Steps to install TWRP:
First of all, you will be required to unlock your bootloader.
You will need to follow this guide for Nokia 2.1 (E2M) or this guide for Nokia 2V (EVW)
then as normal go back to the bootloader and run the following commands
This flashes twrp to recovery

fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
fastboot oem HALT
Than pull out cable, phone will shutdown.
After shutdown the phone,please press VOL+ and also connect to PC,than your phone will boot into TWRP.
Bugs:
Decryption of data isn't currently supported

Introduction
Team Win Recovery Project (TWRP), pronounced "twerp", is an open-source software custom recovery image for Android-based devices. It provides a touchscreen-enabled interface that allows users to install third-party firmware and back up the current system which are functions often unsupported by stock recovery images

Before you flash anything be sure you have unlocked your bootloader already, if not then unlock it first. here's the guide: Guide to unlock bootloader
Codename X6816 = Non-NFC Variants of Infinix HOT 12 Play

Rename boot.img to twrp.img
Go to fastboot mode in your device
Flash the twrp.img file by "fastboot flash boot twrp.img"
Download vbmeta image from below
Disable vbmeta boot verification by "fastboot flash --disable-verity --disable-verification vbmeta vbmeta.img"
After flashing twrp type "fastboot reboot recovery"
Now once you boot into recovery flash your stock boot.img into boot partition
Now select the twrp.img and flash it into recovery ramdisk, wipe dalvik cache and reboot to system.
After that, Press volume up + power to boot into recovery now you can flash anything you want.
Enjoy!
