How to set up realme 5 pro to restore data from my old phone's google drive data ? - Realme 5 Pro Questions & Answers

When I set up a new phone, usually I get a prompt to sign into google account and restore apps and data.
But in colour OS, I didn't get that.
However is there any way to manually get that ?
( I lost my previous phone (moto g4 plus) and I am hoping there is someway which will help me restore as much data as possible into this new phone (realme 5 pro) )

Settings>Other accounts>Google>Add>Sync now.
I can do this without issue. I'm from Hungary btw.

Hi.
I can add the google account, but when we set up a new phone that has an experience close to the google's android, we get prompted with an option to restore the data that was backed up on our old phone.
Here I am unable to do that.

Hm. Yes. I remember now. I don't think we can do that on this device. I'm sure though it almost does the same that I described. Although I'd not be looking for that new device setup prompt for in China Google services isn't available. I'd say we're lucky that play store is pre-installed for devices outside China. Sorry but I don't think I can help. I'm still trying to get used to Color OS.

have you try reset to factory setting? because in my case, the first time i boot the phone, there is the option to restore data backed up on google. I dont use that tho, so i can't tell if it work or not.
but there is an option to backup or restore right above reset to factory setting, so maybe that is what you are looking for..

I didn't get that option at all.
It just gives me an option to use realme's app to transfer data.

No.
It only allows to back up from this phone
but doesn't restore the data from a different phone.

Factory reset would be the way to go!
I backed up sd card and did a factory reset, when phone rebooted into recover it said E:format_volume: rfs format failed on /dev/block/stl11. I restarted phone and same issue, not able to connect with market, yet file explorer was able to update by itself? Id like to try the youtube fix, but all i could find was the 2.4.4 version online and when I try to log on it sends me to sync.. Any other options? maybe hard reset??
Hmm.....I'd say GR then go from there.
I performed a one-click, had to download SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_1.5.4.0 after many failed attempts installing stock.. Then flashed vb-fb-build 3 twice consecutively and everything is much smoother Ive been flashing rom after rom etc etc.. So a clean install was good to do finally. Thanks for the help! If anyone has any questions feel free.

[Q] Deleted 'google store' app - OOOPS!

Somehow I've managed to completely delete the google store app off my sony niro, with ICS. This means that i cant upgrade or install any apps from that site! Vodafone, my provider, have suggested that I back everything up and then do a factory reset which will nuke everything on the phone and leaving me to re-install everything afterwards. Ouch!
Can anyone suggest how i can get it back without doing the factory reset please? I cant install their 'PC Companion' software to do it with as I'm using Debian 7.
Thanks
Sharon.
Are you rooted with a custom recovery? Do you have a copy in Titanium Backup?
If not, rooting and either flashing it or pushing it somehow might work. I'm thinking like how you'd flash GAPPs normally with a new ROM.
I'm not sure about specifics for your phone, though.

Right, new google store app downloaded and installed, rebooted, cleared cache and all stored data and run it. It shows that i have 12+ updates to get, so i start downloading them and it crashes! Just says that 'google store has stopped'! Try again and the same thing happens, so I'll let it fully charge and take it off the charge cord and try again.
But its looking hopeful, thanks.
Sharon.
Full charge now done so I've had a chance to play with it. With all cache and data deleted, it still crashes before you get the little checkbox asking you to agree to googles term and conditions. It doesn't show in 'titanium backup' under 'google store' or 'play store', and neither does it show in 'ROM Toolbox Pro' of downloaded apps, installed apps, or backupped apps. Its as if it doesn't exist!
I'm now at a loss as to what to do next, any ideas please?
Hopefully thanks
Sharon.
If you are on a custom ROM, you could try flashing the applicable Gapps package, as stated above....if not then I'm thinking the factory reset would be next step, as much as a pain that it is.
Just backup and reset

'Unfortunately, that is unavailable with this device' - Assistant

Hey all,
Over the last few months, I haven't been able to get Google assistant to make phone calls or send text messages. All other functions work.
When I say, 'call my wife', or 'send text message to wife', it tells me that function is unavailable.
It used to work flawlessly.
I have changed nothing to cause it. I just woke up one morning and it didn't work.
So far I have tried:
-Factory reset
-clear cache, etc
-Magisk hide on assistant app, call manager, Google play services and google text to speech
I am on latest stable Oos with latest XxX Rom.
The issue started around 3 months ago.
Where should i be looking to fix this?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Does anyone know of any other forums I can post this question? I can't post in the OnePlus forums yet because of new member restrictions. I'm just trying to get more coverage for my issue so that I can get help solving it.

Not sure but that happened to me too but here's what i did
1. Boot into twrp
2. Wipe system, vendor and cache no need to wipe data unless you don't care losing your files DO NOT REBOOT
3. Flash latest oos either 9.0.9 or beta Q is up to you DO NOT REBOOT
4. Flash twrp REBOOT
You'll all set if you need root just flash magisk
Let me know if it worked for you

I did all this on Sunday hoping that it would fix the issue. It hasn't.
Additional info: I have also just discovered that if I open the assistant app and type in 'call.........' or 'message........' , it says there is no app installed to perform that function.

Don't think this will be useful, this is an Assistant issue, reflashing the ROM probably won't help.

Can you check in the settings, under Apps, and Default Apps, if you correctly have a Phone app and an SMS app set as default ? Or maybe the Google App does not have the permissions it needs (Phone Calls and SMS permissions), you could also check that. This is probably a little thing like this, it's 99% sure it's an app or configuration issue.
Both apps are set as default and all apps have all permissions ticked.
I too have the issue and have tried several things with no luck.
I've also been experiencing this. It's been pretty frustrating when trying to use the assistant with android auto.
What ROM are you guys running? I wonder if there is any similarities between our devices.

Device managed by admin unable to set up google account [pixel 2]

Got this second hand google pixel 2 from a seller yesterday while setting up and connected to internet .until I started receiving a notification saying "Device managed by admin - Automatically resetting soon." When I tap on it, it gives me an error saying "Device setup keeps stopping". I checked the phone's IMEI but it doesn't classify as lost/stolen. If I try to factory reset the phone, it asks me for a "@google.com" adress. My question is, should I be worried? Is there any way to fix this?
You basically got a phone from a student who sold it to make some money and this is the property of a school. You could try to flash the whole OS again, but the choice is up to you
i can reflash the OS but i guess , the imei is saved in the portal of the school/company , so when i connect to internet it will again show the same message.
Just try it, maybe it's just a software solution
Ok thanks

I guess the shorter version is to just set it up offline and turn on usb debugging from the settings.
I don't think you even have how to proceed entering the work email by providing a simple gmail.
Anyhow,
This is what I've tried and done and it works great on Android 11 as long as there is no factory restet.
But this does not work on Android 12.
Do you have any solution for that?
Thank you!

the above solution worked for 11 and 12
normal Gmail account you can add quickly before the phone gives this error. Like within 1 minute after resetting the phone
I also got a pixel 3 XL phone with this issue as it accepted only google.com email and said it was managed by IT Admin, and I got this post and few others on this topic, followed the instructions given with my phone, I got a success on the last window. and my current android version is 12.
sannanthetraveller,I wanted to ask what should be followed now to setup the phone so to avoid this issue coming up again.
and any other suggestions while using the phone, whether to disable anything like auto update check or?
Please let know.

Play Store missing after flashing new firmware

Hi
I have a s20 ultra, the original OS\firmware was for Brazil.
I flashed a new original ILO CSC firmware from sam-mobile, used patched odin and changed csc to ILO with SamFw_FRP_Tool
After flashing I added and logged in to my google account and samsung account on the phone.
Now the Play Store is missing.
It does not show in the APPS (at settings) or as an available google service for the device.
what can I do?
Flash another firmware? do something else?

Tried that already.
Is says installed when finished and there you can choose OPEN.
But nothing opens and it's like nothing changed.
PS: The option "reset" in settings is also missing.
Took the phone to a local service lab and they worked on it for 2 days already but could not fix the problem. still they are optimistic.
They say that probably something went wrong with the flashing process, but i suspect that it might be something to do with EDM policy, software is installed on the phone but can not be accessed.
I hope the service lab will fix it.

Tried to wipe cache partition.
What I did notice, is that in my phone's recovery mode, there is no "wipe data\factory reset" line.
I wish I did a nandroid backup before the update, but i said to myself that this is a new phone and i have no data on it, so there's nothing to lose.
I suspect that only if someone could contribute such a backup of his own original nand, it might fix the problem.
But i am not sure if it is indeed possible to go back to an older boot loader this way.

An older firmware will probably have a lower binary version and Samsung has things in place to prevent flashing a lower binary. Downgrade isn't possible unless the downgraded firmware has a binary that is equal to the binary of the currently installed firmware.
You dont need playstore, get aurorastore instead, or fdroid.

S20 Ultra with official firmware should have play store.
If it is missing then it was probably a problem with the flash, or wrong firmware or security, no reason to use a play store alternative, all reason for fixing the base problem.
I am trying to figure out what went wrong and how to fix it.

Updating...
I found out what was wrong with my phone.
I was sold a phone which is a demonstration managed by knox phone.
Knot would not let the phone have Play Store or the ability to reset it.
This is something that can not be changed unless you root the phone and kill knox.
Knox at first start sends the IEMI of the phone to the server, and since the IEMI is on a list , knot controls it. no way to remove the IMEI from the list since it's in samsung's servers not on the personal device.
I returned the phone to the seller today and received a refund.
