Question this strange persistent notification, what does it mean and how to get it to disappear? - ASUS ROG Phone 5 / 5s

after unlocking the boot loader and rooting, i got this notification that won't go away.
first what does it mean?
second, how make it disappear?
I understand I won't be receiving FOTAs, so be it.
thanks
P.S. that is not my personal phone. I'm still working on bootloader unlock

How can you fixed it?

If you disable HardwareStub, also be aware that any of the peripherals (cooler, controller, etc) may not get firmware updates.
The notification sounded like you had a mix of firmware, such as installing a WW update while still using a CN baseband.

Back up your data, then flash a full raw firmware. After that is done, make sure you are only installing updates from the same series (ie. WW or CN)

I did a full flash with raw and it was still showing, so I also used the Notifications Off app. Mind that I bought the tencent version flashed to global

I'm not sure what causes the notification, since I also have a Tencent device on the WW firmware. I do know that one of the newer firmwares does prompt to update the Aerocooler firmware, though. If you get one, make sure to at least temporarily enable the notification for the update.

So I got intrigued about what my build.prop values are so I opened it, and noticed that some properties about build and model are still set to their chinese values.
What's your build.prop values? Do I need to change these values to remove the notification without disabling HardwareStubServices?

Someone got lazy and never finished the conversion. Every CN has to be changed to WW. Once it's done once, it will automatically retain it through future updates.

Oh sorry, I forgot to mention that is the /vendor/build.prop file. /system/build.prop file is OK.
Should I change the values on /vendor/?

A lot of those are backups. If you change any, only the main build.prop and not any of the build_xx ones

Nope, that's because you have the US version of the Z5 dual and it has been specifically disabled. If you want to get the fingerprint sensor working you need to flash international firmware, or there are some threads that tell you what files you need to replace. Search and you should find what you're looking for.

Then you should be fine. It might not be working occasionally because there might be a bug in the firmware you're using. My only suggestion would be to make sure you're on the latest version of the firmware for your region, or try flashing firmware from another region. I'm using Customized UK firmware and I have no issues with the fingerprint sensor. Short of that the only other option would be a hardware failure, but it sounds more like a software bug.

It looks like you're a couple firmware versions behind; the latest firmware released for your phone is 32.2.A.5.11. Since you mentioned that your phone won't automatically update itself through the software update it sounds like you may have modified your phone in such a way (i.e., unlocking the bootloader, or modifying system files) that you might have to manually flash the firmware to your phone. There is a program called Flashtool that you can use to download and flash firmware to your phone. It's a great tool and something that you can learn to use after a few minutes of reading in the support thread.
If you've made any modifications to your phone, it would be helpful to know what those are understand why your phone won't update on its own. But most likely you'll have to use Flashtool to update your phone.
EDIT: In the future if you want to see what the latest version of firmware is for your phone you can use the XperiCheck website.

Did you write all your data when you flashed the new firmware with Flashtool? Maybe try flashing again, but make sure you wipe everything so you're starting with a clean phone. Set up the phone and make sure everything works, then flash a custom kernel.

Mha-l29c567b167 decrypted boot image unlock, twrp, root!

Anyone have a link for an decrpted boot image for the new ota update.? also can somebody merge all the different ways and do and don'ts for this build to be able to unlock (have the code) and flash TWRP and root this device. so many different solutions confusing on the best method to use. Use this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-9/how-to/guide-how-to-root-mate-9-decrypt-data-t3569986
no need to decrypt image as superuser (superroot) does it for you.
As for unlocking bootloader, there's only one way. Just follow the TWRP thread for that

Then I don't know.
Try reinstalling them?
Or do you mean notifications on lockscreen? Because they won't show.
Huawei locked it down good. (at least for me, can't even get Spotify to show current song)
Floatify works great for lockscreen notifications though.
Edit: Actually, more people seem to have notification bugs with Messenger and WhatsApp. Maybe it's just a Huawei thing?
Or did they work before rooting?
Could you also check that they're not being closed automatically by the super aggressive battery saver thingie?
Settings - Battery: check that Power Saving is not turned on.
Next click on the cogwheel in the battery screen and make sure "Close excessively power-intensive apps" is not turned on.
And check in Settings - Apps - [App you want to check] - Battery that "Close after screen locked" is not turned on.

I would lose connection to my car after a few minutes but other devices worked fine. With the October update I connected to my car no problem and it held for well over an hour a reconnected just fine after getting out and back in. So I would say yes, the patched helped my Bluetooth issues.
how do you apply the normal image through the other or through twrp or through what? Sorry

You have to unlock critical partitions then reflash the fastboot files. The critical partitions house the touchscreen firmware.

disregard found command. thanks for the reply.

Download KB2005_11.C16 ?

Hi,
I currently have the version KB2005_11_C.11 on my 8T.
Via OTA I am offered the new version KB2005_11.C16_1160_202204222257. But this breaks again and again at 22% with Installationproblems.
The OxygenUpdater also brings me nothing because it constantly offers me the already existing version KB2005_11_C.11.
Where can I download the latest (full) version KB2005_11.C16?
Or other.....kann the evtl. someone times upload ?
Thanks

That's why your update won't work. C16 is an incremental update and expects the stock boot image to be in place.
Next question. Do you have a directory named something like /data/magisk_backup_c64948c228b8c5e1aee9c14fbed837abb5aa50de
The numbers will be different as mine are for C.16

Good. Then you can restore the stock boot image using Magisk>Uninstall Magisk>Restore images before you do the update. Then the update should work.
And to keep root, use this process by @rage302 https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/guide-wip-root-and-keeping-root-options.4387977/post-86830285
You can get it here but it is incremental update https://android.googleapis.com/packages/ota-api/package/2332cb8c0db7e7db378805a0b811772b10a00559.zip

Oha, that doesn't sound easy.
Especially since I can't find anything in Magisk to unroot or reset.
I can of course reset the phone completely, but I don't really want to do that.
