and what abot Ainur Narsil? volume buttons are not working after install this module. any help or idea regarding this?

Atlast I suceeded to install Enegized Protection module on my phone and ads are completely blocked. Ainur Narsil didn't work; couldn't control volime level by volume button. So I go for viper4android fx and it works perfectly in compatibility mode. Thats the beauty of a rooted android phone. The most annoying things of this phone were lots of ads and lack of audio boost up, which are now solved. I use my own root file (as I'm not from India) and the idea is taken from you, so all credts to you. Thanks again. Take care.

You can adblock without rooting thanks to some using 3rd parties DSN service providing (DNS-over-TLS), I use adguard (russian based) by adding "dns.adguard.com" as a private DNS in "settings > connections > more connection settings > Private DNS". there are other services. NexdDNS is another service that I come accross.

This is noob question but when it comes to 2nd step . Should i get AP from here ? ( https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-m21/firmware/#SM-M215F ) (i saw some other tutorials where people took AP file and patched it with magisk or something)

In short, yes.
AP contains most of the partitions of your device, the boot partition which is patched to root with magisk is also inside AP, so in those guides they're patching the boot file and then flashing it to the ap block.
While flashing stock you are flashing all the partitions that are in ap block and when you are rooting(using magisk) you are only flashing the boot image in the ap block.
In this case (for flashing stock rom) you need to flash the AP file along with BL, CP and CSC files you get after downloading the stock rom (from the link you mentioned above) in their respective place in odin.

That's why I wasn't able to boot when I installed TWRP.
Does this mean we won't have TWRP at all or we have to wait for further development of TWRP.
Thank You
I have been using OneUI 2.0 for a day and half, along the way I've found few bugs.
1. Split Screen mode completely destroys navigation gestures, recents and the overall UI lags.( Needs restart to fix)
2. Task Changer and Nice Shot don't work at all.
3. Usual Android 10 issue, third party launcher isn't usable with gestures.
If I find more I'll add them
Thank You

Root S7/ S7 Edge & Unroot Easy (Updated: 02/09/2020)

This is an updated root and unroot method for the s7/s7 edge.
I updated the zip file with the latest eng boot
Uploaded the latest stock files
Credit: https://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-s7-edge/how-to/root-s7-s7edge-oreo-nougat-t3819616
Use V10 Odin Files this will allow you to root the s7/s7 sdge on the latest firmware. (02/09/2020)
Directions:
This works for Oreo And Nougat Roms
As always there is a chance of bricking your phone
1. Download and extract S7_Oreo_Nougat_Adb_Advanced_Root.zip
2. Reboot your phone to download mode
3. Inside the S7_Oreo_Nougat_Adb_Advanced_Root folder you will find an Odin_Firmware folder. Use Odin and flash the Eng Boot Image for your
phone
4. Once phone is rebooted and connected to computer click on the cmd-here.exe and type root.bat in the command window and hit enter
5. Follow directions on the command window
6. You can only use system root on Oreo
7. Once root is done and root bat closes leave your phone alone for a few minutes it may reboot a couple of times
8. Sprint Users This should work for you as well just let me know if your phone reboots with eng boot.img installed like it did on nougat while try too run the root.bat. I may need to change some things
9. With this system root do not update su binary if in anyway you get something asking you to update binaries ignore it. You can also disable notifications about updating binaries. This will not affect su app
10. Don't flash any superuser zips in recovery that are not made by me
S7 Oreo Nougat Adb Advanced Root V13: https://archive.org/download/s7oreo...Nougat_Adb_Advanced_Root_V13 (02-08-2020).zip
Return to stock:
Open odin
Reboot in download mode
Apply files
Plus in device
Flash to device

Thank you. Followed the straight forward steps and got mine done perfectly on v10_BL. I even flashed stock and did it again just to be sure. I very much appreciate your work.

Magisk for Samsung Galaxy a42

Anyone has tried rooting using Magisk? I just bought this last week. I want to modify the CSC feature so that I can enable auto call recording restriction in my country. That needs rooting. I don't care about the warranty. Anyone?

In India a42 supports call recording but in Malaysia it does not. I think flashing CSC requires root access and that is what Magisk is all about from my first question.

I thought in India it's already been enabled by the carrier CSC. BTW, I live in Malaysia. You need to root your phone with Magisk and then edit the CSC feature to enable call recorder. But remember warranty is 100% void.

I mean that sometimes exploits are found that allow you to gain root access without the need to unlock the bootloader. To this day I've only seen it be done on S8 and S9 so I think your chances of an exploit like that being released are very slim. There were also paid services to gain special tokens that would allow you to unlock the bootloader but those were pretty expensive, at least like 100 USD. And it's been so long that I've seen them I have no clue if they're still in business.

On qcom devices, not really. Even on exynos devices after removing that you still need to physically press the power button or if you don't wanna even do that you have to w8 bout 10 to 15 extra seconds..

Glad to see it's working. I just purchased the device today but I don't have a PC with Windows, I'm on Ubuntu. Would it work as well using Odin for Mobile ? Does a version of Odin exist for Linux ?

Thank you for your reply, I'll take a look at that.
I have a other question : I checked the firmware and it's AUB5. I guess I can't use the file attached in the post and I need to patch boot.img as described here :
(I assume it's the same for any samsung device...) ?

Yes, it's more or less the procedure. But I would just download the latest magisk (22.1) from

My phone had an update, I'm on firmware (AUC5) now. I tried to patch boot.img with Magisk and install it with Odin but I got a message FAILED. Don't know whether the problem comes from a bad procedure during patching AUC5 boot firmware or a problem with ODIN. I activated "USB debogging" in settings which is not specified in the instructions above, can it be the problem ? Any idea ?

Yes OEM unlocked and USB debugging unlocked. When I connected the phone via Odin it was well recognized, the Id Com was blue but I when click on start button I had a failed message. Don't remember if there was a specific message but I think there wasn't (may be I could try again). My device model is SM-A525F/DS and baseband version A525FXXU1AUC5.
Coul it be that I didn't patch the boot.img correctly ?
If I'm correct you flashed latest firmware (AUC5) and patched boot.img with Magisk and everything went fine, right ?

OK, I think you pointed the problem. I checked the option in the dev options but that's all I did. I assume that's why it is not grey as described in the video above.
Where can I found a reliable tuto on how to unlock bootloader ?
I think I found one :

I'm getting closer but still not performed yet...
Bootloader unlocked successfully
Installation via Odin successfull
When I want to install Magisk I have an error message : "There was a problem while parsing the package"
I allowed Magisk in "Install unknown apps" but I stuck anyway with that message.
Should I install Magisk from an other source ?
I installed Magisk from an other source and eventually I succeeded to get root !
Huge thanks Hansxl for your help and patience. Really appreciated it.
Last question : if I update the firmware I'll need to make the full procedure described above again ?

Question [SOLVED] Samsung A12 / SM-A127F/DSN - Root problem

Hello,
I have problem with patch my boot.img with Magisk manager. After patching I got error : "The phone is not running Samsung's official software". After flash again stock boot.img everything works.
I use Odin to flash.
I tried to install unofficial TWRP from other thread but I got SVD Fail and vbmeta errors during boot.
Somebody have any idea how solve this problem?
Model : SM-A127F/DSN
Baseband version : A127FXXU2AUG7
Android 11 (UI 3.1)
Info from download mode :
KG STATE : Checking
FRP LOCK : OFF
OEM LOCK : OFF(U)
Secure Download : Enabled
RP SWREV : B:2 K:2 S:2
I found similar situation on movie :
But for me recovery mode and factory reset not solve problem. Phone stuck on "Samsung's official software" and reboot after a few minutes.
Best Regards
Patch the boot image of the fimware your phone is currently running.
I used the same boot.img and instructions from This thread
In attachment magisk patching log
I solved this problem by This thread
SM-A127F have a different hardware than for example SM-A125F and working on Exynos 850 the same as Samsung A21s.
Magisk 23 still not working.

Hi, Yes I have root on this device !
It's very simple, but official Magisk have a bug which prevents the device from booting properly and your phone will be stuck with in bootloop.
1. You must get custom patched Magisk (jn attachment) - from This thread and install it on phone.
2. Get your original firmware from : https://samfw.com/firmware/SM-A127F
3. Unpack your firmware and upload AP_XXXXX file on phone and patch it with magisk.
4. Flash with ODIN and done
You have full instruction : Here but I recommend patch full AP_XXX file not only boot.img. Full AP patch It will allow you to turn off DM-Verity immediately and trouble with vbmeta.

Not exactly sure, maybe physwizz confirm, I presume, you tried install kernel file by Install button in TWRP. I tried it too, failed it too and
a) you have done backup in TWRP, thats usual reason to setup TWRP - you just in case backup those special partition and if you done it, restore boot from backup will help
b) really not sure about that, but Odin, button BL and flash BL file from original stock ROM.
Can anybody advanced confirm? Maybe it can be helpful to know exactly, what for sure are kernel (AFAIK part of boot partition), "bootloader" and "boot" partion, BL button in Odin
