My play store keep changing from do not update apps to auto update on wifi.
I have several app that i keep on old version.
How can i block playstore from changing this setting automatically

Playstore is a bloody pain.
Set to auto update to wifi only and disable wifi.
Use ApkExport to copy your apps so you have them.
exactly a real pain... always switching the setting on after set up all stuff.

Disable Playstore or Google Play Services (Playstore is dependent on it).
Both constantly running in the background... needed or not.
You will need Google Play Services though for Gmail and other apps occasionally during the day.
Use a firewall to block it.
Use a package disabler.
I use both...

I figure out that the play store get default settings after each restart. So something must reset it configuration ... I need to find whom

I'm not sure what's causing that. I can package disable Playstore, firewall block it and it's settings are the same after it's enabled again.
If it's data on the phone is getting cleared on reboot that could do it... 3rd party cleaner or power management.
I don't use Playstore much and all my apps/updates are backed up for reload.
In part because you can't get older versions on Playstore (if the app doesn't disappear entirely) and because Playstore downloads are a slow, tedious pain that use up too much time when reloading.
Don't want Google's junk in my face...

If it do not function for anything, at least not consume RAM.

Disappointed in Sony for including com.facebook.appmanager and com.facebook.system as uninstallable components. My Z5 came with the Facebook app already installed (Customized DE firmware). I never even ran the app (I don't do facebook) - uninstalled it the second I spotted it but these two processes remain and can only be disabled, not uninstalled.
Feck off Facebook!
I deleted webview once on my old Z1, system became unresponsive.

I keep a real clean phone. I don't use FB either and have it disabled. But I discovered this file or application and as fast as I would shut down and delete cache and data it would reload itself. This action alone made me suspicious of it and I wanted it off my phone or at the very least disabled. On another forum it was recommended to install "Package Disabler Pro" at a cost of $.99 and I tried it. In the notes and warnings you have to use this carefully least you make the phone unusable but I "disable" these two persistant "Facebook" files and they have not come back. My phone works fine too. Then I went after the damn Sprint/Samsung installed voicemail program that keeps wanting you to upgrade and then it had a persistant flag that kept coming up saying "We had forced upgrades too but this one is necessary". I said no to that too and with this program finally have turned it OFF.

As suggested, i would not disable Android Webview.
Always do a BACKUP of your personal files before disabling system apps : if you are not rooted and disable the wrong package, you'll get in bootloop and will have to reset the phone.

Sounds like it's not updating through playstore. Maybe it's an automated app routine that calls an update request to its update server. If you have a firewall installed you can block internet access for this app for example.
I would avoid using such app, find its alternatives

It seems that the app doesn't update itself through Google Play. Check whether there is any setting option about auto-updating in the app. If not, you may try to disable its permission about internet access.

but after a firmware update (OTA) one of these gets updated automatically and Playstore resets, and while these 2 are updated, I dont see updates for the other common apps.
is there a way to permanently hide these 2 apps from the playstore ?

If you have root, you can use Magisk modules to detach apps from playstore.

Apparently not.
However it appears to have little gems like the old free versions of WPS Office.
Yes a fully self contained office app that can created and edit MS docs... free.
I use the 10.0.5 version from 2017 on my N10+'s Pie and 10. I simply firewall block it to keep it from updating or doing other nasty things.
To save a docx file I have to do it twice, otherwise it runs well. I use it a lot.
I'm slowly exploring the site. It's a valuable app database I had forgotten about. Relatively secure and well rated. I'm pretty cautious about installing any app and then only if needed. So far nothing's caught my eye. One of the reasons this load has survived so long and runs so well.
Therefore, the only way to prevent updates for pre-installed system apps is to remove the official version. You can only do that if you're rooted (but if you are, it's just a matter of deleting the APK file from /system/app/ or /system/priv-app/)

If you upgrade the firmware the system apps will likely need to be updated.
Rule #1, if an OS is fast, stable and fulfilling its mission, let it be.
Any Android version from Pie and up are reasonably secure unless you do something stupid.
I do turn off from Playstore app - settings - network preference - auto update app - set to don't auto update app and it never gets updated automatically.

Whenever I install something on my s22, it will install it on my galaxy tablet.
How can I prevent this.
In Playstore settings change to update by wifi only and disable wifi. I normally keep Playwhore package blocked and firewall blocked unless needed. Once a Playstore paid for app is activated I firewall block it as well if it doesn't need internet access. I avoid Playstore as much as possible and create installable backups for all the apps from Playstore so I never need to use Playstore again when reloading except for paid apps. It streamlines reloads and they go much faster.
I also use more Playstore alternatives now but always scan them first with Virustotal. A Playstore app may be clean when installed only to download it's payload latter as an "update". Another reason I don't allow updates or an internet connect if not needed. Playstore updates can and do ruin once working apps. Tired of that bs.

I've always had a Samsung mobile and Samsung tablet and the mobile app never auto-installed on the tablet till now.
I don't want to turn off auto-update because thats not a real fix.
Need to find out why its auto-installing.

You can manually install updates from Playstore which is a wiser way to do it. One of the reasons I can run Pie securely is I use vetted apps, some are 6 yo and I firewall block them. Updates bring trouble far too often. Once a system is running fast, stable and fulfilling its mission updates serve no purpose most of the time. Auto updates bring rude surprises and make troubleshooting much harder in tracking down the offender.
In 2.5 years (that's how old this current load is) I've had no malware but spent a lot of time undoing damage updates have caused including a firmware "upgrade" for my Buds+ that trashed the sound. That pair now needs to be reflashed and it's a pain to do. meh.
If you try unmark one or more of your devices before instalation on the app, did it help?

Same, annoying feature, as on iPhone. On the other device go to settings/network preferences and disable auto update.
Simply manually periodically check for updates on tablet and it will check and update any apps installed if necessary

Boost carrier Moto g Stylus 5G 2022 XT2215-4 with Android 12. Google Play Services App is DISABLED. I cannot completely disable the Google Play Services Availability alert option in the Phone App (SHOW NOTIFICATIONS locked). Other apps allow the user to disable the Google Play Services Availability alert. Is there a fix for the Phone App?

You can temporarily disable Google play Services. I normally do unless it's needed like for Gmail. Playstore, Backup Transport are also a dependencies of it. Pretty much a menace... even on Android 9
Change the default phone app and disable Google Dialer.

Thanks for your input. I disabled Google Play Services. Even removed it using ADB. Unfortunately, I cannot turn off the alert in the PHONE APP that's looking for Google Play Services (see attached screen shots). The radio button to disable the alert is greyed out.

Phone app is fully functional. The issue is the alert message prompting the activation of Google Play Services. I can turn off this prompt with other apps, but not the phone app.

Yes. Since the notification cannot be disabled, it can become annoying after a while.
Google Dialer is currently your phone app and is set as default.
Install a 3rd party dialer app of your choice and set it as default. Now you'll be able to disable Google Dialer (or Phone) app from its app info page.

Excellent! Will install the other option. I also have the 6 GB RAM version of this phone from Metro. Per app inspection, the other phone app is identical in revision number, but it doesn't have the Google Play Services Availability radio option.
If time permits, I may remove Phone App via ADB, then download the next Phone App apk. I don't know if Google Play Services Availability is hard coded into Boost's Android 12 build. Thank you very much for your input.

On Samsung's they use their own phone/messaging apps and Google play Services isn't mandatorily intergrated into them so they will run fine without it. You're going to have to play with it.
Completely removing Google play Services could cause headaches. It maybe possible to block the popup via a adb edit but no idea how or if possible on a non-rooted phone.
All Gookill apps are a pain and Google play Services is integrated into them to a greater or lesser extent. 3rd party phone app... maybe.

I suggest that you install the alternative app first, set it as default and test everything is working fine (although there is no reason why it wouldn't) before attempting to remove the stock dialer.

A whole lot of apps are dependent on Google Play Services. On one of my devices, I disabled it and soon after I got some 12 to 15 notifications from different apps asking me to enable it. The notifications were so frequent and annoying that I just re-enabled it for peace of mind. 🫣

Maps (not just Google Maps), SMS app, mail apps, taxi apps.... aren't trashware.

Will test drive the alternate phone app. I also saw a bunch of alerts, but I was able to kill them by going into each app and disable the Google Play Services alert radio button. The GPS's main function is probably to update the app. All the apps are fully functional without GPS running in the background.
Google's is in the business of data mining. That's why I want tight control of all Google apps whenever possible.

Updating is handled by Google Play Store.
Google Play Services offers a whole range of services that apps use, such as location, push notifications, etc.
If you are able to find apps that offer full functionality without depending on GPS, then you'll be fine disabling it.

Yeah, they are... sorry.
Gmaps runs fine without it. Less some of the junk features.
Driving a taxi sucks... people are trouble.

I use HERE drive. Download the map into your phone and turn ON location. Hopefully, I only need to use the SMS and Clock app. But I agree, a lot of useful stuffs are in the Google ecosystem. Chrome is significantly faster than Firefox per my setup. Edge was fast until it got bogged down with AI search. This is how they push you to upgrade the processor.
