Need Help Installing Firmware on a P40 Lite - Huawei P40 Questions & Answers

I downgraded my phone using Firmware Finder and now I'm trying to update to another version using the DLOAD method.
First I need to find the correct Firmware, I have a JNY LX1 and I want EMUI 10.0.1.117... I can't find a certified version anywere. I tried with other version ( Idk if it's certified by Huawei) and it showed me "Software Install Failed!"
And I have 1 question, the DLOAD method needs a SD Card or I can use an USB Drive?
Update: If you're having this problem, intall GMS, then update to an old version ( It needs to be more recent than the version that you're using) and then de updates will be unlocked. I discovered when you downgrade your firmware Firmware Finder blocks the updates. Hope it helps
Thanks,
Santiagobbboff

Pm me your screenshot of about phone (I'll add some firmware along with the installer for gms soon, so I collected some fw for lite/lite e etc)

Rollback package for Various models

Hi Folks,
I am aware we have rollback package for L21 model to rollback from Nougat to MM. Do we have the same for any other model and if so, please provide the link so that the Repo thread can be updated. That will be a consolidated thread for all the files and will help fellow members quickly rather asking the same question in multiple threads.
L21, L22, AL10, TL10, BLL and BLN and any other models can PM me or can update on this thread and Repo will be updated with proper credit.
yeah, it seems only for L21 and L24 models. lets see if anyone has it, they can share to help other fellow members,
Well, mine is a BLN-L21C185 and running B361 now & it is missing the FM radio app but I have not yet been able to rollback it to B130 or B131, I have tried some rollback packages i.e the one for BLN-L21 from Italy and Germany too but failed, and it gave me something like verification failed error. I am too waiting for a rollback package for my region.

@shashank1320 ;Well I've just tried that German rollback package, and it also says software install failed incompatibility with current version please download the correct version and try again.

Not at all. I used the force update method, which requires you to unlock BL but it's free. (bought my Mate 9 from Germany, live in Sweden. Huawei has never approved a single update for me)
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-9/how-to/guide-mate-9-flash-update-package-t3593108
Firmware Finder is showing MHA-L29C432B362 (8.0.0.362) FullOTA-MF for my Mate 9. Update is not showing up under "System Update" or in HiCare.
Question, is it ok to install from Firmware Finder or does that has any influence on further OTA updates from Huawei?
Thanks

I know, the Huawei update system is goofy. All the devices are the same, so from a hardware standpoint any Mate 9 firmware should be allowed. Huawei should let the users decide what they want to flash. Yes, your average user should just get the standard updates but there should be an option like unlocking Developer Settings and clicking a switch "Allow any firmware".
Which firmware are you running at the moment? I have 360 and the 361 and 362 don't seem to have any real improvements other than some security updates and improved WiFi.

Right, same here, don't get it.
has been the same with my mate 9 ever since I bought it (on release). Huawei updates are kinda strange to put it mildy. and I don't want to get bothered with unlocked bootloaders and updates through all kind of alternative update servers and such. it is what it is, phone is running ok so we have to be patient.
Same boat. Also rebranded.
Actually, I was about to go down the flashing rabbit hole, but I saw this post and I think I'll wait one more month.
how working?
Was on the chat with Huawei today. Last devices should not receive the update later than 23. February.

Did you have to down grade to Nougat before doing the upgrade?
I'm on 636 B360 using this TWRP: twrp_android_o_mate9_a1.img which is 3.1.1.0 and when I run the update.bat nothing happens after I reboot to TWRP.

Have you installed the Huawei Firmware Finder app? I have the same device as you. HFF shows the update and the full stock firmware for the device and lets you download it from within the app.
No, is this for a PC or one you install on your device?

You install it on the M5. It's free in Play Store. Look for Firmware Finder for Huawei.
Thanks, I downloaded a copy and can now extract the ramdisk image so I can root the tablet

In case you are still looking for the actual stock firmware, I have posted it here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mediapad-m5/how-to/stock-mediapad-m5-8-4-wifi-sht-w09c567-t3827786
Since you only need the ramdisk image, using the other method will be sufficient.
Thanks for posting, it looks like there is a new image available for US tablets (8.0.0167). Have you installed it?

Yes, I installed the stock 156 first, then manually installed 167 because at the time it was not approved for installation. 167 had some touch / scrolling fixes I wanted to take. Been very happy with v 167.
Thanks, is the update process complicated? I'm rooted with Magisk and figure I will have to return to stock recovery, flash update, then go through root process again.

Update available 9.0.0.162(E) but not on Firmware Finder

Hi guys, my phone just showed me that an update 9.0.0.162(E) is available.
What is ths? Especially the (E). Never saw that before.
But i can't find the firmware on Firmware Finder.
Is there any information if and when the update will arrive?
Is it just a security patch? The update app says its's 3,69GB.
I'm currently on 9.0.0.159(patch01).
My Model is a german C432.

If you have not yet installed it it's better to share it firmware finder.
There is an option to share in firmware finder.
I thought it's present in firmware finder and installed it without sharing.

I am also not sure whether it's working anymore. Let's hope it works.
Btw why you got full ROM as ota instead of incremental ota have you modified your device?
It works, its for the device, nothing to worry about.
Just updated totay to .162, no issues. Maybe Firmware Finder (Android App) will get it in some days or try search for yourself with the Desktop Firmware Finder.
I got this.

My device is rooted but I still have stock erecovery
Can I just apply the update without any damage? I just have to root it again, right?
I wanted to apply the tutorial of ThreeMMM to update. The problem ist that I dont have the FullOTA to extract the update.app.
How should I do that?

Yes you have to root again.
Can you reflash the stock recovery and then check for the new update again? I think that way maybe instead of full ota update maybe you have to install partial files

Update to Android 11 with Developer file upgrade.

Good evening,
as I seen it is available directly from the developers portal the firmware upgrade for the Android 11 (Q) for the Find X2 Pro: https://fsopen.coloros.com/3/oppoww...0_all_Hzht983dYbQW-format-findx2pro-2-ex.ozip
The issue I have is about the package, I download it many times also with a download manager but when via file manager I launch it, the package results corrupt.
Someone tested already that way?
Cheers,

It only doesn't work on Chinese versions, there's a fix for people who can't get that OK, should be under that region thread or the update thread
After I changed my region a few times the ok stopped appearing for me so I would have to go back and disable my ethernet adaptor and make a new one or something lol, I'm not to sure yet because I haven't bothered trying yet
