DBrand Skins - Asus ZenFone 3 Deluxe Accessories

I contacted DBrand and asked if they would start carrying skins for this phone and received this as a response:
"Thanks for reaching out. We’re still on the fence about supporting the Zenfone 3. We haven’t gotten enough requests to begin prototyping and production immediately, but we’ve received enough to still have it on the table as an option."
So if you are like me and want a nice vinyl skin for your phone, be sure contact them and ask them to support the ZS570KL.

Gumdrop Drop-Tech Case for Asus Transformer Infinity TF700

This case hasn't been developed yet, but I'm pushing for it and hopefully the company will honor us by making this case for the tf700. I had a Gumdrop case for my tf101 and absolutely loved it. I tried several other cases and screen protector combinations, but none matched up to the protection and style I got from the gumdrop all-in-one case. I've emailed the company already to inquire about development, to which it looked fairly positive, but nothing was stated definitely. I'm hoping that Gumdrop will visit this forum, see this thread, and realize that the tf700 community is thriving and development of a drop-tech case would be profitable for them.
So, with that being said, please post your thoughts and desire to also have a Gumdrop Drop-Tech Series case for your Transformer Infinity TF700. Hopefully they will see this and get on the ball!
Looks interesting, but I'm not sure if I need it for $50 (even it it's a reasonable price for the materials used):

Also, I think on this picture the bottom side covers the tablet a bit?

the tablet is covered on all sides. you are not able to use the dock with this case. i had the dock with my tf101 (actually still have the dock even though i sold the tf101) and rarely used it. i never missed the dock after getting the case. regarding the cost...i had purchased two different screen protectors until i found the right one that offered a crystal clear screen and also decent protection with ease of application. the case i settled on at the time was the Blurex Slim Folio, purchased from amazon.com. I liked the case until i dropped my tablet and realized that it doesn't really protect from drops well. also, the corners of the blurex case began to wear a bit and one of them actually was bent. considering the price of the screen protectors and the blurex case, compared to the all-in-one gumdrop...i prefer the gumdrop and know that im protected and my device still looks good.
not using the keyboard dock isn't a biggie at all...especially since i can purchase a bluetooth keyboard and the USB adapter (for my portable hard drive) for a quarter of the cost of the dock.
Sorry, I said it covers the tablet and I meant the screen (the buttons on the bar seem somewhat hidden under the whole construction of this thing).. although I'd love my Infinity to be bullet proof and last for infinity
How easily can you remove this thing and put it back on anyway?
I emailed them after talking about this in another thread and got some stupid generic canned response. Nothing loses my business as fast as canned responses. I'd rather be blown off then get some lame email that is pre-formatted to go out to everyone with a question. I'd still like to see them come to market, and would likely buy one if they were the only solution or best solution for a rugged case, but given an option of a comperable case such as trident or otter or seido styles I'd probably be more likely to pick a competitor that has demonstrated better customer care.

Hey Man
Thanks for the kind words
We just got finished with the Asus 300… What's the difference between these two that make a difference for you?
Thanks for the input!

so hopefully they are on the job there...but I really think a little encouragement would go a long way. I worked in sales and nothing brings about a new product more than customer demand and the prospect of future sales.
I will admit that Otterbox has OUTSTANDING customer support. I would be tempted if they made a rugged case for the TF700 as well. But only if they did a total redisign and used different rubber parts. Every otterbox product I have seems to really give and become loose. The gumdrop didn't have that problem and remained strong as the day it was put on. Trident would also be nice, but they don't seem to make the rugged multi-piece case for their asus tablets.

I sent a nice email originally saying that I really hope to see their case come out for the 700 and so on and so forth. It wasn't just a "do u make one for me?" type of email. I knew they didnt and was showing support fo the 700. That's why I was a bit disappointed by the canned response.

Gumdrop case for tf700t coming
I emailed Gumdrop the other day about a case for the tf700t. This is the reply I got:
We first acknowledge and appreciate your email! The recent increase in interest in our products has created a related increase in customers reaching out to us. You, our customer, are very important to us. We appreciate your business!
Thanks to customers like you, public demand has been heard and we will be making a case for the Asus TF700. We have just begun the pro-type phase and expect the cases to be ready to ship in August.
We appreciate your suggestions and look forward to the launch of this new product.
We appreciate you contacting us!
A "pro-type" phase, wow these guys are high speed. Regardless of poor wordsmithing, I will have to earmark some cash for one of these. Looks like it'll be the first, and possibly only, "tough" case for our tablet and I'm glad it'll be a decent one.
gumdrop case release
Yes, it was initially very surprising to me that they actually decided to make one for the case. It will definitely be better that those leather fold out cases. The only thing that concerned me about the email is that they said it would be shipped out in August. It's already a few day into the month of August and they only have their prototype. They must have a pretty speedy production team in order to create and produce a case in basically under a month. Regardless of my thoughts, it will definitely be very welcomed to have a real case for the tf700t......and look pretty cool, too.

Well it's nearly identical to the one they already make, just a little thicker and button relocation.
really happy that my thread/plea has been heard. i will be putting some fuloos (cash) into one of these as soon as it is ready. i did actually just order a skinomi full body skin and a poetic case to hold me until one of these came through...i was gonna cancel, but figure what the hey, i can always use them as a backup or just a change of style whenever i want.

Still a month or so away, according to the owner Tim on August 15th.
they have it listed on their website now for pre-order...should be ready to go this fall: http://www.gumdropcases.com/dt-asus-tf-700.html

Toast Skins planned on being announced Friday! Here is the first one! :D

So Toast reached out on Reddit, and I donated my phone for them to make a mold of it for future skins. I donate, they give me a free skin (pretty sweet trade since I still have my Pixel 2XL)
The whole experience was nice, I didn't pay a dime even for shipping and when they recieved it, their CEO kept me updated. In fact when they noticed a scratch on the screen (my own fault) they asked if they did it and asked what they can do to make it right. Pretty awesome integrity on their end.
Anyway, long story short, they asked what I wanted, I expressed my love for Transformers, and here it is! They stated they want to announce this Friday and even posted a video on their Facebook of them receiving my phone and cracked jokes at the dbrand skin I had shipped the phone with

cool! do they ship globally?

Save yourself. Guaranteed problems with customer service. Do not buy this phone.

The phone looks great on paper, but it is not worth the risk of having to deal with such AWFUL customer service. Nubia shipped package without requiring signature and it was stolen as it was left outside as was away. They said it would require a signature. I'm now out of pocket for $500 and they are not responding to any of my attempts to contact them.
I originally placed an order for the Red Magic 3, but dispatch was delayed. I had to go away with work and I would not be at the address to accept delivery so I contacted support to attempt to cancel the order. Even though the order had not been processed, and had not yet shipped, I was ignored and the item was shipped while I was away.
When I finally received a response it was too late. They told me the item would require a signature and it would be returned to sender for a refund if rejected or unsigned for, but it was shipped WITHOUT requiring a signature. Because of this, it was delivered and left outside in public at my address. Which is ridiculous, as I live in a large complex right on the street in a very busy and dangerous part of the city. As there was nobody there to collect the package, it was left to sit there while I was away. When I arrived back, I discovered it had been taken.
Firstly, the item should have required a signature as it was a high value item and I live in a public area with a lot of foot traffic. I was told it WOULD require a signature. Customer service did not, and have not responded to any of my attempts to contact. The only response I received was when I requested a direct phone number to call, which they REFUSED to provide.
I'm now out of pocket. Save yourself the trouble. Don't buy it.

Don't tell me you didn't used PayPal?
PS: in my case a signature was requested at delivery.
IMHO,you should approach the delivery company 1st instead of Nubia.........after all, their delivery guy left the package @ your doorstep without getting your signature.

I used PayPal, but as the order was shipped, it doesn't seem I can dispute. The problem is that the shipper did not request a signature, so it was left in public and the package taken. Now no response from Nubia at all. Never dealt with such awful customer service.
I'm sorry for your loss, man. Good luck getting your refund.
You should try summarizing your troubles into a nice tweet, companies tend to listen more when they know other customers are also watching, but don't be petty, gain the favour of the audience and you'll get the attention of Nubia

Glad that u did get their attention on the social network.
As much as I have every sympathy with you, there isn't a technical problem with the phone and it really looks like the issue is with the shipping company, Fedex. I would imagine that Fedex, although it is a large shipping, does get it wrong every once in a while, I don't see how that is Nubia customer service failing you.
Also, I had signature confirmation with my delivery. Have you confirmed with Fedex that it was shipped without signature confirmation? Also, there was no tracking?
I'm pretty sure that Paypal responsibility doesn't end at "seller shipped the item".
I would claim on Paypal in your place.
PS: the OP doesn't have a contractual relationship with the shipping company, no point in talking with them.
Any update on this would be appreciated

Still zero response or acknowledgement from Nubia support. Utterly dreadful support. It's insulting. I'm still without a phone and they still have my money.
I reported the stolen package to FedEX, they said a claim can be filed, but I would have to request the vendor/shipper to initiate it. Obviously, being that they refuse to respond, that's not an option. I tried to file a claim with PayPal, but Nubia challenged it as they could provide proof that it was delivered... but left outside. So they are able to respond, just not to their customers. The fact I had documented proof that they said the package would require a signature didn't make a difference. All the while, I see Nubia is still promoting their products and sending free phones out to "influencers," while ignoring hordes of paying customers who have experienced problems as I have.

Hey I'm curious where you bought it from? I assume it was directly from Nubia. There are lots of other places to buy from so I can maybe try another but I'm in the US and I don't really want the global rom if possible. Also the NA version supports band 66 which Tmobile uses. Most people aren't having any problems so IDK what to think. Bad stuff happens with every company but their responses are indeed quite ****ty!
I know I'm jumping in kind of late, but I just started researching this phone.
At this point, I'd be looking at taking them to small claims court.
It's not Nubia's problem. This is between you and FedEx. They shipped your phone they have no control over anything after that.
FedEx allows the seller or buyer to file a claim. They typically cover upto $100 or the total value claimed for insurance. Typically takes a week. So what your saying FedEx told you makes no sense.
I would contact the Red Magic Facebook page. They respond fast and could probably get you a response from the right people.
I never had any issues with them. If then send a message in a day they typically respond. I ordered 10 full kits RM3's , cases, controllers, docks, ear buds to give away on my channel and I got everything. Packaged very well I had to sign for the package so I missed it and had to drive to FedEx to pick it up. And opened the box and they even threw in some free away and earbuds.

Amazon merchant offering me bribe to delete a mediocre review (just 3 stars I gave).

I received this in the mail this morning re a Note 9 case I returned. I know this has been occurring for some years on Amazon but I still was surprised by the stupidity of this person. I will not publish the name of the company here but ....
Hi Peter,
Happy Tuesday Morning.
This is xyz from ABC case. How are you these days? Hope you are fine!
May I ask if you received our last email?
We are contacting you for the review you left to us on the date: July 31, 2019
We are sorry to hear your 2 problems about our case, 1 is the inner TPU case. 2 is the smell.
We understand you do not satisfied with this case, and we get contact with you and want to provide with the solutions and issued you the full refund. While after check your order, we find Amazon has issued the full refund.
On the Amazon.com, 1,2,3 stars would be a negative review which means customers are not satisfied with their purchase. Customer satisfaction is very important to us. As a small business, your review goes a long way with this case until it stops selling. Your review is so important for this case and maybe the efforts of all our workers are in vain because of a review.
Could you please do us a favor to take a few minutes to delete the review if we pay you another CAD$30 commission via paypal?.
I hope that even our product failed but our customer service won't. We hope we were able to sufficiently assist with this matter and would appreciate your understanding and consideration.
Thank you so much for your kind understanding!
Looking forward to your reply.
Sincerely,
Cases like these are unfortunate, but to some extent expected especially on platforms that aren't as tightly moderated. If you felt being petty, the seller's reaction alone would warrant a 1 or 2 star review, but you should probably stick with your 3 star review and just report the seller to Amazon if you didn't already.
On a side note, are you sure this post belongs here? Aside from the article sold being a Note 9 case, I don't see any further relation to this subforum.
I've had that happen a couple times. I reported them to Amazon, took their free gifts, if they sent any and left my bad reviews of their products. I made no promises to change reviews.
I learned from eBay that these seller care more about the rating than they do the money for that product.
You get much better support from them if you say you'll have to give them a bad review.

Anyone get theirs yet?

Just wondering if anyone received their device yet. I've been eagerly awaiting some hands-on impressions of the phone to see if it's a worthy successor to my year old Key2. The spec sheet says "hell yes!" but I just want to be sure there's no hidden dealbreaker like sketchy build quality or poor keyboard experience that would ruin an otherwise attractive package before taking the $700 plunge.

At this point, nobody has received a full production model yet. The current statement is that the distribution centers will send out the first phones on or before October 29th 2019. There are three groups, the motomod backers, the pre-orders, and the regular orders. I'm the 150th of the pre-orders and really hope to be in that 10/29/19 shipment group!

I'm waiting for this device. Just want to watch some reviews on it by someone who has purchased it. The entire two months of November and December 2019. Nothing! Nothing! At all. I am so frustrated with this company and their transparency.
Clove Technologies
I ordered and received a clack of my very own from Clove Technologies in the UK. I've not started transferring over to that as I'm trying to decide whether to use stock OS or flash LineageOS, but it is online and I'm doing some light mobile web browsing etc. to kick the tires.
Definitely glad I held on and didn't cop out for a ROG Phone II or ZenFone 6 (or was it because both of those were out of stock when I was weak?), the shifted QWERTY keyboard was the right decision IMO as the keyboard is broad for me, and I'm a 6'1" half-German-half-Norwegian somewhere back before the US of A.
Chatting with friends via XMPP hasn't felt this good since the Symbian days. Finally! A device that has some consistency to its input, and a lot of character to boot. Clack is quite enthusiastic in personality, which (aside from their abysmal communication) likely reflects the passion Fxtec put into this device in order to get a smartphone with current guts and a physical keyboard going.

I ordered and received a clack of my very own from Clove Technologies in the UK. I've not started transferring over to that as I'm trying to decide whether to use stock OS or flash LineageOS, but it is online and I'm doing some light mobile web browsing etc. to kick the tires.

Thank you kind person!
Since my last post I've been learning all I can about the Jolla company and their operating system. More so I plan on getting the Xperia XA2 simply because it's available and can run sailfish os. If I follow the procedures and find the correct zip files online. At least I know the phone will fit the new direction I want to go in even if it does not have a pkb that I'm looking to replace from my keyOne Blk edition
Keep the information coming and thanks for the/any update.
Abysmal = good word usage! ??

Fingers crossed...
Received mine yesterday. While there are a few bugs, I must say that it was well worth the wait.
Just got mine - a bunch of people are receiving theirs now that the promised "big shipment" finally went out...
So glad I got mine before china shut... So much better than my old D4
Received mine earlier this week. Ordered and paid back in August/September.
Got mine today. Ordered back in October. Trying out stock and lineage now. Not sure If I can get used to the weird keyboard layout (qwerty). Constantly trying to hit a key left of the actual one because the whole keyboard is shifted one key to the right. Also the round edges on the screen are really bad. I don't like it in the first place but with this one I get a lot of accidental touches.
Let's see how I feel about it in 2 weeks.
FxTec Pro 1
Hi XenGI,
I was wondering to buy the FxTec Pro 1. When did you orden your phone from them? How long time did it take, before you had your phone? I have today, the BlackBerry Key2, happy with that phone, but want to try something new. Are you happy with your phone?
Just 1 or 2 week go, BlackBerry announced that the will come with a new phone in the start of 2021.
I got mine October 13th 2020. And, I still cannot root the device. Desktop and laptop don't recognize the device. Yes I have Debugging on, Yes I have unlock OEM in developer mode. I have got to the fx tec and windows 10 website looking for drivers but have found none. so I guess I will continue to wait.
Received one a few months back
I ordered a Pro1 in May, and received a unit in August. I heard there were production issues, and naturally COVID-19 made things exponentially difficult (supply chain issues everywhere, carriers trying to ship things safely, etc.).
With all that said, I'm happy I didn't have the same experience as folks who ordered back in 2019 and are still waiting (??). Hopefully anyone who ordered a Pro1 last year actually have a Pro1 by now...
