Dual Speaker mod help - Xiaomi Poco F2 Pro (Redmi K30 Pro) Questions & Ans

Last days I was trying to do a dual speaker magisk module for this device but no luck yet, im not very experienced programmer, only an advanced user and basic programmer skills. Some help would be very appreciated or if you want try it with me. I was using these sources as base files/info to start:
K30 Pro mixer files:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/15mQ5EOy1RdZVNEzfS5wiIBLxUrKHN_Gs/view?usp=sharing
Mi 10 Pro mixer files (only Xiaomi device with dual stereo audio):
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1wYro7lwfn1agt_fBvM5ljuANHCIZZoa9/view?usp=sharing
K20 Pro dual speaker mod source code:
https://github.com/acervenky/k20produal
DualSpeaker sound mod guide for all devices:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/mod-dual-speaker-soundmod-devices-root-t3735280
Mixer files are device audio configuration (codecs, earpieces, headphones, speakers) and we need modify it, these files are located in system/vendor/etc folder under root.

If nobody does it this week, I will give it a go next week.

I wonder if we can port dual speakers config files from new K30 Ultra and get dual speakers sound on K30 Pro, same with dtbo.img with 120hz panel settings from K30 Ultra and port it here also.

If it's enabled it's an earpiece not a speaker. You can test it yourself with some apps to route the audio to the earpiece and you'll see (or hear I guess) how low the volume is and it can't be used as a stereo speaker. Not to mention the possibility of damaging it.
With every device launched these threads get created for no useful purpose.

With every device launched, many of them get magisk module support to enable dual speakers as Mi 9T Pro:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/k20-pro/themes/magisk-dual-speaker-mod-redmi-k20-pro-t3952416
And Mi 9T Pro/ k20 Pro and K30 Pro are similar devices and it can be done here also... so this thread have a purpose, stop blaming without a reason.

It's to weak.

I did some modifications to mixer_paths.xml file, but system was stucked at MIUI logo. Tested on Global ROM and Xiaomi.eu. Wherever you do, you will get this problem and you couldn't test your modified file because of this. At the slightest change of this file you will get only MIUI logo. System doesn't like changes. So, waiting for custom ROMs, where we can easily change system files.

Sure but with 9t pro it helped a lot to have dual speaker mod. Sure it didn't have the same levels but it helped with directionality etc.

For this phone is missing dual speakers and refresh rate at 120hz, also is a crazy phone!!
This two point can be resolve by the software?
I am on android beta 11!
Thanks

Reading your comment from google cam thread saying bs comments like "newer is not better" when everybody with a minimal knowledge knows newer hardware is always better I see you are another troll as @Linuxkek... problem here is we dont have development compared to poco f1 or oneplus devices but dual speaker can be done by software and same with refresh rate on the screen like the Mi 9t Pro.

100% doable since my POCO already bugs out and does it anyway destroying my earpiece with an earrape effect

newer hardware may be better on paper, but unless the software is cooked well to provide you with any meaningful benefit, it ain't better, calling people trolls because you disagree due to blatant lack of knowledge and emotional intelligence will get you places

@dhaern
Are you still investigating this issue? Quite interesting...

USB DAC on 4.3

I just flashed my Nexus 4 to the latest CM 10.2 Nightly and while I was setting it up, I noticed in DSP Manager that there is an option for USB/Dock.

This caused me to do a little research and I found that the 4.3 update included support for USB audio docks. I am wondering if now I can use a Fiio e17 or other USB DAC with my Nexus for ALL phone audio and not just that from the USB Audio Recorder PRO app. Anyone have a USB DAC they can try it out on?

I have an old Fiio E5 and have seriously considered upgrading to either an E07K or E17. If it works with the N4, that would seal the deal for sure! We need someone to test this

No answer yet. I keep thinking about getting something to test it out. If I ever do, I'll post my findings here for sure
I could test it out, I got a FiiO E07K USB DAC. But I'm really busy with a lot of family issues, so I'm kinda interested to see if it works or not. Just I don't have time to try it out.

Tested it, I can tell you this much. It doesn't work out of the box, I have AOSPA 4.3 on my Nexus 4, by default nothing happens. Also the fact that nexus 4 doesn't do USB OTG by default. I also tested it on my tablet, the Motorola XOOM MZ601, with TeamEOS 4.2.2 ROM also doesn't work out of the box even with OTG support. Probably needs audio drivers.

PA doesn't use DSP manager though, right? This probably means it still wouldn't work on CM with DSP manager, but I wasn't sure if CM possibly implemented the right drivers, or if DSP manager just shows this by default for all devices (probably more likely). Thanks for getting back though man

It could possibly work with the Nexus 4, though it's pretty stupid, you need to supply your own power even though the DAC has it's own power.

I just registered to reply to this as I came across the Doogee DG350 on focal price today and have bought one, after doing a Google search for reviews etc I came across your post. The 4.7 720p screen with the MTK6582 quad core and 1GB is what sets this apart from other handsets at this price, otherwise you would have to sacrifice resolution, screen size or CPU cores. Can't wait for it to arrive, even more so can't wait to see if you can manage to root it and try out some custom FW :good:
Doogee DG350, Doogee DG650 and Doogee DG2014 is a very good phone. http://www.doogeemobile.com/ This is DOOGEE Mobile official site?

yeah the touchscreen works fine, except I've noticed that when taking photos using the stock camera app that the onscreen shutter button only appears to work with a certain section of the button and if pressed elsewhere on the button it does not work (hence appearing to look like lag on the bottom part of the touchscreen), IMO this is not a problem with the touchscreen but with the camera app itself and hopefully future updates will fix this or you could use the volume button as the shutter or use a different camera app entirely though I havent tried any other camera apps as I just got used to pressing the shutter button in the right location or just used the volume button.
EDIT: the battery life seems to be fine so far however only been using for 3 days and today since the morning till now (9pm) the battery has gone done to 66% after some light use during the morning and wifi use (downloading GPS maps ~400mb) in the afternoon.
Hope this clears things up or maybe even made you even more confused
Good luck
Thank you for your review, I also thought that the lag was from the stock camera app and not the hardware- so I recommend to use the great Lenovo Super Camera:

Hi,
Thanks for the app suggestion, will try it as soon as I get time to
Also I'm wondering if anyone has started to develop custom roms for the Doogee DG350 (or Umi X1 Pro) because that would be awesome as I'm keen to see if Kitkat would work on this. Realistically I guess I would have to wait for a larger user base before anyone would start developing custom roms but its worth a shot
Thanks,

Hi Arielbgb,
I don't really have any experience with the Newman N2 but just checking the pandawill site specs, the phone appears to be have better specs (better back camera, 8gb rom compared with 4gb, etc) than the DG350 but if you do believe the Newman N2 might have problems you should probably ask the Pandawill site what their returns policy is just incase something goes wrong, the DG350 might have problems as well its pretty early on from release so you can't really tell till sometime has passed.
Also the Newman N2 appears to have better community dev support with some custom roms already available. Overall what type of phone you want is down to personal preference and if the N2 doesnt have any problems it looks like the better phone IMO but I guess the DG350 looks more stylistic however the N2 probably has cases that will improve the look, I probably would have got the N2 phone too if I had known about it before I purchased my DG350.
Hope this helps somewhat and goodluck with whatever phone you choose
EDIT: I haven't come across any other problems with my DG350

I ordered this device and I am waiting yet. However, I was talking with other Doogee Dg350 users and:
No GPS problem if you root it and use mtkdroidtools.
Camera issue is known by Doogee and they are working on it to fix it.
Touchscreen seems to work better with another launcher as Nova, but the problem is still there. In addition, when the device is on a table, bottom touch doest not work properly.
There is a video issue. Every 8-10 seconds, the video has a strange behaviour. Something like black frames or similar.
Youtube video has lag. It is a "hardware decode" issue. If you install another app that allows you to change to "software decode", the problem is solved. For instance, Viral Youtube or MXPlayer.
Anyway, these all problems were sent to Doogee technical service.
Doogee from last year began to develop mobile phone, the quality of the mobile phone will have certain problems.

Thanks for the list of problems Mabil, I can confirm the video blackscreen issue and the youtube issue doesnt seem to be very apparent when using the official youtube app however using the browser version there is evident lag. So far I havent ran into any problems with the touchscreen itself, it maybe for some users only.
Also I'm wondering if there is any dedicated forum to the Doogee DG350/Umi X1 Pro or where you were talking to other DG350 users?
I would make sure that the GPS works on the N2, had the biggest disappointment with my newly bought K18.
After trying to contact Newman several times with no success I decided that I am done with them.
Worst GPS ever, I also ordered the Doodgee DG350, cant wait for it to arrive.
Its very similar to the Inew V3. So far I only read good stuff about it aaaaaand GPS works fine es well.
thanks for the help :]
I also read that the gps on newman n2 working very bad.
so I think i choose dg350 :] r u sure that the gps working well? maybe any screenshots on "gps test" from some1 who have it?

Hi,
Here are two screenshots from the GPS Test app.

[Mod] SURROUND SOUND [Mod]

WHAT IT IS...
This mod will activate your handset speaker to work at the same time as your main speaker while playing music, watching videos, movies, when phone rings, etc....not as good as the 6's duall front speakers but better then 1...I called it surround sound because when i made this originally the phone i used had a rear speaker and with this mod the sound kind of surrounds the phone. Obviously it isnt real surround sound but nonetheless sounds great.
DISCLAIMER...
I am not responsible in any way for anything that happens to your device whether manually installing the files or flashing zip files for the surround sound mod. You do so at your own risk. Many have tested this on their 5x phone and it works great. Enjoy
INSTALLATION...
You can install a couple different ways including extracting the files included in the zip and manually pushing them to system/etc, set permissions to rw r r, and reboot or just flash the included zips in your custom recovery?...
CREDITS...
Dwitherell _ for original flashable zip used in all my sound mods and for just being awesome. Thanks buddy...
Stu5797 _ for supplying the original 5x files and back and forth testing my experiments...Thanks man...
IDKsomuch _ for starting the thread which spiked the interest in this mod for the 5x. Thanks

Volume
If your looking to leave the stock configuration of just the one main speaker, but would like to raise the volume, please refer to the picture below for the location of the value that needs to be adjusted. As i do not have the phone yet, i can't test to see how high you can go but from my past experiences on various phones 90 is about the maximum before distortion starts and sometimes even issues like reboots, freezes, etc can happen if you go too high or below the stock value of 84.
Thanks @reddv1 for testing it and posting his experience here:

CHANGING VOLUME WITH SURROUND MOD
Refer to pick below. The setup is a bit different then the stock setup above...
Surround mod flashed perfectly and is working perfectly. many thanks!
Working great. Thanks for this.
Awesome thanks for testing guys. ..
I booted the TWRP Image from fastboot and installed both zips using the ADB Sideload command without any issue.
Steps Followed:
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot boot twrp-2.8.7.2-bullhead.img
adb sideload Nexus_5x_Surround.zip
adb reboot
Sidenote: Do we have any specifications on the top speaker? I.E. Is it the same or different than the lower speaker. Just curious.
Thanks for the mod @sshafranko. You added a feature that I thought I would miss out on by not having the 6P.
Working perfectly on pure nexus ROM and elementalx kernel. Thanks for this mod
Works great on stock rom/kernel. Thanks!

The two speakers are completely different unfortunately but need to be. One is an internal speaker wchich is the handset and you need to put your ear up to it to hear and the other is an external, made so that you can hear it while away from the phone. I did raise the volume on the headset speaker a couple notches more then the main speaker so that the main doesnt overwhelm the headset speaker to the point that you cant hear it.
This mod just brought life to my Nexus 5X's sound! I was very skeptical at first, but when I installed it the stereo feeling was unbelievably strong given the fact that it comes off a headset speaker! Thank you so much!

Yes...the revert is if you want to go back yo stock configuration with single speaker. Not sure why you would want to tho unless returning the phone? This is like TBO apps...once you try its hard to go without it...
Anyone try with viper yet? Sounds awesome on my Note 5
Will this damage the speaker? Especially long term? Thanks

Honestly i dont know. It depends on the quality of speaker LG used. What i do know is that i have been using this mod on all my phones without any issue yet and the oldest one is almost two years old on my Note 3 which i have the volume turned up a lot more then this and no problems yet.
So i would say no but i cant be sure. On another note the speaker is not hard to change at all if it does get damaged and usually is pretty cheap ranging from $6 to $15 depending on phone. Im not sure of the exact price for the 5x but ill take a look.

Zenfone 3 (ZE520KL) simple unboxing and testing

Original post from my blog: https://www.ewjy.pw/asus-zf3-unboxing-en/
Actually, some of the photos were retaken afterwards.
I bought a Asus Zenfone 3 as the new main phone several days before, the model number is ZE520KL. I was very nervous because that was the first unboxing I had ever did. The original video was cancelled due to technical problems and I used pictures instead. Alright, here are the appearances:

Time counting for the first booting:
25 seconds and 7 microseconds in total
The pictures were too many so you may visit here to view all the pictures for setting up this phone.
ZenUI home screen
Comparison of the old and new main phones (I was forced to change due to upturned screen and broken ear proximity sensor, etc.)
Performance of displaying picture
For music player, it is Google Play Music by default.
Playing tests for low and high resolution videos
480p
1080p
Photo taking tests
Without HDR
With HDR and exposure value set to -2
Lock screen
A final screenshot, did you find something weird? I am not sure whether it is a bug or it is true.
The responding speed of fingerprint module is quite fast, about 1(+/-1)s. In my opinion, it is quite cost-effective.
This is the first unboxing and testing of mine, there are many mistakes, I apologize for that.

Erm the ASUS websites worked well here for both Taiwan site and the global one. The camera is quite good for me as I'm not a professional photographer, you may view the photos I've taken in my original post for references.

Oops I might be misunderstood. After double checking, I found that ZE552KL has two versions with 3/4GB RAM+32/64GB ROM. The main difference between 520KL and 552KL is the screen size (5.2" for 520 and 5.5" for 552). Sorry for misleading you.

The battery is small, too in ZE552KL. It's good to know that 5.5 variant has 3GB variant, I was dying to get that confirmation. Let's hope asus launch that one too on 17th in India.
It's this one http://store.asus.com/tw/item/201607AM070000812 I picked it up in Taipei on July 15
Doesn't run Pokemon Go - FYI

Thanks

Yes, this phone supports dual SIM and dual active, but the SIM2 and the microSD card share the same slot, so you have to choose between SIM2 or microSD (i.e. you cannot insert SIM2 if you inserted microSD card).

Sorry, I may confused. After checking Asus Taiwan Store again, there is NO 3GB variant for ZE552KL. I am not sure if there is 3GB variant in other countries. Sorry for providing unclear information.

Does the 'Dolby Atmos' sound feature works both on the stereo speakers on the phone and the headphone output?
Or is that only for the speakers?

Wow neat!
Ok so here are a few:
1) How'd you get it early? If from UK, where did you order it from?
2) does portrait mode look any good? - I hated it on the note 8 as images were so soft and it didn't have HDR.

Yep I was on same boat I only changed because I dont like keeping my phones more than a year. The raw power is there, phone is very smooth and responsive no red tint as in s8. Netflix HDR is enabled as well. Only problem is the web rendering benchmarks etc in running a gfx benchmark.i think a software update can fix this anyway
