Display problems on Redmi 9A - Advice - Redmi 9A Guides, News, & Discussion

Hello everyone!
I have in my hands a Xiaomi Redmi 9A, which belonged to my daughter's partner, abandoned after a fall and the breaking of the LCD display.
I decide to recover it and buy some material to revive it (Display complete with frame, internal cover of the motherboard with glass covering the camera and flash, back cover of the smartphone).
The material arrives, I mount all the electronics on the new display, I turn on the display, everything works.
I see the activation screen, where it shows me the phone numbers paired with the smartphone and without wasting time I decide to delete everything and proceed with the sequence found on the internet (Recovery Mode - ON / OFF button and Volume +).
I perform the cleaning (WIPE DATA) and turn it back on.
Surprise!!!
The activation screen reappears.
As I look for a way around the problem, the screen turns off.
I press the ON / OFF button and the screen lights up for a moment and then turns off.
I turn off the smartphone, turn it back on.
After vibrating, I only see a "RedMI" flash and then total darkness.
After a few seconds I press ON / OFF and I see a flash of the activation screen.
Unable to understand what happened, I walk away from my station illuminated by a lamp and sit comfortably on a sofa, where there is little light and I notice that the display lights up with a very low backlight.
I get up to go back to the most illuminated area, the display increases in intensity and then turns off.
I understand that the adaptive brightness control of the smartphone does its job, but I don't understand why with a half-scale excursion of the brightness adjustment, the smartphone stays on; while, at the passage of the half staircase, the smartphone turns off.
I play around with the adjustments a bit (Adaptive Brightness / Day-Night Light) and combine disaster.
Now the smartphone is always off because the brightness control has remained fixed after half adjustment and no longer turns on even in a completely dark room.
Even if I start a Fastboot or start Recovery Mode, the smartphone screen remains off; but the electronics are on because if I connect the USB cable to the PC I see that it loads the drivers and then I read "Android" if it is in Recovery Mode (ON / OFF and Volume +) or Fastboot (ON/OFF and Volume -) and "M2006C3LG" when it is off in the charger.
When I turn it on normally I read that the connected device is "Redmi 9a".
Should I throw it away or can it be saved?
Giorgio.
P.S.: Sorry for some mistakes. I used google translate.

I’ve made several attempts to repair it, but I can’t fix it. I’m thinking of flashing my smartphone. Anyone suggest a guide to do that?

See if you can reach fastboot (volume down + power button) if yes, you can use a tool named XiaoMiTool v2 and that will flash it for you

Thank you for your answer. I tried your solution, but it requires unlocking the bootloader which I can't unlock because I don't have the account associated with the phone. I contacted my daughter's partner, but he doesn't remember what his account is.

Thank you for your answer. At this point I just have to get my money back and buy another display, but first I have to be sure that the motherboard is good.

MB is ok, your phone is detected. It could be lcd backlight or just faulty production. Try reconnecting flex, see if there is a folded pin

Thank you for your answer. I have already done this verification. The micro-connector and pins are ok. It will certainly be a production defect.

Solving Power Button ISSUE

Hey guys,
So my brothers Nexus 5 came to an end but i'm determine to recover it (Already Partially Recover)
Backstory:
So initially the power button wasn't working like it couldn't be pressed, and as the device was already off i decided to plug a charger in and it would enter the boot stage but enter a boot loop which further research showed me it was a issue with the powerbutton, So i came to the conclusion to remove + replace the power button so i opened it up, took a look and soldered the broken power button off, with alot of time and effort i managed to remove it and clean it up with the intentions of installing a new powerbutton i bought a fine tip solder tip however it wasn't burning properly as i noticed eventually, in which i was unable to solder a new power button on even with flux, aswell as this i managed to solder it on in which i was convinced it was a decent soldering job as all the points were clearly connected i placed the board into the device (wHICH WAS A MISTAKE) as i should've waited a solid hour, to ensure it was strong, as of this the power button had come off as i was placing the board back in which meant the button was practically scrapped and i was extremely fustrated, so i decided to screw it a put the device back together without the back casings over the board, and i wanted to see if i could bridge the connection whilst the charger was plugged in in which i did and the device booted up.
Main Question:
Now my main question is, i need a workaround for the powerbutton currently i've installed Gravity Screen for him, however it's got a high battery consumption and it's not too reliable so i'm trying to get a solid method.
I've come across a headphone jack that has a button which i can configure to be a power button (Pressy or iKey)
Now that the issue with Locking + Unlocking is solved
How can i power the device back on when it shuts down due to lack of battery as i've sealed the phone back up, He currently runs Android 6.0 MRA58N, My main idea was to Root his Device + get TWRP installed however i was wondering if i could do this without rebooting his device / setting up a method to power his device via ADB however i haven't installed any ADBs etc so far.
My second idea was if i booted the device into fastboot by plugging in in the power cord and holding volume button, with the battery unplugged via the ribbon would it power on the device?
Last question is, i powered the device with the Camera Unplugged via ribbon cables however it's not working as the app just opens and closes without a FC so i was wondering if a reboot would just fix this?
ADDITIONALLY Another method could be rebooting via terminal However i'm unsure on how to use the Terminal / if i need root or not etc.
Thanks!
Contact a kernel dev. He will probably be able to remap the power button, to get it to boot from the charging screen. Or try to disable offline charging alltogether.

I'm quite new to the Nexus 5 Area, and infact i don't know any Kernal developers - Is there any chance you could probably help me out and give me some contacts etc.?

I dont do much in terms of custom kernels, but post in some kernel threads in the nexus 5 development forums, or contact the creator of the thread via pm. Just look for threads with KERNEL in the name
UPDATE!

Okay Thank you,
UPDATE:
*I've Overcome the Powerbutton issue as i've ordered Pressy/iKey which should be arriving tomorrow which will lock and unlock my screen
*I'm now trying to figure out another method to power on my device if it shuts down:
One idea was to some how get the device to power on when i plug in a charger maybe by installing TWRP
Or another method was to power it on via an ADB shell on pc Or Something like that
*I'm also trying to reboot the Device however im unsure on how to do so without a power button.

Problems with Nexus 5 screen

I apologize in advance if this has been posted before, but i have had a look around and cannot see anyone else with the same problem.
I also apologize if I this is not the correct format, this is my first post here :X
My brother brought my phone to me last week with a problem with his screen (shown is this YouTube video at the start: (this is the link following the youtube.com/ part) watch?v=4pks4idq4YI ). I fixed this by hard resetting the phone and it was fine for about a week. Today, he brought it to me and the screen was like this: (this is the bit following the imgur.com part ) /MK6eJdD . The screen reacts and changes slightly to touch, and the power button turns the screen on and off. If i press and hold the power the phone turns off and vibrates (like normal, just without the choice saying power off etc.). When turned on (by holding the power button) the screen instantly returns to how it was before it was turned off, just a different shape/pattern of the stuff on the screen.
I would like to know if i need to replace the USB flex cable to fix the problem. I am fairly confident that i can do this, (as i am doing DT and electronics for GCSE), and so, if possible, I would also like to know where i should buy an official one (if this is indeed the problem). I am in the UK if that helps with the decision .
Thank you in advance,
G

Tesco Hudl 2 boot

Hi all. I've been given a Tesco hudl 2 that has turned into a paper weight and basically tesco have washed their hands from it.
It has a common error 'No boot device. Hit ok' - but there is no response from screen or power/volume buttons to enter 'ok'
I plugged in a usb keyboard via OTG adapter and pressed enter which takes it to Boot Manager - with sub menu - Boot Options Menu
but there are no options to select and pressing enter just flashes the screen.
I have tried the factory hard reset option and doesnt work. Just turns on and turns off.
There is no charge light when plugged in, but does turn on to, again 'No boot device. Hit ok'
There is no adb access
I absolutely hate wasting tech and like to use them for other uses. Anything that can be done here?
Is the motherboard blitzed someway.
Anyway to flash a rom via SDcard or force some sort of bootloader access or recovery?
Can the rom be flashed with hardware directly on the chip (tho I don't have the equipment, just a query).
Its suppose to be a good enough IPS display with 1,920×1,200.
Ok now for the out of box ridiculous thinking. Can the mainboard be replaced with another brand of tablet with perhaps better specs.
Can these LCD panels interface with other systems at all, to perhaps a laptop via some sort of display board for a possible car project?
A lot of questions, but hope someone can shed some light. I love finding things out and fixing things, if possible.
Thanks
bump
I have replaced a dead hudl2 charging port and battery all i am getting is a faint green light but not always. however still not booting any ideas please

Only splash screen even in Android

So, first I thought my brother's A51 was water damaged because it was wet a little bit and charging was being interrupted. I left the phone turned off for the night and wanted to look at it again the next morning. The problem is that the screen or something else stopped working.
The screen works fine in Download mode, Recovery mode, or at splash screen with phone's model name, the problem begins when it's booting to Android. It's still stuck at the splash screen. no boot animation, no lock screen visible, just a model name. It's not bricked, because I can still unlock the phone (didn't have a password) and I can hear the unlock sound or charging sound (it started working again).
I tried factory reset through recovery - didn't help, flashing fresh firmware from Frija - didn't help. The only thing that changed is now the splash screen brightness goes down a bit and I noticed that until I am touching the screen so the phone can't lock itself it doesn't turn off the splash screen, but when I press the lock button it turns off the screen and I can't turn it back on, but the phone still works because I can hear charging sounds and it shows up in Device manager.
I also opened it because I wanted to see if there's any water damage, but I didn't see any water marks or burnt components. I cleaned the charging board with alcohol and let it dry but that didn't help.
I'm worried that there's something wrong with the motherboard or the charging board because it has a screen connector.
I can also see that some people here have similar issues:
Unbrick A51 - Stuck on samsung logo

black screen after splash and unable to factory reset, possibly frp?
Apologies for formatting, typing up on my phone during my break at work. To be more specific, I have a samsung a51 that recently had a black screen of death with no known cause. The samsung splash screen as well as the recovery menus alll work...
forum.xda-developers.com
I should also add that I don't have access to settings so I can't unlock OEM and flash custom recovery / ROM. I also cannot downgrade to Android 10 (duh)
I have exactly the same behaviour here.
I ordered a "defect" A51 on Ebay which was not working. I opened it an saw a water damage at the USB-C charging board. Since there was a lot of oxydated parts I ordered a replacement for this board.
After cleaning an replacing the charging board I have the same issue as szerbi. I see the charging screen (while powered off), I can enter download mode and transfering stock firmware using Odin, I can enter recovery mode. While all these states the display works well and I cannot see any damages like a broken display.
I even got it working correctly after several Odin firmware update and recovery mode / factory reset attempts and I could install some apps and set up my google account. I was very happy. But after some hours again: no screen while Android is running.
Now, when Android is running I hear the charging and the screen shot (pressing volume-down + power buttons) sounds and the phone will be visible as a storage device while connecting to a PC.
Conclusion: The display is black while Android is running. Since it was shortly active I assume either a loose contact on one of the flex cable connetions or a water damage at the displays flex board. Unfortunately latter cannot be checked without dividing the display from the display frame. I assume this is an irreversible process.

That's indicates your mainboard is broken. claim your warranty for mainboard replacement or new phone replacement(in some region)
go to nearest service center and bring your receipt/warranty card. It's the ultra problem of vayu/bhima, deadboot.
Thanks for your quick answers, any chance I get my data back ?
If they Replace the main board then Storage is gone.
