eABvrHGV8
If there will be someone who can try this let us now how it is going.
I tried it. I had been using this rom for a couple of months before I moved to the official B15. I would say that this version of AOSPExtended 4.6 (developed by NFound) is quite smooth and energy efficient - just slightly less energy efficient than B15. And it seemed to have no bugs at all. By the way, it also has in-built aptX support.

The author of that post meant that he decided not to use AEX and quit, because he had experienced problems with the sound from the phone speakers when using Dolby Atmos.
I think the solution is to find proper dolby atmos. I used that from Magisk repository.

I would like to ask, what do you think is the best rom? I tried ArrowOS, but it occurred to me that the percentage of the battery was dropping faster and at 60hz the phone was not completely smooth. What do you think is the best rom for performance?

Honestly, I installed Pixel Plus UI and never looked back. It is very smooth, fast and fluid with fantastic battery life and no bugs (so far). The only things I did to improve it was to add a different Gcam and config and to root and install the ZTE2019 Axon pro Dolby Atmos Port (which works wonders for the loudness and clarity of the speakers).
*EDIT* The Razer Phone 2 Dolby Atmos Port is even better than the ZTE one for this phone. Highly recommended.

I can't share the link as I believe it is against the forum rules. However, I can tell you what to search for on google. The developer's name is Rei Ryuki and he has several ports on his github.
HOWEVER. I have tried them all and I have changed my mind. The ZTE Axon port is not the best one for this phone. Rather, the Razer Phone 2 Dolby Atmos port (v 4.1) is the best. Fanstastic sound quality, with a fully functioning UI and equalizer and dolby atmos even appears as a QS tile.

Actually, it spoofs phone into Razer. Does this break Google photos unlimited backup?
I only tried CrDroid, with the stock Vendor i´m currently happy, but has some little bugs here and there. Tryed lso OSS and contains a lot of bugs. Most of the ROMs has the same important bugs.
If i have to choose one, will be CrDroid.
