I think most of the devs go on on most popular and most device that owner have... Me i am waiting to have more development on the recovery and rooting...

if you are after recovery theres an unofficial twrp by alex msk but flash it at your own risk and as for rooting, it can be done without custom recovery through magisk as long as you have unlocked bootloader. for custom roms, only GSI are available and expect it to have bugs.

Will Xiaomi provide VoLTE support in the upcomming MIUI9 update?

I heard Xiaomi will be providing MIUI9 update by the start of next year.
So, is there a possibility VoLTE support will be added to mi4i with the update?
Don't expect anything from useless Xiaomi.
I'd suggest don't buy Xiaomi product in future.

I have always bought mi / redmi phones due to availability of good specs in lower price range. AFA MIUI is concerned. I had wiped Redmi 1S , Redmi Note 4G and Redmi4i without booting in MIUI for a single time.
Unboxed. flash and boot recovery. Flash stable CM.
Lucky patcher, Titamium and Xposed bundle had made these phones bearable. and Most importantly the developers who have made God tier. custom ROMs.

Port Kernel Nougat To Oreo

Hi why developers not port Kernel Nougat to Oreo? Why wait for xiaomi? Xiaomi is slow
Example Redmi note 3 pro have official Kernel Android Nougat Only And Have Rom in 8.1
the developers want to wait for xioami so it becomes easier for them?
I know that if the kernel is ported to Oreo everything will not work but everything can be fixed

Porting kernel from Nougat to Oreo, is a hard work that needs much time... I hope developers will finish porting in next 3 weeks

if it is difficult and it takes time but it is better to wait 3 weeks or months for xiaomi to release the kernel?

Yes, because when Xiaomi released kernel for Nougat there were many bugs in stock kernel.

"Developers want to wait for Xiaomi so it becomes easier for them"? Please open your eyes, & go through GitHub sometimes. Satya has already achieved a bootable kernel for Oreo. And even my LOS15.1 trees are uploaded, which even though doesn't boot at the moment, but at least it goes into boot animation, & stays there. Many developers are working on the logs & trying to improve it.
If you don't want to help us, it's fine. But don't put allegations without knowing.
Why do you think xiaomi will release oreo kernel? Has they ever release more than the initially released? I don't think so, will not happen for the first time with this device

Considering how terrible are most of the current device trees for tissot, it's not the best advice for a newbie to look at them

Why dont you do it then? Don't be so demanding, devs here do it for free, just patiently observe and wait for releases
The question is inappropriate, if you're not a developer at least you should know what kernel is, you cannot simply fixed every problem.

Rooting MIUI on Redmi 6?

Hi everybody!
My Redmi 6 w/ China ROM is coming in a few weeks - I have a few questions because I'm so excited!
My understanding is that even the official TWRP has many bugs, but will it still allow me to root MIUI 10? Seems that Xiaomi.eu is even having issues with the Redmi 6 and I can't even install that. So I'm only left with Rooting MIUI 10.
I have scoured the internet but found no sources. Can TWRP at least flash Magisk to MIUI official Stable? Surely there is aw ay to root MIUI
You can try this recovery.
It has magisk built into it.
So you can flash it from there.

Multi Roms

Is there any method to install mutiple roms as we used to do in legacy devices like Redmi 3s Prime ?

Don't expect anything soon, we still haven't received proper official support for a lot of Custom ROMs, Lineage OS isn't official for our device yet.. Plus all these issues faced by decryption, unmaintained Official TWRP etc, hamper the development of dual boot :-\

Which Xiaomi phone is currently best for rooting and custom roms?

Hey, Which Xiaomi phone Rs10000 ($150) is currently best for rooting and custom roms? I'm talking ease for unlocking the bootloader, rooting and availability of custom roms. Or perhaps it's not Xiaomi phones that are most hackable at the moment?
IMHO and experience, avoid the Redmi Note 9 S/Pro/etc (aka Curtana/Joyeuse/Excalibur/etc).
No LineageOS official support, and the unofficial ones come and go every few months and all have bugs.
The Redmi Note 7 aka lavender, OTOH, has pretty decent hardware and has official LineageOS. Rooting is working great with Magisk, haven't tried other ROMs but I think they would work pretty well too.
