Question Will the S22 Ultra 'U' edition be dual sim (sim plus esim) ??? - Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra

I know there will be B and '0' versions like s21 ultra that are dual sim, but does anyone know if the US versions of s22 will have their esims enabled like the s21U (well, they finally were)? I hope so. Anyone know anything?

Samsung US claims the US models will have Nano + ESIM, but I trust Samsung info like I trust a politician.

A little eSim hope
If you watch this below video review carefully you can see on the box the dude has the US U1 unlocked Samsung direct versions of the phone and then when he goes into setting you can clearly see Sim Manager there

Good news
Checked the S22 out today at T-Mobile and it defiantly does support Esim
Sim manager is right in there on all 3 models which are running One 4.1

No, he's not. He promoted a scam phone, sold by a scam artist. then went on a racist rant when he was called out on it.

Droid Life confirmed with screen shot on a TMO S22 that Esim is active in USA

For all wondering, I received my ultra 22 unlocked and it has a SIM card manager, and I have set it up with SIM and esim. So yes is the answer to my original question.

You did it with the Unlocked version from Samsung right? OP was wondering if it would work the carrier variants. I'm also interested in this. Want to run dual sim, on different networks using a carrier branded version.

I am the op!
Yes, on the unlocked U version from Samsung. I have TMOB on esim and another carrier on SIM. Works same as my previous s22 which was a dual SIM. The only thing I haven't figured out is why I only see 5G and not 5G UC on TMOB, whether I get it or just dont see it.

I think you may be a little confused. There is no unlock u version from samsung. If you got it from Samsung and it's unlocked then it is the u1 version. The unlocked only means the SIM card. If you don't see the 5guc then you have the u1 version. If you were on the u version of T-Mobile's firmware then you would see the 5guc.
I am on the AT&t firmware on my s22 ultra. In the SIM card manager I don't see an option to turn my physical Sim into an esim. And the only way I can add an esm is if I have the QC code.

It am not confused! I have the U1 , that is correct. Though that doesn't answer why I would not see 'UC'. I have seen it for example on an unlocked Pixel 6 pro. Do you know for certain that no one with unlocked U1 sees UC?

With a physical dual sim model, can you use both physical sims and an esim?

mine is 1 nano +esim

Just finished setting up eSIM on the US SM-S908U1 S22 Ultra today working great better then expected.
I'm running my Sim biz card number off Xfinity mobile and activated the eSIM personal number off T-Mobile coz Xfinity don't support eSIM. Feels great to finally not have to carry around 2 phones for the first time.

lol, just replied here, to the other post about uw not being displayed. uggg....
more coffee down the hatch,
(any way to delete a post ?? sorry)

As you can see out of those 3 Bands on TMobile the Ultra only supports one of them. Band 28. So you might never see UC. It Depends what Band TMobile is using in your area.

As you can see from the attached using BAMD SELECTOR, my U1 has 3 of the TMOB 5G bands. Which one is UC?

...also I'm getting over 500mbs speed in NYC which I assume is UC. And when I compared to a T-Mobile ultra 22 in store which showed UC ieas consistently getting the same or.faster speed in my U1.

I think international variants doesn't work with US 5G because these doesn't support combinations used in US and also 5G may not be enabled in your network. On 5G the device must support EN_DC combination used network. In cacombos.com you can check Carrier Aggregation and EN_DC combination support of devices.

Question CSC and 5G

Hi there, I have a new S22 ultra SM-908E but the region is for Latin America and other places in Europe. Everything works except 5G. Is there something I can do to fix this?
I look around for SM-S908E firmware with CSC TMB but there is none. I have Odin and tried different versions for the same model but no luck with 5g. I did this with an S21 ultra and 5g light up once I was able ti find the correct firmware for usa.
Thanks in advance..
There is no TMB CSC because no US carrier carries the SM-S908E. There is zero US firmware for that model.
What carrier? If T-Mobile you dont have 5G because its missing T-Mobile's 5G bands. Most specifically n71. It does support n41 on paper but I wouldnt count on that actually working.
Its also missing LTE band 71 for T-Mobile which for my area as an example mean you'd have no service while everyone around you would.

Because your S21 Ultra most likely supports the bands while your S22 Ultra does not
Sorry to tell you but S908E doesn't have 5G mmWave. You can only use 5G DSS. USA models has mmWave.

Hi Sorry to dig up an old thread. I'm in Canada and I have the same issue with no 5G on my 908E. When you say that there's no 5G mmWave, can't it use DSS to get 5g instead? If it can shouldn't it still be able to catch 5g that way?
TIA

Same issue here. No 5G on Telus, Bell or Rogers. I double checked the bands and the S908E should be compatible.
Did you find out what the problem was? Thanks
Same here on ATT and TMobile.. on att 5g bands are 5 and 77, both supported by s908e
On TMobile the 5g bands are 41 and 71, the phone supports 41 but not 71.. obviously no mmWave, but I should still be getting "low" or "mid" 5g, but I only get 4g/lte..
I have this app "net monster" that says 5g nsa is available at my location, but unable to connect
Anyone find any solutions?

As I know T-Mobile use B2, B4 and B5 for its 4G network.
Due to the NSA type, the phone needs to get information via 4G and it looks like S908E doesn't have these Combo.
S908E for n41 Combo: B1 B3 B8 B20 (information from https://cacombos.com/device/SM-S908E )
So this may be the cause that S908E cannot get 5G access via B2 B4 B5 ?

Question Tracfone Samsung A53 S536DL, same as "U" or "V"

Does anyone know the band spec of S536DL? Is it same as Tmobile side? or is it Same as Verizon?
Anyone able to flash this one to either stock firmware? tks
I'd like to know the same thing so I know what cellular radio bands it has. I just got the A53 5G on Straight Talk, & and it's the same specs as the unlocked version: 128GB of storage & 6GB of RAM - not the 4GB which it is listed as having - and was my main concern. It could Be the "V" version since Straight Talk/Tracfone/Total Wireless all use Verizon Towers. But the "U" version would also work well with Verizon bands. The "V" version has mmWave and my thinking is the Tracfone Samsung A53 S536DL would have that clearly marked in the advertising as a marketing ploy if that was the case... so my 50% guess is it's the same as the "U". But then again it uses Verizon towers, so maybe "V"? I don't know of an app that will scan the phone and tell me what radio bands it has.
I entered service mode by dialing *#0011# in the phone dialer and seeing as I was connected to LTE band 13, so I've come to the conclusion it's definitely the "V" variant since the "U" doesn't support band 13. I don't think you can flash it because as far as I know the boot loader is locked. But if you SIM unlock it, you'll get all the same compatible LTE T-Mobile bands that the "U" has (2,4,12,66). For 5G you'll get Band n260 (39 GHz) & Band n261 (28 GHz). So it will totally be usable on T-Mobile. You'd only be missing out on one 5G band (Band n41 (2.5 GHz). I don't now what carrier you have but mine is a Straugh Talk Pre-paid and I'm going to unlock it after 60 days and use it with Mint Mobile which uses the T-Mobile network.

How did that turn out? I am thinking of doing the same thing. HSN A53 Tracfone deal, then unlock to mint after the bundled plan is used up.

Question International Version Availability and 5G Bands

I found the answer to this, so for others, the 5G bands are not the same on the international variant:

Hi All -
I've had a rooted phone for many years (currently a Pixel 5). I know US Samsung phones are not rootable.
Q1 - I'm looking for the international version of the Flip 4 but can't find it on AMZ, EBay, or anywhere else; is it not launched yet?
Q2- When it is, how can I check the available bands for compatibility with 5G T-Mobile (n41, n71, n260, n261)?
I know the US version has those bands but I'm not sure I want to go back to a locked ecosystem.
Vzw on my F926b experience.
Sim has to be in slot 2. Rooted to gain access to ServiceMode app (*#73#). Did some tricks that helped DSS control, MIMO 4x4 (4xALL), Prune (removed), and ignored CA Combination not matching. So far I've been able to get 4g+ (aka 4.5g) and 5g+ when isolating the lte to bands 2 or 66 (couldn't get it under band 4, 5, 13). That said, 5g band n5 kicks in (never got 41, 66, or 77 to work). If the phone idles it's goes back to 4g/4g+ but under load back up to 5g+ (if anyone knows how to hold 5g I'dlike to know). I live in SF Bay Area including SF day trips.

Question S22 Ultra SM-S908U1 - it's the best choice?

Hello
I have a question. S22 Ultra SM-S908U1 - it's the best choice?
I am looking for a phone that I can use in the USA and in the EU (mainly in Poland).
In USA I use T-mobile USA and I'm looking model which one have dual sim or sim+esim.
In Poland I use usually Play P4 (need bands N1-2100 for 5G and B1, B3, B7 and B20 for 4G)
and sometimes T-mobile Poland (needs bands n1-2100, n78- 3500 for 5G and B1, B3, B7 and B20 for 4G)
Will the S22 Ultra SM-S908U1 be the best choice for me?
all S22 Ultra SM-S908U1 unlocked version from ebay have available 1 physical card sim + 1 esim?
other available variants S22 ultra:
SM-S9080/DS, SM-908E/DS, SM-S908B/DS
these above models are probably less compatible than SM-S908U1?
Thank you
I have looked at these options, I have always went for the dual SIM (SM-S908B/DS) for example. I have no problems with 4G anywhere I go, but 5G is limted as all the bands are not available out of the box. US model seem you can unlock these bands, however I have yet to find a way for SM-S908B/DS.
Not really sure why I need 5G to begin with, as I use less than 200Mbps a day and 4G it pretty robust in the countries I have traveled to in Asia and EU.
I checked this model on this site.
But I am not sure about the trust of the site....
