WETA Note 10+ (snapdragon) TELEGRAM CHANNEL
This here is my personal setup and thought i'd share. Usually i test extensively before releasing to public, but if you do find something detrimental to the usage of your device that is either Force Closing or simply not working, let me know and i will in turn inform whether that is something i will tend to.
WETA is a Magisk Rom. This means that in order to use this you need to have Magisk already installed on your device. It is Based off latest firmware currently. I make it for my own use, adding the mods and things I find important to my daily use.
This ROM is built from stock system images, decompiled and modded by me.

Installation
This Magisk Rom is for Snapdragon SM-N9750 Note 10+ devices only. This means NO you cannot flash this on your Exynos device, and NO this does not mean that your shiny new phone from T-Mobile or any other carrier sold snapdragon device has root and can flash this.
WARNING - This device does not have TWRP yet. (no you cant flash the exynos version), so in the worst case scenario, if the device crashes and bootloops (unlikely) then you will have to wipe data to restore booting capability under a rooted environment. SO BACKUP YOUR CRAP!
This is a simple process once you have root. Root can be had, by unlocking the bootloader, and flashing a pre patched firmware package in Odin. There is a guide in the Guides section to achieve root. I will also upload the pre patched firmware package.
Be aware, this Rom is made using TGY Firmware files, and may not work or even boot on South American or other firmware. I advise using TGY firmware with this Rom module.
At this stage there is no custom kernel. So no need to worry about anything there yet.
After you are rooted, and have installed Magisk Manager and it has its files in place, you can proceed with flashing the Rom zip in Magisk Manager (we have no TWRP yet).
For CSC/ODM/Product Carrier options, see post #3

Useful items
In this post there will be useful info and downloads
Carrier Installer
This is an installer that flashes the Product partition from the SM-N975U model of devices, meaning the files will be in place as a Magisk Module to transform your device into a USA Carrier model for wifi calling and volte etc.
Flash this in Magisk Manager, and read the selections carefully. Choose your carrier code with volume presses.
This will only edit you /efs/imei/mps_code.dat etc to switch to TMB,VZW or whatever carrier you select. This is easy to revert. The rest resides in the Magisk partition making for easy reversal.

I thought you couldn't root SNAPDRAGON? Also, the root guide is for exynos, not snapdragon. Am I missing something?

As stated in the op, the sm-n9750 is the device in question here. Not any USA snapdragon variant.
sm-n9750 is used in Asian countries and some south American.
It's completely unlockable and rootable, and is more compatible with the American carriers than the exynos devices. This is why I buy the Chinese models, and use them on T-Mobile USA

WETA 1.01
USA Carrier options now included in main rom installer.
Fixed non working Carrier functions.
* I use T-Mobile and all functionality is there, Volte, WiFi calling, RCS. I assume the same for Verizon, ATT and Sprint.

This locking of bands is such BS, this would be ideal phone otherwise to use with T-mobile. It lacks band 66, band 71 and also lacks carrier aggregation support on T-mobile US network.

Is it infact better than the exynos version for T-Mobile ? I just purchased without thinking.
The other thought is if even the hardware is present for those bands. The firmware between the U and 0 devices is quite compatible. But from memory I think the modem doesn't flash or fails to boot

i think you may have made a bad decision. There isnt a lot of support for the chinese sd variants for most samsung flagships ( unless im wrong, i am not chinese and dont search chinese forums, but i dont see much on xda). Since you are missing bands 66 and 71 on your phone i see no point in getting it instead of the exynos.

This is N9005XXUDML2 ported to the TMobile N900T and Canadian N900W8 models.
This ROM is pure international stock N9005 for the N900T and N900W8.
So if you are a purist when it comes to ROMs or simply want a ROM that just works then this ROM is for you.
This is a great ROM to use as a base for modding or as a daily driver.
Stability, performance and battery life are my main objectives.
But if you want this same ROM fully loaded with a lot of MODs and tweaks go to Dragons Air thread!
If you are on AT&T, the TMobile N900T works great on AT&T, LTE included.
If you want to use all of part of this ROM to build your own ROM, credit is all I ask.
PLEASE DON'T FLASH THIS ROM OR DRAGONSAIR ON ANY INTERNATIONAL NOTE 3. ONLY WORKS ON THE TMOBILE AND CANADIAN MODELS

What doesn't work:
Samsung Video Player
Built-In Browser. Fix: Use Chrome.
I am on AT&T, so I don't know if after applying the TMobile CSC file WIFI Calling will work or not. Please report back.

Odd - this rom seems very popular over on the T-Mobile forum but it's languishing here.
Anyone with a N900W8 try 1.2?

I think the reason is that the ROM is for the TMobile and Canadian models but I created this proxy thread in the international forum.
I did it to make it more visible for the TMobile and Canadian users.
OMG Yes! Thank you so much for clarifying it is for Canadian Model! I'm still in the dark as to what model is okay to flash and there hasn't been much to info on it. From what my little brain can dig up anyway!!
So I did the update via TWRP, it failed when I left zip checked. After install it shows my old build #??? Make sense?

Hopefully we can start adding mods and features and see how it goes.. Glad its stock though!!

Wait?! So does this mean I can flash T-Mobile Custom Roms on my N900W8?
I've flashed 1.1 via TWRP, and was on MI5 before that, and am curious if doing so upgraded my bootloader - flashing the CSC fudged the build numbers on a bunch of components so am not sure if bootloader is still actually MI5.
Also, do you think you could detail which build versions are altered by flashing the CSC in the OP?
Thanks

The ROM file only contains the /system partition and the compulsion kernel (boot.img) file. The CSC file doesn't change any system files, meaning that after flashing the CSC file the ROM is still internally MJ7, but presenting itself as a TMobile or Canadian device.
Hope this helps, if not let me know.

Except for the LTE bands, I think, both devices N900T and N900W8 have the same hardware. So as long as you don't flash the modem and the ROM/Kernel are for TMobile you should be OK. As always please make a backup of you current ROM before flashing a new one.

Question now is, is the new engroot method valid for the unlocked version (G935U). If so we may have a heck of a phone on our hands, easy to swap carriers and root (I know, Nexus / Nexi can do this too), sexy hardware and a hell of a camera.

I'm definitely wondering this as well. I'm grabbing the firmware that shipped with the device from SamFirm since the only web links I could find were behind rapidgator premium links, but not sure if I am feeling brave enough to try the engroot method yet.

Not sure what to put in for Region Code? Look It up! For me, it was TMB for T-Mobile USA.

I don't know if you guys are aware of this but the G935U device uses the Snapdragon chip set instead of Exynos
which means that it cannot be rooted even if you have a S7 / S7 Edge G935U phone.
Also the G935U firmware will not flash/install properly on our Exynos G935F, it's the same idea as trying to flash
the tmobile, sprint, at&t or verizon Snapdragon firmware onto a Exynos G935F phone.
All the USA models of S7 / S7 Edge have the Snapdragon chip set which now also includes the G935U device.
Good luck,
Have a great day!

O RLY?
I know it's kind of breaking news, but that link is what munkypoo7 and I were talking about with engroot. Essentially the Snapdragon variants can use a signed Engineering boot file to acquire root. None of us were talking about the Exynos version (G935F), I'm pretty sure we were talking about SM-G935U being able to run the Engineering boot file that the other Snapdragon variants are able to run. I was just providing the steps for how to grab the stock firmware for the G935U as it doesn't seem to be publicly available yet.
So could we flash this via ODIN over the tmobile version?
I would be interested in enabling FM radio and adding EVS and video dialer from T-Mobile without loosing the bands. Can one advise which files from T-mobile to flash on this unlocked device? Thanks!
Anyone have the SM-G930U Firmware?
Use SamFirm tool for SM-G930U, Region code: TMB ?Auto)

Interesting.. so we don't need to buy one we can just flash the new software. That could be real cool.. I will wait for clarification

I did it on my Verizon S7 Edge today and had zero issues. It's way snappier than the Verizon firmware and battery life looks to be better (though it's only been a few hours).
The only thing to keep in mind is this firmware doesn't have *any* Verizon stuff on it, including advanced calling features (HD voice, etc.) or Verizon Visual Voicemail. Someone will probably figure out a way to shoehorn those features in, but as of right now, it's no-go. Despite that, I plan on using this firmware from now on. Being free of all the malware Verizon likes to load the phone with is very, very nice.

To install root, follow this instructions

2.- Flash ROM (see first post)
3.- Flash SuperSU-v2.79.zip (attached below)
4.- Boot into ROM
5.- Install SuperSU-v2.79.apk (attached below)
Thank you for the ROM. It runs very smoothly and I've encountered no bugs at all so far. I did some additional debloating through TWRP and then added in the Google dialer and other apps and I've finally got a ROM that runs as close as possible to AOSP but still has the Edge and Spen features and none of the AOSP bugs. Again, thank you for sharing this.
Edit: Also, the GraceUI file from these boards works as well and doesn't cause the SystemUI FC. I like the Blue/White scheme a lot better than the blue/neon green of the stock UI, I just flashed through TWRP.

Thanks a lot for ur feedback and im glad u liked the ROM... i might be adding some more stuff in the next release, and i'll try to debloat it a little bit more, probably take out the Tmo apps and put it in a separate package for those users who dont want them in the ROM.
Most of my debloating efforts were around removing the stock Samsung apps and TMO stuff since I'm not using TMO and loaded the pixel/Google apps in place of the stock ones. I do love that the ROM is not rooted though. It's easy enough to debloat in TWRP and things rarely seem to unroot completely.

Great ROM!! One thing I wanted to request: Is it possible to make SELinux permissive?? I use Viper4Android and this is the one thing that prevents me from using it on this ROM.
Let me know... thanks!!
Keep up the good work buddy!!
Service Menu Help Please!
Killer Stock ROM !
Only one issue is: I have one Major Question, How to unlock Service menu & Band Menu? *#Service# & *#BAND# ?
These open, but show nothing. Most work, but the most important. Other ROMs worked. I also have /EFS/carrier/HiddenMenu=ON . That Samsung Phone Info+ app frequently crashes when parsing codes, like something missing from the phone??
PS:Also the "AT&T trick" *#0011# hit menu>back>menu> Q >Menu or 0000, 0 doesn't work...
PSS: Any ETA on the OP post about carrier free edition?

This would require a custom kernel... usually, stock kernels are Enforced... we would have to find someone to create a custom kernel

what xposed is on this rom.
after i install it says that xposed is not installed
i try and install it but it just boot loops
A HUGE mess
A HUGE mess with:
1) Xposed install
2) SafteyNet
3) Google Play Store “Uncertified” status
Been using this [ROM][6.0.1][DQG1] efebedge [915T][0819] by efebe and love it. At the beginning I uninstalled Xposed thinking that I would not need to use it. Then many months later I started doing reading on SafteyNet and also UNCERTIFIED status in the Google play store even though this is a STOCK modified rom. With a PURE stock carrier ROM with no root there is NO PROBLEM with SafteyNet and Uncertified status. But hey, I LOVE my device rooted and I HATE PURE stock carrier ROMS! NO FUN at all.
What I discovered currently as of 3/27/18 is a huge mess. A battle between developers and Google. YOU REALLY NEED TO READ THE POST “Hiding root: a losing game - rant du jour” posted at:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/supersu/suhide-lite-t3653855
So I spent days trying BOTH Magisk vs suhide. Results: Both are a MESS ! Both not working. Both are broken. I QUIT !
Then I came across a simple solution. Use Xposed and then install a module called “No Device Check”. PROBLEMS SOLVED ! (see results images below)
Reference reading only:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/supersu/suhide-lite-t3653855/page88
If you do a FRESH install of this ROM you will find that Xposed is broken. Bootloop. Finding an Xposed Framwork and Xposed Manager that works was a long long task. To succeed, Get Xposed Installer by dvdandroid and use Xposed Framework version 86.0-alt (custom build by wanam). Success !
You need the following:
files at: https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=37508
(also attached)
1) TWRP installed Xposed FRAMEWORK: xposed-v86.0-alt-sdk23-arm-custom-build-by-wanam-20160710.zip

Hey Mentalmuso,
Just got a T860 and I'd used your Weta ROM on my S9+ until you quit updating it. Best ROM I'd ever used. With this ROM being on a Snapdragon, I want to be absolutely sure that I don't screw up rooting it, etc. obviously. Is there anything different that I need to be aware of other than what's in your notes? A key for me will be if you plan at this point to update it at least once a month and when Android 10 hits. As with the S9+ I'll make a donation but know in the long run it would be a drop in the bucket.

It's not a full rom as such, but a magisk module. Regardless of being snapdragon or exynos Samsung device, the rooting methods are the same, it's just the yearly iterations of devices change a lot as Samsung tries to squirm it's way around being a treble device.
Do you have any plans on adding customization options for quick settings, notifications, status bar and so on?

I'm not sure what you mean. But I don't do full system roms anymore, just magisk roms. There is no point in 2-3gb of system files in a rom. I see the merit for upgrading firmware but Odin does that spectacularly, and then simply overlaying the modified files over a stock system.

Yes. You have to unlock your bootloader first prior to rooting but you'll have to pay to have your bootloader unlocked since it's T-mo branded. Here's a link to the forum explaining it:

Let me preface my response with: This is JUST MY OPINION: Just my thoughts/feelings on this
But I wish the Title of this thread stated all the "fyi" stuff. Like if the thread were labeled:

A title isn't supposed to be a detailed description. This thread was created off the assumption/pre requisite that you already have an unlocked bootloader, hence the OP. You asked a question, so I provided an option to your dilemma. I did say in my previous post that you have to pay. If you are skeptical on paying for an unlock token, he is a reputable dev. XDA wouldn't just allow some random person to offer a service like this. And if this was false advertisement, the thread would have ceased to exist. And yes, it's quite unfortunate that we have to pay for our Snapdragon devices to be unlocked after all these years of relying on the hard work of devs to exploit, but it's better than being completely locked down. But you yourself can become the change you want to see and find an exploit if this irks you that much. If not, at least be grateful you have a possibility. But enough of this. I don't wish to hijack the thread

Hello. I would like to try this stock ROM Based on T867USQS5CUG1
I have already swapped my firmware from T867V to T867U on boot loader version 5. I did not unlock the bootloader yet.
Seeing as this custom stock ROM is on the same boot loader version 5 would I be able to Flash it via Odin without unlocking the bootloader?
All the best.

I see that there may be in incorrect reference to the fact that SAMPWND may NOT be offering the unlocked BL on their site for the T867U... at least none that I can see. I have put out a question to the dev on this.

Thanks for all your work on this. It's funny because there doesn't seem to be much work in this device and most searches bring up Tab S6 Lite.
I've flashed way back but since being on Pixels I hadn't seen any reason to.
T-Mobile locks suck but you suggested they're possible after unlocked BL, are you able to point me in the right direction for Sim unlock? The hardware is nice it's just a shame it's locked and has so much bloat.
Thanks again.
