Budget friendly minimal 3a case - Google Pixel 3a Accessories

I have no relations to the company, just found it on Amazon and bought it. It doesn't add that much drop protection but adequately protects it for being so slim. It fits like a glove and doesn't cover the buttons or flex out on the sides.

Hello,
It looks exactly like they pictured, or like the minimal 3a case, there is a very slight, finished seem on the side that you cannot feel by hand but is there if you inspect it up close.

I dunno how it will look ona white pixel 3a xl thats why i asked,if you have a black pixel then ignore my rumbling XD

I do indeed have a black one but you can search mnml case on white pixel 3 on Google to get an idea. The only slight issue with the case is that the camera lip blocks the led out put on one corner by the tiniest bit. I'm guessing that most would not have noticed, but I work with cameras and image control for a living.

Spigen Rugged Armor case. Pretty minimal, but does provide decent protection. Only $10.99 on Amazon (Prime eligible). I've had this case on the last 3 phones I've owned and I've never had damage from a drop with any of them.

yeah, i second the spigen . caveat is i have only been using a week and have not dropped it yet , so no idea about level of protection. but as a minimal it wins as far as my tastes go.

I think the pictures are deceiving. The Spegin case does wrap around the phone just like any other case, but it is not thick at all. The rubber is perhaps 1mm thick on the sides where the phone is the widest. The top lip may be slightly thicker (which is what you see in the pictures) but it doesn't add any addition size to the phone because it is where the phone is rounded anyway. The back is slightly thicker - perhaps 1.5mm.

I bought this Spigen case. I agree that it is not too bulky but it does add a lot of weight... The phone goes from 146g without the case to 178g with the case and it does feel heavier.

The Spigen case is pretty legit. In my opinion it isn't terribly bulky. I've been using it for around 3 or 4 months maybe? Which is how long I've had the phone for. Offers pretty good protection. Gone through a good amount of drops, phone is commonly abused by a toddler, and no sign of damage anywhere.
I'd opt for a slimmer case, but the phone being very probe to being abused by a toddler makes me opt for something with more protection haha.

A fast review of my Resin Skin Case

I ordered this on Feb 12 and got it today Feb 16, would of probably been faster if it wasn't for the weekend and Presidents day.
Unlike my first of the same color with checkered marks, this one is clear and smoke colored, Fitment is fine, putting it on for the first time was a tight fit but it will give you the peace of mind that once its ON, its ON forever and this sucker isnt going anywhere. Fitment is perfect and all holes line up. What I like most about this is that it extends over the Camera lens unlike the previous one in which there was no protection at all.
I like it and will be ordering from these guys in the future.
www.googlenexusoneaccessories.com for $12.99, price might be a little high but I am very satisfied.
Not a bad price for a perfect fit & good protection!
Is this actually a crystal case? if so then I think it's a little too steep on the price.
But it does have an acrylic / rubbery look to it compared to a normal crystal case, but then again, also the pictures are quite blurry.

No its not a crystal case. Its a silicon resin case thats somewhat elastic. Yeah those pics are blurry but thats the best I can do for now since I used my G1 to take the shots.

Just looked at the invoice and its listed as :
NEXUS ONE CANDY SKIN CASE - TRANSPARENT SMOKE
you will not regret buying this.
How does the feel of the case compare to the Checkered/Argyle smoke case? That's the case I have right now, and I would definitely be interested in upgrading if the material feels the same.
Ordered yesterday and awaiting ship notification.
Does this still work if you put it in the dock?
Just ordered. Waiting for shipping conf. I got the clear candy one. I like the look of the N1 so if I can show it off as much as possible great.
I am getting this mostly for the grip and feel. Though it is nice it will protect it.

No it will not work on a dock, if you have no plans of using a dock then this is the way to do. I dont think that there are any cases out there that will work with the Nexus dock.
Would the case block the camera lens?
The case does not block the camera lens. There is a small opening over the center of the glass lens so while the lens is protected from most scratches I haven't seen any effect on pictures (thought I haven't taken many). One thing i noticed though is that the small opening seems to attract dust which is hard to wipe off. A can of compressed air solves that problem though.
Think I might just order this one, using the checkered case right now and would love the cover for the camera lens.
BTW, there's a 15% off coupon for this website. Just use the code "nexus15". (w/o quotes).
Makes the total $11.04.
Is this better then the crystal cases?
How much thickness does this add to the phone? I am interested in some protection for my nexus, but don't want to double its thickness like many of the rubber cases do.
Just received the case. Here are the goods:
Fits perfectly
Protects the camera without ruining pictures
Flexible rubbery plastic provides good protection
And the bad:
Couldn't get it to fit properly with my phantomskinz
Harder to get the charger to plug in (inserted at slight angle)
Overall it's very good. It'll protect against most falls but you'll still need a screen protector. It fit over my phantomskinz snuggly but the skin and the case kept rubbing and sticking together making it difficult to install properly (some of the alignment was off) so I opted to remove the back parts of my skin - now it fits perfectly.
-And the bad:
---Harder to get the charger to plug in (inserted at slight angle)
I can confirm this. Nothing a little exacto work couldn't fix though
It looks so good, does it fit to the phone?

slimmest case

Whats the slimmest case you guys have came across...all I basically want is scratch protection.
I dont like cases, but always try to find the slimmest one possible...for instance, totalle makes a case for the iphone called the scarf thats paper thin.
any comments will be appreciated.
thanks
I bought the adopted one and awaiting the spigen case for the 6P. I think if you want thin, the Google case/Adopted case will probably work best for you. It is really thin and makes the case more grippy although I have heard that some cases may block the laser autofocus on the camera. Ringke also offers a very thin case but I've only had it for my Xperia. If you are patient, wait a month and there should be some more detailed reviews on the cases. If not, out of the available cases, the Google ones seem to be the most popular thin cases. Wish you the best in your search.
Get a skin. Slickwraps has them for $10 and you can use "xda" for a discount code.

I too bought the Adopted case from google but it is not a slim case. it adds bulk so i'm looking for a new slim case. Thinking of getting one of these
http://www.amazon.com/Google-Huawei...&qid=1447104935&sr=1-1&keywords=nexus+6p+slim
http://www.amazon.com/DGtle-Anti-Sc...&qid=1447104935&sr=1-2&keywords=nexus+6p+slim
Try J&D tpu case from Amazon. I got it and its much thinner than I expected.
Can anybody comment on the J&D case vs Diztronic, Tudia, DGtle? If J&D truly is thinner than those, then I'll grab one as well.
Another slim one is the Tudia case on Amazon.
Im also looking for a super slim case. Something like an Orzly FlexiSlim (I hope they make it for the 6p, they did one for the 2014 Nexus 6) or a Caufabe Veil XT. Something .0.3mm or 0.5mm thin with a soft semitransparent finish. Has anyone found anything?
If you're going with the skin option, definitely go with dbrand, way better quality.

Agreed there on skins. If I go skin, I *always* go dbrand.
If you want something more than traditional TPU then the Verus case is a good option. It's the thinnest non-TPU case I've ever had for a phone (well, aside from the super thin hard plastic that always cracks after 3 weeks).
I went with this slim case from Kugi: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B014ZJ0538
Thin enough for my liking (doesnt really add too much more to the phone), there are cutaways for the buttons (no actual rubber material on the buttons like the adopted case), and the top and bottom of the case are left open so you dont have to worry about a charger or headphone adapter being too big. And it's cheap.

I ordered and received one of these in gold. It does have a soft touch finish, but at the same time seems to show fingerprint smudges. It is pretty thin, although not as thin as the 0.01 inch or 0.35 mm type cases that are available for other phones. The overall finish/quality of is also somewhat cheap with the cutout for the camera assembly showing leftover plastic. It'll do for now.
You could go with a dBrand skin, or a Spigen Thin Fit or the IMAK case. Those look like the thinnest cases for the 6P so far.

Ah yeah, looks like you may have got a little unlucky with that cutout. I just double checked my cutouts and edges and can say mine look pretty clean cut. I do agree with the fingerprint smudges too, but oil on a matte finish (I went with matte black) is a bit expected so I cant complain too much about that.

Review: MoKo [Heavy Duty] case for Nexus 6P Huawei

Hi guys,
I finally got around to doing a review on the Moko Heavy Duty Case for my 6P. I ordered this on amazon.ca. I've rocked this case for about a week now since I did that video, and I am pleasantly surprised.
The cutouts are precise, and the case does not look or feel cheap. The fingerprint scanner is easy to use still as well. The plastic is pretty soft, and I don't think it would stay on on its own without the black shell, but it does fit perfectly. Also, didn't notice much pocket lint or anything else sticking to it like some have reported. Overall it's a great option for a more rugged case for the Nexus 6P, especially here in Canada, where the options can be sparse. Here's the link from amazon.
Nexus 6P Case - MoKo [Heavy Duty] Full Body Rugged Holster Cover with Swivel Belt Clip - Dual Layer Shock Resistant for Huawei Google Nexus 6P 5.7 Inch Smartphone 2015, PURPLE https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00JP6J1A0/ref=cm_sw_r_other_awd_HnYMwbXKYG11S
11 bucks plus tax, and since I have PRIME, also got free 2 day shipping. Yes, I have a compulsive online shopping problem...
I will also post reviews for my Spigen Rugged Armour and a Poetic Revolution cases shortly.

I've got one in blue but I don't use it anymore. It's a pretty nice case and the quality is fantastic I just wish they would stop putting those huge bumps on the back for no reason. They serve absolutely no purpose and double the thickness of the phone. They do this on these cases for all phones and just still makes no sense.

You might be interested in this CoverON case, which has no such huge bumps on the back. It has an unusual 3-piece design, with a hard plastic piece that snaps on from the front of the phone (in addition to the usual one from the back), locking the soft TPU in place in the middle. I'm quite happy with the build quality, and because of the design it seems like possibly the toughest case you can get that (a) still looks even remotely normal and (b) doesn't have an integrated plastic screen protector, making it easy to add a tempered-glass one of your own. (Note, though—I have an IntelliArmor "case-friendly" TGSP, and it fits perfectly but with absolutely no room to spare. Full-coverage TGSPs will definitely interfere with the TPU at the edges of the screen, although because of the way the case fits together you might be able to get them to nestle nicely under it without lifting up.)

I have the black version. Based on the pictures on Amazon the colors looked like they'd be pretty in-your-face, especially since the highlight color is visible directly around the edges of the screen. I'm afraid I don't have any holsters—I've never used one.
I realize, I forgot to mention the most important thing! The headphone and USB-C cutouts on this case, as shipped, are not large enough for most cables. The stock USB-C cable fits but scuffs the sides, many high-quality third-party cables won't, and the only headphone plugs that will fit are the super-tiny ones that some headphones have for exactly this reason. But! If you have a decent utility knife, some courage, and a steady hand, it's possible to enlarge the cutouts without messing up the case. (I cut away a tiny bit of the TPU near the jacks as well, since it was being deformed when plugging in a cable.) With this done it works beautifully—the case is even thin enough to use a Square credit-card reader in the headphone jack.

Official samsung clear case

I bought the clear case. TMobile sells them. Compared to other minimal cases i have had in the past (and one other Amazon case for the note7) it seems better. It hugs the curves ans shape of the device perfectly, and the holes line up EXACTLY which often isn't the 'case' for 3rd party cases. It's also very thin and light and on my silver note7 it's hardly noticeable.

its $20ish. Will post pictures when I can figure out how to do so as I sold my Note5 already!!. Its a very soft TPU case.
I have been looking for photos, videos and reviews of this case too but they seem non existent so far. Whatever info you can post would be great.
I've been into slim clear cases for a long time. I'd like to appreciate the body down to its finest lines and curves, caressing its smooth texture, feeling the little tips and points where they sprout along the edges, admiring the beauty that is gleaming in front of me, wanting to grab........ok well you get the point. I risked my phones going naked for these reasons for a long time, but alas, the Note 7 might require a case from me.
Anyways, I would search high and low for thin slim clear cases that would
1) wont produce so much fingerprint smear
2) smooth as buttah
3) wont stick to the glass backing and create a rainbow effect
4) doesnt have sharp lips
5) its flush against the edges.
Now yes, it does attract fingerprints but less so since its soft TPU and I've come to accept the annoyance that comes with using clear cases that its inevitable. Aside from that it meets the rest of my requirements. Not all soft TPU cases are alike. This particular O.E.M clear case feels good in the hands. Soft, smooth (almost like hard plastic), and at times grippy. I unfortunately do not have pictures to show but may post them later. If you are highly interested, I suggest stopping by your local t-mobile store to try it on first. If you like it buy it, if not keep searching. Good luck! :good:
I ordered this case and and I really like it but I'm a fan of slim/minimalistic cases that showcase the design of phones. The material is a soft rubber(?) not a hard shell. It's clear so it does show a lot of fingerprints but it fits the phone perfectly. The case feels tacky/grippy so the phone feels extra secure when you're holding it.

Got this one as well. Got the Note 7 starter pack from Samsung which contained
TPU case clear
2 pcs screen protector
1 pc tilted wireless charger
Pros: tpu case is very minimal in when it comes to thickness so thats a plus.
Con: it doesnt have raised edges. So if you placed your phone upside down, the screen itself would be touching the table. And worse, if you drop it face down, the screen would take much of the impact
Screen protector:
Pro: its a curved platic screen protector so it wraps on the edges
Con: its thicker than your usual screen protector. Almost as thick as those invisashield ones. The more important negative on this, since it wraps around the whole screen even the edges. When i bought a Spigen Liquid Crystal case (for raised edges). When i slipped it on, it peels the side of the screen protector.
Tilted wireless charger is a tilted wireless charger. Nothing to comment except that it takes getting used to. Its just easier to charge with the flat version when it comes to just dropping your phone. Tilted one requires a little more alignment

At 1st,I wouldn't have thought there'd be much in the way of cases,as I believed production was gonna be frozen @ 10,000 units.
However,I've seen in a few articles/etc.... stating that was the number per month,so,perhaps we'll see a better variety soon should that pan out..
I haven't Googled for anything on the subject of quantities,so IDK which way/how long this phone will be in production.
I'm set w/cases,but,I'm always looking around. If I find anything,I'll post it in this section of the Mi MIX forum. :good:
I saw a LOVE MEI powerful case for the MI mix on ebay.
I looks decent. Certainly the most protective case out there.
It'll make the mix pretty chunky but what can you do.

Considering I was using a thin clear Tpu case till now and I dropped my MI mix with no damage twice now with that very case. I'm positive this case will protect my phone really well.

I ordered the same one.
It looks like the love Mei will make the phone a good ..... 1.5 cm? taller? That's too much for me, the MIX is barely pocketable as is.
What I mainly want is:
1) More protection on the corners
2) A thick lip around the screen to protect against front face-falls. (or just so I can lay the phone screen down with less worry)
Basically an urbanarmorgear type of case.
EDIT:
Just noticed this one:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Slim-Silico...hash=item51f11b8c3e:m:mLw9P_jxAXUMPG59DBBUCAA21
Which is not bad! less padding on the corners, but decent lip and kickstand is welcome.
Edit2: and another one! Where were these 5 days ago?

This case kinda sucked. the buttons were very hard to push. The kickstand is extremely flimsy and it would probably break quickly.

This one is not bad, and it's the one I'm using. It feels like tough rubber.
The buttons are easier to push than the stock case (volume easier than power).
There's probably 1 mm of lip thickness. better than stock case (which had what, half a mm?).
I'd like something thicker, but it's okay for now.

I find it funny and strange that some would want to use such case. You bought a phone without bezel and you put on a case that has so much bezel. Sure you won't break the phone but...don't know, it may just be me thinking that. I personally go for the low profile case to keep Mix's original style.

Exactly my thoughts. Even I bought the Love Mei Powerful case considering how fragile this device is. But like you said, using the Love Mei case is like adding bezels to a bezel less device. The Mix would lose its advantange over other flagships at that point.
Then it got me thinking that I bought this device paying a premium over the current all round flagships, sacrificing the camera quality, all because I could experience the bezel-less display.
So I may return the Love Mei case or keep it for when the phone requires more protection during outings or outdoor activities.
I'll stick to slimmer cases that stick to the design while offering some form of shock absorption for my daily use.
Not my reason

I am buying a phone because of the large screen, not the lack of bezel, it also has 6GB ram and a Snapdragon 821.
I do not care about thin bezels, I like the look of the phone, but without the extra grip/bezel (where I can more easily place my fingers and wrap my hand around the phone) my Ehlers danlos, psoriatic arthritis (mainly confined to my lower body, but it has been migrating), and my CRPS (a nerve disorder) make it very hard and painful for me to hold since most phones are so slippery and I can't provide the needed pressure to hold onto it. Which is why I had to give up a lot of cases which I liked on my 6P (the carved case, a few wood skins, and simpler hard plastic cases) just due to I wasn't able to hold the phone that well.

I think with this case: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01NBLZGW6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_6xTBybS483WH7
You can forget about the look of the phone, as this case pretty much cover up the whole phone and change it's dimension and body ratio. No one can tell it's a Mix you are using, or any other phone for that matter because this case is one of the highest profile case I have ever seen. But I do feel your pain, and I understand your need, I hope you find something suitable for you. And enjoy your phone! Everyone buys it for different reasons.

What are the dimensions of the Love mei case?
In particular, the height, which affects pocketability?

Some people, like me, don't care.
Interestingly, I have yet to have anyone actually comment on my phone in public.
(although I don't exactly go waving it around or anything).
Also Most of my friends don't like big phones, so their first impression is usually "oh yuck, too big". ha ha ha

I did a quick search on how big this case actually is, i can't find data for Mix in particular, but the same case for other phones suggested that it's about 1cm on each side. so you have 1cm on left bezel, 1cm on right, 1cm on top and 1cm on bottom. I can't find out how much thickness it would add to the phone as it does has an extra gorilla glass. If you ever used an Otterbox case before, i think it has similar footprint. It would however adds quite a bit of weight to your phone due to it's material.
So 1cm at bottom may not a big deal, 1cm on top would however take off the bezel-less feeling of Mix, (i think that's the most noticeable part of Mix, the top). And 1cm for side bezel is not small either. It will quite simply make this bezel-less phone the most bezel phone in 2016.
Just for fun, original Mix has the following dimensions: 158.8 x 81.9 x 7.9 mm
If the info is correct and the Love Mei case does add 1cm (10mm) to all sides, it will make the dimension to be 178.8 x 101.9 x thickness unknown.
So on front screen (length x width) alone, you are looking at 40% size increase already. And you times that with whatever thickness the case adds so i guess we are looking at around 45% size increase at least. (Could be much more since LoveMei has quite an unique way to put on case with many different layers.
For quick comparision, the case I am using is adding 0.6mm instead of 10mm xD. But protection wise, you can't go run with LoveMei case. I feel like you can take this case to warzone and throw at people as a weapon.

Here is a link to their official page. They have a lot of pictures showing the phone in the case. As you can zee, it does increase the dimensions but not by much. Its just as if adding bezels to the device. Its definitely not 1cm on all sides as mentioned above. But more like 5mm. Also the case isn't very thick from what I see in the images.
Yes, your phone will look taller and wider than it actually is.
Mine is still on the way. Haven't received yet. Will update once I receive it.
Made some mistake in my calculation, if the lovemei case is adding 1cm on each side, on front screen alone, that's a 40% size increase already. Then you times that with the thickness to get the overall size increase.
While searching on net, saw some cases. Just posting in the forum as reference.
