Back again!
You may remember me from my SkyDragon roms/kernels and HolyDragon kernels for OP7/OP6/6T/OP3/N6/M8/M7/G3 among other devices. This is the latest sdmmagpie kernel+audio source from Google. No plans for any overclocking cpu/gpu that slowly kill your phone. No plans to upstream anything as most of the time there's either no benefit at all or it performs worse than stock. (If it was worth it, Google would have done so already). My only goal, as always, is to get the best performance *and* battery life out of our phone as possible. Kernel zip uses Anykernel3 by Osm0sis to install so no fear of losing root or ramdisk changes or anything.

Alright all, I just need some testers to flash with me and verify we're all good. As far as I can tell, everything works fine. Audio/wifi/bt/gps/etc. all work fine. Just need more people than myself to verify stability and such and we'll move from D.V.(Development Version) to R.V.(Release Version) kernel.
After that I'll work on additional fixes, tweaks, and features. Thanks and please report any findings here :good:

Good to see you and HD around again. It's been since 6T Pie for me. Got my sunfish and already in the lab with some bringups as well. Let's connect and I'll run this and share my other findings as well. (Sidenote: Just scored a 9713 PC Mark first run on stockish 200805.003 , Fajita was barely capable of pulling that consistently)

I Volunteer! Nice to see experimentation. Feedback if and when you need
Thank you

Of course this can go without saying but does not boot on Android 11 beta.... I know, just wanted to try, guess I'll flash A10 firmware so I can run this kernel.

Yes, no beta support. I'll have an 11 kernel when 11 releases. Should be like two weeks or so.

Alright everyone, kernel is just about done and ready for full release. Just want a few more people to verify this one for me.
Far as I can tell we've been 100% stable with zero issues this entire time anyways.
For the R.P.1.1 I've fixed most all the issues in the kernel, set it to performance with full LTO enabled, and have added the usual features and fixes I do on most all my kernels. This runs totally different than the D.V.1.0 release so if you tried that and were disappointed, try this one and see what you think. Will give it a day or two and if all good like I suspect, we'll go to full on Stable release.

Iv'e been using it (DV1.0) since you posted. No issues at all.

Been using R.P.1.1, love it and running great, Thank You

Alright, I think we're good enough for a full on release here. Everything works and works well. No issues or errors reported. Enjoy and let me know if you come across anything, thanks!

I'm loving KCAL support!
As a photographer I love being able to tweak my screen colors to be just right.
I flashed this through Franco's kernel app, it couldn't have been any easier.
Thanks!

Happy to help.
For the P4a I only adjusted RGB and Saturation values. Out of the box the screen was a bit too warm for me. This is not a perfect Pantone color calibration, which is often quite flat. This is just what I like for average viewing accuracy. Ymmv, as it seems Pixel phones are not all the same.
I wasn't sure what kernel app you use, since my adjustments were simple, I'll just share a screenshot.

Kernel features:
Build with custom toolchain blu_naro-7.3 (cortex-a57 targeted, build with latest Crosstool-NG from developer snapshot Linaro GCC 7.3-2018.04)
Full -O2 build with device and target flags enhanced, linaro build improvements, etc
Less is more: stockish OP3/OP3T unified builds based on OnePlusOSS/android_kernel_oneplus_msm8996
Systemless installer (doesn't touch system partition, OTA friendly - Nougat only)
Removed some debug and logging options
ARM enhanced performance and battery patches
CVE security patches, general upstream and CAF fixes
Several CPU Governors (blu_active modded own governor by default - fastlane mode available!)
No OC, set 300HZ base timer frequency
msm_performance input boost toggle on/off (enabled by default), tweaked cpu_boost driver
Enhanced TCP methods (westwood is default), Network and Wifi tweaks and updated drivers
Several I/O control tweaks, added schedulers FIOPS and ZEN v2 is default, tweaked and upstreamed filesystems (F2FS, ExFAT, NTFS & CIFS)
Removed verify and forced encryption, Set androidboot.verifiedbootstate=green
Stock thermal driver by default (custom tunables available for ROMs with no thermal daemon)
Disabled hotplug on low battery levels
Optimized crypto routines
Swap and adaptive LMK off by default, 60 apps on background by default
Vibrator Strength tunable and Gesture Haptic Feedback control (touchpanel)
KGSL fixes and reworked GPU driver (use 133MHz min freq to save juice, goes to idle @ 100MHz)
sRGB and KCAL - Advanced color control for Qualcomm MDSS v2 (RGB calibration and post-processing features)
DASH charge and USB Fast Charge (USB mode up to 900mA with MTP on)
Battery/Notification LED control
FS fsync toggle on/off
Wakelock blockers available
zx2c4's wireguard support
CDROM emulation on mass_storage (compatible with DriveDroid 0.10.36+)
init.d support (put your scripts in /system/su.d or /su.su.d [systemless SuperSU], /magisk/.core/post-fs-data.d [Magisk])
Compatible with Kernel Adiutor and others
DOWNLOAD KERNEL ZIP and RECOVERY (No mirrors please)
Warning: If you come from other kernel or have any issues, you should dirty flash your ROM before flashing blu_spark zip to avoid problems.
Reflash ROM -> if you want root flash SuperSU or Magisk (default, no plugins/modules) -> flash blu_spark.
If you are already rooted or upgrading between blu_spark versions, just flash the kernel zip. Also uninstall or clean data of any kernel control app you're using.
Builds for OP3/3T are unified (so can be flashed in both devices).
About bugs and troubleshoots: don't bother to post if a log isn't ready or without steps so the behavior can be replicated. I only active support stock OOS with NO mods whatsoever (apart from root). That includes NO support if using xposed, Magisk with modules, etc.
If you're using custom ROMs (including OOS based ones) or Open Betas you're on your own. I'm only interested on debugging stuff in stock and stable OOS.
Save the SOT and battery stats/screenshots for general threads, here we deal with development, not personal tastes and results.
Also don't spam this thread with CM or other ROMs stuff like "this don't work, my app doesn't open, etc" , no OT about OTAs, apps, ROM bugs, Recovery/TWRP troubleshoots and other userspace stuff. There's threads for it, use them.
Going back to stock: This kernel installer doesn't change your filesystem (systemless in case of Nougat). Oreo builds touch system partition.
You can backup your boot & system (Oreo) with TWRP before flashing blu_spark if you want to go back to full stock or just dirty flash your full ROM.
If you like my work, donations are always welcome.
Don't forget to hit thanks and rate the thread nicely, it's free

wow i've read a lot of good things about your previous kernel. looking forward to trying this out on my recently rooted OP3.
Thanks!!
and as an aside, it's awesome to see how much development is already going for a phone that *just* came out. awesome!!
Would love to try but I need the stock kernel to switch back.

I've been around developing for other 2 or 3 devices
nevermind, i was reading the OP wrong, it says soon for blu-active gov.
I know it's not supported but for anyone on CM13 I gave it a go. On the A3000 I didn't have WiFi or 3g/4g. Just thought I'd let anyone considering testing it what I found.
thanks for the contribution brother

no miui!!! Los/rr
still no miui until u use a beautifull dragon logo ???
Anyway good work... it's hard to compile a custom kernel to MIUI ? no search a course only time needed to create something like u, maybe with less feature...
Maybe i'll provide a miui version, but sorry, i'm zero interested in flashing any miui ROM to my mix. Means, i'll not test any miui version myself.
Enthusiasts are available to debug and report with logcat...

Hi guys,
The developer has stated so many times that he's not interested in developing anything for miui roms. So unless you want him to run away, he's got enough work to do right now. So Have mercy on his soul.
Btw, do you have any idea how hard it is to blindly develope a kernel? It's hard and frustrating.

I was wondering if it is possible? For you to make a kernel for Epic rom android 6.0 (marshmallow) for those of us who are still waiting for xposed to be released for android 7 ( nougat) and are stacked on marshmallow.

Hi. Mate although i never flashed any of Los/RR builds yet i know them; i everytime read all the comments on all pappschlumpf threads and appreciate all of his works. He used to compile one for miui rom before that we were using it, so it's not that awkward wish to expect a miui kernel from him.
We all see that he's not interested in miui, while he's doing a great job on both rom and kernel line which is incredibly awesome for anyone who picks a part. Also appreciate for your kind donations to him and excitement; quite admirable.
I personally wish such kernel on miui rom which is the secondary main reason for me to buy this device. Ps. I was using miui roms on my both previous s6e+ and Lg g3 devices. I'm like: ''Think about it.''
At the end of the day; such a great device and it's software on it but no kernel development. That is frustrating if you ask me. I'm hearing 'Learn and compile by yourself' lecture in my ears eh, but since there is such a good developer around; we just wish.
Last thing; it's not so blind developing for him, i believe. He's been there before. I know a kernel developer who owns ''a device'' and compiles his kernels for 2 different devices and 27 different variants of those devices. I don't mean anything but ''I have an idea''. So; let 'em keep their wishes since he says ''maybe''. Have a good day.

Well said.
Spammed first and last time 'to clear' something out. Sorry.

The original source is from Mi5 / nougat. IWhich means if there will be a stock version it will be for nougat!
Sorry guys, mm kernel, from my side a no. If one of you want's to do that job i could help with configs etc. But i'll not invest my rare free time to make a mm kernel.

Yes. All good so far but you'll have to flash magisk after flashing kernel.

Loving this one so far. Super stable and fasssst.

Great kernel, works stable and fast. I only have one question. When I press the FP reader, it takes some time from the vibration to the screen turning on. Is there a setting that I could change to get that to be a bit faster?
My GF has a Redmi Note 3 and the delay is shorter there. Sorry, but I'm not really advanced when it comes to tweaking kernels. Thanks!
I am on RR and failed to flash as it came up with an error.

Back again!
You may remember me from my SkyDragon kernels for N6/M8/M7/G3 among other devices, I've been off XDA for a year or so, quietly making kernels and roms for myself and personal friends. Decided to come back to show the OP3 some love under my own moniker while the team is on hiatus.
This is the kernel I use as my daily driver, I'm not really looking to add things so if you want more, please find someone/thing else. My goal here to get as much performance out of our device(s) as possible without sacrificing any battery life or stability whatsoever. No Ofast or ffast-math flags that break IEEE and math operations. No beta toolchains. I compile my own toolchains from recent stable release, build them optimizing and targeting a specific processor instead of the whole architecture, and then I use those to build my kernels that are optimized for that same processor. So this kernel is meant to be as stable stock, all the performance, and none of the loss in battery. Anyways, on with the show..
~*~*Information*~*~
Kernel supports all OP3/OP3T devices running OOS Stable 5.0.x or OpenBeta 32-3x(OP3) and 23-2x(OP3T):good:

This is my own modified build of Grarak's Kernel Adiutor app. Now unified for all my kernels.
I have added a few extras that were missing for sound control, pdesire audio, DCI_P3 mode, tbalden's kcal modificaiton, sultan's battery cycle/charge commit for msm8996, and Tanish2k09's KLapse-Livedisplay.
You may need to disable Play Protect temporarily to install, working on adding to the play store to negate this issue.
Also changed the theme, and updated some stuff.
Work in progress but needed something to fully control my kernel.
Full credits and much love to Grarak for putting in all the hard work on KernelAdiutor, wouldn't be here without his work.
My source for it is here.

Now I understand why my device was soft bricked ?
Fortunately a dirty flash of my firmware was enough, no data loss.
I'll try the new one !
---------- Post added at 12:56 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:42 AM ----------
Okay so :
- I flashed the 3.7 version and got stuck to OnePlus logo with "Powered by Android"
- I dirty flashed my ROM (BETA 29) and flashed the Kernel immediately after without rebooting and next I flashed Magisk 15 --> It booted
I'll see how the kernel run now.
Looking forward to trying this out! The name alone is pretty cool!
Hi, thank you for your effort for the kernel
Wanna ask, which apps I need to configure the kernel? Kernel Adiutor or EXKM?
Can It work on the H2OS?
Loved your work on my good 'ol M8, so I'm pretty excited to see you here. Thanks (as) always for the work!
Great to see a new kernel! Didn't see any mention about encryption or dm-verity. Does it bypass encryption and dm-verity?
Thanks
Excellent kernel it seems like solves the unbelievable, not compatible with Oreo's mobile phone game Caton problem.
By the way, what will happen if I use it on 7.1.1
Thanks a lot for the new Kernel, dude!
But, I would request you to add flar2 gestures, because in SA Region, it's kinda uneasy to use fp in winter!
came from a custom kernel on an encrypted 3T with magisk 15.2. managed to install this by first restoring stock versions of my system (system.img as opposed to just system) & boot (flashing Xennet's boot images w/ disabled dm-verity also works) backups. booted once to check everything's fine then back to recovery to flash the kernel. didn't need to reflash magisk as the system i restored from was already rooted. HTH someone who wanna try this kernel
thanks for your work, OP. will test & revert
Flashed on beta 19 but it broke wifi, i was on stock kernel before that. Any thoughts?

DESCRIPTION
Hey guys, I have started a custom Kernel based on LineageOS sources with 98% CAF. So I would like to share my own performance and usability improvements with minimal feature and enhancements on top. The intention is to have a minimal light-weight kernel that is very fine tuned for the device.
FEATURES
Minimal Kernel with a stripped defconfig base to be more streamlined and have less memory footprint
User space display color calibration (KCAL) with screen calibrated against iPhone 8 Plus, also helps reducing screen retention
Schedutil governor making use of EAS features with updates from Linux 4.4 and 4.12
Up to date with LineageOS sources for maximum compatibility and security bugfixes
Memory and cache subsystem optimizations, you will feel it
Adaptive LMK enabled by default
Transparent Hugepages are enabled
ZRAM/Swap partition is disabled by default
BFQ IO scheduler set by default to avoid slow-downs on task intensive scenarios
No overclocking was chosen to avoid unnecessary heat, optimizations were focused on other different areas
Kernel Samepage Sharing enabled with deferred timer by default to gain some memory usage optimizations, the process sleeps on regular basis and I've profiled it so that there's no battery drains due to it
Simple temperature controls for msm_thermals exposed
Compiled with GCC 6.x optimized toolchain and -O3 plus other hardware specific flags
Undervolted the Adreno 530 GPU voltage rail to keep things cooler
CAF Rebase on major portions of the Kernel has helped lower the memory footprint a lot

couple snafus
no sound probably related to the audio mods (ffs I don't know why I said eas lol)
no usb/mtp connection phone doesn't even know its plugged into a pc it will charge tho
gonna need to dump logcat to sdcard and get it from recovery
EXTREME BETA Warning here folks test and report don't expect to daily this!!
gimme some time I am still testing it lol its only been flashed 20m
I am assuming the two issues are just a driver or mal config probly can pull the needed changes from base LOS
loggie log logs long longs logging along lugging logs long ways
I think yours is the first custom kernel for lineage 15.1 for the g5. We're really lacking, so thanks for bringing your kernel over!

Let me get it working fully for 1 variant (a couple of weeks as I have to go out of town due to work), and then I will build for the LineageOS supported variants. I will need users to tell me what is and not working. Apparently this is what is not working at the moment in v0.0.1 :
Audio
USB Storage
USB Debugging
Want to hear feedback as well on v0.0.2...

Thank you. I am glad sound is working now as well. With these I've now added the H830 and H850 Kernels as well. I will be checking the USB storage / debugging when I am back in 2 weeks. If it's urgent one can boot TWRP to get out the data from the phone or use AirDroid in the mean-time.
Let me know if you guys find any other quirks!
Thank you so much for doing this. I am eager to try the H830 when you start building that version.
Also, do you plan on adding support for fast charging?
On h830, usb debugging and mtp don't work (just confirming lol) but adb over wifi does work.
Edit: After a couple of days, I haven't noticed any sort of bugs different than the stock lineage.
0.3 so far so good nothing to report really
still no mtp/usb
wishing for more sound volume but that will come in time
as a note I didn't even know 0.3 was uploaded untill I looked at the downloads tab
It boots on RR and it is working pretty fine! I didn't test mtp for I don't have a computer on my hand and usb debugging either.
But finally there is kernel available for AOSP8.1 based ROMs.Thanks for your kernel.Looking forward to your updates.
How do you install the kernal, just curious? Do I just flash it before flashing the rom, magisk, and gapps? Does it require a wipe? Thanks!

When comparing to the default kernal, can you tell there is a difference and improvement to battery life due to this kernal? I'm using RR and it's plenty fast it is, but any improvement is always appreciated.

After flashing this kernel and one day using it ,I can say that the battery life is definitely improved due to this kernel.
As for how to flash ,you just need to flash this kernel and no need to wipe anything.
Anyone else using this with any feedback on stability? Also just curious anyone have a link to the stock RS988 kernal in case I want to revert back after trying this? Thanks!

In my usage it's been at least as stable as the stock lineage kernel.
If you want to back up your current one, just do it in twrp.
no issue with stablity here
I did encounter a odd charging bug where it would only charged at 500mah after plugging it into the charger directly from the computer
but a reboot fixed it and I haven't had it happen again
I'm also experiencing a charging issue. At the moment I can only charge in recovery. Charging in the OS shows the charging battery symbol but doesn't actually charge. Other than that everything seems good
Thanks guys for the reports. Uploaded 0.4.0 to see if this hopefully fixes the charging issues as well as USB debugging and MTP not working. Let me know please

DOWNLOAD KERNEL ZIP
FKM download configs: HERE
(No mirrors please)
Setup and troubleshoot: To install just flash the zip on a stock setup with either TWRP or autoflash kernel app.
If you come from other kernel or have any issues, you should restore your stock boot.img or dirty flash your ROM before flashing blu_spark zip to avoid problems. Also uninstall or clean data of any kernel control app you're using.
If you are upgrading between blu_spark versions, just flash the kernel zip.
About bugs and reports: don't bother to post if a log isn't ready or without steps so the behavior can be replicated. I only active support stock ROM with NO mods whatsoever (apart from root). That includes NO support if using xposed, Magisk with added modules, etc.
If you're using custom ROMs (including stock based ones) you're much on your own. I'm mostly interested on debugging stuff in stock and stable ROM.
Also try not to spam the thread with OT. There's threads for all kind of stuff, use them.
Going back to stock: This kernel installer doesn't change your filesystem. You can backup your boot.img with TWRP or kernel app before flashing blu_spark if you want to go back to full stock or just dirty flash your full ROM.

Thank you for the support over the years mate.
I'm deeply grateful for all the good vibes since the early days on the N4 and the specially the fun we had on the N5. What a beast of a device.
Let's see how the Pixel run goes :highfive:
So far so good. Battery life seems to be on pace for 9hr SOT and that's even with AOD enabled which I never do just to squeeze every bit of battery life. Guess I'll report back sometime tomorrow to see how the first run goes. I know kernels usually take a few days before you can really get a benchmark. Been using your stuff since I developed on hammerhead all the way to OP6T. Missed how smooth and simple this kernel is.
