General Medeke/Navifly 7862 - FYT Android Head Units

Hi,
Recently received above unit for my 2006 RS4. everything is great (much better then the M400 I had before) apart from the radio. It seemed to work for the first 2 days, then worked intermittently and now not at all.
I have tried everything, including a firmware update from the seller (turned out to only update the bluetooth - everything else stayed on the same version numbers).
I can't get into the recovery (just get a fallen over android with "no command") so can't clear the cache's (on the off chance it is related to this).
My gut is that it is hardware related! Any thoughts? BTW, everything else works fine. The unit was getting very hot so I installed a fan and removed the amp chip (on the off chance this was causing my issue) but it did not help - btw, only removed this over the last few days as a last ditch attempt.
Thanks,
W.

There apparently are three types of radio module for these units. Navifly for my model advertised the higher quality NXP6686 tuner module but I did not end up receiving a unit with that module. But the module in my unit, the TDA7708 is almost as good as picking up and holding a signal. https://www.st.com/en/automotive-infotainment-and-telematics/tda7708.html
I base this on a simple test of manually tuning to an FM station approximately 100km from me. On my original unit, the signal was constant with a little static. With the new unit, the signal is of the same quality but occasionally falls of a cliff and there is silence for a second or so and then the signal resumes.
Attached are the specs of my unit. What are your specs?

I just ordered the Mekede 7862 6/128 Qled. Navifly and Mekede is same company so I expect the units to be identical.
I want to use the head units mobile data connection, so I need a new sim card...
Cheapest option would be to get an extra sim card sharing data with the sim in my phone. This extra sim would be data only but I figure I would BT from my phone for voice calls anyway.
So would there be any problems with a sim card that is data only?

Hello Allan, my name is Rob from The Netherlands and quite new on this forum.
I just read that you ordered a Mekede 7862 6/128 Qled. My plans are also to buy the same unit for my Peugeot 508, either from TPXINXIN, TomoStrong or Navifly.
Apart from difference in price and QLED (Navifly) or IPS screen, they all same to have the same specs.
I also read somewhere about MTCD and FYT, the latter being better in bluetooth connection.
Do you know anything about this?
Will you post your experience on XDA after you’ve installed the Mekede?
Thanks and good luck,
Regards,
Rob

Gracias y buena suerte,

Hope this will be the main thread of Navifly/Mekede 7862 . Is possible to have in the first post all links to update fw and other tricks as Teyes CC3 thread ?

My new Navifly 7862 FYT unit was installed in my car yesterday. My mcu FYT is same as yours (except date 19.11.2020) .
Great sound (linked in optical to my DSP) , great QLED Panel and great superfaster GPS connection. I'm very very satisfied about this radio except 2 things:
- the launcher is very bad (similar to Android 9 launcher of MTCE units). I can't understand why the launcher after boot show ever sound settings panel (i need ever to tap "home" icon). Is possible to change this launcher?
- I can't find how to silence tap sound
thanks for help

In the settings (it might be in the factory settings. Use pin 3368 for the factory settings access) there is an option to launch Navi software but you can actually choose any app to launch on start up. Find that setting and change whatever is launching to something else and test the result. Then report back.
It is possible to change the launcher in the factory settings (again, I think it is located in factory settings). There are 5 or 6 options of default launcher. I choose not to use any of them and simply choose the Microsoft Launcher. But there are other car specific launchers that you can download. You can use any launcher that you like using on your phone, too.
Silence for tapping screen is in the settings somewhere. I might have gone into the Pure Android settings to turn it off. I really can't remember any more.
In Microsoft Launcher, there is a link to open the pure Android settings. There are other more complex ways to get there, though.
Also make sure you switch on the setting that allows the radio to go into sleep mode or you might find yourself with a flat battery one day.

thanks for tricks Lud but i dont' know if the option to change launcher is named "Dianshang" as in the screenshot here

@ludditefornow I read something in the 4PDA russian forum about firmware update, do you know the exact procedure ?

Hola,
Gracias,
W.

That looks like it. Click on it and you will get other options. I did find a way to choose the launcher through Android settings. Can't remember exactly. Probably through choosing default launcher or similar.
As for update of firmware, I am not sure but it would probably be by loading the .bin onto a USB drive and having it plugged in to the correct USB port before cold boot of the head unit.
Personally, I have no intention of updating. My unit works and I don't want to have to learn workarounds for new potential bugs.
I'd be interested to know if you do update successfully, though.

when I put the gear in reverse, the screen goes black and the music cuts out.

Can you disable it in the Factory Settings? I recall some settings / options regarding the rear camera. Factory pin is 3368

On most FYT models you have to cut/disconnect one of the wires. It should be in the installation instructions.

I don't have a uis7862 unit, but all my previous sofia, px5 and sc9853i FYT units needed this. It is/was very clear in the A4 with installation instructions.
The cable connections on a NaviFly/Medeke are different from the cable beam of a Joying. But as it is a FYT unit I expect exactly the same approach.
Did you already ask the reseller?

bluetooth headset problems

having trouble between my XDA II and my Just Wireless headset. I can create a bond, but can't get the headset to work. The headset worked yesterday, and I can make it work w/a different phone. What's going on?
probably a dumb question, but... what did you changed on your XDAII since yesterday when it was working?
bluetooth trouble
Rien, at least nothing I know of. All indications are that it's working, but it simply won't switch to the headset. Je ne sais pas quoi faire.
bluetooth headset "enabled" on the today plug-in screen?
Hello,
I got kind of same prob. with Motorola HS810 (see my post of yesterday.
I can call and speak with it but cannot get incoming calls. I hear a beep and that'all.
I'm quite sure something wrong with the french software in the QTEK 2020 but neophite so...

for whatever reason, a soft reset fixed it.
Sorry but soft reset didn't help.

upgrading S710, sync handsfree troubles

Hi all,
i've just bought a S710 because it is mentioned as compatible with my car hands free original module (audi UHV) but when i tried to syncronize: bad surprise, it doesn't sync with! Checeking SW version instead of the required version I found WM6 5.2.1235 (build 17740.0.2.0), ROM 1.15.408.2 (i'm italian)
Now the question is can I upgrade the device to 5.2.1236 as required?
Anyone of you can help with other suggestions to sync?
Many thanks in advance
I use this software to have my phone being compatible with almost any Bluetooth handsfree Jetware Handsfree Extension
It's not free but the troubles with synching are gone and it just simply works well. You have a trial for 30 days to test it if you want.
In bocca al lupo, sono stato mesi con il cell che non si collegava bene alla mia macchina!!!
Ka.
Nokia CK7W
Thank you for this - it looks like I can now end calls properly from my Nokia CK7W, and hopefully there will be less echo.....
Thanks kast, but no way with jetware also!
I didn't understand why but it doesn't send contacts manually or not, this is frustrating.
It seems to be a BT limit, the phone doesn't start with syncing and reports a 'connection not possible' fault, on other hand i can see signal strenght, caller ID and operator name, other than BT basic headset functionality so the connection is for sure established.

Voice Dialer / Voice Control application for HTC Leo

Hello everybody,
I've been trying to find an voice dialing/control application that works with HTC Leo (including initiation of calls via bluetooth headset) but with no luck. The forums I searched mention Cyberon but, although it seems to be working fine, it is not able to initiate calls via bluetooth headset.
Could you help by recommending an application that works with HTC Leo?
Thanks!
Im used Cyberon Voice Dialer extracted from HTC Qilin firmware.
Work perfect!
Am used Touch Diamond 2 with LEO Software!
Sorry for my english... am from Russia!

Yes! I assign hardware button (on my diamond 2 green button) with this software. If press green button long time - start cyberon software.
When connected bluetooth handfree press once button on bluetooth handfree and software starting. I have no problem! Perfect!
For you, maybe need assign hardware button first for this software.
Second, need 1 record for voice dialing.
Im used sonyericsson bluetooth HBH-PV705

Some versions don't work with headset but this worked for me (Bluetooth button on my hands free fires up Cyberon for voice dial) but I don't have any hardware buttons on the phone assigned to it.

could you hear confirmed voice command on bluetooth headset ?
is bluetooth headset microphone working well ? cyberion "hear" bletooth headset ?
Yes works ok on HD2. I press my green button on my car kit; it beeps; I say 'home' the *car kit* repeats 'home' and it dials. I did have issues when I first installed it, as the kit did not repeat the word, the phone did. I did a soft reset and now its the kit that correctly repeats the word.
Only issue I have is that I can't assign a hardware button on the phone itself, but for me this isn't a problem as I tend to only use the car kit to initiate calls. My car kit is a supertooth.
Is there any application which allows voice commands to write texts?
UK User
does anyone know if cyberon works on UK based handsets, did look at google voice but was told that didn't work over here. Anyone any ideas??
Hi all
I actually got CVSD working reliably on my HTC HD2 - including call initiation AND voice tag recognition via my Jabra BT2020 headset - but then whilst trying to remove a previously trialled cab of MS Voice Command from my SD card it ran and reinstalled (instead of just selecting as I intended, so that I could delete it) and now I'm almost back to square one.
CVSD still initiates correctly via the BT headset, but the 'beep' now comes out of the phone and CVSD only responds to the phone mic for the voice tag. Obviously, this is about as useful in the car as a chocolate cylinder block!
I have found and followed many registry hack instructions, including pointing HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\AudioGateway at btagext.dll. However, I found that btagext.dll did not exist on my HD2, so I copied one from an earlier version of WinMo (6.0 I think it was) - it obviously works to some extent (as it correctly initiates CVSD via Bluetooth), but I think the 'live' time for the BT mic times out before CVSD is ready to emit its 'beep' and listen for the voice tag.
Does anyone know of a way in which I could test this theory? Or better still, could someone post a copy of a btagext.dll file (or whatever its equivalent is now called) from a more up-to-date version to WinMo (preferably 6.5, of course)?
I think I may be close to getting this to work...
Regards
The Doctor
you can try microsoft voice command, it is pretty decent and you can initiate calls via the bluetooth headset button (i do this)

There are several patches on the Cyberion support page:
http://www.cyberon.com.tw/Technical3.php
I had problems with my HD2 and Freelander 2 bluethoot before applying the patch. Now it works perfect (long press on the car green button). Beeps trough the radio speakers, gets the command off the car microphone and confirms it.

During a phone call, the only way to reactivate the microphone is to press the screen and selecting the Sensation speaker then pressed again the button to answer a call from BT headset.
Everything works fine until the next SMS.
