Question Deleted - Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 FE

I replaced the System partition in the AP firmware of the T733 Stock rom with the Lineage 20 GSI built by AndyYan. Someone is willing to test it?

Does it boot?

File deleted. Ill try it out if you want me to still.

Since i just bricked my ROM this would be a good time for me to try aswell. ;-)

I have tested LineageOS 20 TD by AndyYan (specifically lineage-20.0-20230218-UNOFFICIAL-arm64_bvN) and it worked.
Edit: Changed Light to TD.

Have you tried flashing any version of gapps with it?

It works, but a cursor appears and the button on the S-Pen does not work.
Another thing to fix is the brightness slider; by opening the settings app and navigating to 'Phh Treble Settings' -> 'Samsung Features' -> 'Set backlight scale/max backlight level' and setting the value to 255.
(The brightness slider works normally in the AOSP gsi, but for the LineageOS gsi, you need to fix it.)

Hello,
No, I didn't try it since TWRP would complain about it, stating that the 'Size of the image is larger than the target device'

I've seen this problem occur on other Samsung tablets and people have found ways to resize the system partition. I asked a few months back if anyone knew how to do it for this device but got no response. Not much use to me without gapps.

Yeah i would also need the button on the pen.

October security patch

Applying now...
Xda need an update too lol
Are touch screen issues present on the latest October build when using TWRP? I know hyp and rpm were updated last month, just curious if that touch issues remains on this newer build in TWRP?
Does magisk work after this Update?
Sorry guys can't answer ur questions cause I'm on stock locked bootloader not planning on modifying my phone.
All i can say for now that the phone feel faster and scrolling is better.
Did you ever have bluetooth issues and if so, did the patch happen to address the issue?

Yes, no issues with Magisk. But, I came from a clean fastboot flash and redid twrp and Magisk.

I would lose connection to my car after a few minutes but other devices worked fine. With the October update I connected to my car no problem and it held for well over an hour a reconnected just fine after getting out and back in. So I would say yes, the patched helped my Bluetooth issues.
how do you apply the normal image through the other or through twrp or through what? Sorry

I don't know how this feature worked in Oreo because I bought the phone when Pie was released. But on Pie and Firefox I don't get any difference with the notch settings.
Edit: Same for Chrome.

Maybe I'm blind and just don't see it, but what shall happen? Notch area has same color than the app, that's all what I notice. I believed e. g. the box where to enter the URL will be "behind" the notch or similar?
Edit: Maps works as my expectation: additional screen where the map is shown.

That's a separate thing with the YouTube app. Just expand the screen by stretching it with multitouch during video play.
I'm rooted with Magisk but keep saying "Stock Backup does not exist". How can I fix this??
Yup, "Use Notch" doesn't work like it did on Oreo, and now I cant go back to Oreo from Pie. I fastboot flash Orea and after booting to the setup screen touch is unresponsive. UGH..

You have to unlock critical partitions then reflash the fastboot files. The critical partitions house the touchscreen firmware.

just flash back to stock and reapply twrp and magisk. remember to use the twrp-sept.img as temp image.

Yeah, I have. System partition isn't big enough for it, we'd need to resize it with like fdisk or something.

Besides partition resizing and flashing GSI (as described on official developer website), is there any other steps required for it to boot successfully?
I've tried flashing the smaller official GSI without GMS, but it is not booting at all. Can't figure out the cause yet.
I even repartioned my phone and can't get any GSI working. Someone did open a ticket with phhusson here however:

Yeah no, it doesn't boot for me either, I think it might be an AVB issue but i'm not certain of that.

AVB should not bother on Pixel 1 if bootloader is unlocked, especially if any custom ROM can be flashed without problem. I think it's probably SELinux-related issue, maybe set to permissive could help. (I've not tried)

Interesting, though I don't know how we would set SELinux to permissive without booting first, maybe we'd need a kernel to set it for us? I dunno, this whole thing is really confusing.
Yeah so much for Google phones and universal treble support LOL

Can't argue with that, but it wont help us figure out how to get this working.
Clue
Here's a clue:
According to this certain audio libraries are needed to boot the quack GSI so maybe its the same for 11?

I gave that a look and even tried it, its missing the libeffectsconfig.so file, yet I couldn't add it because /system is not mountable in twrp. We need another way.
Google has released the final build for android 11, will there be a port for the Pixel?

I hate to say it, but I fear so. Also the change from physical partitions to dynamic--everything in "super" partition including system(/_a/_b) partition(s)--is another change that's makes the TeamWin guys' job harder. It means the Linux kernel can no longer even mount the filesystem, so it's a big adjustment. Wish I could put a positive spin on it. Makes one appreciate the options we *do* have more, at least!

Question [CLOSED] When ever I put the phone the phone to sleep the screen touch doesn't work

Any gsi rom I install does this to me. When ever I press the power button to put the phone to sleep, and then turn it back on the screen touch doesn't work.
I don't know if it is due to the rom not made for that exact phone or what.
I'll run logcat, see what i can do.

Hi, I have the same problem with AndyYan's 18 and 17 Lineage GSI. Did you find anything?

There's some fixes but I've never tried.
The first is the tar file, you need to flash onto the BL slot via odin
The second is the treble app, installing it should fix the issue.
Issue has been resolved by a custom kernel. already explained in other threads why and how.

Question Port "ready for" for non stock rom (lineage, evox, etc)

Does anyone know if it will be possible to port the app and the desktop mode of the stock rom to external roms? i was using evo x A13 and everything works great, the performance and battery are much better compared to the stock rom and the customization is excellent but the only thing missing is the desktop mode of the stock rom. Trying to connect via hdmi, only a navigation bar appears on the screen and it cannot be used, could a developer solve this?

It's the same thing when I used Samsung, VoLTE in Custom ROM, because it's an Exynos processor it can't work in Custom ROM except Stock, it's the same thing with For Ready, it won't work unless Stock, only if some blessed figure out how, but I doubt there's no solution
You can use Termux / Linux distro as your desktop experience. Anyway, in developer tools you can activate desktop mode, but it's very poor
