CC9 Pro & Global ROM - Region settings - Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Questions & Answers

Hi there
Short question, i have an CC9 Pro and just flashed the global rom on my device. I do not have an option to change my region setting, there is just China as an choise. As much as i know, the region settings should be covered with the cust partition on the phone, right? Is it possible that one of you, who is using a Europe phone, extract his cust partition to an img file and is it save to reflash it through fastboot?
Thx and cheers

1. download global(not eea) recovery rom on your phone
2. unlock bootloader
3. flash orangefox recovery
4. boot to orangefox
5. wipe cache/dalvik/system/vendor
6. flash global rom zip file
7. boot the phone, and just wait phone will start to boot, but after some time you'll end into the xiaomi recovery
8. from there, do a wipe and just reboot and wait a bit
it's how i did it..

Yes, they are the same. CC9 Pro is the name in China.

The same? Even concerning LTE Band 20 (800GHz)?

I got a Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro Premium from TradingShenzhen and have still to wait 2 days until I can unlock the bootloader. Since I read the statement several times, that the Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro is identical with the Note 10 from a hardware point of view, an the Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro Premium is the Mi Note 10 Pro with 8 lenses and 8GB / 256GB, I went this way. The Mi Note 10 Pro costs in Germany around 649€, the Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro Premium around 515€ incl. tax an shipping fees.
But I had to learn that LTE Band 20 (800GHz) is only supported by the global Note 10 (Pro), not by the CC9 Pro (Premium). This seems to be a hardware issue.
Can somebody confirm this? Or is there a chance to use 800GHz on the CC9 Pro as well, with a different ROM or whatever?
Right now I'm in a bigger city, where LTE Band 8 is in use, but on the weekends I'm in a small city which has only LTE Band 20 in use. So I cannot check this momentarily.
I still can return the phone and buy the more expensive Mi Note 10 Pro, but then I have to hurry...
Thx for any advise! Cheers, Stefan

Yes, you won't be able to activate band 20 by flashing the EU Rom in China Rom.
frohe Weihnachten und einen guten Rutsch ins Jahr 2020!

Thanks for the info! So both phones differ indeed from a hardware point of view? I found some threads that in rare cases the Qualcomm NV RAM #6828 LTE Configuration can be modified using values of the Qualcomm LTE calculator...

Yes, you can say that it's a hardware problem. The same Qualcom 730G chip may have different versions with different bands. The more bands it includes, the higher the cost. Therefore, the manufacturer only chooses the cheapest version for that country/region. If the 730G version in China contains band 20 originally, you maybe able to activate it. But I don't think it's already included in the chip.

About Widevine profiles and Global/CN versions of 5G model

Hi, I'm looking for a new phone and I've been searching for one that supports root (Magisk, unlocked bootloader) while keeping Widevine L1 .
I've read the Xiaomi 10 Pro can do that, but I have a few questions:
1. Does this happens only with the chinese version, or with the global version as well?
2. Does this work on the Mi 10 Pro 5G?
3. Does this work with any ROM, or xiaomi.eu only?
4. A little off-topic here, any other (non xiaomi) phone that can achieve this?
Thanks!
I have ch rom with magisk and I have widevine 1
Global version of the phone, or chinese version? I'm talking about HW not SW.

both china and global have L1, but be careful if you play around with things like persist partition you may break it. there are some people on xiaomi eu forum that managed to do that
I guess installing only xiaomi.eu ROM will do no harm hehe.

nope eu is awesome
just don't forget to "format data" (not factory reset or wipe) the first time you install twrp before flashing eu or it won't boot. there is also a stable eu miui 12 version available for mi 10 pro.
And about L1, is it possible to keep it with root on any ROM, or only xiaomi.eu ones?

I don't use 5G myself the option for it is in the settings (enable 5G and prefer 5G) and I cannot find anyone complaining on eu forums about mi 10. All I could find is a couple of people saying it doesn't work on K30 and an old post saying the bug is fixed in January for mi 9 pro. if it's broken on eu at least no one cared enough to make a bug report for it.

Well it doesn't work, maybe no one has 5g sim.
I can confirm now that global version of the phone with xiaomi.eu maintains both Widevine L1 profile and 5G settings.
Thanks to all!
Whats the best rom to get tmobile 5g working? It works for me on the china rom, but EU and global it's a no go for some reason
It's weird that eu rom breaks your 5G, as it is based on the china ROM if I'm not mistaken. Try and post on their forums, maybe is a carrier specific issue?
5G works for me on eu rom but just on sim2. You have to buy sim tray with 2 sim slots and put your card in sim2 slot.

What are the benefits of flashing a CC9 Pro to Mi Note 10 (global rom)?

Sorry if this is a silly question but can someone list out why someone would want to unlock their BL , and flash a mi note 10 rom?
I ordered a CC9 Pro that is supposed to come with all official google support (according to the seller). i DO need to have:
-Google pay
-Google playstore
-Gcam
Can I stay with the original CC9 pro firmware? I don't want to tinker too much since i've read some horrible stories of a bricked phone here...

I don't think you can use Google Pay on an unlocked phone. Something to do with security.

I'm not sure going to Mi Note 10 firmware will bring any benefits.
CC9 firmware has call recording built into the dialer, you'll lose that feature if you switch to Mi Note 10 firmware. I think you'd lose more than you'd gain.
What features do you want to gain?
Sent from my Mi Note 10 using Tapatalk
Thanks, as long as I can use the 3 i mentioned, I"m fine with CC9 pro then..
I really dont know what features i COULD gain with a mi note 10 actually. is there a place to read up the differences?

Mi Note 10 comes with stock camera app, not GCam. I don't know if it's different to the CC9 camera app, but I doubt it's noticeably different to most people.
Mi Note 10 has Google dialler as oppose to CC9 which has MUIU dialer. MUIU dialer has extra features like call recording built in.
Mi Note 10 has Google Pay and it works as fine, I've used it myself.
I'm not completely sure if the CC9 works with Google pay or not, you could maybe try this out on your phone? Though I'm pretty sure that a phone with unlocked bootloader wouldn't work with Google Pay.

You can't use gpay on an unlocked phone with stock ROM. You would have to install TWRP and flash xiaomi.eu. It's a modded MIUI ROM with pre-installed Google Services + working Google Pay.

Question I think my phone is weird - no codename

I recently got on contract the redmi note 11 Pro 5g.
Surprised to find its still on android 11,i looked for newer roms.
Only, my rom seems to be... Unique, for want of a better term
Instead of model name it has a number, 2201116sg
The android version doesn't match anything listed for this phone, even though its supposed to be miui 13 global -
13.0.4(RKCEUTF)
Can anyone tell me if I will brick if I flash the latest android 12 miui global stable?

If you rent the phone don't do this.
PEUX redmi note 11 Pro 5g INDIAN market
VEUX redmi note 11 Pro 5g Global market
As it is a brand phone, updates are provided by your operator, not on the official channel.
You must first unlock the bootloader.
After using this tool :https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/flash-tool-guide-use-xiaomi-flash-tool.4262425/
Better than stock:https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/miui-13-stable-release.64441/
Sounds like it's Veux then? Bought in the UK through O2 network.
Is there anyway to verify this?
And I own the phone, they just have me on a credit agreement to repay the cost over the life of the contract.

Question Root Xiaomi 12 to underclock SoC with FKM?

So i recently bought a Xiaomi 12 for ~$450, and i love it so far! So much more cool stuff compared to my previous 11 Lite 5G NE. Now, ive heard that the Snapdragon 8 gen 1 that the xiaomi 12 is using isnt really power efficient, and since i dont really need any faster SoC than compared to the 778G would i possibly be able to underclock/undervolt it? Im hoping it would bring down the power consumption while still offering more than enough SoC power for social media stuff like the 778G.
Ive already touched this undervolting stuff on my old 11 Lite 5G NE with Franco Kernel Manager. Couldnt do much with it tho as the pixelOS kernel controlled most of the stuff. Hoping it might be different on MIUI as its using a different kernel. Rooting would also allow me to install a xiaomi.eu rom to remove the ads and all the other stuff it brings with it. So is it worth it? Have anyone else tried?

yeah nah my bad, i meant that if im going to root (FKM needs root) i might as well install a Xiaomi.eu rom too while im at it. Ill need to unlock the bootloader anyways.
EDIT: im also a bit confused at the xiaomi 12 and 12 pro. Its basically the same device, but is it still under the same codename? The 11 Lite 5G NE and the 11 Lite 5G was 2 different devices, and things that worked on one might not work on the other, so im a bit lost at what things that the 12 pro can do which the 12 cant. Seems like the whole "Xiaomi 12" forum is filled with both Xiaomi 12 pro and Xiaomi 12T stuff.

Question Is there a way to confirm the codename of the phone in the phone?

Xiaomi naming is weird... very weird.
I have a Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G and I live in Europe (global version), so I'm assuming I have a xiaomi peux, right? Is there a way to confirm this from the phone itself? I wanted to try things, but I have no desire to brick it because I used an incompatible rom.
