The developer (ingbrzy) stated that if you want to upgrade to this rom "Update to MIUI 12. You have to install this update MANUALLY - OTA from MIUI 11 will not work."

MIUI 12
Ok, my way=
1. Download the ROM
2. Start MIUI Update
3. Select the ROM manuall
4. It reboot to Twrp 3.1.1-7
5. Finish the Install with no Error
6. Reboot to System ends with newstart to Twrp.

No, you need to boot to TWRP only. In there, select the downloaded zip file unser "install". As mentioned, updating through the system settings option wont work.

MIUI 12

What do you use? (Recovery and for better battery life)

Did anyone able to use banking apps like Phonepe, Google pay, iMobile? These apps are not able to recognize the sim thus not able to use my device Mi CC9(Pyxis) on the latest EU weekly ROM.

It's just me, or the full screen gestures lags for everyone else?

I'm using several banking apps and Google Pay with no problems, I've got Magisk hide activated on all the banking / nfc apps and majority of google apps and services.

Which sim-card slot do you have it in? I'd suggest installing Magisk for banking apps.

I've just installed the system, nothing installed except the stock apps. When i swipe up, the animation looks like about 5 fps. I tried MiuiMiX too, it has the same problem for me.

I had already tried Magisk, not worked. It look like some issue with EU rom as I observed few other ppl also posted the same issue in EU site. By the way I am using Jio simcard in 1st slot, I use only one sim. Earlier when I was using MIUI11, it was working good. After updating MIUI12 beta version started this problem.
I have one more surprize with this ROM, there is no option to restore the backup. We can only take backup but we cant restore. This is really very strange.

Is Samsung Galaxy C5 getting Android 7.0

Hi,
So happy Samsung Galaxy C5 finally has its own XDA forum thread. :highfive: It's hard learning chinese or russian to get some info about it
Anyone knows if this Samsung unit is getting Android 7.0 ? It's a new model, so i has to be updated, right?
And one different question. If i do root via the TWRP method do I lose ability to receive OTA updates ?
Thanks
Hello
As i'm also a user of SM-C5000, the Nougat firmware is available only if you've a Open China Build which i'm not sure what it is
You can check the website to get the firmware. I'm stuck at FRP lock via Odin

How did you manage to install the gapps on the Chinese ROM Nougat ??? Here, even putting the old Bootloader that works with TWRP and installing the Gapps for Android 7, the Google Play Store does not work, it always shows that message that has stopped.

Okay, I'll explain the whole procedure I do here.
1 - I install the latest version of Nougat (C5000ZCU1BQL1) or older (C5000ZCU1BQJ2) I only change Bootloader (BL) in Odin, putting the old Android 6.0 BL (C5000ZCU1APG2), so I can install TWRP and install Gapps 7.0 .
2- After installing the ROM, I make the Root with AUTOROT with ODIN.
3 - After that, I install TWRP via ODIN too and put the Gapps in Internal Memory.
4 - I do the Boot via TWRP, I install the Gapps 7.0 (mini or micro).
5 - I make the Swipes marking all the options (Dalvik / Cash, Data ...) just does not mark the Internal Memory.
6 - The Mobile starts as if it was the first time, but after accepting the Terms, it loads the Google information and closes, returning to the previous Terms screen, so I do not have access to the home screen and I can not try to login in the Google Play Store.

before gapps installing do the factory reset and after the installing gapps again factory reset.
2nd option after installing of twrp u do factory reset and then booted up ur phone without installing gapps then wait for mobile from starting mode when mobile is ready to use you flash gapps through recovery then factory reset and then booted to mobile
Damnit, tired of waiting in vain I simply replaced C5 with LG G6. Oh Joy! No comparison.

[FIRMWARE-ONLY][MI MIX][LITHIUM] Developer ROM Firmware

News :
Starting today, i'll just upload the firmware if it has a change in it.
So you know there's no need to update the firmware if there's no change in it, save the hassle.
Tips :
* I've added checksum file for each firmware-only files in google drive, so you guys can see what's changed on every firmware-only release.
* If you experience sim card not detected after flashing firmware, don't worry, it's normal. do this, plug out and plug in your sim card tray, and restart your device.

yep i believe the Miui10 is in Alpha and currently being tested by a closed group of users. we should see public Beta releases towards the end of June.
Im just curious if there is any difference in battery consumption to previous version of MIUI.
I've tried it a couple of days ago. There are some visual changes like new notifications panel UI, recents UI, In-call UI etc. A bit more IOS-ish as some say.
First of all, if you consider flashing it;
- You need the Raupe/Blunden twrp to flash it, other recoveries end up with error 7.
- After flashing this build; twrp will ask for a decrypt password and no password will be correct. So your internal storage won't be mounted on twrp no way to fix it at the moment.
- Magisk 16.4 is able to root it, don't know about previous ones.
- If you consider flashing other roms, you have to do factory reset(format data) to get your internal be able to mount on twrp again.
- It doesn't have google apps as it's China specific, so you need to install google apps manually by Google installer apk or there are zip files for miui 10 ported gapps which give force closes randomly.
- Can be a daily driver since all is working.
- Xposed won't work.
Other than these hick ups, it's good initial build. Fast and smooth, can't tell about battery life since I haven't used it for a long time. There are secondary releases(8.6.5) for some devices so can be around for Mix too. Cheers.

Ok trying it now and everything seems to be working good. A little laggy at the moment so I'm just letting it set in. I was hoping the camera would've gotten updated but same old crappy camera software from previous MIUI firmware. Hopefully when they do release the final version we'll get a updated camera but all in all this is a keeper till we get updated version on here, hopefully...

I highly doubt the mix will get seeing as how old it is now, I never use it anyway on other devices so it's not a big deal to me. Everything is running very smooth and fast, I'm liking the Android P style look a lot, more than how it looks on the pixel but that's just me.

Inviato dal mio MIX 3 utilizzando Tapatalk
That's still not allowing me to disable them, only giving or revoking permission to auto start. I'm actually wanting to disable the apps so no notifications, no icon etc, would uninstall if I could but not getting that option either.

You can't disable apps in miui software.
You can run ADB commands to remove the apps if you know their package names.
Or you can root device and install app remover apps from the store

Can't say for sure as the one I shipped with came with the chinese rom

EU Chinese ROM passes without Magisk

EU is the Chinese ROM with Google built in and some optimisations.
Global is basically the above but with no EU team optimisations.

Only noticeable difference to me is the notifications work fine on EU. Other than that there will be tweaks here and there but nothing special.
I'd recommend going with the EU one.

That's mostly true... but not 100%...
For instance, Magisk and Magisk Hide work well with Google Pay, Netflix etc.
However, Halifax Bank are doing some extra check... annoying I can't use that app on my rooted phone.
I use Monzo so hopefully it will work with Magisk
Everytime I read a post in the Xiaomi.eu forums it says to install China rom first and then flash the EU rom afterwards - is this required? Or can I go straight from Global to EU

I am moments away from fully updated. What a slick process. 150 mg's as an update to beta 3. I would say from opening the restart 20 minutes. Excellent company Essential.
Just updated. So far, Quickstep launcher seems more stable. Still no VoLte on Verizon. Toggle is there, but turning it on does nothing.
Update: I had set dns to private and was using dns.adguard.com for some minor ad control. Thought I'd check if that was hosing up VoLte on Verizon so I set dns to automatic and got VoLte back.
I updated and now fastboot isn't working. Anytime having that issue? The device is still functioning, and I can use the OS, but when trying to flash a boot image it just keeps throwing up a can't be read error. I'll come back with a screenshot later when I have the time.
Edit: Took the update OTA.

That's crazy if so. I can't even switch slots or anything. And essential even includes an option to update using a flashall script. That can't be used either. That sucks.
Edit: Yes, I updated the drivers and fastboot sdk. Same result.
The developer option "override force-dark" doesn't seem to work anymore. It was my new favorite feature but settings crashes when I toggle it. Magisk bootloops. Still dosn't pass safetynet. At least my banking app doesn't crash anymore.
Edit: clearing davlink/cache fixed the issue with magisk.
Edit v2: force dark can be enabled if you have root via:
adb shell su -c setprop persist.hwui.force_dark true
Then reboot
I was on beta3, but it can't update from OTA. The updater kept failure. I downloaded the OTA file(about 1Gb) then flash from adb sideload. Finally, it's all fine and update to beta4.
I am soooooooo angry with Android. Each new major release is just crap.
This f****** background limit bs is causing apps to hang and crash upon opening even with the background activities enabled in developer settings. Also this freaking add another email in settings tip won't go away. I wish I can go back to Jellybean when Android just worked.

Lol I know. I am just fed up on where Android is headed.
How is beta 4 treating those who are in it? I installed the app but haven't switched to the beta change yet.

Some apps get FC, most bank apps get FC.

I had that at first on beta 3. After 3 successive reboots everything settled for me.

Imo beta 4 is 10x better than 3. Better stability, better response, better ram management. No FC' s for me and VoLte works on Verizon. Not rooted or unlocked.
Getting a few UI hangups and banking app isn't working. Otherwise seems to be reasonably solid.

Both of the banking apps I use (US Bank and BECU) work fine. I haven't tried any of the previous betas. I just went straight to beta 4 from 9.0.
What magisk version works?

What version of magisk works using twrp?
Running beta 4. Went into developer options and at the very bottom is theming with a few accent colors. Nice.
Also dark mode still working for me.
Sent from my PH-1 using XDA Labs

The current version, 19.3, it working for me.
For me the update is really stable. No FCs oder anything. The only thing that doesn't work is rotation. Does anyone have the same problem? When I try out apps that should use the sensor, (like gravity gestures) it says I don't have the sensor. It's not that annoying, except for making videos...everything is shot in vertical.

MIUI V11.0.3.0. QDGMIXM Global Stable

New Global Stable version based on Android 10.
Thanks for the heads up. Update was available to me and updated without issue.
Same here!!! everything ok apart adaway not working anymore

After the update, my earpiece during voice calls no longer works. I need to use Speakerphone to hear on voice calls.
Hi, I want to use the opportunity for a factory reset. Should I do reset and then update or update and then reset? I am on stock with no twrp. Thaanks!
Is there any place I can download a TWRP version of this update?
Best regards
So far so good after the update. Doesn't seem to have added any of the MIUI 11 features that weren't included in the Android 9.0 update nor have I noticed any major changes caused by the update to Android 10 as of yet

Thank you very much! Do you know if it could be installed by TWRP? I have installed a version without any issue by TWRP but when I restart it returns TWRP.
Best regards
Happened to me too....only way I was able to make it work....WIPE EVERYTHING...by format and start over with a blank storage.

I also don't see any additional features. Came from 10.3.3, without formatting data.
Cam at night mode still sucks. Battery improved a little bit, surprise. I'm satisfied all in all... Everything works.
The only thing that i don't get along is editing the build.prob, but no matter.

Does Magisk works with this update?
Yes magisk 20.3 work . You must flash magisk if you want twrp. Otherwise the rom flash recovery when it boot and twrp disappear
I am having some problems with this update.
Sometimes(much times) i am having problems with lag on google photos and chrome (on photos search).
When i'm casting something on chromecast i can't change the cellphone volume (the blue bar doesn't appear when i press the buttons as it used to), just the cast one. To change the call/alarm/midia volume i have to go trough system > sound.
But the worst one is when my phone freezes for 2/3 seconds mostly when i'm watching a video on chrome. Idk if the problem is on gchrome or the rom itself.
anyone having something similar?
No earpiece audio after upgrade? Try this...

Same thing happened to me after the update. Here's what I did to get it back.
1. Hard reset (didn't work but never hurts)
2. Settings -> About phone -> System update -> ( . . . ) -> Download latest package
3. (Reboot and let install complete)
Let it reinstall and once it rebooted I had audio through the earpiece back.

Hi, I flashed this rom and magisk 20.3 together. But it will end up with a bootloop to twrp recovery. Could you please help me with it? Thanks!
Magisk save the stock boot ans write a new boot.
You may attempt to flash again the stock boot (extract it from the rom ) with twrp in boot.
