G970A Question about Magisk? - Samsung Galaxy S10e Guides, News, & Discussion

I'm wondering if anyone can give me a good ELI5 rundown of why we can't use Magisk to root the s10e snapdragon or literally an phone if it is systemless? Or am I completely wrong? When trying to learn something the only wrong questions are the ones you don't ask right? Thank you in advance

Magisk modifies the boot.img which we cant access because the bootloader is locked.

Android Sim Unlock

I am kinda new to this. I am trying to figure out how to sim unlock a phone. I have had someone unlock a phone for me remotely. And I would like to learn how to do this.
I have figured out how to get MSL code using adb.
When getting my phone unlocked the guy asked me to switch my qualcomm to dm+adm+modem. Why?
Is there a guide out there how to do this?
Is there commands I can use in ADB?
What files am I looking for?
Is it the same basic process for all android phones?
If anyone can help, I would greatly appreciate it.
I can be reached on Hangouts... [email protected]
Thank You in Advance

Is unlocking a phone different in each model or is it the same basic concept?

Most processes are different depending on the model number and the stock firmware version.
I'm at work, I'll see what I find for you when I get off of work.

About SM-G955U

Hey guys, Aimee here.
I was wondering about whether or not an SM-G955U snapdragon TMobile root is available / how I can check my bootloader status ! I have really been looking hard for a little while now but I haven't had any luck finding and clear and legitimate answers and I am really worried that there is no available root / no way to unlock the bootloader on my device:laugh:
I would be really appreciative of any help I can get on this matter- if this is a double post I will take it down ASAP but I think I'm the first specifically asking about this
Thanks!
Aimée
P.S. any info that would help in this endevor I would be happy to provide

Yes, I'm sure that the 955U does not have root yet.

AT&T S8+ SM-G955U unlock bootloader/root (pie)

The guy I bought the phone from had bought this phone from Verizon new. I switched it to AT&T. Everyone is telling me that unlocking bootloader and rooting my S8+ SM-G955U is very difficult. I've been reading and reaching the subject for the past month. Watched every YouTube video I could find useful. All the dudes I see on YouTube make it look so effortless and simple. Need some solid advice and steps please, Thx.

There is a dedicated thread here that gives the details of using Magisk to root. Use the XDA search feature to search for "Magisk root", you should see the main thread for Magisk, read it thoroughly again and again until you understand it. Ask questions in the Magisk thread if there is something that you don't understand.
You don't necessarily need a specific guide for your specific device.
You just need to verify whether your bootloader is locked or not. If it is locked, you can't use Magisk. If your bootloader is unlocked, you should have no problem rooting your device using Magisk.
