I've looked everywhere and I guess that it just isn't possible to Root the Galaxy A205U. All I am trying to do is uninstall all system apps that I don't need, any bloatware and basically any and everything else that I don't need on my device. I'm just trying to get rid of everything that is taking up space and limiting my new phone. I am by no means a developer, and I have no knowledge when it comes to modifying or customizing devices, but I really would love to learn and try on my new phone. So If you could show me how to make my Galaxy A205U perform better than it does just coming out of the box, I would be eternally grateful. Please and thank you.

HTC One A9 FRP Lock remove???

I got this htc device with frp lock. Well for samsung it not so big deal with, but with this one i just don't know how to bypass it. Can you suggest something? Are there any ways to get rid of it without s-off?
You can't rid of it ever unless you login with the userid/password on the phone, then remove the account from the phone, which will then remove the phone ID with the user email so it can then be setup with another google account.
Sounds like someone bought a lost/stolen phone.... :crying: if its the case, even if you bypass the FRP the IMEI# is probably blacklisted now.
im in the same exact situation!ive been searching and searching for a solution. I have s-on and it has already been factory reset and is at the beginning of the setup wizard. the otg method or possibly root junkys other method that doesn't require an otg cable and you unplug your modem/cut the internet connection? please if you can help me I'm willing to try all ideas. if I can somehow enable usb debugging wont that solve all issues because then I will be able to get deeper into the phone> ? sorry for lightweight taking your thread but I'm pretty sure we are in the exact same situation. oh and mine is for at&t if that makes a difference.
FRP mode only can bypass via ADB shell, Download Mode or Bootloader
I have an exlusive solution its working ,i try to make a video and show you how to bypass frp .

[Completed] Problems With Rooting!

I have a Samsung J320V or J36V which is on the Verizon network. I really want to root it to unlock the full potential of my phone and I understand it will void my warranty but I'll go ahead and do it anyway. When I follow the steps to root I get stuck at the Odin part which I have to click start and the TWRP file installs on my phone. But it fails and I get this message on my phone "SECURE BOOT FAIL RECOVERY"! I've looked everywhere for a solution but none of them work and I also enabled USB DEBUGGING and OEM UNLOCK. I also couldn't disable REACTIVATION LOCK because the feature is not on my phone and I also removed my Google account and Samsung account. If anyone could help you would be the real MVP and I would really really really appreciate it from the bottom of my heart! Even if you saw my post and can't help still thank you for taking time out of YOUR day and looking at my problem!

What is the best way to get this phone rooted on the T-Mobile variant? Also, if the phone is unlocked and I want to use it on MetroPCS do I simply just add the sim card and change APN settings?

All indications are that this is really the only way to root the phone: http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...-to-notes-root-install-xposed-unroot-t3411039
However, IDK if this will work on the more recent firmware that has been released. They have some BS security patches and I'm unsure if this will F up the root process.
I have to say that I hate the direction rooting phones has been heading. It used to be so easy to find the root method and recovery for whatever phone you had on whatever carrier. Now for the most popular Android phone we have to run through all these hoops.
The PIA build can still be rooted using the method you linked. Just make sure you have the right files for your carrier.
I have heard/read that this method will work on every build except the nougat beta.

Edit build.prop to enable tethering without root?

Hey guys, i'm wondering if it's possible to edit the build.prop so I can enable tethering without root. I don't want to lose Android Pay and i'm trying to keep my phone stock for the time being but I would like to be able to use tethering once in a while. Also, I haven't unlocked the bootloader and am using stock recovery and the phone was bought direct from Google.
Thanks everybody!
Same here. Would love to have unlocked hotspot/tether without root
I don't think there is a way to make the necessary edits to the files that need them without root access.

Unfortunately, there is no way to edit the build.prop without root access. I
Root. Modify. Unroot. Keep bootloader unlocked and install custom kernel to have access to Android Pay if you need it.

According to sd_shadow, modifying build.prop can be done with TWRP and PC (without root).
Referring to this post by sd_shadow here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=70490702&postcount=118
Any ideas how?
I'm on 7.1.1, bootloder unlocked, Verizon Pixel. Would like to avoid root if possible. That's the main reason I got this phone, I got tired of the rooting-related BS.

I could be wrong, but I think once you modify that file - root or not - you may run into some of that BS anyway (failed OTA's, etc) since the system will have been modified from stock.

So I guess sd_shadow was referring to root-modify-build-prop-unroot procedure. No way to avoid root.....

Is there a root and custom recovery for J3 Luna Pro SM-S337TL?

I'm using Wal-Mart's Family Mobile which runs on T-Mobile's network. Phone is running 7.0 Marshmallow. Even though this phone has 16GB of onboard storage with a micro SD card slot, I don't like how they lock the permissions of Gapps bloatware and wouldn't mind the opportunity to free up additional storage space. Has anybody built a custom recovery yet for this model of the J3?
Update
The bootloader appears to be unlocked, though the FRP lock is enabled. In previous attempts to install custom recovery programs, FRP locks have kept Odin from flashing anything to the phone.
Any advice would be appreciated. Trying not to add a brick to my collection.
how did you do it?
I happened to buy the same model for simple mobile.
I am wondering about the same thing.
It sounds like you were able to gain root.
How did you do that?

disabling frp is simple remove all google and samsung accounts from your device then reboot. it will say frp is off in download mode. but if it says secure check failed your bootloader is locked. and by what your saying your using the j3 prime which is the same device i have and i been trying to root it ever since june. the bootloader is locked and it isnt unlockable. even oem unlock is missing. if you want root and twrp you need to get the j3 prime (sm-j327u) directly from samsung. it is unlocked for all carriers and has oem unlock in developer options.
I got my hands on this device and i would like to network/sim unlock it since its from usa and i am located at Greece.
download mode and recovery both accessible but not fastboot one. No unlock oem option on developer options.
Tried pushing a custom recovery with adb no luck and cant find a stock rom anywhere.
Only option i found is a software called samkeytwo seems a mix of bit shaddy and bit legit requires a payment to do the job.
Personally if a one time payment will do the job its fine with me so pretty much my question is if anyone here have used this and can tell if its working or not?
so my friend on the states has got the same phone and went to a verizon store since he was a costumer of verizon carrier he handed the phone over to an employee and after a short time around 5 minutes he got the phone handed over back to him with a verizon network sim on it working.
talking over with him to undertand how he did it i found out the following. Oem unlock is visible in his developer settings but grayed out so he cannot turn it of or on.
The phone instead of the tracfone logo has verizon when boots up
The phone Baseband version is G8998-00164-1710262031 which reffers to google pixel 2 verizon ?!?!?!!? (his device is still the actual luna j3 pro)
Finally his phone is running android version 8.1 instead of the 7.0!!!
What sorcery has took place at this verizon store?
Little lgnomes perhaps, I try to catch the little buggers every night but unfortunately they are too fast for me
my phone says pin blocked when the sim card is in.
it says google account locked when the sim card is out
does anyone know how to fix this?
