I'm from Argentina, and last week I was in the US for a business trip and I've bought a HTC 8x from a Microsoft Store.
They've told me that it was carrier unlocked (besides it was from Verizon)
When I return back to Argentina, I just inserted my micro-sim and I managed to get 3G signal, internet and all the stuff, but when I try to share the internet connection from the settings, it throw me an error that it's not enabled.
I was a owner of a LG optimus 7 with WP 7.5 and that feature is working great with the exact same sim card, so something of the actual HTC 8X device is preventing me to share my internet connection.
anyone knows if there is any hack / procedure to force it to enable the internet connection sharing?

i have the same Problem but im from peru with a Att HTC 8X, everything Works perfect except internet sharing. will this change eventually? will there be a ny custome room?

I have an unlocked 8X, which it was previously locked with ATT. Everything works except internet sharing. Any workaround?... i can't even purchase some service from my local carrier in Mexico to solve this. Any workaround?

maybe if activated with a similar EVDO carrier but not tested

As far as I know, you have 2 options: you can install V20A KDZ available for Brazil since earlier this month. You will get 3G speeds and Gingerbread. Only issue is that V20A is not rootable .... Or you can install V21A for Europe , getting Gingerbread, root it , but only get 2G speeds. Until a new solution arrives....
Update released for Mexico telcel 2.3.6
Today they released the update for p920H
to 2.3.6.
Now the problem is rooting it to take out all the **** preinstalled in the rom. 16 apps preinstalled from Telcel, and no RadioFM yet in this rom WHAT THE F***CK

Hey guys i think i have something interesting for you ;-) you should be able to root your device, no matter which rom you have got, as long, as you can get the bin/fls files for it. So provably need anyone who can leak it :-D this is how it goes http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=22329293 leave comments, or open/add it to a thread about rooting. Think it might be helpful since it works for the p970 as well ;-)

very usable man, but as far as i know there is no bin/fls files, at least in xda the forum with the original firmwares only has the v10 version, the others are in .kdz, so i think what we need is more developers to our device :/, thx anyway man

Stop by at our dev section. Find the thread about root v20a,b, x and find the original poster in there. Pm him and maybe you can get your bin files this way ;-) seems like he got some source somewhere

Hey there, i´m from mexico city and i have a P920h, i tried a gb rom 2.3.6 and works fine for me, better of the CM for Thrill (P925), the only issue that i have it's the GPS sometimes doesn`t work with apps like Foursquare, anybody knows why is that?
btw: if another person put the rom of CM for P925 in a O3D P920H and don't know how back to the stock rom (v20a) put in Rom Manager the rom Samba (brasil) and then restore in the LG updater. that should work, it work for me.

i dont know man, i only flash this firmware to test root tools and not to test ghost calls, because telcel put like 18+ apps, and without root i dont like it

Anyone running the Telcel latest update 20A , i been trying to start the DNLA ( used to have it on last rom) to sync it with my LG 3D TV but now theres no Fricking DNLA option in the phone, anyone knows about this any solution or the APK or the shorcut or something?

I'm wondering did anybody they have a sim free HTL21 but have the KDDI Stock ROM (or have a japan custom rom).
Because I have a HTL21 was already a sim free but wth the T.W. Rom.....so, all the nfc , iR port, front notify Led are gone!!!!!
IS there any kernel that I can flash in to the TW rom then manually install the Irda.apk & nfc.apk & the led support back?

I will 1st write this in english and in the second line in romanian , becouse not all of people from Romania /Bulgaria/Russia etc etc etc knows english and a translator online will only spell some words in a phrase like bull..it.
Well I got my note3 a few months ago and now I'm facing a big problem , by mistake i insterted a firmware from TSR with Z Nf1 and my phone suddenly got several problems :
1. When I updated with ODIN at hidden menu I received the messagge FAILED
2. The device has restarted but in a few secs showed Sec Wizard Samsung has stoped , press OK/Wait
3. No Sound , Camera stoped, Email stoped , Youtube FC
4. probably when I uograded the firmware also the Protection was enabled
5. I tryied to reinstall several firmwares and did several tryes to have back sounds and other things
6. I instaled CM and almost worked but still no sound etc etc .

1 la meniul HIDDEn am primit FAIL
2. FAra sunet si camera a luat FC youtube si email plus sec wizard
3. Am putut reporni sistemul dar cele de mai sus sau intamplat si cred ca csc era de vina si protectia
4. am reinstalat o gramada de firmware si nimic ... fara sunet si se blocheza.
5. am instalat Cyanogen MOD si am primit urmatoarele avantaje ,pot citi mail , trimite sms .. dar nu pot suna nu pot fi sunat si nici nu am sunet . . Va tin la curent .

Hello guys! I made the mistake a couple of month ago and upgraded my note 3 to lollipop and i kinda hate it but as I like to change things I was thinking about messing with rooting/custom roms but it has been a while since I've done this kind of things. (last time on my sony k810i)
Now if you are kind, can you help me a bit with some pointers:
1) How the ensure a safe backup in case I do something wrong (apps, tools etc)
2) How do I root the phone
3) How to install custom rom
4) What custom rom do you recommend (I love doing things in the fastest way possible (calls, messages), I hate lag and too many colors - like every page on settings in lollipop)

I have a Samsung Note 3 SM-N900 with 5.0 Lollipop upgraded to Kies. After the upgrade is no longer working wifi. Pushbutton remains dark green, faded and in-wifi settings remains gray. Also, the microSD card is not accessed, though he has no problem mechanical / electronic. I tried several versions of Odin ROM (I had TGY - Hong Kong, I tried Israel, Russia, but nothing. I did downgrade to 4.4.2, still nothing. Update and with Kies3 5.0. I started wireless network and worked perfectly for several days before the first restart due to battery discharge. After loading wifi is and inoperative. Previously, we managed enabled wifi by canceling power save mode menu hidden wifi * # 0011 #. cards microSD Samsung, 4GB, 8GB can be accessed. I found greater evidence. we have two microSD cards of 32GB, both Kingstone, and none is recognized Note3, although new. I'll look for a card Samsung 128 Gb, hope go.
Does anyone have any solution to these two problems?

UPDATE: Wi-fi work fine WITHOUT SIM inside. When I put that damn DigiMobil SIM, wi-fi on my Samsung SM-N900 will be like above !
Well hello, good people. First of all, i want to thank all of you for the help you gave me when i rooted, flashed, etc my previous smarphones (HTC ONE X, LG G2). NowI have a LG G4 Stylus (H635AR Titan - I'm from Argentina).
I want to flash a custon rom but first i want to download the original firmware just in case. The problem is, i couldn't find the correct KDZ anywhere. I remember having the same problem with my LG G2; i searched for firmware for the D806 (the one i had), but could only find the D802 version. Later i learned this D802 was the international version and i that i could use that (and i did), without problem.
Does this kind of "problem" also applies for th eLG G4 Stylus? I found in some websites the KDZ for "H630/H635", but only a link for the H630.

Hello! Sorry for the broken english, I´m brazilian and not fluent in english, but I think you will understand me.
I buyed 2 Homtom's HT16 (with MT6580) to my parents via Gearbest and have tried and tried and cannot get rid of the factory viruses on this phone! It install apps without asking (8 of them, sometimes more), constantly slow down the phone until it become completely useless.
Antiviruses dont solve the problem, even in security mode I cannot get rid of the viruses so I decided to change the ROM (I know the process, I´m used to change in my own phones).
Please, help me! I cant afford to buy other phones to my parents and I am totally los in the 4PDA russian forum (the only place I found some custom ROM).
Dont matter what android version, if it is clean, functional and able to run simple apps (whatsapp, youtube, netflix, chrome and facebook) it will be sufficient!
