Amazon Music HD - LG V30 Accessories

This seems like something that should go in accessories, but Amazon just introduced a lossless streaming level, and they have a 90 day free trial on it. I'm giving it a shot! Seems like it might be made for those of us with a nice Quad-DAC phone

Thanks! Did not know that. I'll have to check it out

For those of you who try this, I'll be interested to hear if you can get anything higher than 48KHz from Amazon music HD. From reddit reports (here) and Amazon's own FAQ (here) I get the impression that they are limiting Android devices to 48KHz.
If they are indeed able to stream in full 192KHz -- or if UAPP finds a way to support it (here) then it seems a welcome competitor to Tidal and Qobuz.

The reddit link I posted contained a screenshot that displays Track Quality vs Device Capability vs Currently play at. I assume that's the Amazon app.
In any case would I also check the audio_flinger dump, as described at the bottom of this UAPP support page -- it applies to any audio player, not just to UAPP.
I am swamped right now, no time to test Amazon Music. I'll be signing up for their trial when I have more time, but probably not for a few more months.

I would recommend Tidal Master Plan if You have the 20 Bucks per Month. Amazon Music doesn't looks like a real alternative on Android thanks to the Limitations of their App...

Yea it is, I have the older non HD version which you can probably find on ebay for $150. I didnt buy it with the intention of using it on my phone, that was an added bonus. I travel alot and am a huge jets fan. with the slingbox i could watch the games where ever i was, and the only other option was NFL sunday ticket from direct TV - which i think is like $299 so it made sense getting one

makes sense I guess. The HD one really provides a good HDstream? I was wondering if you could record shows with that thing as well?
I dont know too much about the HD one, the regular one works just fine for me - i have a 47 inch 1080p HD tv that i hook it up too from my computer when im not home - gratned the quality itsnt the best but its more then watchable (expecially for streaming media blown up that big) . . . upsteam connections from my house are around 800k, and it uses all that is available which is stable for the most part.
I think i saw somewhere on the website something about a Hard drive and DVR functionality.
looks like there is some 3rd party software that lets you record from it.

Yea I agree skyfire is nice try but not really a feasible thing... especially probably not for VGA devices... Damn ADOBE GET WITH IT...
If Playon transcodes the stream based on pipe size or media renderer, you could easily get uPNP working by setting up a VPN. I haven't heard of many other media servers that will do netflix (at least not stable).

[APP] Live T.V. Subscription 1TVPC.COM 3000 CH.

Stumbled across this when streaming free TV app. They have a great deal of content, live channel, movies on demand and HBO, HBO needs a Window Plug-In though. The Other players work and are built in, some optimized for Adobe 10.1, the others, not so good. Overall, I think 24.99 subscription for first 6 months is very reasonable for what is available. You can watch on multiple computers as long as you want. Streaming live TNT works really well on Nexus in stock browser. Also player allows you to go full screen. After first 6 months it goes back to regular price of 35 or 36 something like that. But if you don't like you can always cancel. They also have great support, from what I have read. Right now I'm streaming HBO from my PC and simultaneously TNT from my phone logged in at both places. So if you want live TV on your phone at an affordable price, with a wide variety of content, this is an option. It's user friendly with search bar, and built in players. Here is the Link: http://www.1tvpc.com/

Must be a full moon or something. This is the app theme section right, No spam here. It's not actually an app but , I thought others might be interested in the option. It streams through the browser live shows that are on TV. Is that better for you?

I'm not trying to convince anyone to get this. I have it now and using it on three different computers, 2 laptops and the Nexus. Just have a look around and see. It's not something you hook up to your TV like Sling Box. Basically it uses the function of Adobe 10.1 and brings a variety of TV and live TV content to our phones and computers. You could probably find these place on your own each site and bookmark them, but i don't want to deal with that hassle. I tried looking for a few places by Googling them, and a lot of times I came up empty or it was just video, not live streams.

In my opinion. It is worth it. Here's what I know works straight from the phone , tried and tested. FX Channel, USA Network, TNT, TBS, MSNBC, CNN, HISTORY CHANNEL, ESPN, FOOD NETWORK, LIFETIME MOVIE NETWORK AND DISCOVERY CHANNEL. All of these channel work very well on the Nexus one right off the browser. So, hell yes, it is worth it. and you can use it on multiple computers. I already feel my money was well spent. And those are the immediate channels that I tested. Very good quality. Plus the built in player allows you to go full screen.
To the person who said something about not being a Nazi. This is really an app or software that works directly with Adobe 10.1 Flash. If you don't have that app, it wont work. So, really this is only an option available to those who have FROYO. It is an outside app, software that works through the browser as a subscription, that streams live TV using Adobe app Flash 10.1. the player is exclusive to them, BoxLIVE TV streamer and that is also part of the package that is being payed for. Without it it wont work on the phone.
The only channel that doesn't work on the phone is HBO. It does however work on the computer lap top with Windows Media player 11 plug in.

24.99 is for the first 6 months. Then 34.99 for every 6 months after. Jetflicks TV in the market is 29.99 for 6 months and doesn't offer any live channels, but has a wide variety to choose from.(shows). Sling box is connected to your cable TV. Which means you must have the Sling Box and cable tv + the app in order for it to work. Approximately 200 for box and and app on the market and the price of your cable every month. 1tvpc you don't need cable at all. All premium channels work on the Nexus except HBO. FX, USA,TNT TBS SPIKE TRUTV DISCOVERY CHANNEL CNN MSNBC HISTORY CHANNEL ESPN ESPN 2 LIFETIME MOVIE NETWORK ABC CBS NBC all these live channels work on Nexus. Plus there is no interruption like Mobi TV asking if your still watching. I fell asleep watching TNT in the morning when I awoke it was still on, streaming on Nexus. You can also create favorites so all you channels are easy to navigate within one location.

Music production

Hi all,
Anyone know of any decent music production apps? I've got Uloops but compared to Tabletop for the iPad its pretty dull.
Hope there is something a bit more feature packed avaiable on coming soon.
Cheers
I picked up SPC when it was free a few weeks ago on the Amazon Appstore. Check out the video on the market page, it's a lot of fun.
I don't know of anything in Android comparable to GarageBand on the iPad but if you do find something along those lines (or anything else of interest for that matter), be sure to post it back here!
Caustic is pretty good

Nice, cheers for both of them, will give them ago.
There's a decent app called Plasma Sound HD which is kind of like a synth pad. Worth looking at if you havent already, hopefully it will work in conjunction with some of these apps
Try Reactable.
I can't figure out how to use it but I only gave it a try for 2 minutes. It's $10 but should work similarly to this:

I'll give it a go to on my ASUS Eee Pad Transformer and maybe make a video on how it works for me.
i play with caustic a lot, it's a decent drum machine/sampler

Chordbot lets you play around with chord sequences and provides various musical styles to dress up the chord progressions. I found it helpful for musical compositions and trying out different melodies to go with the chords.
What I like in chordbot and similar apps is... there is only the name of the chord and no information what notes it contains. I never got to learning all the chords names I just use them by intuition (I'm self learned, you can hear my music on Jamendo - search for Tomasz Kucza - and in my games). On Android I tested only Caustic - it's quite fine for fun.
So, what was the ultimate verdict?
Pros and/or Cons....?
Some of these apps are a bit pricey, and I was curious to see how they worked out.
Also, what are you creating? (Genre)
Thanks in advanced.

After trying a few apps I'd say it's a waste of money - these apps are nowhere close to DAWs like Ableton/FL/Logic etc. Maybe FL Mobile will be something good, but if you really need to produce music get a laptop.
I agree they are all a waste of money for producing but they are ok for just for fun.
Might plug my pad into my studio and get caustic used as a synth cubase as theres a sound on it i want to use in a track.
Apart from that they are all a bit of fun

The Ultimate Universal Remote for S4

Smart Remote for Galaxy S4, Current version 1.1.6
MOD EDIT - No Advertising Paid Apps
Im here to tell you about a Universal Remote designed for the S4 that uses the IR sensor that is AMAZING. It has nearly almost all codes for all sorts of things from AV systems, AUX, Blu Ray, Blu Ray Players, CD, Climate Control, DSLR, DTV Converter, DVD, DVD Player, DVD/VCR Combo, Game, IPOD (MP3 players), Laser Disc, Lightning Control, Media Manager, Multizone Systems, Projectors, Receivers, Set Top Box (cable, satellite, and assorted stuff), Soundbar, Subwoofer, Switcher, T HHD DVD Recorder-DVD, TV, TV/DVD Combo, TV/DVD/VCR Combo, TV/VCR, Video Processor, Microsystem, and can request stuff that's not there but theres A LOT of brands available now.
This program is $10 but its so worth it and its very accurate as well as responsive just as a normal remote. May take a few to set up correctly as I was lost with my cable box from my cable provider Metrocast, I have a Pace brand box from my cable company and I had to make sure selected the right one. It give you all sorts of buttons depending on the device you add. The best part is the smart remote system you can create your own buttons, i havn't really tested this part, but its awesome by the sounds of it.
I been playing with this for an hour and I'm seriously impressed with it. I highly recommend spending the $10 on this. Its easy to set up and grasp as long as you can find your brand easy.
I will add pictures later of the remote from like my Xbox and cable remote to show you the different button options i have with each.
(i posted this in the sprint variant section but adding it to the other)

Maybe, but is most expensive than other more complex app in Play Market, don't you think?
App is your and you can make the price you prefer, but I bought a 1-2 $ apps without problems (60-70 times till now), 2-5 $ apps if I need it very much and it is perfectly written. I've never spent 10 $ for an app and I don't know if I'll change my consuetude.

I know it seems steep for paying that much for it and trust me I didnt want to but i tested it and its amazing. Well worth the 10 if it has that many codes for many many devices. a cheap crappy universal remote for a tv is 10 and they break easy, this is designed very well and stable.

Wait for Chromecast or buy Justop A10

Looking to get an android based device for watching Netflix etc. and streaming from my media hub. Thought about repurposing my Galaxy S2 for this but as I can get at least £80 from mobile trade in sites I figure I'd go for this Justop A10 device: http://www.amazon.co.uk/JUSTOP-Andr...reamer/dp/B00D6LEABA/ref=pd_rhf_se_p_t_2_1QAV and keep the phone for a little longer.
However, I like the google cast functionality of the chromecast (probably work around this by using Chrome-to-phone) and the price of the chromecast. If I go for the Justop device (unless someone can recommend a better one at a better price) would it be unreasonable to expect that someday a developer will release a ROM that replicates the Chromecast? Is there anything that the Chromecast can do that these generic android sticks can't and vice versa?
Thanks,
empty

Yes. Just get the chromecast if it does what you want, because it already does it. Well, once you can buy one. Keep in mind that it requires chrome on a PC someplace to play local files.

Decided to go for the Cozyswan S400 (also known as Justop K10A) in the end as will do everything the chromecast can do and more. Also want to start developing my own ROMs for android sticks so will give me a good device to test on (similar, if not identical, hardware to a lot of the other RK3188 devices).
Will probably pick up a Chromecast to play with when they arrive in the UK too as £20-25 is too good an opportunity.
