Flash SM-G781U1 XAA on a Verizon SM-G781V - Samsung Galaxy S20 FE ROMs, Kernels, Recoveries, &

I am trying to take a brand new Verizon SM-G781V and load the SM-G781U1 XAA firmware on it. (I prefer the unlocked software that removes all the Verizon branded bloat) I have tried several versions of patched Odin. I keep getting the same error <ID:0/006> Re-Partition operation failed. What am I doing wrong?

I just realized this should be in the Q and A section so I apologize. My Odin has re-partition UNCHECKED by default.

on the phone in red letters I get SECURE CHECK FAIL: PIT

Can you also screenshot what is in options and pit, thanks

These are the default settings

How much storage do you have?

The phone is brand new out of the box, 128GB

Hmm do you have a pit file for it?
Did it come with the rom
Because it looks like you need a pit file or you need another rom

I used Frija to get the firmware and it did NOT come with a PIT file.....Is there something other than Frija that you suggest I use to download Samsung firmware ?

Extract Samsung PIT File from Samsung Firmware | DroidViews
Here're the steps to extract the Samsung PIT file from a Samsung firmware. The CSC binary contains the PIT for your Galaxy device.
www.droidviews.com
Here

That has all the steps you need.

I tried it and still got the error. Do I need to download my ORIGINAL firmware and use THAT pit? The pit I extracted was from the new firmware I want to load on the phone and it did not work.

Sorry, maybe I am being dumb but isn't the md5 file just used to verify size? You need to flash the .Tar not .Tar.md5?
Anyway. Try a different USB port, cable and even computer. I've had similar problems like this and changing the cable oddly worked.
I had the same problem. I solved it by extracting firmware with WinRar, delete the hidden.img file (contains carrier bloat and blaha, no worry about that...), repack with 7-Zip as tar file. Then voila, no problem!

My phone is bricked to this state, is it possible to recover?

Hello
My phone, Samsung Galaxy Note 2 had encountered some problems and I tried to flash it with N7100XXUFNI4.
However, it failed and tells me that PIT file is missing.
So when I added a PIT file, it says repartition operation failed.
And now this is what my phone currently looks like:

Can you still get to download mode?
When you flashed the PIT file, did you also flash the stock firmware along with it? Did you have the "repartition" option checked in Odin when you flashed it.
If not, try it.

I cannot get into download mode anymore, there is no words or icons available.
Yes, I put the PIT file and the stock firmware together in Odin when I flash.
I also did checked the repartition option.

It seems to me that you might have flashed the wrong firmware or the wrong PIT.
Does your device charge? Does it vibrate when you power it on?
Have you tried using the button combo to boot into download mode then press volume up to enter download mode then try flashing via Odin again? Regardless of what is being displayed, it might actually be booting to download mode, if so, you can probably still flash the device.
The display not displaying correctly might be due to the kernel not being correct for your device. The kernel contains the drivers to make the display work correctly.

Authorization for PIT file.
When flashing only one BL,AP or CP the partition allocation/information table has to be read from device.
If flashed only one file it's not recomendet to tick Re-partition (Odin).
When setting the PIT (Inside CSC_OMC) the files / blocks are flashed to desired position.
To bring things back extract the pit file from the CSC_OMC and flash all binaries in BL/AP/CP/CSC_OMC with selected pit file from CSC_OMC binary (If all binaries are flashed, the pit is not needed for specification) !
The DID on download screen makes me believe it is related to bootloader lock
[Android][UNSAMLOCK] Bootloader Unlock for Samsung US/Canada Devices
KG Status is PRENORMAL. You won't be able to flash custom binaries while in this state. Reflash stock firmware and connect to the Internet, then verify the OEM Unlocking toggle in Developer Options is still visible - it should be grayed out, "Bootloader is already unlocked".
Once it's visible, reboot to download mode. KG STATUS should be COMPLETED, you can now flash custom images.
why the heck did we reply to a two years old thread

Edited boot screen file. (param.bin)

Does anyone have an edited version of the boot screen without the firmware root warnings that they could share?
Thank you,
Don't forget to add to archive as ".tar" before flashing in ODIN.

I believe so.
This is a boot splash screen to replace the annoying warning screen. I thought it highly appropriate for these substandard phones and is sufficiently different from the previous and after screens to see that boot is progressing.
The param.tar file is built from Stock OneUI v3.1 files. Flash in Odin

Weirdly your firmware doesn't have the param.bin file - so this will not work for that ROM.

Guess you are flashing it in the BL partition. Then wipe caches and dalvik through recovery and reboot. It worked fine with A10 as base.
sorry I did not understand, I am using google translator.
I have to download the file "param.bin" and then add the ".tar" to it and flash in odin

not sure what you have done to that phone, are you sure usb jack and cable is healthy? lost connection sounds like hardware issue.
However, the only other flash tool is heimdall, but it needs files extracted and converted.
https://github.com/amo13/Heimdall/releases
if you're 100% sure the usb-connection is healthy, try to re-partition with pit file extracted from CSC.

Oh Jelly Bean Android 4.1.2 wow. you can try older version of Odin3. But most likely EMMC is weared-out.
