I'm confused, because it clearly states on Moto's website that the Moto G Stylus does not have NFC.

The moto g stylus is the us Variant of the moto g pro, the only difference between the models is the pro is the "international" version and it does have nfc, where as the usa moto g stylus does not have nfc, always remember just like cars the usa never gets anything cool when it comes to Android phones lol

There is a thread open on the Lenovo forums regarding the NFC issue. Apparently many users are affected (including myself; Moto G Pro, not Stylus). Not sure if the rules allow me to provide the link to the Lenovo forum.

Ask for permission from a mod. That's what I do now after getting hit over the head with this rule. LOL. Then I state in my post I got permission from a mod to post this. The mods are nice btw.

You can find the thread easily, just google "motorola moto g pro nfc not working".
I just read through whole thread last night. It pisses me off that it's been over 4 months (that is one 3rd of a year) since the first report and it seems they haven't done anything but waiting for some customer to send them their defected phone.
I'm just wondering how hard is the bug to reproduce? And if some changes in security update broke the functionality, how hard is to find the changes and revert or fix them?

Motorola had replied yesterday that they're ' still working with this '.
I can't believe they still don't have anything concrete after almost 5 months since the initial report.

I bought Moto G Pro few days ago, phone updated system to Android 10 itself. I even had no chance to try any NFC services before system update, but with Android 10 simply it is not working. When I am putting phone to payment terminal, NFC tag, other phone or BT speaker, there is no reaction, no notification.

Gah. I'm also a Chinese but I believe you should learn some XDA manners and stop posting in BIG RED letters.
In Chinese: 这里是XDA-Developers,不是机锋、安智之类的地方,入乡随俗
And about the issues you're asking:
1) My Photon Q is also SIM-modded but no noise can be heard, so I don't know what can be done.
2) I Googled with no positive results, but judging from the fact that the Motorola Droid 4, which has the same battery as our Photon Q, doesn't have NFC, I can safely assume that the NFC chip is on the motherboard.
PM me in English or Chinese if you don't understand or want to further chat
thanks

I mean there is a large current sound during a call. Why wifi antenna interference call? I don't understand.

I understand what you mean, but as I've just experimented on my own Photon Q, no current sound can be heard, so I think you'd better turn to where you bought the phone for help. I assume that you bought this off Taobao, right?
P.S. Maybe you should modify the thread's title, I know you mean "need help from people with knowledge", but that's not an understandable saying outside China...

Lenovo X3 Vibe

Hi
Does anyone know whether the Lenovo Lemon X3 Vibe will be rooted and on XDA?
Thanks
Aussie
As far as I've heard, bootloader is unlocked here. So it should be very easy. But I'm not an Android programmer and also interested in this device. It must be rooted and no other way around! Phone without root is just a toy for blondies
i have lenovo vibe x3 lite (A7010), also interested in root.
Lenovo vibe x3 lite
Hi.
I have the Lenovo vibe x3 lite ( A7010 ) and searched a lot , but not found any efficient method to root , someone knows a way to Root this device ? Thanks.
Hi XDA,
I have a Lenovo vibe X3, it's great! Stereo speakers are loud and the battery life seems really good. It's a lot bigger than I was expecting.
I have the EU version, X3a40. I was hoping someone could help me. I was expecting this to come with a FM radio app- Lenovo's official website says it does. Unfortunately there isn't one on the device, but strangely it looks like there IS one on the Chinese version (see Youtube reviews). As I don't have a big data allowance, streaming radio isn't an option for me so the FM radio is pretty important as I like listening to news when going out.
I tried installing some FM APKs from other Lenovo devices (downloaded from XDA), unfortunately they either don't install , or if they do install they just crash on opening.
I have better success speaking to my bedroom wall than getting answers from Lenovo support so I was wondering if one of you guys could let me know if there is an APK available. In return I'm happy to answer questions on this phone. Thanks guys!
I got mine 2 days back.
I can confirm that on Indian variant (x3a40) the bootloader is locked.
The simple fastboot oem unlock command couldn't unlock it.
Also, I was unable to root it using any of the usual tricks or any of the guides currently available.
I will dig more and let you guys know if anything changes.
I'm really interested in this phone. I was debating buying it from merimobiles £275 ($405), as I can't seem to find it cheaper anywhere else.... Well that delivers to the UK anyway.
Also according to the merimobiles you can get the phone pre-rooted.

If you get it from Merimobiles, please share your experience how things went. I was going to purchase this phone from them until I read some customer reviews so I'm still looking for a place to purchase the phone.

That's what's stopping me from buying from them too. I've bought from Banggood before, and they were great. So I'm hoping they will stock it soon.

This program is not doing anything for lenovo vibe x3, just reboot your phone and send to this site information that it was successful. U can see on the site that your phone was granted permanent root. After its going to Twitter that your phone with your firmware can get root. Checked with many phones before.

I'm aware of the camera not being the best. I can deal with that, as i currently have a Jiayu S3 Advanced which has the same issue.
What's the battery life life like? How much screen on time are you getting?
Have you tried this:

For unrooted device you don't have a lot of options. have you tried this from GPlay: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.larphoid.droidradio&hl=en
or any of branded apps like: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.motorola.fmplayer&hl=en
http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/sony-m...ions/fm-radio-4-0-eks-8-android-apk-download/
At least they are not part of the system and could be installed as apk. If none of them works, waiting for the root is the only solution.
Is there a lot of modification of AOSP on Lenovo X3a40? Gapps are fully supported (contacts, calendar)? Dialer is stock or Lenovo? Does it has internet (sip) calling option in the menu?
I had this phone for 5-6 days (bought the same day it got launched in India); its an awesome phone for $300, Great sound & display, decent performance, an Okey-camera,no heating(thnx to SD808); But No rooting avaiable, bootloader is locked; lenovo forum isnt helpful. So after 6 days I returned it. Now waiting for mi5/honor 7 dual sim. Cant imagine about a phone without root

Huawei Watch 2 China Version

Hello guys!
I purchased this from China and realise I cannot change the language to english. And also having to use the China Version of Android Wear. Is there any way to flash and change the system language or change to global android wear 2.0?
I have my eyes on this too and would like to know myself!
On the original it looked fairly straightforward, hopefully it is on this one too...
You don't have to use android ware 2.0 chinese version. I have global version installed on my iPhone and have successfully connected to huawei watch 2. I could enable Feed and sync calendar cards, email cards etc.

This is my current problem now, watch was bought from China and requires me to install the Android Wear from China as well.
Any idea how to get a copy of the English ROM for Huawei Watch 2?

I don't want to risk flashing HW1 firmware on this.
BTW, is it possible that the developer preview for Huawei Watch 2 will also be available to the public? Is it also possible to just ask Huawei for the files and flash it myself?
They provided a QR which helped me download the Android Wear Chinese Version but it still shows the text in Chinese even if the language in my phone is set to English. Are you saying that there is an Android Wear China App (com.google.android.wearable.app.cn) which can make the HW2 text in English? I think I could live with that for now, else I'll just wait for the English Version before using this daily...
(I can't post the actual link from the QR code, but it's just from VMall dot Com)

you are right, better not risk to flash other ROM, just wait a bit, developers will give us all we need. I am waiting too.... I am trying to get custom recovery on it with no results...... will wait too... you cant set watch to english, no way at all. forget it until we will see an international ROM
I am also about to purchase the china version, but need to know it it will be able to flash the international version later on. Can I assume it will be possible?

Hi, I finally given up the 2nd gen and would opt for the first gen even it is actually more expensive.
the 2nd gen is simply... a toy watch. The original one would seem sustain better.
But my last concern would be battery, will the 2nd gen last much longer than the first one?

Nice is not what people say it is, is what you really like, this is for all things, always.
in second, if you dont mind to spend a lot (my personal opinion) in a watch that was out on 2015 is ok, but 2thgen is better in performances, pixels, ram, battery and so on.
I have apple watch steel ($$$$$$) that is perfect for iphone owners(me), huawei 1th gen, good for sure and really nice, now time to try something more powerfull and also price is finally "real".
anyway, as I say, up to you.
battery is a bit better than 1thgen cause is bigger but not that much, depend on how you will use it, gps and gyro for exaple are consuming a bit, but it will be not a problem for you cause 1th gen have not gps....
by the way, why you are care about version? you are in HK you should find international version too. I always buy my phones there, all international.

The international version in HK will usually cost at least 40% more than that in China. That's the only reason.
On second thought, I am getting an Huawei 2 despite the Huawei 1 is much more appealing and better build quality. In any way it is a tech toy. The battery should sustain no longer than 3 years and it worths nothing by then. So keeping the toy with latest techology would be a good choice.
under what circumstances you can use the china watch except using it as an digital watch?
Almost all app are incompatible. Not even the spotify. Only those happened to be in the Huawei app store will run.

Project Treble

So in some of the news articles a lot of people were complaining that moto have a bad track record when it comes to updates. I'd like to point out that these new phones are releasing with Oreo which means that they have project treble. This makes it far far easier to adapt updates and roms to these phones so even if moto don't bother expect to have all the options! XD

It should be arriving today. Once I have it set-up, I'll try to say something useful about it
Edit: the phone arrived. Setting it up now. Until now everything is smooth. The screen is really nice. Speed is great. Pity to see that 'out of the box' 20% of the internal 64 gb is already taken by the OS and it's native apps.
For now I didn't figure out if the OS is 64 bit or 32 bit.
The camera(s) is (are) really awesome! For now no regrets! But the phone still has a locked bootloader and no root. So for now I can't really check everything. But that's only a matter of time...
The OS is 64 bit!

Great!
Please, can you share info about sensors? It has Compass? NFC?
Another question: As the root/Magisk isn't available at time for this model, can you check almost the Substratum native support with Andromeda (no root required)?

Compass and NFC work both fine. I didn't deliberately test GPS, but location service works fine. And sorry, I really, really hate substratum! No theming for me. One of the reasons that I buy a 'stock android' phone without a skin.
Only little disappointment for now is the battery life. That was better on my Moto G5 Plus with Validus O, but it still brings me through the day.
Here is the complete list of sensors I found on my Moto G6 Plus!

Hi,
Ummm... Now I have a Moto G5+, and the battery with stock firmware is great. You feel the battery of the Moto G6+ is worse?

Hi,
More questions for you:
- The XT1926-3 (RETEU) model of Moto G6+, which "code number" has? For example for the Moto G5+ is "potter". It can be "teller"?
- The phone has FM Radio receiver? How it works?
Thank you!

The battery life was promised as excellent. It's good, but not as good as my Moto G5 Plus with Validus O.
I have the XT1926-3 4/64. Bought in The Netherlands. Codename is 'evert-n' (at least that's what it shows in ADB).
I don't see an FM Radio app, so I assume it doesn't have FM radio. But I usually listen radio via a digital radio app that works online. Way better sound quality and it works without wired headphone!
It does have an fm radio.
I switched from a Nexus 6p to the Moto g6 plus a couple of days ago.
It's a lot cheaper than the 6p was but definitely holds up against it.
It's fast and smooth. Display is very good outdoors in bright sunlight. Its front facing speaker is very loud, camera's are good and the software as it is almost stock Android is also excellent.
Battery life has been great. I am quite the heavy user, and never once with my 6p was I able to get through more then a day. Always ended my days in the 10% with 3h Screen on time.
The Moto g6 has gotten me 2 full days per charge with a screen on time of more then 5 hours. Even with me still downloading apps and installing things.
Only drawback I can find in the whole phone is that it is slippery as hell. A case can easily solve this. But its too bad because she is quite a looker...
This is actually off topic of the project trebble thread, bus as you guys were talking about the 6 plus, I thought I would weigh in.

Hi,
Extracted from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g6/development/moto-g6-plus-firmware-t3788735#post76484034 it seems that the Moto G6+ is "EVERT".
Regards.
How is the battery compared to the old Z Play? Here I have 14h sot. Maybe reachable just with the new G6 Play, right? I think I keep on Z Play. It's good enough. But G6 Plus seems to be great, too. Can anybody check treble support? It it's supported, it's looking like that. You can test it with this app "Treble Check". Thanks!

For treble the two are green (treble and seamless system updates)

Official Pie Update Now Available for XT1900-7 RETEU

Long story short: I gave the phone I already updated to Pie to my girlfriend and kept my other X4 on 8.0 just to see what would happen.
Well just three minutes ago I received the Pie update. This is Retail EU XT1900-7. From Android 8.0
So they did... ultimately... keep their word.
(And it is MOST CERTAINLY Winter now...)

Luis Valino... Sounds like you're in Italy. I'm in Germany. But I imagine the update must be coming to you soon.
I wasn't even checking for it. The OTA just POPPED up...

Spain.
Understood.
Got it yesterday in Sweden. I got feedback that the microphone audio is low anyone else experienced that ?
The most problematic thing is the dialer:
If you use a DUAL SIM option, and you would like to make a call the dialer always ask to select the SIM card for the call, there is no chance to promote or set the default SIM CARD for the desired number. I have more than 500 contact, I tried with several numbers only 1 person on my contact list where the dialer give opportinity to set the default CALLING SIM CARD for the number.
This is a piece of sh.t... I tried to figured out what is the differece for this one number... I have NO idea..
Got this update OTA yesterday

I wouldn't worry about it. They promised that EVERY X4 would get 9.0. And if all of us have gotten it in the past couple of days... then you should have it sometime before Christmas. Heh... I lived in Spain for THREE YEARS:
...you guys do things a little slower.

No. Microphone audio seems fine here. Basically there's VERY little difference between this and 8.0 for me besides the horizontal recent apps and some other UI things. I'm sure once I start optimizing my app for Pie there are bigger changes at the programming level.

I'm assuming this is the model with THREE slots for two sims AND an SD card slot? Mine just has the option for either two sims OR one sim and one SD card.
The biggest problem for me has been with the browser. A LOT of sites I frequent (such as this one) aren't working right. For example I can't even LOAD yahoo.com
I also don't like how Do Not Disturb works now. You used to be able to hold volume down to enter do not disturb and volume up to get out of it. Now you have to touch the screen. That's a pretty big step backwards. (Especially when you're in a situation where you actually NEED DND and you don't have your whole hand free and aren't in a position to LOOK at the screen.)
Don't know WHY they did that. It was working just fine.
Other than that... there doesn't seem to be any large external differences between Oreo and Pie.
I'm going to be curious to see what kind of internal differences I get to play with as a programmer on my app.
In Hungary also I got it. The only audio problem remains the same (from the first time). For the first 0.5sec audio volume is low - even if it set to max.
The other problem that the contact names disappeared after a while, seems to be solved.
Which is annoying: volume rockers are changing NOT ringer volume but media volume, which is stupid.

Good to read that the new UI gestures are working, because I saw a Lenovo forum that it was only working for the Android One version.
