What exactly is ultra pixel?

HTC came up with ultra pixel mobile in it's variant HTC ONE.
What exactly does ultra pixel mean? What is the difference between normal megapixel and ultra pixel? How does it effect the quality of pictures and videos?
As you heard that nokia 808 pure view has 41 megapixel camera so picture quality really high which forms ultra pixel

Is the camera of the P20 mostly a downgrade from the P10 PLUS?

Talking about the P20, NOT PRO.
On paper, the specs are very similar. If anything the P10 Plus has more camera features likeOIS.
I can upgrade my P10 Plus to a P20 for free but doesn't seem to be much of an upgrade?
The P10 Plus is plenty fast still. And I care about the MAIN camera more.
Please help me decide.
From Huawei.com:
P20
Main Camera
Dual-lens camera:
12 MP (RGB, f/1.8 aperture) + 20 MP (Monochrome, f/1.6 aperture)
supports autofocus (laser focus, deep focus, phase focus, contrast focus)
Note: The photo pixels may vary depending on the shooting mode.
This Note also worries me...the P10 Plus page doesn't have this Note.

P10 Plus
Main Camera
20 MP Monochrome + 12 MP RGB, F1.8 (So I take it that both cameras are F1.8)
OIS (Optical Image Stabilization)
Dual-tone Flash
PDAF + CAF + Laser + Depth Auto Focus (same)
2x Hybrid Zoom
4K Video Recording

So from this, it is the very same 12 MP RGB camera?
The difference is that the BW camera has a smaller aperture. 1.8->1.6.
And does not have:
OIS (Optical Image Stabilization)
Dual-tone Flash

Whats more in Geekbench 4 the P10 Plus trounces the P20 in single and multicore performance. I have both phones right now (update) and in GB4, MY P10 Plus has higher scores. I know what it says on websites 960 vs 970 https://www.notebookcheck.net/Kirin-960-vs-Kirin-970_8366_9236.247596.0.html. Marginal improvement on paper of 1-10% but in the case of P20 and P10 Plus, the P10 Plus, maybe its higher clocked than default, is the winner by a lot.
So I'm confused, I gravitated towards Huawei because of the camera but they're pretty lazy in terms of CPU performance unlike Snapdragon increments are night and day. I don't care about CPU per say but it would be NICE if the 970 is a significant upgrade over the 960, which it's not.

P20 has bigger sensor and it does have laser Focus as well, so it is upgrade
Can you reference this?
Also the P10 Plus has ALL the same focus mechanism the P20 has. Please see the Op.

N20U Selfie Comapred to S20U

Hi,
Has anyone done/seen a comparison of how the selfie camera on N20U (with 10MP) compares to S20U (with 40MP). I honestly don't know why Samsung degraded the MP count on Selfie but want to check how the selfie is compared to S20U and if there is a huge loss in quality

Because the 10mp camera have phase detection dual pixel auto focus but the 40mp one don't so the Note 20 10Mp selfie can take better focused pictures than the s20 ultra 40mp one

S20 ULTRA VS MIRRORLESS CAMERA

Anyone have a opinion between the S20 Ultras camera vs mirrorless camera?

Question Blurry Camera

Hi new member here.
Is anyone else having issues with the camera on the s22 exynos? Just zooming in a little makes the camera so blurry and pixelated. The zoom on my friends s21 ultra is so much better which makes me think I may have a faulty device. I reset all settings in the camera app but that didn't improve anything.
Try a hard reboot and clear the system cache.
If the former solves it may still be a hardware issue if it keeps reoccurring.

How much are you zooming in? The camera is 10x optical. Anything beyond 10x is digital zoom which results in pixelated images. Digital zoom is nothing more than cropping the image. Also, as you zoom in, it makes it harder to hold the phone/camera steady; which can cause motion blur.
