Unlock, root, Rebrand concepts - OnePlus 8 Questions & Answers

Hello. I've some questions about the below concepts.
1. What is Rebrand? Does it mean, say, changing from hydrogenos to oxygenos? (Same as flashing?) Can I upgrade from Oneplus natively after that?
2. Do we need to unlock bootloader to root Oneplus 8?
3. Do we need to flash TWRP to root?
Many thanks!

I researched on Chinese Oneplus discussions
1. Can upgrade from OTA after flashing oxygenos
2. Yes, need unblock to root
3. No, no need TWRP to root

Is the bootloader of OnePlus X E1003's bootloader unlockable? HELP PLS!!!

Hello!
I want to unlock my bootloader and root my phone to flash a custom ROM. I have many questions regarding this:
1. http://www.howtogeek.com/239798/how-to-unlock-your-android-phones-bootloader-the-official-way/ This link has instructions to unlock bootloader the official way. It is written there that bootloader of some specific models of some phones might not be unlockable, and it told me to check on XDA developers. So is OnePlus X E1003 Onyx's bootloader unlockable? If not, it is written that I will need to use the unofficial method given at XDA developers.
2. After unlocking my bootloader using ADB, fastboot and all that, do I need to flash a custom recovery like TWRP, CloCkworks mod, etc. ? If yes, pls tell me where to find it and how to flash it!!
3. Do I neet to root my device before flashing a custom ROM? Also, how to root my device manually using adb? Should I use apps like Kingroot for rooting my phone. If yes, pls suggest apps other than kingroot! and also tell me how to root manually using zipped files!
4. What is the safest and ideal way to flash a custom ROM? As OnePlus X hasn't yet received Marshmellow update, is it advisable to flash CM13? Is there any OxygenOS v 3.3 Rom for Oneplus x?? pls helP!!

If I unlock bootloader and root how to update to further versions by huawei?
Will the warranty be voided?
Is there any real advantage of rooting mate 9?
TWRP is necessary for rooting?
Like Oneplus does huawei also encourage rooting?
If I unlock bootloader and root how to update to further versions by huawei?
You should be able to download the OTA and flash in recovery. This method worked on the Hauawei 6P. Other more experienced Huawei users, correct me if this is wrong
Will the warranty be voided?
Yes
Is there any real advantage of rooting mate 9?
It depends on what you want to do with the device. It will allow removal of unwanted system apps, ad blockers, build prop tweaks and future custom ROM flahshing
TWRP is necessary for rooting?
Yes. This is how you will flash the necessary root files to the device.
Like Oneplus does huawei also encourage rooting?
No they do not. But they do allow the unlocking of the bootloader.

How can I root my MIUI11 Redmi 8A dual without unlocking bootloader?

Hello all xda members,
I am not new in rooting. I was rooting my phone since 2014. When KitKat and lollipop introduced. After I purchased the new redmi 8A dual, it's impossible to root with kingoroot and with others. So, I googled how to root Android 10 miui11. I found there is an app called magisk. So I installed it. Now, I searched more, I found that I have to unlock my bootloader in order to install custom recovery. I really don't wanna unlock my bootloader and custom recovery. I just wanna root for temporarily because I need to convert some application to sys apps.
Now,
I found that people doing another magisk way to root and is called 'patching boot image', . I patched my boot image and download the platform tool. Now, I am completely puzzled because I don't know what to do next! Some are saying I have unlock bootloader and some are rooting without unlocking bootloader.
If by patching boot image root is possible without bootloader then could you please write the steps! I am completely noob in magisk line.
Or,
Is there any way to root MIUI11 without unlocking bootloader? I really don't wanna loss my data.
Thanks for reading!

Your only chance of rooting without unlocking bootloader is to find a universal rooting app or PC program that has an exploit that works on your device. But, I doubt that there is an app or PC program that can root your device, those stopped working on devices with android versions newer than Marshmallow.

Just unlocked bootloader. Now what?

I need a little direction on what my next step should be for obtaining root and twrp on my device.
As it states in the title, I just unlocked bootloader on my Sprint\Tmo OnePlus 8 5G.
I want to root and install TWRP, ultimately.
What I THINK I know so far in what I need to do next:
Obtain root (I need a good walkthrough on this as well)
Back up persist.img
Back up boot.img
Install magisk?
Patch boot.img with magisk?
Install TWRP via magisk?
Flash rom via twrp or magisk depending on rom requirements?
As you might see, I'm a little confused.
Can someone clarify the process for my specific adventure? Again, it's and freshly BL Unlocked Spront\Tmo OnePlus 8 5G on 10.5.21.IN55CB software.

As you can see it's read through a number of them but it all feels jumbled.
There's not one coherent guide that I could find. Could someone link me a complete guide to rooting this device?

Root a OnePlus 8 (in2017) with android 12?

Hello, I recently unlocked my bootloader on my OnePlus 8 T-Mobile (in2017) in the intention to root it with magisk.
I can say that I am lost and afraid to brick my device. There is no post anywhere talking about rooting the in2017 with android 12.
I don't mind downgrading to android 11, just tell me how!
I'm new to all these stuff, I don't know what is msm tool and why I need to "patch" my firmware.
Can't I just flash twrp and then magisk?
I really want help!

You will need to proof-read and have a full understanding on the utilization of the MSM Tool and how to root your device before proceeding.
If your bootloader is unlocked you can follow this guide.
