Google Camera Port
for the Realme 5
A thread for discussion about GCam for this phone. Basic features seem to work on versions from Arnova8G2 and BSG.
Downloads:
Devs share their apk's in multiple places (here on XDA, 4PDA, telegram groups and channels, etc). I compile many of them here:
- celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/ (click on the dev name to see their files)
(Update) Two new threads with versions for this phone:
- https://forum.xda-developers.com/realme-5-pro/themes/share-google-camera-7-0-009-functions-t3985279
As mentioned above, versions from BSG and Arnova seem to work, but try versions from other developers too. If you find a good version, share it here (file name and link if possible) to help other users.

I think bulkin's gcam versions should work mostly since the Redmi Note 7 and 7 Pro use same megapixel camera. Furthermore Realme 5 Pro and Redmi Note 7 Pro use even the same Sony camera sensor. So I don't know why shouldn't they work on Realme 5 Pro. My device is on the way from China. I'll do a test as soon as it arrives and be able to write a review.

Hi all,
Please report here if you are able to use Gcam 7. I have tried almost all versions that are out now, but could only use panorama and video. Moving to photo either force closes or freezes preview.
Gcam working for me is 6.2.030. (slomo dont work and only rear main camera works at 12 mp). But night sight, great performance.

Can any one please give me the Realme XT stock camera APK or a link for downloading it?

On stock rom and lineage you can try bsg's 7+ gcam ports. They work for me. Jean-luc's minikon camera works fine too with great quality.

Hahah. Lol. This is an old message. After this i found out working version and we already had a chat about it, remember?. I use gcam 6.2 for regular pics because it's the best for any lighting condition, and use gcam 7 only for astrophotograpgy.

Right. I forgot about that. Indeed. And it seems that you've found a newer version that works nicely. I've been experimenting with it and it takes quite nice pictures.

?.

I can't find a gcam version that captures true HDR every gcam app has tendency to highlight clipping, HDR of stock camera as well as nightscape has balance output although gcam captured lots of details and much accurate color output

Try this minikon gcam port. Works very well. For better colors turn awb to Pixel 3/Pixel 3a.

[APP] CameraNext CM12.1 - 4K video & Save to SD Card support

I've tried many camera apps and its been pretty laggy and I'm not sure if it is only happening to me.
So I've been searching everywhere for a camera app that is simple and supports 4k video recording with save to SD Card feature.
I finally found it after searching around the OnePlus One subforum! Test and works smoothly with CM12.1.

Pardon me if I made any mistake! I'm totally new here
p.s. not sure if this has been posted before at LG G3 forum..
Hello. I too feel most cameras are laggy so was keen to try. Installed on cloudy 2.2 copies the 2 files and changed permissions. However app will not open? Any ideas??
well they only work on cyanogen mod based roms
Tested it on my CM12.1-running G3...
It works, but the quality is just not that good. I compared the shots taken with CameraNext and Google Camera, the Next seemed very poor.
I've already installed it properly and set it to 13MP and 100% quality.
The 4K recording also doesn't work well, it stutters pretty bad. The frames are too low.
Any of you guys know how to figure this out?
In case this helps:

would this work with aosp?
4k for CM 12 based roms on G3 is crap.
I can appreciate the OP coming here to share but the frame rate is low and barely looks like 4k, same with Snapcam which also supports 4k.
Recording 60fps?

Improve Night Photography with Snap Camera HDR

I came across this thread on reddit yesterday, by user Chlastek, about how low light photography could be improved on the P2. It's basically a simple process as long as you're rooted. I was skeptical initially because I have previously tried several camera apps (open camera, oneplus, etc...) and didn't quite see the purported "noticeable improvement". I checked the sample photos he provided and was surprised that they were really from the P2. I tried it out myself and the photos came out less grainy, sharper, and just better overall.
Check his thread on reddit for more details. All credits go to him; I'm just the messenger.

This Camera app is a great upgrade for our p2 but not a magic application... unfortunately.
After different tests, we can have good results and "correct photos" in the worst conditions :

Thank you so much for sharing this!
I've been trying out the various camera apps and ports for a while now, but results were always disappointing!
This one is absolutely awesome, and by my tests it works pretty well on daylight too.. if you zoom the pictures taken in auto mode with low light mode on you'll notice they don't have that terrible high-contrast post processing you get with the other apps
Just in case someone's having trouble finding "low light mode" (like I was), in settings - other - Use Camera2 API -> On
Hi
I installed as above but was getting the legacy warning for api2 and read the below which is from the xda thread for the snap camera app.
So not sure if it actually works better (on Lenovo p2) ?
Qte:
I'm almost certain that your phone won't support Camera2, if you get a message about being in "legacy" mode when switching to it then you should never use camera2 mode.
Edit: disregard above had a typo in the command line of build.prop. now there is no more warning about legacy more. Installed also Google camera her+ with same tweak in build prop

Anyone able to get Video Stabilization to work again after Pie update?

I really need this feature and it's gone since Pie update , I wonder if it's a bug or they intentionally removed it?
Anyone able to get the stabilization to work or any method to revert the camera app to the older version?
Please help!!!
I was under the assumption video stabilisation is on always.. You can't turn it off. Hence there's no option in the settings anymore....

I wish it was like that but I'm pretty sure it is not!!!
The video recording is shaking as hell and it doesn't make sense to have in on all the time since EIS doesn't work with 60FPS and 4K and that would be really confusing.
Using gcam you get the option to turn video stabilisation on/off.

But the same, when you switch to 4k it disables it....I do think gcam video stabilisation works better than native app....

Your quite tight you won't find it in the Playstore as its a modified version of the camera app that goes into the pixel phones.
There's very little versions, if any now, that work OK with this phone. Not many developers are trying to port the app to the honor note 10. Not popular enough or to old.
The one I'm using is the latest version I can find that works OK with the Note 10. Albeit an old version now as the latest version of Gcam have loads more features..
https://www.dropbox.com/s/pgiqyolksmycxbf/GoogleCamera_5.1.018.apk?dl=0
Download it and see how you get on.
If you're in tested in trying other modded apk's, then check out this Web page. It has hundreds of modded versions....but beware a lot of them just won't run of freeze the phone when the app is opened.. Good luck.. [emoji1303]

GCam face retouch not working

Hi All,
Which GCam release should I use with my Poco F2 Pro so that face retouching will work?
I have tried Urnyx05 7.3 (2.4 to 2.6), Urnyx05 8.1 and also BSG's 8.1. Face retouching works in none of them. I tried changing the face retouching settings as well. I used the corresponding config files for the Poco F2 Pro too. I'd rather use GCam than some annoying ad-riddled selfie app.
Also, what is the basic difference between snapcam, ruler, MGC, ENG, scan3D flavors of a GCam?
Thank you so much in advance.
Best,
Satish

Did you work around the Problem?
I am using GCam on my Poco F2 Pro, tried so many different versions and never figured out how to make face retouch to work.
Apparently some dev settings should be changed I suppose. Tried the above form the comments but did not work.
Currently using the versions BSG_8.5.300
And LMC_8.4.300

Question Focus issue on Video recording in 60FPS mode

Hi guys,
is there a solution for this problem? The focus doesn't work properly in 60FPS Video recording mode, always zooms in/out before focusing. I think the problem is known, but is there also a solution?
Thank you.

Every camera app, stock miui 12.5.5 global.
Sample video will be uploaded when I am back home.
Here is a short Video. You can see, that the focus always goes in/out before it finds the right spot.

I'm not expert in this, but it should be related to physics :

Consider Focal Length
A short focal length, (or wide-angle lens) will usually have a deeper depth of field. You can see below as the lens gets longer, the image around the subject gets a bit blurrier. So keep your focal length short.
Shorter focal yields greater depth of field
Understanding Deep Depth of Field
This article answers what is deep depth of field by touching on depth of field and aperture. It focuses on how large depths of field create sharper images.
www.studiobinder.com
I think all video auto focusing does the same thing.
It needs to first detect between at least 2 samples to find out the good focus point.
And as the focus length changes, the picture will be zoom in/out.
The 1st and 2nd picture shows you the image height will change if the focus changes, which will zoom in/out. This is normal.
Solution ?...
Maybe lock the focus (if you can) and move your phone manually to find the best focus.
In GCam there's focus-tracking and some video stabilization methods, maybe it will help on focus a single object faster ?
Wenn thank you, but in 30FPS mode it works perfect. Also the 60FPS mode on my Note8Pro works fine, so it's just a problem on the X3 Pro... strange. I will give GCam another try.

GCam for X3 Pro
Hi, For those with the POCO X3 Pro, what is the best GCam that is currently available to use - most stable, with better quality, etc.... I have tested some GCams from X3 NFC, but is a shot in the dark - some work, but i think is room to improve...
forum.xda-developers.com
There's some xml files to set for GCam on Poco X3 Pro for better performance. Use the GCam in the thread.
There's also Telegram group for Poco X3 Pro, you can ask there as well. Might be more photo/video experts there to answer and deal with this problem.
