With MIUI 12.0.3, the blur effect in the Control Center was removed in the Redmi Note 8, and a gray background replaced blur.
I created a magisk module to bring back blur effect.
This module is for MIUI 12.0.0.6 EEA version
Note: The Bootloader must be unlocked and rooted in order to perform the operations.
INSTALL STEPS:
1. Open the Magisk Manager application
2. Go to the "Modules" section
3. Select the "Load from internal storage" option
4. Find and select the file blur-ginkgo-magisk-v12.0.0.6-EEA.
5. Restart the phone.
SCREENSHOOTS:
Check attachment!
IMPORTANT!
* This module is for Redmi Note 8. Do not apply to other devices.
* If phone won't boot after restart, just flash the Magisk Uninstaller from TWRP.
* Your device must be rooted.
* The module cannot be installed on devices without root!

All the credits go to user gaguga and the people from the 4PDA. The contents of this guide are not my work - I merely translated it.
Requirements:
1. For this method to work you first need to unlock the bootloader or at least obtain the unlock code. That is explained in threads Unlock bootloader HONOR 9 and [Guide] How to get Bootloader unlock Code easily through Chinese site.
2. Owners of non-Chinese models have to disable FRP. Read about what that is and how to disable it here.
3. Enable the USB debugging mode in the Developer options.
MOD EDIT: Updated HWOTA found here thanks to @gaguga
Steps:
1. Download the file HWOTA.zip and unpack it to the root of your system. For instructions in English instead of Russian replace the hwota.sh file with this one.
2. Make a backup of all the important files since all the data will be erased during the process (consider this as a warning!).
3. Check if the USB debugging is enabled and the FRP disabled.
4. Download the three zip-archives from here if you wish to flash the EU version of ROM. Otherwise download the files of the desired region using Firmware Finder.
5. Move the downloaded files to folder "HWOTA\Update" and rename them in this way:
- update_data_full_public .zip to update_data_public .zip
- update_full _... .zip to update_all_hw .zip
- update.zip remains as is
6. Launch the file named update.bat which is located in the folder HWOTA and follow the instructions.
7. As a mode of update first choose the Rebrand option, then go to the Recovery and wipe all the data (including internal storage). If you only want to update the firmware to the newest version you can skip this step and go directly to the next one.
8. Run the batch file again and select Change the firmware option this time.
9. If you experience bootloops after flashing go to the Recovery and perform a factory reset (including wiping internal storage) then flash the firmware again.
Reserved.

I have updated my L09 phone through DNS from FF
So far everything is working fine
I've seen that my battery is much improved
Nice guide. I'm just wondering, if I have the STF-AL10 model (6gb ram/64GB), could I flash to the STF-L09 firmware? From what I've seen, the European firmware is 4gb ram, so the hardware is slightly different to my Chinese 6gb variant.

You can, that's the whole point of rebranding.
One more question, does it cover every variant of honor 9?! Or there's a variant which can't be rebranded

As i am only a junior member, i can't post in the rom section .
I have testing rom for a long time but never tried something on my own so didn't post anything. I made this gsi combo on my own and found it to be the more perfect and more stable than the two pie related ROMs posted in the ROM section before. Now I desperately want to share and help with this but can't.
Sorry brother.

[Pie and Q fixed] Change default storage without formatting in any android version

Change Default Storage WITHOUT FORMATTING AS INTERNAL
The method given here will work for every device with any android version. However there are some devices which has option in storage settings to change default storage but that's only exists in old low end phones.
There are 2 methods
1. Universal-Magisk needed
2. Alternative-(recommended for non pie and Q user) Magisk not needed (Not for Pie and Q)
Code:
[B]/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included here.
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
*/[/B]
1. UniversalRequirements
1. Micro SDcard.
2. EdXposed for pie and Q user.
Official Xposed for non pie and q user
3. XInternalSD app (download from xposed app)
4. Magisk.
5. ExSDcard write access enabler Magisk module. (download it from magisk app)
Method
This works for all android versions but its mainly targeted to android pie and Q because xposed pie and Q are not completely stable right now.
1. Flash ExSDcard write access enabler. (download it from magisk app)
2. Download and install XInternalSD app.
3. Open the app and tick "enable for all apps" and "include system app"
4. Click on Path to Internal storage and write /mnt/media_rw/<your ext.sdcard's no.>
5. Open xposed app, go to modules section tick XInternalSD app and reboot.
Done!!✓
2. Alternative
Requirements NON PIE and Q
1. Micro SDcard.
2. Official Xposed by rovo89
3. XInternalSD app (download from xposed app
Method. [8.1 and below]Highly recommended for non pie and Q user
Note:- Don't use this method for pie and Q. Instead use the method give above. This is not for pie and Q
1. Download and install XInternalSD app.
2. Open the app and tick "enable for all apps" and "include system app"
3. Click on Path to Internal storage and write (may be already written) /storage/<your ext.sdcard's no.>

[MOD] [TESTING] Simple A-B MultiBoot

Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h>
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* We are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications and if
* you point the finger at us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you. Hard & a lot.
*
*/
What is this?
this is a simple zip for A/B devices only that will separate the ROM in your current slot so that it won't interfere with the ROM in the opposite slot, which we'll call the primary ROM.
How does it work?
it modifies the fstab of the ROM in your current slot to have separate data and shared internal storage, data will be in /data/media/multiboot in the actual data partition.
What's the catch?
this of course comes with a few unsolvable issues such as:
1- SElinux must be permissive on the ROM you're multibooting (secondary ROM)
2- NO ENCRYPTION, do not use this on encrypted data, it will break everything.
3- don't use multiple users on the secondary ROM, it's unlikely to work (not tested)
4- Magisk modules exhibit weird behavior, such as modules from the primary ROM showing in the secondary, it is strongly recommended to use core only mode if you're using Magisk (only on the secondary ROM)
5- and most importantly, screen lock is likely to stop working on the primary ROM every time you switch and switch back, once you're back to the primary ROM, your PIN/pattern might not be recognized, same thing that happens some times when you restore the data partition, it's recommended to remove your screen lock before switching to the secondary ROM, or delete /data/system/locksettings.db once you're back.
6- and lastly, this is unlikely to work on stock/ported ROMs, not tested though, feel free to try.
and that's all OK, as this is intended for testing purposes only, maybe you want to test a new ROM or a GSI but don't want to commit to it yet, this doesn't mean you don't need to backup your data, this has only been confirmed working on ONE device, no guarantees it will work for you.
USAGE:
flash the secondary ROM normally (flash, switch slot, reboot recovery, gapps, magisk etc...)
flash this zip
flash Kernel Sepolicy Patcher and switch to permissive.
