Anyone here have trouble sending Chinese (or unicode) SMS to other phones and having it show up as weird characters? My mom tried to send Chinese txt messages to her friends and they can't see it (iPhone 4) and to my cousin's HTC Desire. But when she txt me in Chinese it shows up fine on my phone.

it support better international languages, and i see they have a chinese input add on as well
is the sender using china mobile sim, and receiptor using china telecomm？ it's the known issue. Not solved yet.

nah. I tested this too. I tried sending to my cousins HTC Desire (he bought his in Taiwan). He just installed CM7 Nightly 29 and he could send txt msg to me in chinese and I can see the words. When I tried doing the same, he sees stars.
Sending in Chinese from my CM7 RC2 to N900 works fine.
I got the same problem. it depand on the recipient network provider.
oh ok. Since I sent to my cousin who is on AT&T and it doesn't work. I can receive it fine from my mom's phone when testing since we both are T-mobile.
Tell them to use Kakao. There's one for iPhone also. It supports unicode so your mom and her friend should be able to communicate just fine as long as they have data connection.
I had a Three UK sim in my OPO an everything was working fine i have now swapped to EE and i cant make calls. i can receive calls and my texting and data work just fine but whenever i try to call anyone it just says call ended
Are you using a International or Chinese OPO?
A International OPO will say "Cyanogen" in the back.

Im using the international version, everything works fine with the 3 sim just cant make calls on ee sim
Have you tried the EE sim card into another device? See if you can reproduce the problem on another device.
Hi does anyone have a problem sending and receiving MMS on the international OP7 Pro in the default messaging app?
I haven't had any issues being on International for the past 5 days. But I'm also using Google Messages.
On T-Mobile
I actually have had issues with this. Not all the time, but it happened last night and a couple other times previously.
Using international version, Mint Mobile carrier (MVNO of Tmobile), on Google Messages.
Yeah very weird over wifi no problems. Sometimes I need to switch to Google messages and reboot phone to download them.
I'm not on international but have the TMobile variant and it sporadically will not send messages and I have to reattempt
Mine has been working well and the Chat feature is working too.
I have been switching back and forth from stock and google messages.

Tmobile converted to international.
No issues here! I have been on the international firmware for a few days now, just updated to 9.5.8 this morning, and haven't had any issues with the stock messaging app.

maybe thats why you still have the chat features. Mine is the international version and I dont have that feature at all.

Either using a different app or using ADB to push the rcs package from the T-Mobile firmware to the international firmware.

What I did was send a couple pics with the stock app, that made the chat feature show up in options.
Then I switched to the google messages app and the chat option was in there. Turned it on and sent a couple pics there.
The option disappears but the feature stayed.

I don't, unfortunately. I was hoping someone still using the T-Mobile firmware with root would copy it and post it or hope someone knew how to extract it from the factory image.
Using the TMO sim I have had zero issues with MMS or SMS but on my US Mobile sim I am able to send and receive SMS but my video message come in as a picture and a separate audio file ....anyone else have that issue ?

I can get back to TMo firmware and grab whatever.

I don't remember exactly what it's called but there is a system package with rcs in the name. It is the only one with rcs in the name.
Cool... I will see if I can find it.
Just having that package may not work on the International though. We will see.

It will not SIM lock your device but you will lose dual-SIM until you flash back to the international firmware.
If there's a better place to post this let me know.
My brother recently got a new phone, the one plus 8. He also has a still working fine pixel 4. He wants to be able to get calls and texts on both, from texting or calling the same number. We are in Canada and tried using Google voice. But cant seem to get it working how he wants.

I dont see why it wouldn't be. It's basically call forwarding but he wants the calls to come to both phones. So he can have a work and home phone without having to change anything.
There are carriers that allow this like T-MOBILE with their digits app. I have a second line and basically I can use that line any device I want and as long as it's logged in it will ring on multiple devices at the same time. Also this isn't any different than an esim for a watch. Same concept.

Hi,
I need some dual sim android phone for order taking service that can receive calls on both sims even one is on call.
Previously i was using honor 8 & it had this feature to receive calls on both sims simultaneously.
I don't use Volt or 4G much so my basic concern is that i can receive calls on both sim all the times without missing any.
I did some google but couldn't find proper listing of phone having this feature.
Although Honor 8 wasn't listed as dual active but still it had my desired feature & i want to buy similar phone again.
Please share your experience if you know some models capable of this calling feature.
