After I bought our two 8Ts in April 2021 I also bought a spare charger and cable from eBay.
I decided to check the charging speed of both the OnePlus charger and the eBay one.
I put together a spreadsheet with the results (attached).
The raw data was produced by running su -c dumpsys batterystats --checkin | egrep ",csd|,dsd" > /sdcard/batt.csv and loading the results into the spreadsheet.
Since then, I've upgrade from OOS 11 to 12 and then 13 and wondered if there's been any difference in charging speed.
Note that I've "normalised" the results so that the graphs all end up at 100% after 1 hour. The raw data just has time intervals between each 1% increase.
My thoughts: it's clear that OOS 12 was worse that 11 or 13. And given that the 11 and 13 results were taken 18 months apart, then they are reasonably close - I'd expect some degradation over time.
Note that I also have done a lot of heavy testing of TWRP that has involved reformatting /data many times, and installing many different roms. So I would not be surprised if there's been degradation due to heavy usage of my phone.

I'm rooted with the GB 2.3.3 update and stock battery with Juicedefender and Setcpu installed. Battery life has definitely made a difference over Froyo and I'm pretty satisfied with the fewer trips to the wall-charger. However, I was wondering why the camera and gallery takes up 46% of my battery I haven't used the camera and I've tried restarting it the phone, but they still persist in the battery list. Anyone with a similar issue?
I don't see an issue. That doesn't mean the camera is still running. It just means you havn't really used your phone for anything. With the power saving settings you have, and the fact that you hardly used the phone in two days, you could have used the camera for 3 minutes and probably would have counted for 20 %
You don't wanna know where this was sent from.
I thought about that too. I did put the phone into airplane mode over-night and also used it to play music with the screen off for a couple of hours, which it why the levels might indicate like I hardly used the phone. But that's the mystery, I never used the camera, at all over the past 2 days.

[Q] Battery Life study over 12 hours

Hi Everyone,
I have been using CM12 Nightlies since they were out and have had better battery life than CM11s untill the last 2 weeks when battery life has gone half. With the same Usage, i now get to about 35% remaining over 6 hours , where earlier i would still have 60-65%.
I thought it was a passing thing with the nightlies but the problem did not go. Hence did a bit of testing today. Following are the results.
What is bothering me specifically is even basic usage of Facebook/Chrome is draining battery at 1% every 4 minutes or so.
I would like to know if this kind of battery drain is common or is it specific to my device.
This was mostly testing the idle battery time. I will be conducting a normal usage test tomorrow.
Please find attached the Better Battery Stats dump , Logcat, Screenshot & an excel file of all these entries for anyone who wants to compare.

Android System Battery High

Anyone have any tips on what I can disable on a stock non rooted device to get my Android System battery usage down? It's always on top and is usually in excess of 25%. As it stands I can't even get a day out of this thing with only 1.5 hrs of screen on time.
Maybe the battery is bad, phone is only a couple weeks old.
Oh and I should mention that there's no wakelocks or anything strange, it appears it's a legitimate battery drain. My screen brightness is low as well and today I never woke it up outside, just inside abient light. WiFi is off as well.

A thread all by myself, cool.
Today my battery has been unbelievable, only dropped 28% in 12 with plenty of use. I don't know what to think.
Same issue here.
I've had the phone for 5 days now.
First 3 were a blast with over 5 hours SOT.
I am now getting little over 2 hours SOT thanks to Android System.
Lonely threads come with expensive devices. No support, No Roms, No Development.
Anyhow, For your issue, Try minimizing the permissions of builtin apps. Disable autorun, and use greenify.

Android OS battery usage / stay awake

Device: SM-G920F, LUX CSC, 6.0.1 May 2016 ROM, stock, not rooted
OK, so after spending three hours figuring out an insane Android System battery drain problem (caused by a *backup* wakelock worked-around by disabling Google backups), I have another problem with the Android OS battery usage. Now, this one is somewhat better - I can live with 10% drop per night (8 hours), but is still not normal. Did lots of searching on these kernel wakelocks, but no cookie:

1. Wifi and bluetoothing scanning for improved location are off.
2. NFC is off
3. S Health is disabled
4. Tried turning off all the "smart" Samsung features
5. Cache wiped (though I never believed in this voodoo
At this point I'm all out of ideas. Any help? Also, what's your overnight Android OS battery usage? Thanks!
We have all big thread about battery drain
