Question Band 28 - iQOO 7

This phone suppose to have this band, but I can't manage to use the band with my carrier. It always swaps to a different band, check it with another phone and service works fine in b28. So, is there a way to force the band on the phone, or the phone doesn't have the band, or how can I check which bands are available on phone.

As far as i know, it can be change via engeering mode ..you can search more on google

[Q] Abroad and stuck no data! HELP!

Hello,
So i've got this nicely unlocked, shiny, G2x. (Running MIUI right now, please don't judge me) Anyways, I'm in Morocco, and am trying to use Maroc Telecom (IAM) which has 3g data (their site even claims HSPA+) and these are the frequencys they use:
GSM 900 / GSM 1800 / UMTS 2100
And copy pasted from the T-Mobile website, the G2x uses:
Quad band GSM (850/900/1800/1900 MHz), Dual band UMTS (1700/2100 MHZ Bands 1 & 4)
To me that looks compatible. Trouble is, i'm getting no data whatsoever, not even 2g, in an area that I know should have at least 3g. I've signed up for the plan correctly, I'm sure of that. And my G2x automatically picked up the APN settings when I first turned it on (and I verified that they are correct) but still not a hint of internet access. This is driving me crazy!! any hints would be greatly appreciated.
Just guessing, but does it think you're roaming. Maybe try enabling data roaming to see if it recognizes the data then.

It wouldn't be roaming if he bought a sim for that system as he says. Probably APN has a typo or not selected. Have to push radio button so it has a green dot to enable the APN. If that doesn't work then contact carrier to reset data on the account. I have had to do that in the past here in Thailand. Have you also tried turning the phone off and on, or doing airplane mode. Sometimes that is needed once.
Thanks for the responses!
Unfortunately, i've tried and double tried all those things, except getting the carrier to reset the data plan. I'll do that next. Now I just have to get through a bunch of menus in French & Arabic
Are you running Market Enabler. It can screw you up royally if you change sim and it was set to fake at boot. I had that on a Nexus One and had to factory reset the phone to get data working again when I changed sim.
Thanks for the advice. I don't think i'm faking my sim - unless that's something that comes with CM07 and I just don't know about it. Also I tried it on stock before flashing with no different result, so i'm pretty sure that's not it. Went to the office of Maroc Telecom, who replaced my sim (but still no luck) and an INWI sim which i'd previously been able to get 2g coverage on now gives me nothing. It is the weirdest thing and I feel stuck. Has anyone actually gotten a g2x to work on any other network?? is there some sort of Tmobile lock which is preventing me because i'm not using a tmobile sim? (And i'm not talking about the phone being 'locked', obviously i've gotten it unlocked, and can make calls just fine, and did have that short spell of 2g data on INWI) Anyways, i'm about ready to throw this very expensive phone out the window, because what is a smartphone without data?? Thanks anyways for your advice.
same, problem.
How can I solve it?
Maybe try to use other broadband?
I use my G2X in Thailand on TOT3G with no problems. They run 3G on Band 1 (2100/1900). Figure out what band it is. There about fifteen different 3G bands in use. Most people don't realize it but 3G radios use two frequency spectrums at the same time. There is an uplink and downlink. For example 2100 Band 1 uses 2100Mhz downlink and a 1900Mhz uplink. Band 4 is 1700Mhz uplink and 2100Mhz downlink. So the 3G radio in the G2X also transmits on 1900Mhz. But the 1900 Band 2 uses 1800Mhz as an uplink, which the 3G radio in the G2X doesn't support. Most companies that say they are on 2100Mhz are referring to Band 1. If they are running Band 1 the G2X definitely supports it. If you have sim unlocked the phone there is nothing preventing you from getting 3G reception on any carrier in the world.
Download "Network" (https://market.android.com/details?id=de.mangelow.network&feature=search_result) from the Android Market and run it. Scroll down to where it says what type of connection you want and make sure "WCDMA preferred" is selected. If the phone somehow got set to "2G only" you will never get 3G reception until you change it. That happened to me once on a Nexus One and took me a while to figure it out.
CM7 and some other custom roms are known to be having connectivity issues. I suggest you flash back to stock and make sure your apn is correct. If your apn is wrong in any way, the connection will be refused by the cell system.

[Q] Can't turn on 1700 band

Hi All
I have a problem, and don't really know that to do. I have a Samsung Galaxy S Relay 4g, rooted, running the latest nightly and modem. Recently I went on vacation to Europe and while there used local sim cards from t-mobile Eu. At first nothing worked, Then I read some forums and from there learned of the *#*#4636#*#* code. Used the Select Radio Band option and switched to the Euro band selection. All was well Europe SIM cards worked Data, voice everything.
I get back to Canada, and I figure I need to switch back to the USA band. So I do. but still no service, no voice or data. I can get roaming. but that's not really an option. I see the network operators Bell and Rogers, but no Wind or Mobilicity(who use the 1700 band). I'm on wind. So to me it looks like the 1700 mhz band is turned off on my phone.
So far I have tried...
Used the *#*#4636#*#* multiple times switching bands...
Tried using the settings menu to select wcdma preferred or global
Re-flashing the modem
Flashing to the newest nightly
Tried a verified good SIM card
Nothing works....
I'm thinking I may have to go back to the stock t mobile software and try to turn on the radio there...
So does anyone have an idea what could be missing? Or how to specifically turn on the 1700 mhz band? The select radio band pop up only has two options Euro band and USA band.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Okay!
So I think I'm back up and running, all AWS networks in Canada show up. Haven't tried data or voice, but I'll be doing that on the way home from work...I'll post after if things still don't work...
So these are the steps I took....
1. Using CWM I did a full back up to an SD card.
2. Then using CWM I flashed the stock JB firmware from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=41209211&postcount=1
3. In the Dialer app. I dialed *#197328640# navigated through the gsm, lte, wcdma options and set the band selection to automatic.
4. Tested phone on stock to see if it picks up the networks...and it did!
5. Using CWM restored my original cyanogenmod install with all settings and software.
6. Tested network connectivity again, and the networks now show up.
On the way home I'll do some tests with data and voice.
Looks like everything works! woot!
It looks like there's a bug in the band selection code. It should be offering you the AWS frequencies, as well an an automatic everything choice.
I'll look into a fix for apexqtmo. In addition, I will nuke the CDMA options, they're not needed and probably causing other problems.

[Q] 1800MHz LTE Band

This phone is the first phone Verizon is selling (except the iPhones) that has the 1800MHz LTE Band (band 3).
When I saw this I was particularly excited as I visit Australia often and that's the band Telstra uses. I am currently in Australia now, and I am unable to pick up any LTE on this phone. I have gone through every possible mode in the phoneinfo app, but none will get any LTE signal.
I am using a Telstra SIM that has LTE service and I put in the correct APN settings.
The only possible explanation that comes to mind is that Verizon is blocking the 1800MHz LTE band from being used, just like the S4 came with AWS but only a software update pushed later on was able to unlock that band. If that were the case, is there any way around it?
Any other ideas why it's not working?
I tested my SIM in the same location in a iPhone and it got lte

Bit of a necro-post, but I asked both HTC and Verizon associates and they said that it should work...so don't know if some bad information has been passed my way or GSM/LTE is just being funky (I do remember reading that has been, or was, a problem)

Unlocking LTE Bands

Hey guys,
I'm really interested in picking up a 4c, and would be even more inclined to do so if LTE bands can be unlocked (Ideally bands 2, 4 and 12).
This has been done successfully in the past on Xiaomi devices (specifically the Mi Note Pro with the Snapdragon 810). Since the 808 shares a very similar architecture to the 810, I'm hoping it can be done on the 4c successfully.
Here are some resources and guides to start with:

http://en.miui.com/thread-154862-1-1.html

http://www.xda-developers.com/remove-band-restrictions-qualcomm/
Hopefully someone with a Mi 4c is able to try and confirm their success!
That's very interesting! I wish also band 20 (800 MHz) could be unlocked since it's largely used in Europe.
Mee too interested to unlock (if possibile) 800 mhz
One more interested in the 800. :good:
B4 (AWS)
Im up for B4 (AWS) :good:
doesn't have it unlocked but it seems it makes really no difference. Don't trust the few articles from people who did not even test...
I have LTE bands everywhere (work, home, way between) and I live in a zone where it is kinda hard to get...

It depends a lot on what network you're on. The LTE bands that come enabled by default on the 4C don't support any US networks.
800 mhz (band 20) would be great
What LTE bands does mi4c support?
Does anyone know what LTE Bands the Xiaomi mi4c supports out of the box?
Been struggling to find a reliable source/list

800MHz?
Hi,
Bought mi4c to find out that I can't get LTE working in my village
I live 12kilometers from a bigger city. There is LTE available in my village but I think they operate on 800MHz and in city at 1,6GHz.
I dreamed about using my new 4g connection here after 3years with Galaxy S3
I have to try these guides. Thank you for providing them.

Noboby tried to unluck bands?
Wouldn't advise in case it bricks the phone. If there is a way to unbrick, then go for it it

In Snapdragon phones there is always a way to unbrick but it could be very frustrating and time intense
I have tested it on many of my snapdragon phones.
On some phones, it works flawlessly. On other, the signal strength is weaken but works nevertheless. However, some phones especially carrier ones have anti tampering mechanism which reverts the value back to original after restart. However, usually this is solved by a custom kernel and custom rom but then again, it gets really tough to get into diag mode in custom modes.
Never had any problems.
But you MUST backup your EFS partition via recovery or using QPST / QXDM else you would have a lot of problems if you messed up the values like no signals or broken wifi or sensors etc. and SAVE them on your phone as well as on your PC. (at least two backups)
As long as you take the above two precautions, you will never mess up your phone!
Its supports LTE band 3 and 7 which is mostly used in europe, middle east and asia. However even after you select "Prefer LTE" from the setting it might not connect.
You can try this (this will change on reboot so will try to see if i can change within the code):
1. Enter *#*#4636#*#* in the diapad.
2. Select phone information 1 (there are two sims so select the first one)
3. Change to LTE/WCDMA (if it doesn't connect to LTE then try "LTE only" and then change it to LTE/WCMDA)
If the above doesn't connect to LTE then your carrier is offering LTE at a different frequency.
For me atleast the default APN were wrong, so i had to manually change the APN restart and then do the dialer thing.

There is NO LTE/WCDMA option only. Please see screenshot and point out what option I'm supposed to pick
screen shot of "phone information 1" --> http://imgur.com/BELHKaO
Which one of those am I supposed to tap on?
I picked "TD-SCDMA, WCDMA and LTE" but that broke network connectivity.
EDIT: Please also take a look at this: http://imgur.com/gallery/yzIHD49
I am currently connected to "3 ITA 3G" and would like to connect to "3 ITA 4G" but tapping on that makes a pop up appear "Registered on network". However no 4G appears in the bar on top. It remains stuck in 3G or H+.
3 ITA doesn't have LTE on band 20 [8oo Mhz LTE].
So why aren't I picking up 4G?
@AndrewIT im not in italy, however from Wiki it seems your carrier supports 4G on band 3 (1800).
select the "3 ITA 4G", then follow my steps. You have to scroll up that list in screenshot http://imgur.com/BELHKaO and you'll see "LTE only" and "LTE/WCDMA" option.

Thank you! I was finally able to see the 4G icon on my Mi4c.
Entered *#*#4636#*#* in the diapad.
Selected phone information 1 (there are two sims so select the first one)
I scrolled up [see screenshot] and set WCDMA and LTE from the list.
Screenshot: http://imgur.com/OJ98uQi
You can see that I successfully picked up 4G signal, but it was extremely poor, only one bar standing close to a window.
As I move inside the house it loses 4G and gets back to 3G or H+.
It seems that I'm way too far from the LTE antenna to get a good 4G signal.
Guys I am kinda lost here, so is there a good chance that it supports especially 800Mhz band or not ? And when I am here, is there hardware difference between TDD-LTE and FDD-LTE version? How do I find out which one I have ?

LG Phoenix 2 (K371) Network mode issue

Hello,
I've got a LG Phoenix 2(K371) phone that I bought from Bestbuy and unlocked through AT&T
The phone is supposed to support the UMTS B1(2100 Mhz) frequency (as stated in specs).
I'm in North Africa right now for a business trip and unfortunately I wasn't able to get any 3G data with the local carrier that uses the UMTS 2100 Mhz frequency, I'm stuck with only 2G while my other phone works just fine.
I tried to change my Network Mode from 4G to 3G but the Network mode menu is missing!!!!!!
My questions are:
1- Does the K371 really supports the UMTS 2100 Mhz frequency ?
2- How can I change my Network mode from 4G/Lte to 3g/WCDMA?
Thanks
Did you ever get this sorted out? I am in Germany and can only get 2G also.
Same here in the UK! Only 2G.
My understanding is that either the official specifications of the phone are wrong - it doesn't support the HSDPA frequency of 2100 MHz, or (most likely) this frequency is disabled in the phone software settings since [email protected] doesn't use this frequency in the US. In any case it is very frustrating: I bought this phone convinced it is going to work while I am travelling in Europe, but obviously it doesn't as 2G data connection is useless.
Same problem in SE Asia. Phone doesn't have the right LTE bands but HSPC should work. Only getting 2G. No option in the hidden menu to change the modem RAT settings that I can see. *#546368#*371#
Anyone have any luck using the k371 overseas?
Same here...
I tried every single method I know in hopes that I could root the phone, but no luck!!!
I believe at&t disabled the said frequencies....
Our only bet is a proper root, and a custom rom..
any update on no UMTS 2100Mhz?
any solutoion on this issue?
I have found a solution. I am using it outside the US. I contacted my cellular provider, gave them the phone name (LG K371) and they sent me a text message with automatic settings for their data network. As soon as I opened it, I got a message like "data settings have been updated" and now it works on 3G and 4G without any issues. You may also be able to find these data configuration settings on your cell service provider's web site.
Seriously???
Please let me know is it AIRTEL service? since i am from INDIA.
we have the same problem in 2 mobiles..
Hmmm
I tried of calling and received setting for MMS , GPRS, INERNET but still i m seeing 2G symbol as E - edge detection
Please help me
Hi this is sainath
am also facing same problem, any one got solutions
please give reply.

Sorry for a late reply, but here's the real scoop about the LG K371 (AT&T)
First, being a "cheap" LG phone, there are very few bands actually included, and they only cover the main (not all) AT&T US frequencies, therefore it's no surprise that doesn't work on all overseas carriers. Again, they are covering only major US bands, and despite what it shows on the box or specs it may not be always true. B1 (2,100Mhz) band has different sub-bands, therefore it doesn't mean that the US B1 will work on an overseas B1, let alone the air-interface (2G/3G/4G/LTE) may not all be supported even if this sub-band exists.
Second, being that it's an AT&T phone, they are knows to load firmware with major restrictions for band selection called RAT Restrictions, which cannot be undone unless you can reflash it with a non-customized firmware, but you can't do that either due to the locked bootloader. A better option is to always go with the un-customized or Tmobile K7/K8 because they always have a lot more bands enabled than the AT&T version. Better yet, go with a Samsung which have more bands even on the AT&T models.
Bottom line, "cheap" phones along with AT&T restrictions will not work everywhere, despite the specs, and there's nothing you can do about it.
And my favorite old adage is "You get what you pay for!" LOL
