Question Problems with SIM (AT&T) - Nubia Red Magic 7 Pro

So I have had this phone since release. Popped in the SIM and has worked fine until 2 days ago and it dropped everything. Rebooted and had coverage for a few minutes then none. Did this for half the day then no cell, no data at all. Went to replace the SIM with a new one twice at AT&T and still the same. Put some one else SIM in and it worked. Didn't want to leave them in for too long cause I didn't want the phone to "fry" the SIM. Anyone else have this problem?

i have a red magic 7s pro, I switched the att nano sim from my old LG v60 Thinq to the red magic 7s pro and everything works. But when I call ATT and switch the nano sim to the red magic 7s pro IMEI #, ATT says its not compatable. But as shown in the attached screenshots, the red magic 7s pro is working perfectly on the ATT Netowrk. As a tech support member stated ATT, is trying to stop people from using unlocked smart phone, unless its bought through them. ATT, verizon are trying to push through the fcc, that unlocked smart phones not bought through the major carriers in the USA are a national security risk, and want them banned permanently.

[Q] NOTE 2 - SGH-T889V - Unregistered Sim

Hi all,
I'm having a serious issue with my phone that just recently bought off kijiji, I suspect that my phone could be blacklisted or blocked.
So, heres the issue we, me and my friend went and tested this phone out. Since my sim was too big for the Note 2, my friend tried his and worked fine with WIND. After the person who's selling to me swiped the note 2 and gave to me. Deal done. Ok, once I got home, I cut my sim to size and tested it = invalid sim. Asks for unlocked code, but when i called the guy (person who sold it) he told me originally the phone is factory unlocked and suspected that i may have damaged the pins but wait if i did damage the sim slot pins it would've said NO SIM. Went to the store got it unlocked and still have the same problem. Went to a virgin store gave me a new sim that's actually to size and same problem. After virgin told me that on their records the IEMI # - listed a completely different phone like Galaxy Ace S6802 but the serial number on the phone is registered as a NOTE 2. So that's major red flag. Next, went to Wind, they said their going to charge me to get the phone registered on their networks. But there's the thing the phone worked with Wind sim card but after unlocked NO SIM cards work. I went to the settings of the phone and it supports multi band network so LTE and GSM and all the others should work. Also, when i use my friend's sim it says roaming but still doesn't work.
So, i'm assuming the original person stole the phone and it has been blacklisted and maybe he got some hacked to make it work for himself. By the way i do know where this person lives and i have strong evidences to support my claim against this person and will file a report against him if necessary.
SOOOO...any ideas guys?
Anyone got any input on the topic?

[Q] Verizon certified like new to use in foreign GSM market?

First, I'm not sure if this is the right group to ask this, but here goes.
A couple years ago, I bought a used HTC Resound (I think) for a family member from overseas who had a really crappy blackberry. We installed her SIM and the phone worked fine, here and when she got back to the country she is living in--which is GSM. Anyway, after two years, that phone has been having trouble! So I picked up an eBay Verizon "certified like new" LG G2 replacement for her. This phone has never been activated. Do I need to activate it on verizon before I can give it to her? I had a French SIM that I installed to try setting it up, but the setup wizard said "unknown Sim" and would not let me go any further. So my question is, how can I prepare the phone so she can just swap the SIM from the resound to the G2 and it will work.
I also have a G2 on Verizon. Would installing my sim in this phone to set it up and then removing it work? Or would that tie my sim/verizon account to the new phone?

Testing Unlocked Sprint Note 5 with at&t sim

I'm heading to Europe in a month and plan on using a European sim as I don't want to deal with Sprints free slow internet and $25 a week is more than I want to spend. Sprint is telling me my phone is unlocked (and I was under that impression years ago) but I want to be absolutely sure before I leave due to issues I've heard people have with Sprint phones. When I do the UICC unlock (with the Sprint sim still in), the phone tells me it can only be used with Sprint and to contact them. I called Sprint and they told me it is saying that because the Sprint sim is in the phone and the phone will work when another sim is added. I want to test my phone with my friend's at&t sim card. I really don't know squat about sim cards considering I've been a Sprint user my entire life. Therefore, I'm wondering:
1. Can I just turn off my phone, put the at&t sim in, reboot, and see if things work to test that the phone is truly unlocked?
2. After I'm done testing, can I put the at&t sim back in my friend's phone, and my Sprint sim back in mine, and have things go back to normal, or will this somehow screw things up with his phone or mine?

one plus 7 pro tmobile dual sim tray and same imei for both slots

I bought a oneplus 7 pro from someone through offerup
i had an old samsung j7 that had dual sim functionality that i need for work and productivity so when it came time for an upgrade i bought the oneplus as it was advertised as a dual sim phone by the guy who sold it to me.
at the time of purchase, i just opened the settings and saw that it had two sim settings (sim 1 and sim2) and i naturally assumed that it was a dual sim phone.
i also plugged my att sim and figured that it is unlocked. i also did a factory reset and there was no branding for any carrier when i started the device.
therefore i just assumed that this is the unlocked dual sim version.
however, once i got home and tried to put the two sim cards in it and i quickly realized that the sim tray can only fit one sim.
when i called oneplus support about this, they said the phone is designed as single sim and that it was a tmobile phone and thats about all the info they gave me.
i went to tmobile store and they confirmed the phone is unlocked and paid off but they wouldnt help
me any further with the dual sim functionality.
upon quick google search i found a dual sim tray for the phone and ordered it. it is arriving today. I am thinking that all i have to do is just install the new dual sim tray and have dual sims working.
however now that I am looking at the settings more clearly i see that the imei for both sim slot settings are the same.
i checked the firmware on the phone and it seems that guy who sold it to me installed the nonbranded firmware but i am not sure if it is still the tmobile branded firmware. Does the Tmobile firmware startup with the Tmobile logo? how can i know i am running the latest international firmware ?
are the imei numbers the same because it is still on the tmobile firmware?
the build number it reads is 9.5.11.GM21AA
Also, if i pop the two tmobile sims in it, will the device be blacklisted simce they both will have the same imei?

You are running international firmware.
The software is strange and just like the 6T it reports only one IMEID.
If you put in two SIMS they will have different IMEID.
Look in the forums for threads on T-Mobile converted to dual sim.
Thank you for the quick reply. The dual sim trey will arrive today so I will try it and report back.
Thank you.

If he is running a T-Mobile op7 that has been converted to International then he only has one IMEI. That same IMEI can be used in both Sim slots but you were wanting to be careful if you're using the same provider for example and an mvno that is on T-Mobile and then a second Sim that is also on T-Mobile although T-Mobile is one of the few that is pretty relaxed about duplicates. If you're on something like AT&T you'll want to pay a lot more attention.
If you are using two completely different Networks then you should not have an issue.
I know this works because I am using a T-Mobile version that was converted to International myself with a dual SIM tray.
If when the phone boots up you see that T-Mobile logo then you were still on the T-Mobile software. On the international version you'll see a little Android droid logo at the bottom and a OnePlus logo.

Hi,
New around here...
Any idea on how to unlock a T-mobile locked One Plus 7 Pro?
T-Mobile says I don't qualify for unlocking as I'm the 3rd owner and not having a T-Mobile account and SIM.
Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated as I'm going to inEurope for a while and need to insert local SIM cards for better rates.
Many thanks
Cris

Sprint Customer, T-Mobile Locked/SIM

So I'm an idiot. When I went to pre-order, I selected T-Mobile since they didn't have a Sprint option and I figured they were "merged" by now. Apparently that's not the case. I was reluctant to get the Unlocked model.
When I got the phone yesterday, I spent 4 hours on the phone (Note 8) and a worthless trip to one of the "Sprint/T-Mobile" stores. On the last call, a guy from Sprint said my IMEI number was not in the database yet -- I'm guessing because it shipped about 5 days earlier than expected. He would elevate the issue so it would and he'd call me back once it was added, then I could transfer my Sprint SIM from my Note to my T-Mobile Fold 2. He didn't call back.
The guy at the store said I'd have to call T-Mobile to get them to unlock it so I could put it on Sprint. But they won't talk to me if I don't have an account with them and that I'd have to talk to Sprint.
I want to keep my cell phone number, so now I'm wondering if I just open a new T-Mobile account and get my number ported to T-Mobile. I've been with Sprint for 22 years so I'm reluctant to do that even though they're going to be one network -- but probably not for a while.
Recommendations?

File an FCC Complaint. It's kind of the nuclear option but in my experience when it comes to cell phone and working with wireless providers (as well as internet) that's really the only thing that seems to get them to treat the customer as a customer. Even if the phone isn't compatible that will at least get someone from the Executive Offices on the phone with you to lay out what is happening and how to fix it.

I got my phone Tmobile variant Wed paid in full and tried to unlock it in the phone settings. Didn't work. So called up Tmobile. He told me to do what i already tried. Told him it didn't work. He took my IMEI and he put me on hold. Then he came back and said to try again in 3 days and if i still can't unlock it to call back. I too think maybe it's because the phone isn't technically out yet. I'm using Fi which will only be using Tmobile anyway so i went ahead and flashed unlocked firmware. Then i downloaded the Fi app and was able transfer my number. But of course being on unlocked firmware the unlock option is now gone. So i may flash the carrier firmware this weekend and try unlocking again.
I'm currently in the same predicament. I was going to get the unlocked version but it was going to take another month to ship so I went ahead with the T-mobile version. After being unable to activate the phone, after 2+ hours working with CS the answer I finally ended up with from a T-Mobile rep (Sprint was useless) was to go into a store today and they can transfer my account over to T-Mobile and then I'd be able to activate the new one. The process will also unlock the rest of my phones so that they can accept a new SIM card from T-Mobile. Not what I wanted to do but since I can't get an unlocked version it may be the only option I have because after playing with this phone there is no way I'm getting rid of it.
Last night, I finally got my situation RESOLVED!
I went to another Sprint/T-Mobile store and found someone who knew how to transfer my Sprint account and Phone Number over to T-Mobile using the same SIM card! I chose the Magenta Plus plan -- and am even saving $20 a month for being "Over 55"! I'm now a VERY happy camper who's now getting 150Mbps downloads (so far). The Manager said he noticed the Model Number of my Z Fold 2 and thinks it was the Verizon model which may have caused some of the problems.
