Rescue and Smart Assistant Not working - Motorola Edge Questions & Answers

So I tried flashing some gsi's and they were great other than the fact they never work with verizon(which I have). So I decided to try to rescue and go back to stock but its not reading it as the Edge. I also have tried manually flashing the .imgs but the system imgs fail to flash. Does anyone have any knowledge of what can be done to recue the phone? Thanks in advance.

Yes and the error message is "the device missed ro.carrier" in the smart asst.
this is the outcome of trying to fastboot flash
fastboot flash system C:\ProgramData\LMSA\Download\RomFiles\RACER_RETAIL_QPD30.114_80_subsidy_DEFAULT_regulatory_DEFAULT_CFC.xml\super.img_sparsechunk.0

I'm not familiar with super.img, but the service.xml says
Code:
<step MD5="66475a16cefbb5f6bbaebfcf23defd25" filename="super.img_sparsechunk.0" operation="flash" partition="super"/>
which if flashing manually should be: fastboot, operation, partition, filename
Code:
fastboot flash super super.img_sparsechunk.0

Every time you are going to flash a new firmware you should be looking at the service.xml to see the current commands, they do change from time to time.
or use Rootjunky's Batch Script.

I'm going to give it a try now. If all fails I'll just make a flash all.bat and see if that works. Thank you for all your help! I know what you mean about the super.img. Things keep changing once you get used to it it changes again...

I've done some searching and Super does appear to be the new partition.
Code:
fastboot flash super super.img_sparsechunk.0

That way did end up flashing!
So I took a flash all from my other motos firmware and modded it from 14 super.img to the 7 for this device moved all the files over started the bat file and my phone is stock once again. I think I'll be staying stock from now on(rooted of course)!

Help me find my Stock Rom, Flashing Locked, No System

I brick my moto g8 plus and i cannot find the correct firmware to flash it, and i have bootloader locked, i was trying to install a GSI ROM and everything was ok, until i lock the bootloader and realize what have i done
I tried everything already, this is my only hope
The things i tried include:
QFIL(the programmer file for this is inside the blankflash, and the rawprogram0 and patch0 i generate from gpt.bin), and when its gonna flash something after the files of the bootloader it say the error "range restricted", and i cannot flash anything after that, i cannot either read partitions that are not the bootloader, i was looking for modified the programmer or something else but didn't work
I tried modified the blankflash commands that is inside of singleimage.bin. When i tried to "<oem value="unlock"/> it says that "handler oem not allowed", and the same happens with "<flashing value="unlock"/>" then "handler flashing not allowed"
i tried already LMSA and get error at 50%
if anyone wants more information for what i did with QFIL tell me

Well, you said you need to find the proper firmware for your device and this is the proper one.
The error you are getting from the tool may come from other reason, I used qfil sometimes to unbrick a pair of devices and never had any issues, you have to put your device in EDL mode, the fire programmer file has to be the proper too.
Fastboot is not available for you due to your mistake to re-lock bootloader while you are using something custom onto your device.

I think that i was in the incorrect firmware, i already use the proper programmer file, it wont let flash anything after the sector 77824.
Maybe the programmer file that i get from the blankflash only let to flash to the sector 77824, that sector are from the bootloader
That is the only programmer that i found for SDM665 EMMC :c

You'd need to read every possible workaround to overcome this, unfortunately there is not a simple receipt, here one of the guides you can see

Any update? I have a phone that has the same problem as yours, except i can use the blankflash and it works.
Could you share your QFIL files by the way?

It work's for me too, but its still locked the bootloader
If you have any news, let me know, I also have a similar problem
CarlyArcadia said:
When i tried to "<oem value="unlock"/> it says that "handler oem not allowed", and the same happens with "<flashing value="unlock"/>" then "handler flashing not allowed"
i tried already LMSA and get error at 50%
if anyone wants more information for what i did with QFIL tell me
Sorry for my bad english

Question Help with pseudo unbricked device

HI all! i`m stuck on bootloader... i brick my g100 trying to install a custom rom, unbrick it with EDL (thank god!).
but now i`m stuck on bootloader. I`ve confused about my phone region, already reflash the stock rom of RETBR region, but RSA tool tells me that it is RETAIL (and idk the difference).
Right now i can access my phone via bootloader, but all commands return (remote failure). Unfortunately the bootloader is now locked and when i run fastboot flashing unlock or fastboot oem unlock <my code> it returns that i need unlock OEM via Developer tools, BUT, i can`t access the system to do that! lol
one thing that i realize on my getvar all is that the current_slot property is empty and ro.carrier mismatch version-bootloader and others properties
any clue to save me? I`m mainly using Linux btw but have access at Windows if need to.

I dont understand why you guys keep relocking the bootloader, that really should not be advised.

And what with the following command?:
Code:
fastboot --set-active=b
Can be a or b of course ;-)

Failed to get unlock data

I want to put LOS on my new Motorola One 5G Ace (XT2113-2). I downloaded platform tools from here, enabled OEM unlock and USB debugging in settings, and restarted the phone with adb restart bootloader. While in fastboot, fastboot devices showed the device, but every time I tried fastboot oem get_unlock_data it would hang for a while, give up with the following error and reboot into fastboot again:
Code:
% ./fastboot oem get_unlock_data
FAILED (Status read failed (No such device))
fastboot: error: Command failed
I read somewhere that this needs to be done on Windows, so I booted up Windows and downloaded platform tools from here, downloaded the USB driver from here, installed that, rebooted everything and tried again. This time fastboot oem get_unlock_data gave up immediately with another error:
Code:
> fastboot oem get_unlock_data
(bootloader) Failed to get unlock data.
OKAY [ 0.012s]
Finished. Total time: 0.012s
I read somewhere else that I needed to put a SIM card in the device and wait a while. I also tried enabling data before rebooting into fastboot, as well as various USB cables and ports. On two different PCs.
Any ideas?

Question Help with Soft Brick

I was trying to restore my G Stylus 5g. I flashed the stock rom with LMSA and then attempted to relock the bootloader. Now when the phone starts up it says that it has no OS and just reboots to fastboot. I tried running LMSA and it gets about 35% done and the throws an error about single partition. I downloaded the stock rom from lolinet and tried to manually flash but get permission denied errors. I have seen similar users with this issue and the problem was that the firmware version was different from the software channel my getvar all output shows that both the software channel and the firmware version is RETUS.

I tried this. I used all three versions of the blankflash with the latest firmware. I still get a permission denied error after getting into fastboot and trying to flash the signed firmware.

Yes,
The bootloader is locked. I was trying to flash back to the factory signed firmware. I flashed it back before locking the bootloader. My assumption was that even with a locked bootloader you can flash the same factory firmware. I would like to try and recover the phone but at this point if it's a lost cause.

Question Bought a soft bricked edge 2021 and all it does it bootloop after flashing firmware multiple ways

Hi,
I don't understand what the issue is with this this phone. It continually just bootloops. It gives the error plese see pick:
I tired:
1. Lenovo's rescue tool-it successfully flashed; still bootloops.
2. Verizon's firmware tool-it successfully flashed; still bootloops.
3. Downloaded the firmware manually and manually flashed every file; still bootloops.
The phone turns on every time, I can boot to fastboot and recovery. Bootloader says oem_locked. I don't know what else to do. I thought this would be an easy fix.

Bootloader seems out of date compared to the factory firmware available for vzw.
I don't think the firmware is flashing correctly.
Please try using Moto Flash pro:
