Lg velvet 4g battery capacity only 3500 mAh? - LG Velvet Guides, News, & Discussion

Dear community
I recently brought an LG velvet with Snapdragon 845 processor.
I installed a few apps, which can show the battery capacity.
All are showing 3500 mAh.
Even though the battery life is good and doesn't feel like 3500 mAh, but still, is there any reason for that?
Thank you for your opinions.

Hello ! 3500 mAh here also (4g) ! Is it a wrong reading from the apps? Could you please tell me how much time to charge ? My Velvet sometimes passes 4 hours to charge ! (without charge optimization)

Hi Filipe, no, I haven't found any more info about it. But I guess that could be some sensor issue because when I use the phone, the battery lasts pretty much fine. If it was a 3500mAh battery, then it wouldn't last the whole day.
And yes, charging time is much higher: 4to 92% in 2.5 hours with Airplane mode, sync off, GPS off and battery saver on.
Best,
Hitansh

Thanks ! I ran a 4% to 100% accubattery test and it estimated almost 4300. So , it seems ok
Do you have second screen case ? I'm hesitating , but in Portugal it didn't arrive yet ... (and I assume it steels its energy from the phone...)

Battery usage critique please!

Hi everyone,
Phone is Sensation XE.
ROM is Virtuous Insquisition 4.0.2 (using kernel that comes with the ROM).
I think i'm a moderate user. I dont surf or play games that much. I do text/chat quite a bit. However, my battery can never last a whole day.

by 7 or 8pm, i usually have to turn off Data, WiFi, GPS ect to save battery.
Can the phone last the whole day with Mugen battery? I've already purchased it. waiting for it to arrive.
Please advice,
Thanks
Yes it should get you through I bought the anker and it works perfectly no issues but I wish I could still get more juice because I am an extreme user lol...
Swyped From My Sensation.
I'm also an extreme user and anker battery helps a lot! What a difference from stock battery!
Not sure about the mugan I've never tried it.I'm sure it will help out a lot I know Anker does.

If you have all those apps up and running they will withoud doubt kill the battery life
The other poster are correct in that a better battery/larger capicity will provide considerable help
Are you aware that Wif uses lots of power looking for and trying to connect to wifi, so if its not connected switching this off help, also GPS is a grat battery hog and should only be on when needed
try without them on for a few recharge cycles and see
I recommend a quality replacement battery - try the Anker 1800 ma I get almost 48 hous of medium us - no GPS and wifi only on when I'm at home or work - it uses less power when connected unlike the GPS

Hi,
You should use your battery for 3 or 4 cycles (charge/discharge) before judging it.
Yes above post is correct. Please cycle 3-5 times before judge. I just received a. New mugen 3500mah battery
It's recommended to cycle 4-5 times before it reaches full capacity. I'm on first cycle. So far a hour of use still at 100%.but it won't be to full capacities until its cycled at least 4 times.also I read not to drain to zero percent before next cycle. Hope this helps out.also you can get a long lasting battery if issues still persist. Personally I finally broke down and got a mugen 3500 mah for my device. The back cover is pretty ugly but so far first cycle battery is amazing! That's what matters to me anyway. Phone may look a bit pregnant but great battery life is the trade off . So far its worth every penny. I was tired of having battery issues. If you do decide to purchase one. Purchase from mugen site. Also follow instructions before use device must be charged 12 hours even if showing 100% also instructions recommend never discharging to zero before next cycle of 12 hours . I hope this helps.
sent from HTC sensation, soff, 3.33 firmware, viper Rom, sense 4.1, mugen battery. please press thanks if I helped in anyway.

Xt1040 discharging waaaay too fast

Hi all :>, my GF have a moto G 1st gen LTE( xt1040) that i recently wiped and etc, stock rom, some bloatwares removed for better performance and battery time, but there is a problem with its battery, it just discharges too fast, and sometimes it even shutdown with like 70% battery, and when it reboots, has 0% battery. I was using him nicely about 1,5 or 2 weeks, but 2 days ago, it started to do this.
I'll try to calibrate the battery, and if no sucess i will reinstall the rom, any of you guys know some good way to calibrate the battery that has worked with moto G's?
If yes, please share :good: :good:
Thanks :highfive:

Snapdragon BatteryGuru install this and give it 5 days time for analysis.
Also I had faced similar issue with my MOTO RAZR XT910 back in 2012, it used to switch off at 60 or 70% all of a sudden, then I found out that my battery was dead.. (it happened after 13 months usage though)

S6 Battery - Accubattery - How is this even possible???

Okay so I have this phone for over 3 years now as my daily phone and the battery started deteriorating fast, up to where I will only get between 1h - 2h SOT (phone was always on stock firmware and not rooted).
So yesterday I flashed Noble Nougat Rom 5.1 with Kiboi kernel.
This morning I installed all apps again and after the battery died, I plugged it in with Accubattery running.
As I write this, Accubattery says 2724mah has been charged in 1h50min and it is 90% charged. Will post a screenshot of fully charged stats.
Battery design capacity is only 2550mah. Is it possible that Samsung limits the phone not to use full capacity of battery and Kibio kernel "opens up" the bottleneck? Are the stats wrong? Does Kiboi kernel mess up charging current recognised by Accubattery? Whatever is happening is beyond my understanding and reasoning.
I ordered a S7 batter to replace the "bad" stock battery, but now the stock battery looks not so bad after all. The proof is in the pudding, however. Will see how this charge holds up and let you know.
Screenshots
Had to unplug phone at 94% to take a call. Screenshots below.

Could be a bug.
Or maybe someone put an S7 Edge battery in your phone before you got it.

Between those 2 options, I'd say it is a bug, because I bought this phone new, unless Samsung put it in there for me.
Okay so I resolved that it is some kind of bug causing Accubattery not to be accurate. After 18h light use I only managed to get 2h30 SOT of this charge. Battery still sucks so now waiting for S7 battery to arrive.
2nd Charge did much better, 3h45 SOT. It felt like the battery will never die (i want to have 2 - 3 full charge/discharge cycles with new rom and kernel).
I think the new rom and kernel is a good match for the battery because I notice a significant change. Usually the battery dropped about 3 - 5% and hour while in standby, now the drop is down to about 1% per hour.
For all of you struggling with poor battery life, I suggest to flash Noble Nougat Experience 5.1 with Kiboi kernel.

Battery taking a turn for the worse?

When I first got my Note 20 Ultra (Aug of last year) the battery was amazing. Now within the last 2 months is horrible. My phone shows a full charge will last 11 hours and 51m. Just today I was out and about, unplugged at 11am est and by 4pm I was at 41%.
Not sure what has changed. Though Facebook is showing around 10-20% battery usage over the last 7 days which is odd since I'm not using it that much.
Ditch FB* and any social media that's loaded as an app... crapware.
Clear system cache.
Disable all power management.
Now see what's using the battery and if it's appropriate. Go from there.
Install Accubattery to track battery use history.
A well optimized Note should about 7-14%@hr SOT, less than 1%@hr with AOD in tap on mode at night.
After doing all this reevaluate if it's a weak battery or just excessive power usage.
*yeah I know you can't send any FB messages if the app isn't installed... ditch this malware. It's malware by design not coincidence. FB is a menace... learn or get burned.
This is my N10+, the N20U may use slightly more due to variable refresh rate and 5G but should be similar.

I figure a on heavily used Note that's fast charged the battery will last 1-2 years.
My last N10+ battery failed around the 1.5 year mark. I'll probably replace now at 1 year intervals.
