Built quality is absolutely gorgeus.
Removable back battery cover is really pure alluminium and it seems the same battery cover feeling of old HTC HD2....
Screen is a step ahead from V10 and is realy great Brilliant. Very important thing too is that automatic brightness this time is Perfect !!!!
External Speaker are good and loud as HTC M10

HD Voice
I also have the V20 KT version. Using it on AT&T but it keeps saying HD Voice Roaming unavailable. And stays on 3G until it keeps trying for HD Voice and fails.
How do I DISABLE?? I am looking everywhere in QuickShortCutMaker, but can't find it.
HELP!

Why am I getting the impression the pink one isn't popular, thats the one I have ordered.

Hi, where did you order your V20 ?
I'm looking to get one myself, and as I'm in France the one I'd need is either the F800(*/K/S/L), either the H990DS, or the H990N: other ones either lack the 900 and 2100MHz bands for 3G, either the 800MHz band for 4G.
I saw your post, you seem quite satisfied with the F800K. Where can I find an online store to order it, that can ship it to France ?
Also what was its price is it usualy, and what kind of warranty/security does it have if ordered this way ? (Like the V10 it wont be sold in Europe and I dont want to miss on a second phone like that, especialy since the V series seems to be the G series everyone wanted lol).
Finaly does it come with korean language pre-set or can you select yours directly ?
Thanks

Two different white nexus s's?

Hi guys, I'm a nexus one user and currently Vodafone Australia has an awesome deal for a nexus s (free on $29cap for 24months). Since I'm out of contract I'm thinking of switching for the white nexus s. I did some googling and I noticed there are two different white nexus s's
1st one:

2nd one:
As you can see the 1st one is completely white and the 2nd one has a black band around the edge. On the vodafone website it shows the 2nd one (black band around the edge).
I'm not sure which one I prefer, but the 1st one does have a bigger difference to the black version. I was just wondering if anyone else noticed this and know the reasons for it? Maybe a model for a different region? From what I can see the 1st one is more rare than the 2nd.
I have the full white version. If I'm not mistaken, it's limited to the white version of the i9020A - the AT&T/Telstra-compatible version.
The i9020T & i9023 all have the half black/half white variant.
Looks like google taking a leaf outta Apples book
Thanks for the quick replies!

Is your version with the AMOLED display or the SLCD? I believe the Vodafone one is SLCD. So maybe the half black/white one is SLCD and the full white is AMOLED?

Yeah, I have the SAMOLED version. You can get the black/white version with SAMOLED, too, from T-Mobile (i9020T). Pretty sure all the SLCD versions are black/white, too.
No idea why the i9020A is different, but I'm glad it is. I think it's much better than the half-half look.
It is definitely rarer. Too bad for me I have no choice but to go with the half white one. Either way still doesn't detract from the awesomeness of the deal! If anyone's interested the deal gets more awesome: http://www.gizmodo.com.au/2011/05/you-can-get-the-nexus-s-on-contract-for-just-20-50-a-month/
Only issue is that Vodafone Australia have been getting a lot of negative press lately for their alleged terrible reception. I'm currently with Three who are also famous for bad reception but from my own experience they seem fine.
/edit This might be a bit off topic (but its my topic!) what do you think of the nexus s? Any small issues that could arrise through prolonged usage? How's the battery life? Is a case recommended? Screen scratches?
I just got my Nexus S last week and I have to say it's been a pretty good experience so far. Luckily for me, I haven't experienced any of the reported bugs - currently just waiting for the 2.3.4 OTA update.
I don't carry my phone with a screen protector or case and I haven't gotten any scratches yet. Then again, I make sure nothing else sits in its pocket. As for battery life, been pretty good so far. Definitely lasts a few hours longer than my old SGS.
Then again, I've only had the phone just over a week now so things may change.
My friend has a SGS and hes always complaining about his phone dying before he makes it through a day and I know he switches gps and wifi off. On my nexus one I can leave wifi, gps, data and sync on all day and it'll easily make it through a day with usually 30-40% battery left at the end of the day.
I guess the nexus s is a more powerful phone than my beaten up nexus one. I do find custom roms (currently running MiUi) do increase the battery life significantly when compared to stock.
Thanks VAgathon for sharing your experience. I just hope Vodafone isn't as bad as they say after I sign my soul away for 24 months.
If you're worried about network regret - I suggest getting a Vodafone prepaid first just to check out Vodafone's network in your area.

[VIDEO] Samsung Galaxy S4 vs HTC One (in car footage, front and rear cam)

Hey guys...
Here is a little video test that I did. For the HTC One, hardware stabilization was enabled. Software stabilization on the S4 was off due to possible distortion. If you want a retest with it turned on, please let me know. Quickly looking through the S4 menus, I didn't see any lock focus option. Anyone know if it exists? The HTC One has the option, however it was not turned on.
Other devices I have are the Note 2, iPhone 5, and Optimus G Pro. We can add any of those to the mix.
EDIT:
Software stabilization turned on for the GS4. Does anyone know if this actually use pan and zooming to stabilize the image? I'm guessing it does and there is no other way to combat shake.
EDIT:
On my trip to Colorado I added a low light test. I was pretty drowsy. Just woke up from a rest stop nap!
EDIT:
Tried to let the HTC One redeem itself in the audio department. No cases and subject (me) is in front of the camera. No bouncing the sound off of a windshield. It is definitely quiet than the S4, but turn up the volume and let me know what you think.
The gs4 looks better to me, it has more colors - look at the backseat of the car.
However the HTC one has a bigger FOV.

Gs4 has better color accuracy than htc one. However htc one OIS certainly comes into play very well

Tomorrow morning, I'll switch the settings for software stabilization on the GS4 and make sure there is nothing on the windshield *DOH*.
Added a test with software stabilization turned on.
If it is like the Optimus G Pro, it crops the image a bit so it can use that extra space to stabilize the image (pan and zoom).
One looks overexposed - an obvious trade off there. And the sound seems better with S4 too - you didn't alter any settings I'm assuming?
Overall, like S4 better - except for the One's wide angle - really love it.
Didn't modify anything sound or video wise. Double checked the Vegas file.
By the time they go to the standalone tests they are on the same audio and video track.

EDIT:
The circled icon would be in a teal color if any filters / plugins were used.

HTC One E8 - First impressions: Premium device disguised as a mid-tier phone

I've had the HTC One E8 for just over a week now and I am thoroughly impressed. The device has a premium display and chip-set at a mid-grade price. The curved edges of the poly-carbonate (plastic) back plate makes this device easy to hold without losing its visual appeal. On the back you will also find a 13 MP camera with a single tone flash. The face of the phone contains a 5 MP Selfie camera, 5” HD display, and two front facing speakers. The “Boomsound” front facing speakers can push out a great deal of sound without losing any sound quality.

Another amazing feature of this phone is Sprint Spark. If you have not had a chance to try out Spark you might be blown away by the data speeds you will see. This was my first time trying out Spark and I could not believe how much faster it is then my cable internet speeds. Check out Spark availability in your area.

How is the phone after a few weeks of usage?
How is the battery life?
What is the Android version on it? Did it get 4.4.3?

The battery life is pretty good and typically lasts me the entire day. Also good to know that I am always playing with it so you might get way better battery life then I do. The US Sprint version comes pre-loaded with Android 4.4.2.

I have had my phone for a few days, and I have to say that I am impressed with the quality of this device for the price I paid.
Sound/speed is much better than my old Galaxy S3.
Multitasking is a snap, and I kind of like the HTC Sense UI.
Thinking of rooting this device, have you had the chance to root yet?

Many of us in India have rooted it, you can find the threads in the dev section and Q&A's also.
Running smooth, and yes , a great phone overall...
cheers.

UK Release and Ship dates on pre-orders? And LG G4 Comparison Questions.

Does anybody have a clue when this is going to happen? I'm sick of waiting, the longer I wait the more I think I could just be purchasing an LG G4.
On that note, can anybody persuade me into NOT buying the G4? I mean aside from the back facing speaker there really is not that much different about it, right? I mean sure, you've got the not-so-useful water resistance, and the 1440p display (which isn't IPS and is supposedly obsoleted by the G4's display, especially in terms of power saving potential by comparison to the Style). And about those customization options.... is it really worth it to buy a Style when I could just as easily make my g4 look like this with a dbrand skin?

I fell in love when I saw the specs for the Style, but then I realised I'd have to pre-order it, and it's more expensive than a g4, and it's arguably not as good, especially in terms of the camera.... Some of those video and picture demonstrations of the G4 on youtube are mind blowing, but the Style seems to leave a lot to be desired, especially with those weird glowing light spots on video and image. I dunno, someone give me an opinionated rant on why the Moto X Style is better, I'm begging you.
Or.... is it a bad time to buy a device? Should I not just wait for the next generation of devices that contain the Snapdragon 820?
If you don't value near stock Android with Moto enhancements and hopefully quicker updates and the ability to take your phone to any carrier and better radios for cell reception and call quality then maybe the slightly better camera and removable battery of the G4 should interest you or wait for 2016 and the 820 processor.
Sent from my XT1575 using XDA Free mobile app
G4 camera > MPX..actually not a wide gap but the manual controls of G4 pushes it ahead, particularly at night.
If you're on T-Mobile, G4 has wifi calling now; Moto won't have till M
I guess you can put removable battery but the Moto Turbo Charging is twice the speed of the G4's quick charging.
Besides that, nothing else would put the G4 over the Moto X
So yeah, anybody know when I'm going to be able to buy one of these things with all of the accessories through moto maker in the UK?
Motorola said that it would be available before the end of the month. No exact date given.
Sent from my GT-I9505G using Tapatalk
Id also like to know about the release date for the UK as i cant find any solid info yet
It appears many UK users have been chasing for a solid date on @motorolaUK for quite a while.
Judging from their tweet replies,
1. It should come out soon (likely to be before the end of month?)
2. TurboPower chargers are yet to be released for ordering online (hopefully it would be ready by pre-orders)
3. The waiting time between Moto Maker order date to delivery date is normally up to 12 working days.
4. Pre-order on Clove states that the first stock is due on 21 Sep.

Agreed. The simplicity of the design and the combination of the red colour with the black front easily makes it a stunning device. Total value for money. I don't get how other OEMs can justify selling their devices for £800+
