Will there ever be a lineage os or android 10 ROM for this device - Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) ROMs, Kernels, Recoveries

Just interested if there's still any ROM support for this (because even my A3 2016 got a Los 17.1 ROM).

First thing you don't ask questions in development section and nope!

Ah ok I didn't know that, sorry. Also it's a shame there probably won't be many roms for this phone

thank you I'm coming from nexus s scene , for this I have asked for custom roms..excuse for the answer ^^
no problem. I can see how you might be lost. I am on my 3rd android device, and have only had 1 ROM at most for each one. Ive learned patience.
Its just that a lot of XDA n00bs have been coming in and expecting this ROM and that ROM,etc.
what you find is here is about all available.
oh, and questions go in Q&A.
tab plus 3g is an excellent device.

Wrong section to post a question, if you take a look at the android and original android development forums theres plenty of kk roms with detailed guides and descriptions.
You mean the main 'android development' forums? not the specific Oneplus 'android development' forums?

I see, I know there is this list of ROM but I want to have a ROM suggested to me, I don't want to check them all by myself, plus, most of the ROMs there are 5.0.x or 5.1.x so that's not helping me..
So you want others do your homework?? There are tons of kk Roms in development section just read the threads and you'll get your answers.
Sent from my Crispy Bacon
So much development in that thread
I suggest trying Mahdi ROM ... BTW Wrong section to post a question. Please do in QA.

Can I install any Custom Rom on my OnePlus 7 Pro?

I'm kind of new to this, but I saw a video of ONE UI running on the OnePlus 6 and 6t, but it day that they port that Rom, will I be able to install that Rom on the OnePlus 7 Pro for example? Or install a Android Q beta Rom via TWRP without port/support? Or does it has to be ported or compatible with the device?
Theoretically you should be able to flash A/B GSIs (note that the OnePlus 6 uses A only GSIs! There's a difference! Grab the AB GSIs!). Don't expect things to work properly. It might boot. It might not.

There's a handful of ROMs available now in their respective threads here on XDA. They all have instructions on installation.
Yep, go to the Development section and study the roms. Then Flash away...

Send me your phone and I'll flash a custom ROM for you. Otherwise, do your homework. We're not here to babysit.

XDA has a "Question and Answer" thread, which was created to help each other, if you're not going to help don't even bother commenting, also, line I said, why are you on this section if you're not going to help?

ROMs are built for a specific device and can be ported and maintained. There are a few that you need to flash in TWRP as per their specific instructions and a few that you can flash in magisk. You need to research and all the information you need is usually on XDA with each ROM in the development section. If it's not there, it probably doesn't exist or is done by a Dev who does not associate with XDA. Make sure you are familiar with nandroid backup and restore, root, TWRP and all the flashing methods associated with each. The instructions are all there and Google is your friend. Most issues you may experience are already brought forth and that's what the search function is for, but if you follow the instructions, you shouldnt have any issues.

unified ROM for OnePlus 7/pro

Hi
This has recently been brought up in the 7 forums. Due to the very similar nature of the hardwear between 7/7 pro and 7 pro 5g, is it possible to create unified roms for all 7 variants? We already have a unified twrp and some unified kernels. The next logical step would be unified roms. I know this was down with the 3/3t and I believe 6/6t. What are everyones thoughts?
Thanks

Hi. Can some Devs explain whether it is technically possible to have unified roms for all 7 variants. As I said at the beginning of this thread, it was done with the oneplus 3 series and 6. We already have unified kernels and twrp for 7 and pro. Is it therefore possible with roms? Would seem the logical next step.
Thanks

Hi
Can I get an update from Devs on this very important question? Unified ROMs would seem a logical move if technically possible. This thread was posted on roms section but moved here.
I know 7 pro 5g and non pro owners keen on an answer to this. I would have thought it was more likely a 7/7pro unified rom was more possible than a 5g one, as I know they had to make board changes on the 5g due to heat issues.
Many thanks

Still no response??!!
I'd very much appreciate a unified ROM to have lineage support extended to my OnePlus 7.
think were just screwed with 5g version, looking to switch to the 7t pro instead

xXx worked on several models as it was a Magisk module. Support was recently added for the 7T. He's pretty much supporting only the 7 models now, so you're on your own for any issues with older phones.
The 5G model seems to be a world of its own, and OP has been slow with support on it. Probably because there's not much use for it yet on this side of the pond.
smh strange to see my OP3 getting official LOS17.1 before *any* official release for my OP7

How do I create a custom rom?

Hey! So I was so happy with my phone, a Huawei mate 20 lite, that has been obsolete cuz it's old. I unlocked it's bootloader, and I will install TWRP for it, but there's no custom roms like pixel experience or Lineageos for it, so I decided to take it and create a custom rom. But idk how to do it. Can anyone say me how you do it? It really means to me so much! Thanks

I'm pretty sure the whole thing is "applicable" to newer Android versions, except for some differences.
After all, both threads still get visitors who come regularly to ask about Android ROM development and for support. Especially the first one, we passed the 500th page count some time ago (the thread started in 2014!), and as of now, the last comment in the thread was made in just a few weeks back.
