Question Voice control for Google Assistant not working on Chinese ROM - Realme GT Neo 2

Hello there,
Is there a way to get the "Hey Google" command to work on stock launcher and Chinese ROM? I've tried some config tricks that I found but with no luck at all

Nope. I believe they use Breeno. Try changing your region now. It is possible now. I just change my chinese rom to Indian and got all google services working.

What about the widevine, did it change to L1 after you changed the Chinese rom to the Indian rom?

mine was at l3 at the beginning and it didn't change even after changing the region. I'm currently waiting for realme to contact me now for the solution.. it's been 3 days now and they are super slow at replying emails

Oh well, is your bootloader is locked?
I guess they gonna take up some time and might come with an app to install the widevine certificate.

Is it supposed to change from L3 to L1 when changing to Indian?

It depends on your need. But as for the updates, it will eventually comes for every region. You cannot wait chinese rom to be implemented with google services on the other hand. Unless you want to install it manually but I really don't suggest it. It breaks notifications as of my case and other couple things too.
As for the widevine, I am not sure. Someone said that every device have different ID (can check DRM Info) which bound to specific widevine level. so changing region does not effect the widevine. I am still waiting for realme's reply.

Global ROM? UK usage

Hi all.
I know the 8th November Xiaomi UK launch is rumoured to include the Mi Mix 3, but I'm not confident that it will. Besides, if it does it will probably be priced in line with other handsets oof similar spec in the UK.
I'm thinking of buying one from a Chinese source such as AliExpress or Gearbest, but I'm now questioning if I'll be able to load a global ROM on it or not?
This article states that phones pre installed with Chinese ROM cannot have Global installed: https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/09/...-miui-china-rom-no-longer-support-global-rom/
Does anyone know if this is the case? When I got my original MIX I was able to flash Global with no problems.
Thanks,
Dom
You can flash a global rom on a China device, but you can't relock bootloader
Ok thanks... So if you can't re-lock the bootloader, I guess apps like Google Pay won't work?

Sorry for the double post.
Do you have any detail about that? Or a source?
My original Mix 1 bootloader was unlocked, Global flashed, and then re-locked.
Has this changed recently?
Thanks

Thanks for your help. I believe the UK release is rumoured to be the Mi 8 Explorer. So I will probably order a CN Mix 3 and hope that the China ROM is fully compatible with the UK after GAPPS are installed.
I don't think UK apps such as google pay, and most mobile banking apps, will work if the bootloader is unlocked. But I may be wrong. Anyone know?

Banking apps (atleast mine) run fine on a bootloader unlocked rooted device. I didn't try Google pay
I also have an unlocked bootloader on my Mi Mix and have no issues with Banking apps (when using Magisk).

Mine should be here anyday, with mi mix I have no problems with any apps, Los 16 coming soon apparently for mi8, which will need minimum twerking to work on mix 3, don't forget there's also twrp to test. How I can unlock instantly

Also what site did you purchase the Mix 3 on.

I got mines today and no problem with selecting English, you can install play services easily with Google installer 3.0 apk.
Might need to set some apps as system apps to ensure notifications come through straight away.

This and maybe EU rom out soon, tomorrow global without unlock if you believe the rumors
You guys think there's going to be major hardware differences with the new Global 5g version coming out in 2019 (besides the 5g capability of course) ?OR the rest of the specs should be the same? I'm not sure on ordering one now or wait for the global one to be released. But I'm assuming that the 5g should be more expensive.

I have the mi mix 3 Chinese version 256gb.. Love the phone but I can't get Google Assistant to work. I read in another post that we have to root the phone but I think the Global version will have it all preinstalled and allow the Xiaoai button to control OK Google... This is honestly the only thing I'm waiting for assuming we're able to flash the Global rom on top of the Chinese one...

I've done quite a bit of research into this. It's not a simple process as for example Xiaomi.
It will involve resizing the system partition among other partitions.

No sorry, this was a tangent regarding the RMX2075 (UK) getting the RMX2076EU update which was posted on the UK site.
Probably they just named it wrong. Sorry, I don't have the RMX2017 (CN) (but isn't it 2071 lol).
Just as an interest, what's wrong with the CN version?

As per my first analysis, RM2071 (CN) did not bring the majority of the languages (in my case, I need PT), just CN, EN and other two or three asian languages. It does not have Google Play store although it is possible to install it separatedly.
Finally there are many CN apps that comes together and when using EN, some untranslated texts in CN are still appearing in many screens.

Disappointed with Chinese Rom
I also own a RMX2071 version.
To be honest I'm disappointed as my expectations with this phone were too high.
Here are my remarks:
Breeno is only in Chinese and you cannot download EU voices,
Global search is only retrieving Chinese news,
Impossible to fully replace Breeno with Google Assistant (shortcut will still launch Breeno instead of GA, GA will not produce notification sound when activated...)
Some software and some rare options are not translated in my language (I set the FR language and still Chinese texte)
Security check is done for all app you are downloading from Google store (which leads sometimes to Play Store crash)
Google Chrome is freezing from time to time
I need to switch mobile data off and on to get back internet (specially after leaving the phone locked for a while).
I need to switch mobile data off and on right after a call or I'll not be able to get Internet...
Regards

EU rom questions

ToneLa said:
It's not only the best phone I've ever used, I think it's clearly far & away the best in class for a phone today and I genuinely want it to raise bars for what's possible with the hardware. As a package, it's remarkable. Best in class overall & in many areas.
I just love it. Nothing is a disappointment. Getting on the xiaomi.eu ROM negated the ill effects of importing a deGoogled phone. It's reliable, charges in ludicrously quick time, is a fantastic camera, seems unofficially pretty splashproof. Feels good, looks good, sounds good, works with everything

based on official, but not official. They do updates over the air normally but not til TWRP is ready. They're a solid group, used them before when I had a Mi 9. From a readme:
> Xiaomi Europe was founded [...] to provide [...] an exlcusive community for English MIUI Android and Xiaomi products. Since 2010 our web site has officially worked with Xiaomi on a variety of projects for APP translations and bug fixing and is a major part of today's Xiaomi Global ROM experience thanks to the great team at xiaomi.eu and its community.

Get yourself on to the EU ROM. I know it's going to take a week to get unlocked but it's well worth while. The EU ROM makes this a superb phone and I've come from a Huawei P40 Pro plus that photographically may be better but there is not much in it. I just love this phone now. Got a couple of cases coming and a better screen cover protector.

Ok is there a way back to getting the phone "locked" again on stock rom if i want to return ?
Why do you want it locked again? The EU ROM shows no security issues, it passed every test.
On the Chinese ROM, I couldn't use my Sky Q as it said it wasn't secure and that was before flashing. Now I can use it. Is there a reason you need it locked?
You can flash the Chinese stock ROM if you do want. I have done to test but come back to the EU version. If you need a link to the stock let me know, I did put instructions on the Xiaomi forum but can copy it here.

I mean if i want to return it to default to be able to sell it. Also 2 questions, does the windows way work or not because i read there's issues in the bat file and only linux works. I dont have access to a linux machine currently. 2nd question, when twrp is ready, until then we will have to flash ourselves until twrp is ready to be able to do OTA?
We've found a fix for the windows method which involves swapping out the fastboot. It's all there in the thread for it, I promise...this is for overall love
And if you may sell it, unless you are going to sell to a Chinese person, I think they will appreciate not having to do the change from the Chinese version.
There are warnings about relocking and the possibility of bricking but you can always flash the stock Chinese version again like I did to test it and then back to EU ROM. Unlocking will bind your Mi account to you phones hardware but this can be swapped to another user if you sell.

What are the benefits of EU Rom? I have removed all bloat on China ROM and it's doing fine. Just having and issue of high power consumption of Google Play Services and mdnsd.
See attached screenshots. Plus battery lasts longer, no issues with notification and it reports it's fully secure. For me, it refused to run skyq as the app said it was not secure. Using the EU ROM, it's happy. Have a look at the attached.
How long does Xiaomi normally support their devices? How many "Major" android upgrades do the provide? Like from 10 to 11? And if we went through the EU Rom route will they provide updates for longer?

CPH2025CW - Flash Global?

I have a CPH2025 running CW though I purchased it from Amazon UK and can confirm it's Unlocked Network wise, is there no way of flashing just a Global CPH2025 to it so I'm able to get updates quicker?
Nope
There's a flashing tool used by Oppo, Realme and OnePlus phones called MSN Download Tool.
It's what they use internally and there are always leaked / cracked versions available for OnePlus, but not so much Oppo. IF you managed to find the right version you could in theory change your software version. You'd need the tool and .ofp file (which is the full firmware).
I have a couple of cracked versions of the tool and OFP files that I stumbled across when trying to convert my Chinese version to global, but not willing to try on my CPH2025 in case I brick it (plus I have the global version so nothing to gain by doing so). Sure Oppo would reflash under warranty if you could be bothered with the inconvenience of not having a phone for a week.

Unlikely, there are only a few leaked versions of the full firmware, I have found A14 and A29, as ColorOS 11 isn't even out yet is say there is zero chance of getting a leaked version that someone has cracked.... Just have to wait.

Update: Never mind, tried it, the *# code is actually for a realme device, can't find one specific to Find X2 or X2 Pro, and have no idea if there is a way to extract a list of those secret codes from the device itself...

The *# works on the Find X2 Pro. It's not Realme-specific. Google Pay still works for me and didn't notice any mobile data difference. No factory reset either
I've tried and it works. Changed the region a few times, tried Singapore, UK, then the multi-language E - all worked fine. It even disabled and enabled region specificNone of them have me a ColorOS 11 update though which is why I was doing it.
However, I changed to Thailand True and now this procedure doesn't work. Now stuck on Thailand ?. My fault for playing too much!

It is actually possible to change to global! I put a small tutorial up on Twitter to show you how to do it.

Thanks for the post Adam, you've made a lot of people very happy. This change in regional settings had enabled people to get ColorOS 11 early, replace carrier specific software for a more generic version, get features like the Theme Store and call recording working and even opened up the possibility of having dual SIM on a single SIM variant!
Cheers buddy! ?

Indonesia ROM vs EEA ROM

I have read that the indonesia version of the ROM for Poco F2 Pro is more stable than the EEA one.
I also read that the indonesia version has the call recorder.
Are there any other differences? Network management type?
Thanks.

Use the INDO V12.0.4.0 version which is super stable
I am now on INDO V12.2.2.0 and it has many bugs, GPS does not work, recent app, battery discharges fast ...
I will return to INDO V12.0.4.0 and disable the update so as not to update.

Will I lose anything by going from EEA to Indonesian ROM? Like bands or languages or anything?
I'm in a process of unlocking the bootloader and downgrading from Android 11 to android 10 and I'm wondering which ROM is the best. I think a call recorder is a nice feature to have. I had it in my Zenfone 6.

I'm using a very strict banking app and I'm afraid they wouldn't like each other. Many users of my bank's app complained about that, but their developers always know better. Sometimes it doesn't even work with stock ROMs on some devices stating that they are rooted.

The main reasons why I'm going back to Android Q are:
the full screen not working in A11 (status bar always visible),
phone not streaming audio to the car head (stopped working after upgrade to A11)
and annoying animation when minimizing an app and going to the home screen (can't be switched off)
Are these bugs fixed in the eu ROM?

Couldn't find the answer there, thanks anyway.
I guess I'll stick to the stock Android 10 ROM, so the question still stands: what is the difference between Indonesia and EEA ROMs except for the dialer and message apps?

good afternoon, i did try to unlock the bootloader of two devices I bought and unfortunately i was unable to. i watched a few videos regarding the unlocking, downloaded the unlocking app and the waiting time doubled after my first try.i must have done something wrong but i dont know what. the only thing I am wondering is if i have to leave the sim in the device while im waiting for the 7 day period for example? have any of you got any suggestions and would you guys mind helping me and guide me step by step on what to do. i dont understand much and this is my first try. the poco f2 pro is with two SIM cards and the global version 12.2.5.0(rjkeuxm) and the redmi k30 is again with two SIMs with 12.1.6.0(rgicnxm)
thank you in advance

One Mi account could only unlock one device within 30 days.
You must wait the time indicated.
