Android 11 Beta - LG V60 ThinQ Guides, News, & Discussion

Not sure if anything can be done with this. But the betas for Android 11 on the Verizon and T-Mobile variants have been leaked. Another thing I noticed is they apparently have rooted boots for the V60. If these are legit I couldn't tell you. But here's the link to that as well. I should add the source to this was some guy on Reddit. I just figured maybe you guys would have an idea of what to do. I'm just an old school flasher not a dev. https://kdz.gresslg.tk/?dir=KDZ更新记录(内测)

I would love the TMO version, but I'm not paying for a possibly sketchy beta with no idea if it's legit, or what the status of the stability of it is. Bit I'm curious if someone else gets hold of it and what their experience is with it

The guy did email me back when I'm done with a quiz in about fifteen I'll see what he said.

Alright apparently the beta can't be accessed outside of LG's network. But they said Android 11 is among us for the T-Mobile V60.

Yeah, I was hoping T-Mob would open up a limited Beta testing for it. Well let's hope sooner than later.

Looks like March 3rd/4th...

It looks like March 3rd/4th is the next rumored drop date for the TB. BGR is reporting an insider at VZW was at an event held last night with TB launch details etc.
http://www.bgr.com/2011/02/24/htc-thunderbolt-may-launch-on-march-3rd-or-4th-4g-lte/

I saw that in the Android Central forums, it's quite possible. If the date holds I can hold on another week. Of course it'd be nice for Verizon to say something.
I actually beleive this may really be the date, Im kind of relieved..
My local Verizon corp. store took down all their TB signs. They are only flying the iP4 signs now. There for a while the walls were plastered with TB ads and signs.
Which "MARCH MADNESS" are we going to watch the NCAA BASKETBALL or the VERIZON /HTC Thunderbolt madness ???????
It might be even later if they can't get the FW more stable. It looks like they are going to just release the device and then push a couple OTA after release.
I've had the Incredible since May of 2010(one of the lucky ones) and am amazed at the recent rom development for this phone. I am also eligible for an upgrade as I am the primary line account.
That being said, I am excited for the Thunderbolt; but I can wait for the release. Chances are Verizon may lower the price after 30 days or so, depending on how well its received.

Yeah , having my Inc and a good rom makes the wait easier. Still want the Tbolt soon.

I must have missed that info. Has anyone with credibility actually stated that, or is that just another rumor being thrown around? I would assume if they already shipped out plenty of units, the FW would be plenty stable.
Would you please post a link to the source of that concern.

I work for Qualcomm, and the device went gold since January. The Network is being fine tuned to handle the LTE devices, and iPhone traffic, but the firmware is not the reason. There were numerous tentative release dates, but Verizon publically stated 1Q. Iphone 4 was the first priority, but that's my opinion.

CM13 wifi calling on T-Mobile?

It was supposed to be. CM came out before the 13 release and said they figured out how to add it in and will be putting it in, but it isn't in the rom yet. I'm waiting for it too.
Don't hold your breathe on it. Unless they made some miraculous deal with T-mo to get their proprietary code for wifi calling, it aint gonna happen. If CM and/or OnePlus said that they are gonna implement this, they are full of crap.

CM did say they were going to add it and also wifi calling is native in android 6.0. Here's the article where they said it too http://www.androidpolice.com/2015/1...-include-support-for-t-mobiles-wi-fi-calling/
Wow, looks like it is so. Guess T-mo finally wised up and released their source. Like the article stated, more and more are going to no contract services and bringing their own phone. Just makes a better business sense allowing custom roms to have this running on their network.
This seems hopeless huh?
I thought it was working on the nexus series, not sure why it wouldn't work with us

Marshmallow will get here when it gets here.

I understand the craving for an update, but it seems every week there's a new thread asking when Marshmallow will arrive. I understand the irony of this statement, but please do not make anymore threads asking when the update will be out. Those are questions better suited for your carrier (I'm sure they have forums). Threads promoting discussion about Marshmallow are okay, such as asking what you're looking forward to most, but simply asking when it's going to be out is not making it come any faster.
While you're waiting, try flashing some of the ROMs, Kernels, and recoveries that our fantastic devs so graciously provide to us for free. @TEKHD, @jovy23, @foreverloco, @dr.ketan, @arter97, and @UpInTheAir (If I've forgotten anyone, I apologize) have all done amazing work for our device on the current version of Android. Take this time to test out their ROMs/kernels and if you get bored, flash another one. Explore all the settings and options. There is a lot you can do with what you've been given here.
Sorry. Rant over.
Thank you for saying what needed to be said. Although I am currently on the latest ROM and kernel from @TEKHD and @UpInTheAir, I was stock for the first 5 months of owning the Note 5. It runs more than fine on 5.1.1, and for everyone complaining that the M8 or M9 are getting MM on T-Mobile before us, there's a good reason for it. HTC has released MM for the international models and Samsung hasn't yet. T-Mobile can't release what they don't have.
I am also running stock 5.1.1 with root on my N5 and it's perfectly fine with LP. I'm in no rush for the MM update. There's a chance it may bring issues along with it and I read somewhere that it would be some time in March when we can see the update. Everyone just needs to hang tight.
@NotATreoFan @tamelion1117
Well said, sirs. I'd personally prefer to wait longer if it meant that most of the bugs and issues are ironed out when it finally hits our device. A solid, smooth update that comes a tad late is better than a half-assed buggy update that comes immediately.

Just what needed to be said, it may not have the new software, but I love my Note 5 just the way it is, and when Marshmallow comes out, it will be even better.

People generally feel there need to want the latest and greatest, in this case, the most up to date version of Android. I personally don't think MM will add much benefit to the note 5 because 5.1.1 is already quite good. Especially when you compare it to previous versions on tw.
If you want mm so badly, simply sell your note 5 and buy a nexus 6p. ;p it's crossed my mind a few times.
I was just thinking about this. As soon as an upgrade is pending many people all of a sudden seem to be unhappy with the phone until they get it.

Word. Nevermind that 5.1.1 runs like a bandit on the Note 5. Doze and permission control will be nice, but Samsung implemented the app optimization feature and the ROM I'm running right now has permission control as well. I'm not sure what else people want.
I'm sure the same people crying for the update will also be the ones to pin point and complain about every minor bug like it's some experience-breaking issue.
Just wait until it arrives and 37 threads pop up from sub 50 post users all notifying us of the update. Just trying to boost their thanks/post count and acting like little kiddies. I remember the note 4 general thread when an update dropped.
Anyone that is getting ansy for the MM update should read up on the 5.0 lollipop update on the Moto X 2014, my previous phone. Was one of the first to get the update, and so it had all the bugs. Didn't ever get totally sorted out, although 5.1 made it much better.
It could be around the corner:
"Samsung Galaxy Note 5 - February 2016"
Sammy is working on it, which means we'll likely see it late in the summer...ish.

It looks like the AT&T Note5 has a beta test that just went live today, not many testers but someone that is on XDA got it, might be some kind of beta firmware floating around in the not too distant future. Also good news that Samsung is getting that far on any carrier, might have something for Tmo in the not so distant future.

Take this with a *HUGE* grain of salt, but I would suspect they're testing MM on AT&T because they're the largest GSM carrier in the US, and they also love to modify the builds more than T-Mobile does.
I doubt we'll see mm until the gs7 arrives

Anybody got any update above b190 for L29C567?

Anybody got any update above b190 for L29C567? US version that is. The Intl C432 version got 2 or 3 updates after our May update.
Should we consider rebranding?

There's a beta, B230, out for the US version. That's the latest release, albeit not an officially pushed one.
Probably new version will come soon, I'd think.

Me either...I do appreciate those that run the betas, but 190 is VERY stable for me. I've gotten old enough, cranky
enough, and stubborn enough to just run official release versions. At the end of the day when I get home from
work, I don't even pick my phone up, unless someone actually calls me, and even with that, it better be a family
member or I won't touch it. I get enough calls, text, emails on the thing during the day.:cyclops:
Same here...was tempted to rebrand and try some of the custom ROMs but this phone is working so well for me. I also doubt the 230 version has any features that makes it worth it to update. I will wait for Oreo before I mess with it again.

(Rev.3/2) ANY SM-N986U1 USERS (USA) GET ONE UI 3.1? 《WELL, WHY HAVEN'T YOU, IT'S HERE?!》

(Revised 3/2/21)
If by now, you haven't received this firmware update from your wireless provider, something is askew and you probably should start looking that. Other than that, if you're not already running on it, you've probably made that choice!
As with all software updates, it's never a bad time to either perform a new backup before commencing with the OTA download, or at least check on what date your showing for the last one (usually, you'll find your handset performs these daily, once every 24 hours). As for me personally, that's my cue to run my backup to my microsd card via the Smartswitch app!
The last friendly reminder I wanted to share witb some of our newcomers that have recently graced us with their presence, is to make certain you're at (or pretty damn close) to 75% charged on your new flagship! The way these new "beasts" we own "bleed-out" our batteries, it's not a bad idea to "up the ante" with the old school rule of having your battery at 50% or more before downloading the update! I saw this same topic mentioned on one of the other forums/channels the other day and thought it was some good advice? Eh, to each his/her own...whatever works for you!
《ATTENTION: ALL NEW MEMBERS AND GUESTS OF XDA DEVELOPERS FORUM》
Welcome to our humble, yet well informed niche!
Either way, we're glad your here. Hit us up if you need anything. If/when you do ask for assistance, don't be surprised if more than 1 or 2 of us chime in. That's how we roll here!

I read Samsung already started rolling out out this update at the beginning of the week(2/15)
to include this handset. I'm TMB and that's a
no-go (so far) and Sprint hasn't rolled it out either.
Anyone with new Intel on this matter, please share as a small monetary contribution will be made available(jk)!

yep, saw that, but you're an Unlocked, Carrier Branded SM-N986U, not SM-N986U1. That's where my confusion came about until I figured it out looking at FOTA!
I know it's no cause for alarm (with samsung, it happens more often than not) but I didn't see a new build # assigned yet for XAA(as if they hadn't started one, but much more likely they just failed to update their system)!
However, for those of you SM-N986U1 users (like myself) seeing this dialog, we could be in for a little longer wait, meaning we may not have Our Update by this coming Monday (3/1), as a few of the websites I saw earlier were speculating!
(We will know more soon, I'm certain)!

I'm on the unlocked SM-N986U1 connected to Verizon and still no update for me. I thought having an unlocked phone straight from Samsung would put me in line to get the updates first, but I guess not. I have bought two notes from Samsung directly over the years because I was under the impression if I bought the phones straight from Sammy I would get more features and faster updates. But as time goes on I see now that the unlocked phones are second class to Sammy. It seem to me like Sammy can't help but stroke off the carriers and bend to what they want.
