Screen ghosting when scrolling? - Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite Questions & Answers

Hi guys,
Had my lite for a few days (SM-N770F/DS) and liking it a lot, although still adjusting to a few Samsung software quirks.
I'm not too impressed with the screen though even though reviews all seem to say it's good. General image quality is fine but I get some pretty bad ghosting/motion blur with text when scrolling, most noticeable when scrolling fairly slowly. White also goes a bit blueish when viewed from anything other than dead on. Anyone else have this issue? The scrolling ghosting is the most annoying. I've come from an LG G7 which I can only assume was 60hz so wasn't expecting to notice a difference. Could I have a bad screen?

[Q] Possible display defects

Hello. I've just bought a brand new Transformer, and I'd like to as a question. While my light bleeding problems are minimal, and I've been blessed with excellent battery life, I'm having a small problem with the display. My screen is plagued by evenly spaced darker/lighter vertical lines while in portrait mode (or horizontal while in landscape mode). They are very subtle, and can only be seen on a vertical background.
I can also notice dark lines moving across the white background while looking at the screen using a camera. Also a minor inconvenience, and it isn't noticeable if you don't try REALLY hard to find it.
I've searched all over the internet for info about this, but with no luck. Is this an inconvenience of the IPS panels, or a hardware defect?
Thanks in advance!

Thinking of buying the Razr HD, have some questions

I've been debating between this device and the upcoming LG Optimus G, so I'm hoping to get some of my questions answered so I can make a better decision.
#01. Speed and Performance
Generally, is the phone fast?
Do you ever notice any lag when scrolling between home screens, or launching applications?
While browsing the internet, do you ever get checker boarding while pages are loading?
How is the browsing experience? Is it fluid or laggy? A web browser's performance is a deal breaker for me.
Do games run smoothly? I know when I tried playing Scramble on some Android devices it was really laggy.
#02. Display Quality
Do you notice any pixelation due to the pentile display?
I know that on a lot of AMOLED displays, the phone tends to turn the brightness down on large areas of white. Does the Razr HD do this when there's a lot of white on a page? (makes the white look grey)
Following the previous question, do whites look bright or dull? I know AMOLED makes blacks look deep, but the white brightness is my main concern. When I had the Galaxy Nexus, the phone made whites look really grainny and grey.
#03. Music and Sound Quality
Do you notice any static or noise coming from the headphone jack when you have headphones plugged in?
How's the sound quality when using headphones?
How's the sound quality when using the speaker?
I know I'm asking a lot of questions, so any responses are greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

1) yes
2) I used to, but after rooting the phone and changing kernel governor from 'ondemand' to 'interactive' it went away.
3) no
4) I have not played any games yet
1) display seems great to me
2) I have not noticed that
3) the whites look good to me... A tad nicer than my old galaxy nexus
1) no static, but I noticed some distortion which was fixed by disabling the audio effects
2) the sound quality is awesome, although I'm using good quality sennheiser headphones and music is in FLAC format
3) the speaker is decent, but you can't expect much from such a tiny speaker.

Thx for the info, was truly helpful to me. Question for you. How have you liked \ disliked the transition from the Nexus? Verizon gave me a loaner Nexus to use until they can get me an alternate replacement for my inop Galaxy S3s... so I am just waiting for a RAZR HD to get sent out. After a few days of use, I am finding I really enjoy jellybean, but the Nexus seems a bit small. I also don't like the fact that I have to put all of my files on the internal memory. Is there anything you miss from the Nexus?
Thx, in advance.
hmmmm, Im waiting on a white droid razr hd as well from verizon to replace my gs3....Im still on the fence with the different opinions on the cell signal..some say its better some say its not....I average -112dbm on my Gs3
1. yes, aosp fast
2. first time I scroll left to the quick settings page it stutters, not lags, thats it though
3. no
4. smooth
5. words with friends and angry birds are smooth, that's all I've played
1. white text has a very very slight pixelation if you hold it about an inch from your face and really look for it
2. very sharp display, very bright and vibrant
3. Much better than the nexus
1. no
2. excellent, I have 4700 songs on my sd card, I use it heavily for music, plug in my Beats and it sounds awesome
3. as good as a phone speaker will be, much lounder than the s3 and nexus

1) Yes. So fast.
2) as mentioned, swiping to the leftmost (settings) screen stutters, but doesn't slow down. Other screen transitions are fine.
3/4) No checker effect. Chrome loads the pages very quickly and smoothly, and navigating the pages is just plain sexy.
5) the pre-loaded game (MC3) runs great, and it seems demanding.
1) In order to see pixels, I have to bring the phone so close that my eyes are crossed.
2/3) whites are beautiful and bright.
1/2) my headphones are crap so I couldn't say
3) The speaker quality is decent, but it gets so loud I have to turn it down near halfway most of the time while on speakerphone or watching something on netflix.
Only complaint with the phone thus far is camera quality, and really it isn't THAT bad...

Just picked an iPhone 6 and...

Holy bawlz is this screen bad.
SRS, first thing I noticed as soon as it booted.
How come people find this screen good? I'm not gonna say it sucks but it definitely doesn't feel top notch. Compared to the one on my Nexus 5 it looks sorta fuzzy. Now I do understand that the N5 has higher PPI, but come on now, I can see the pixels, retina my arse. And not only that, idk if it's the OS or something else but when scrolling up and down menus or notifications there's this weird motion blur effect, like it had a lower refresh rate compared to the N5. Even my good old Lumia 920 feels quicker when scrolling, it's like 50hz screen vs 60hz screen, if you're used to the latter you can't really go back without noticing.
Also scrolling in the browser is so slow it hurts. I do understand that iOS has a more controlled scrolling, but this is way too slow, WP8 style of scrolling is the sweet spot.
I also understand that maybe not many apps on the store are updated to the new res, but come on now, even the battery percentage looks blurry.
I reckon the i6 screen has better viewing angles than the N5 and has a higher max brightness, but I can't believe that Apple can get away with putting what still is a subpar panel on a 700€+ phone, and yet all the reviewers saying this screen is the best thing after sliced bread. Is this real life? Are these people blind or something?
Disclaimer: fortunately I bought this for my GF and not for me, still feel dumb for doing so doe.

Ghosting effect and rolling shutter

Did you guys notice visible ghosting effect when scrolling something? Especially with gray background screen looks very blurred. In comparing it to my pixel 2xl and s8. Very annoying.
Also, when recording something with horizontal move there is very visible rolling shutter effect.
I must say I noticed it more when I made my display warmer. Recently made my display a bit colder to match the Mate 10 Pro and now I don't see the ghosting anymore

Why is the screen a little warm (yellow tint) on the Pixel 4a

Just moved to Pixel 4a from an LCD display and I notice that the screen is a bit warm. Do others notice the same thing?

Yep. There are some options in settings related to the display (settings/display/colours where you can choose natural, boosted or adaptive which make very little difference, and in accessibility there's a promising looking rainbow under colour correction but sadly there are just a few colour-blind related presets) but nothing which would let you set the white balance manually.

Yep - which I appreciate. Obviously personal preference; native tuning options appear limited based on a bit of early experimentation.
On a related note, integrated "night light" (blue light filter) does a poor job with dark themes; throws off weird casts on light text when scrolling. I find it too distracting to use; just lower the brightness a tad more or use a 3rd party tool.
Looks good to me, where I can tell is looking at skin tones I find them very natural.
Got a picture of a beach water deep blue, sky look natural blue.
Taste maybe but it like it the way it is.
The setting mentioned my screen is on Adaptive, changing it does no effect much ??
Yes the screen is slightly yellowish and can't be changed even with the available presets. Fortunately I don't mind it personally since I prefer warmer whites compared to cold tones.
Yes, quite annoyed in warmth difference in the beginning because I was still using both 4a and my old phone actively. Searched here n there to make it cooler and also tried to make my old phone screen bit warmer to match (cause I just hate the difference not the warmer screen), but I don't like it even further with the tuning
All I can say is give it time, you'll slowly adapt to the new warmer screen
Yes I was just using a Moto One Active for a few weeks, which has a surprisingly decent LCD screen with perfect whites, and now that I'm back to using a Pixel 4a again I'm noticing that yellowish tint. Also had the galaxy s20 FE somewhere in between , which was obviously superior to both lol.
