Me 2!

Just got May 1st one
1980-3 amazon variant here and I just got the May 1st security patch. QPFS30.130-15-11-3 is the build number for my phone. Yeah with an S. QPFS

Yeeeaaahhh, May security patch is downloading! I manually checked for updates just to see what will happen and then it popped up...

Almost in August and motorola send to us the May Security patch, why allways the patches goes with two months delay?????

Got July Security Patch this night. I am with retail version.

Received 2 updates in a month, 1st update was for April security patch and then last night (August 6th) was July security patch. My is retail version.

I eventually update mine to Android 10
It's July patch

I have gotten the July 1, 2020 security patch. I can't recall if it was last week or the week before that, or even before that. I just know that I haven't had an issue with not getting the updates. My phone was purchased unlocked directly from Motorola, so I don't know how much that has to do with it.

Any Verizon Pixel 2 out there received Jan 18 Update?

It is my second month in using this Verizon Pixel 2. I am not using it in the US but rather had a friend bought it from Google Store and had someone brought overseas.
My Pixel 2 doesn't seem to receive the Jan 18 update yet. However, I have heard that despite being Verizon's phone, it still receives OTA directly from Google. Do Verizon's Pixel phones usually receive OTA update later than normal (unlocked) phones? Is there any Verizon's Pixel 2 out there already received Jan 18 update?
Please share. Thank you.
I have a VZW Pixel 2 XL and haven't received the January 2018 update yet. I know there were talks that the "check for updates" button really doesn't do anything right now because a previous update broke it.

Not yet, but you can always flash a kernel with it or sideload.
Not yet. Non-Verizon Pixel 2 with Verizon SIM.
I received the January 5 patch on January 4. Go figure.
I received the update notification on the 5th. Didn't install because I'm rooted.
I got my 5 January security update (presumably the fix for the processor exploit drama) OTA...I did have to get the phone to request the update manually (from Settings), but it found it right away and installed. I'm on Verizon and live in Hawaii...I heard that sometimes location matters. It took a few days for me to get the Android 8.1 update.
Thanks for all the replies.
As of writing this reply, my Pixel 2 still saying that the device is up to date.
For sideloading, I went to Google Developers website and saw 2 variants of Jan 2018 OTA patches.
- 8.1.0 (OPM1.171019.013, Jan 2018)
- 8.1.0 (OPM1.171019.014, Jan 2018, O2/UK only)
which one of these is for Verizon Pixel? I'm not sure because for Sep and Nov patches there are dedicated links for Verizon variant e.g. 8.0.0 (OPD3.170816.023, Nov 2017, Verizon) However, as I went to VZW's website at https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/google-pixel-2-update/ it says that its Jan 2018 patch is now live and the version number is OPM1.171019.013
If so, can I just sideload the 8.1.0 (OPM1.171019.013, Jan 2018) OTA patch? Does Pixel have some kind of fool-proofing to protect itself from flashing the wrong patch?
Thanks!

I just flashed the factory image for 8.1.0 (OPM1.171019.013, Jan 2018) and I'm on Verizon with the phone bought at the Verizon store and an unlocked bootloader. So I think it's safe to say that this is the Verizon version of the patch.

Page one of that thread, my link isn't working right.
Thank you all. I have successfully sideloaded the image 8.1.0 (OPM1.171019.013, Jan 2018) on my VZW Pixel 2. I'm not in the US and never used my Pixel 2 to connect to Verizon's network. I bought VZW version of Pixel 2 just because I like the blue unit. I don't know if I will have to sideload the patch every month from now on.
I have a Verizon Pixel 2 (bought in the Google's pop-up shop in NYC), I'm actually living in Europe, using a different carrier, and I didn't received the Jan 18 update yet.
Usually Verizon phones receive updates later. 8.1 December update was released on December 5th, and I received it like 1 week later

Thanks for the info. I will wait until I get the update next month to see how late the patch would come in February.

MiA1 updates temporally suspended

Hello everybody
After some research I found an "oficial" updates announcement by a Moderator in the MI forums, this mentions that the updates will resume once they fix some other bugs that have encounter.
This is a today (2018/01/24) post, so maybe the update will rollout again in the february security patch.
Be patient, you don't want a buggy device.
------------------------------
UPDATE 2018/01/25
It seems that Xiaomi restore the updates, but in the MIUI forums there are people reciving two different roms, one of 1112 Mb including the January security patch and others with the normal 1084 Mb with the december security patch for then update with the 89Mb january security patch.
Thanks for sharing

I checked for the updates and I got the Jan patch.
Got the update, oreo and jan SP, india.
Working flawlessly.
I am posting a blind guess, people can try this.
I called mi india customer care @1800 103 6286 and told i did not receive the update yet, they asked for my city and email, my guess is that they pushed update specifically for my A1.

Security Patch Update

Is anyone else disappointed that the security patch updates are taking so long to be released. . We're 3 months behind now.

Cheers
No update for CID 060 yet
Got a new update today, Taiwan version
Software number 1.24.709.7
Android security patch still Dec.1 2017
Didn't specify what is new in patch note
Has anyone tried to contact HTC? I'm very disappointed with the security updates. I thought that HTC was going to be better than LG

latest firmware in MHA-AL00

I haven't received any update since Jan 2018, latest FW version I have is 8.0.0.342, wonder if anyone here has similar or different version and what he did to install it. I'm not rooted yet.
I'm living in China, and I'm still on 8.0.0.342 as well. I check my phone for updates on a daily basis, because I'm sure there must be an imminent update
good to know, wonder what happened to every quarter updates as Huawei was doing last year
8.0.0.354(C00) is now available OTA, it contains the March 2018 security patches

I'm running a A-530F, H3G CSC variant on the 3 UK network and haven't received the November 2018 patch yet. I got the October 2018 security patch on the 18th October and from previous patch cycles I expect the November patch to arrive early to mid December. As a side note the October patch seemed to have improved performance compared to the September 2018 patch.

Though I think part of the slowdown in my case is the update being built for a carrier variant, this November 2018 update has come out late this month (from Sammobile, it looks like the A8 security patch was released last week https://www.sammobile.com/2018/11/23/galaxy-a5-2017-a8-2018-november-security-update/ ) Would I like it to be quicker? Of course, though the A8 is one of the few remaining non-S or non-Note Samsung devices to get monthly security patches. https://security.samsungmobile.com/workScope.smsb

Yeah, I've not seen any info regarding the W or N models. Looking at the release patch cycle for previous security patches, the A530W XAC looks to be overdue for its November update, given most updates were deployed around the middle of that associated and respective month https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-a8/SM-A530W/XAC/

I have SM-A530F. Can I copi OEM file in /device, save it on SD Card and after install new wersion replace OEM file with OEM Unlock?
I can't replace file without root. Before install new wersion of Android I maked Backup Android with TWRP, but I can't restore Android without TWRP, and I can't install TWRP without Oem Unlock. Everything spins in the circle.
I got the October update on the 26/10, 2 days later i received the November update.
November update is now out for A530W
But not out for some carriers like freedom mobile
On the November update SM-A530F, I was waiting 191 hours for OEM Unlock and nothing. The battery was running fast, so I returned to the October update and I'm waiting for OEM Unlock. On the October update, battery is O.K.

Hmm, maybe it's one of Sammy's tricks into getting either the s9 or the new a8s ?
