I managed to get it working with our Phillips, but the phone reports the TV isn't optimized for the best performance.
It took several tries getting it to connect.
Try smartview and see if it'll mirror that way.

hello, thanks for information. no problem with smartview. but the tv was not found when using Dex.

think i may be having the same model but one generation later. i do a search, Sony is saying the screen mirroring feature from the input source menu was using miracast.

oh manage to get it to work. need to go to the screen mirroring source input (stay on the page) on the Sony TV before turning on Dex. it will then find the connection and then you choose to connect.

[Q] Custom JB rom with Miracast support for TF101?

Is there any custom roms with Miracast support for TF101? Is it stable enough to everyday use (I hope at least these are working: camera, mic, dock, gps)? Have you tried yet that Miracast thing?
Thanks,

Is there Miracast support for this rom? At least it is 4.2 version of Android that should contain that Miracast thing.
Is there 4.2 version of CyanogenMod 10 available for TF101?

I just try to find some answers before I will choose one for test round. I think I will buy "Netgear PTV3000 Push2TV HD" and connect it to my TV. So any comments about Miracast are mostly welcome!
If you dont know what is Miracast
Miracast is a peer-to-peer wireless screencast standard created by the Wi-Fi Alliance. Billed as an open alternative to Apple's AirPlay Mirroring, it allows users to, for example, echo display from a phone made by Company A onto a TV made by Company B, share a laptop screen with the conference room projector in real-time, and watch live programs from a home cable box on a tablet. Miracast connections are formed via Wi-Fi Direct, which allows direct Wi-Fi connections in a similar manner to bluetooth.Miracast only works over Wi-Fi. It cannot be used to stream to a router access point.
On 29 October 2012, Google announced that Android version 4.2 (updated version of Jelly Bean) will support the Miracast wireless display standard, and by default will have integrated features for it. As of January 8, 2013, the Nexus 4, Sony Xperia Z, ZL, T and V officially support the function.

After reading a little about it, it seems you need to be certified to use it, and the TF101 isn't in the list. Funny though that people report the Nexus 7 has having it but it's not listed there... So maybe you don't actually need to be certified... or maybe Google just didn't feel like listing themselves on there.
I can also confirm that the ROM in my sig (EOS4 - 4.2 JB MR1) does not have any extra options in the display settings. So unless the option is hidden elsewhere, I think it's safe to assume it's not there at all.

Thanks for the information.
Following HowTo is based of this ROM --> [ROM][WiP] Android 4.2 on TF101 | v0.8.0 XMAS | 4.2 GAPPS"
How To Install CM10.1 Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean on TF101 ASUS Eee Pad Transformer

That HowTo mentions about Miracast support but I'm not sure anymore is it just some Android 4.2.1 copy/paste information. If anyone use that ROM could you check is there any Miracast settings available?
I'd also like to get an answer for this if anyone has already tested these roms.
thx.
if we can'tget miracast, there's an app named MirrorOp
give it a try. not bad...
One discussion about why Miracast isn't enabled in the custom roms?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=37226818
I understand that there could be some problems when TF101 use 2.4 ghz wifi and it lack 1080p resolution. But I think it all just speculation until some one enable that Miracast code and test it. We don't have any word from our Rom developers about this Miracast thing. They should actually enable it, take a look the code and test it. It would be nice feature to listen Spotify using your TV with Hifi amplifier or just watch movies with lower 720p hd resolution if that is possible with our tablet.
I wouldn't be surprised if it was proprietary code put into android that us mortals won't have access to.

Hello together.
Are there any news regarding an Android 4.2.2 Custom Rom for the TF101 with Miracast support.
I have a new LG TV Model 47LA7408 and I would like to use the second screen feature to stream the tv programm to my Tablet. But this requires Android 4.2.2 with Miracast.
Thank you for replies.
There are only a VERY FEW Android devices that support Miracast. ALL of these devices have 5 GHz radios, as do the TV's that support Miracast as well.
It is safe to say that the TF101 will not ever support Miracast.
Best option that I have found is to use an app that can connect to a DLNA server/player to play movies/videos from my tablet and put them on the TV.
Either that or get an HDMI cable and plug that in to your tablet to put the picture on the screen.

Hmm...
It can be done if you use a slingbox. But that can be a bit expensive...

My TV has a feature called second TV/ Second Screen. This gives the user the possibility to stream the tv signal to the LG remote APP on the users android. But this feature requires Android 4.2.2 and Miracast.

Then you will need a Miracast certified device: http://certifications.wi-fi.org/sea...ate_to=&selected_certifications[]=67&x=37&y=8
Miracast uses 5 GHz, which the TF101 does not have. To use this feature on the TF101 you would need to add a 5GHz radio and get it functioning (driver) and then see about enabling Miracast in the ROM.
I would love to have Miracast support on my TF101, but I do realize that it is 2 year old hardware and it is not supported or practical at this point.
Hi guys
You doesn't need any of the patches or 3rd party apps.
You just need to follow these steps in order to use cast screen in custom roms:
1. Just enable wifi 'on'
2.Open cast & it shows all available devices:fingers-crossed:

[Q] Setting up my old pc to screen mirror on sony 3d tv

We just purchased a sony 3d tv.
It is amazing and all but i was surprised that there's no dvi port so i can plug my old pc in it and use xbmc for hom streaming.
Today i saw there's a screen mirroring function.
I was wondering how i can use it to stream from pc to the tv by mirroring the screen.
But i read that it's only for sony phones and tablets.
I directly thought about android x86 on pc. But can someone tell me how i can make it show up as a sony device?
like maybe mess with the built to make it look like a sony tablet for example.
Thx in advance!

[Q] Is Miracast, WiFi Direct support finnaly sorted out by Sony?

HI guys,
can anyone confirm with (picture if possible) weather Sony fixed Miracast (Screenshare) feature ? (that does not work on my XZ) With which device did you test screen sharing?
I am looking into buying XZ3 but what I really want is phone that is capable of connecting to minix n7 box and sharing its screen on TV, so I can view phone images on TV screen and play games . Has anyone tested that with minix n7 and can confirm working?
Tnx!

I know MiraCast is working fine with my LG TVs and my Z3. Not sure what a "minix n7" is.

So regular LG Smart TV and Z3 screen share works for you? That is good.
Minix is Android box that you connect to TV. It is running XBMC software with a lot of plugins available with which you can do whatever you can think of (streaming, torrents, games, attached storage, ...)
http://kodi.tv/about/
http://www.minix.com.hk/Products/MINIX-NEOSeries.htm
I can miracast onto my WDTV Live. I could do the same without any issues with my Z2 as well.
Can't comment on the Miracast part, but my Z3C connects nicely to a Z2 via WiFi-direct.
My Z3 works great with my LG WebOS tv. It can access the internet over wifi and hsdpa when my Xperia Z couldn't do screen sharing and internet at the same time.
All is well here as well.

Android TV (Sony Bravia) Webcam support

Hi Guys,
so i bought an Android TV a while ago (Sony Bravia KDL-50W805C) and im quite happy with it.
Now i would like to be using Skype, which unfortunately isnt officially supported. I installed the regular Skype APK manually and the App itself works very well. I then bought a UVC-compatible Webcam which doesnt seem to work properly with any app i tried on TV.
Using Skype, i can establish a connection and the webcam is turned on (can tell from the LED flashing) and the webcams microphone is also working. However, no image is coming. Im guessing its some access restriction. I dont see any technical reason why this would not work.
The Chipset of my TV is some Mediatek ... i can tell you better if this should be of importance. Maybe anyone here is able to help me out or point me in the right direction.
Thanks already!
Same issue here, but maby on something
Hey
I have the same issue as Idle_King, but i have begin to do some research. My tv is a sony bravia w80c and I use a logitech c920 as webcamera.
I installed/side loaded skype from my sony experia z3+ with Ez file explorer. Then i relized that the camera and mic dident work,
My first tought was that the webcam dident support otg, so i insertered my otg cable in my z3+ and connected the camera... Nothing happend
The otg camera app found nothing.
After a bit of investigation i found that is a function that need you to identify the usb device, so when I done that, it showd up in the app, so now I know that the camera works like a otg device
I sideloaded the same app to my bravia tv, and it is the same issue here, so i sideloaded an other app (easy otg checker). Maked a search for otg devices and it found my conected webcamera.
So i think that sony must have some sort of usb identify filter that denies the camera to start/connect. So where should i begin to search? Or is it someone that have a solution to this problem?

Hi. looking for the whole forum I came for someone to help me with the same problem but I see that nobody has been able to solve it. I have a samsung smart tv and I can not connect it with Skype. If there is someone who knows the solution, I ask you to help me please.

i am using cam of older bravia cam to new bravia (android) ...didnt work1
Don't know if it helps.
BUT
I successfully use a camera called Canyon CNR-WCAM513G1 (1.)
with WhatsApp on a userless Android X86 running on a VM in order to scan QR codes from WhatsAppDesktop
This VM is a device that has WhatsApp Android app installed and connected 24/7 to the internet, so I can use WhatsAppDesktop on all paired computers without messing around with my phone
Good that I do not use WhatsApp at all, maybe now I start using it, lets see. Side effect the picture that is transferred to the main camera of Android on the X86 is mirrored horizontally
Further I found this: The homepage of app Webeecam has the inofficial most complete compatibility list of webcams running on Android:

Question How to share screen without chromecast?

I would like to know how to share the pixel screen with a smartTV or wireless monitor without the need to use a chromecast.
Doesn't show up as video input when using an HDMI/USB C cable.
Any method or solution for this?
With root it is possible?
Thanks
For screen mirroring there's really no solution. Google gimps the phone in ways that are iphone like. One option you could try is do a hard reset of the phone and then trade it in for a Samsung. That tends to work.
It's sad. $100 smartphones can do it with no problem. Google's strategy at this point does not seem correct to me.
Screencast works fine, except the crappy resolution

Google removed miracast when they released Marshmallow so what's that, 6 or 7 years ago. Anything Android that has been able to do use it since then has been implemented by the manufacturer so you are stuck with Chromecast or DIAL if you want decent quality.
I project what i stream or play from my pixel to my tv via dlna. I use the app Web Video Cast | Browser to TV.
